Brisket Burnt Ends Sandwich

My sister came into town and this is her favorite spot so we had to go. She ordered the ribs, they fell off the bone. They were so good. My daughter ordered the penne pasta with marinara sauce and meatballs. Delicious! I usually order the burnt end sandwich but decided to go off course and try the French dip. It was a good choice!!! The roast beef was perfectly cooked. The horse radish was fire. Mm. You never disappoint me Enzo's, TIL next time.

UPDATE (2026) We come to Enzos mostly for happy hour and their Italian foods. The BBQ is okay but their pastas are great! Happy hour specials are okay, $10 for a few cocktails, including an old fashioned. I tend to get a beer and they have a variety of anything you could want. Service is usually pretty good. Parking is tough sometimes mostly because it's shared with a variety of businesses. Make sure to get their Specials menu which I like to order from. Always something new and exciting each time we come.

This was on point. Brisket with sauce on side. Veggies were great and beans were okay

Came here last week and the Menu was extensive and I ordered the one damn thing that was disappointing because the rest of my family was satisfied. The ribs looked pretty good, but they had tons of sauce and very middle meat. I wanted to like this place since we just moved here and it's close to our house so I gave it another shot before posting the rating. I went with the brisket, veggies and beans and they hit. I also tried the tri tip and Mac and cheese and they checked out too. This place had great service, tons of beer selection and Italian food that I'm going to try next. I'm glad I gave them another shot and I'll pass on the ribs since they have tons of other great options.

Mac n cheese and Brisket Burnt Ends (1 lb)

I came on a Saturday night, about an hour before closing. It was really slow inside, with only one or two parties remaining. The host prompted us to choose our seats, which was actually nice because we got to sit where we wanted. The service was great. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. At the end of our meal, he even offered us a soda to go which was thoughtful. The food was nothing to write home about, but it wasn't bad. I got the Mac and cheese and the burnt ends (1 lb). It was a good amount of food I eat a lot and I couldn't even finish all the Mac and cheese and the meat. The main thing I disliked about my meal (and my girlfriend also admitted the same about her brisket sandwich) is that the meat is pretty dry. It needed a pretty good drenching of the BBQ sauce to moisten it up. That being said, it's definitely not the worst BBQ I've had. The Mac and cheese was good, but again, nothing I'd go out of my way to seek out, like some Mac and cheese from some other BBQ places in north county. Besides the fact that the meat was a bit dry (which is disappointing because it is a BBQ place) the food good, and our experience was pleasant. I really wanted to give it a 4 star rating but because of the meat being on the drier side, as a BBQ restaurant I just have to give it a 3 star rating.

I attended a holiday party here. They have a large private room available. We were provided excellent service. We had about 30 people in the group. We had enough room to move around and mingle. Room for packages. Able to make noise without bothering other restaurant guests. Each person was able to order what they wanted and pay individually. This was a big plus! The food was also very good and I heard no complaints. Everyone was served correctly and timely. I highly recommend this location for a party.

I got the Philly cheesesteak and the fried calamari. 10/10 recommend!! Especially the calamari. Our server Ally was attentive and very helpful. Would come back !

Miko was a great server. Friendly and quick and attentive.. the food was amazing and came out quickly. I ordered the Giuseppe pizza it was wood fired and amazing.. I'm a pizza snob and it was as good or better than Luigi's in San Diego.. the bbq southern platter was equally amazing.. thanks Enzos bbq and miko for the great service.. he let us move tables after sitting down without any fuss that u get at most places.. best food I've had in a while and especially great in Oceanside . Lots of tvs and padres and sports on inside and outside on the patio.

Ask the Community - Enzo's BBQ & Alehouse

Hey Lenzo! When is Encinitas finally going to open? We need nourishment!

Encinitas is not open yet??? What are they waiting for? Maybe Enzo retired. Herro

When are they opening in Encinitas?

Where is Enzo??? Summer is over time to get back to work.

Curious question. Being that the owner is from Italy I was just curious if he uses "00 four" for his pizza dough? We are gluten sensitive not necessarily gluten free.

