Visited for the first time with two friends for lunch. I rarely write reviews but I couldn't help it because the food was phenomenal. I ordered the Taco Trio (shrimp, fish, rib eye) and each taco was delicious and filling. The rice and beans on the side also were great. You can tell the quality of a Mexican restaurant by its chips and salsa and both were excellent. Chips came warm, crispy, and salted just right. Green salsa was chunky and not too spicy. One friend got a cheeseburger and fries. The fries were perfect - not greasy but crispy and yummy. Burger tasty as well. Definitely will be back. This is my review of this amazing sandwich that I had at the Hidalgo Bistro, a Mexican Bistro in Hamburguesa Cubana - Beef patty, sausage, ham, bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato, avocado, pickled jalapeños, house dressing, all on a custom toasted bun. This was a really filling burger!! The flavors were a great blend and with each bite I'd get hit with the salty ham, crunchy bacon, creamy avocado, some twang from the jalapeño! The toasted bun was a nice touch and next time I'd add some grilled onions. The inside is spacious and staff are very friendly. There's a small tv in the corner, which seems like it's more for customers who are waiting for their TO-GO orders. The ambiance is casual and relaxing. Their menu is very diverse and ranges from breakfast items like: omelets, chilaquiles, breakfast burritos & croissant sandwiches. Lunch items such as chicken wings, salads, tacos, burritos, burgers & sandwiches (like their Philly Cheesesteak). Dinner items include: pastas, Alfredos, lemon salmon, Parmesan chicken, and their popular 12oz Ribeye steak plate. From Oscar our server to his Uncle the Cook and his other family members, this place has great service. Don't let the decor or menu take away from how absolutely delicious the food is. My burger cooked to perfection with the bun tasting so fresh along with its counterparts. My husband had the Ribeye and said it was delicious and comes with fried onions and pats of seasoned butter. First time coming to Hidalgo! Bistro and we absolutely loved it! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Lisa, who made us feel right at home. She let us choose any table, gave us time to settle in, and then brought over both the breakfast and lunch menus. They truly have a little bit of everything omelets, French toast, breakfast burritos, chilaquiles, and more! Our drinks came out quickly, and everything from there just kept getting better. The chilaquiles sounded amazing, and they did not disappoint! I ordered the Chilaquiles Verdes with steak, the steak was so tender and full of flavor. My husband built his own omelet and really enjoyed it, and my stepson had the California burrito, which he loved too. The portions were generous and we even took some leftovers home! My wife ordered chilaquiles and it was amazing. It was just as you want it; crunchy with some queso fresco on top. She had the steak option with it and it was amazing. Cute little mom and pops restaurant. Quiet and clean location with loads of parking. They definitely have great food at very reasonable prices. I ordered the jalapeño burger, medium rare, and it came out perfectly. I even ate the tomato that came with it because it was perfectly ripe and I never eat tomatoes. I usually tell people that I'm allergic to tomatoes because I just don't like the tomato guts. My husband ordered the burrito with French fries(like a Cali, but that's not what they called it in the menu).I tried that too and the meat was very flavorful and the red salsa was just the right picante. My friend ordered a shrimp taco with the green sauce and she said that was amazing! I tasted her grilled shrimp and it had very good flavor. I think I'll try those shrimp tacos next time. She said they had a nice little kick to them too and didn't need to use the green salsa. My husband said that he wants to try the ribeye next time. They have a 12oz one for $22. I feel like that's a great deal! The young man that waited on us provided great service as well. He was constantly checking on us to see if we needed anything. And this is just FYI...they do not have fountain sodas, but they do have aqua frescas and a variety of canned/bottled drinks to chose from.