Hi Sarah, I would just call Enzo's BBQ phone number and ask the owner your question and he should be able to tell you if he uses 00 Four for his Pizza Dough.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, they are in the large enclosed patio. Which by the way is quite nice and being I have a well trained bernedoodle puppy, she is quite at home there. People who that don't bring there trained dogs to eating establishments that have the facilities…

Saw a sign out front that mentioned pizza by the slice, but I don't see it listed on the website. Does anybody know the type of pizza and the price? Thank you.

DIfferent selections that are ready to be cooked. Last time I was there it was $8 and it was more like a "mini" pizza than a slice. The price was fair.

Celebrated our mother's day here, because they were just doing regular brunch and not charging…read moreextreme prices. I made a reservation about 2 weeks out with no issue. Street parking only, but wasn't too hard to find a spot as we came early. The restaurant is very nice and looks new. There is two dining rooms one towards the front near the bar area, and another in the back. We sent in the front for brunch. The menu had a good variety of items, and we decided to go with the chilaquiles and the shrimp and grits. I love Shrimp and grits, and it's not too common on menu's so i has to try it. The dish had pork belly instead of bacon, and shrimp. THe texture of the grits was very good, not too runny or too thick. The shrimp seemed good quality and not chewy or rubbery. I really enjoyed the dish and would order it again. The chilaquiles were an interesting take, not at all what you're normal chilaquiles would be. They come with lamb but we substituted with chicken. They were covered with a type of hollandaise sauce and we both thought they were good. I also ordered a breakfast shot that had bourbon in it, and a piece of pork belly on the top, and a shot of orange juice. It was pretty strong and very good. I would definitely order this one again, and the piece of pork belly they added on top was perfect. I can't wait to go back to check out their happy hour, it looks like they have an awesome menu, and they even do it on the weekends.

So when this place first opened, we were in love. Whenever we went there, it was busy, but service…read morewas still attentive and the food is delicious. It's been a little bit of time since we've been there, but this has always been a place on top of our recommendation if somebody is coming to town it's where we would take them to show them a good meal and when other people ask for recommendations for a nice place for dinner, it's what we would tell them fast-forward now I think a couple years later from the initial opening and we don't come quite often just bc we have some new favorites, but it was Sunday night Labor Day weekend and we didn't know where to go so we ended up here. They admitted when we first walked in that they were shortstaffed totally fine and I'm happy to sit in the bar area. Truthfully, we don't come as often because they got rid of my husband's favorite oxtail Birria burger, but we do bring friends here for brunch. Anyway, we were here for dinner on Sunday night. Service was short staffed like they had mentioned and we sat at a high top in the bar area. We started off by ordering a hard seltzer and a carajillo. My seltzer came out rather slow, but it took probably another 10 minutes for my husband to get his drink and when they brought it out, they brought two like they were confused on how many we ordered so we kept the one and then they ended up giving ours I think to what I'm assuming with some friends the owner at the bar not a problem but one thing that I did notice is that there were a lot of "friends at the bar" it definitely gave that kind of vibe they were doing shots with a patron, gave our incorrect food order to another, were testing a new cocktail recipe I think with some. They were sharing drinks with some patrons. It's probably a nice gig if you're friends with these people and I'm not hating on it. Then we ordered our food. I ordered some Mezcal lime wings, and my husband ordered the grits when my food came out the waitress brought a burger and a salad and we had to tell her that wasn't our food. Then we waited another extra five minutes for my husband's food to come out and it did. I will say the quality of the food hasn't changed. The wings were delicious. They were crispy and they were well seasoned, and my husband really enjoyed his food, but it was the lack of service throughout the meal that really hit home for me that we probably won't be coming back as often and maybe just for brunch. It was such a weird experience to feel like because we were paying we were getting worse service than those who were getting free drinks and such but I can't complain because the food was good if the service was bad and the food was bad I'd be leaving a lower review but I can't give any higher than three stars if there was a 3 1/2 I'd leave it, but I almost never write negative reviews for places, but this really struck a nerve for me. I think because we came a little bit before 7 PM. It's not as if they were closing in 20 minutes. I could understand poor service for that, but I didn't really see why the service was so poor looking around. It's just a bit confusing, I guess.
