Prohibition hosted a TCG trade night in conjunction with a local gaming group and my friend and I popped in to check it out. The venue is large, a little bit away from the freeway, but had plenty of parking and space for patrons to enjoy a meal and beer. The space the event was hosted in always decently sized for the number of vendors they had. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about the beer options. There was a decently expansive menu to choose from as well. I ordered a pretzel and beer, the ultimate brewery combination in my opinion. The beer was crisp and refreshing and the pretzel was perfect. The beer cheese was divine and paired well. My friend ordered the nachos which were massive. We visited Prohibition Brewing on a Saturday around 1pm. When we arrived there weren't very many cars and there was ample parking available both towards the front of the building and back. This is definitely a little gem of Vista. Upon entering we were quickly greeted with smiles from the bartenders and welcomed in. The patrons sitting at the bar also smiled at us as we later learned they were the regulars of the bar and one used to be a bartender there. This place gave off such a casual cool dive bar vibe but was actually really nice inside. We ordered the fried zucchini, Nelson burger, and the elliotness burger. These burgers were great! And you can see that in the pictures. Meat was delicious and flavors were tasssssty! I must also say their Irish red and seltzers were super good too. I've been coming to Prohibition for over 8 years. I pop in once or twice a month for a sandwich or a burger. Friday was the last time! We came in for lunch around 2pm. Ordered a couple burgers and the pretzel to start. The pretzel tasted like a frozen pretzel reheated to barely warm. The cheese sauce was straight out of a can. The burgers were not cooked to temp, one was still mooing and one was horribly overcooked. We asked for no onions and we got extra, extra onions. Service was sparse. Our waitress had 2 other tables of two patrons and the bar I believe she was covering. In all for 2 burgers, a pretzel, an iced tea and a water. The cost was $55 plus. With tip we spent just over $65. We did not ordered but noticed the soup was $15. That's insane for a cup of soup! The whole experience was terribly disappointing. I had some onion rings and a beer here to watch the US in the World Cup. For a "sports bar" there was NOBODY else there primarily for the game. Beer was fine but unremarkable. Onion rings were big and seemed handmade, unfortunately I don't think the grease was the right temp when they fried them so they were just meh. read more

This place is fun with great food and exciting atmosphere. Very clean. Love that they have a back patio where they hold events at.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed prohibition. It is definitely a local spot, which adds to its charm. The lighting makes it feel more like a tavern. It's never too busy, I haven't had to wait for a table yet. The food is also pretty good, anything with the carnitas is a good choice. There is also a good beer/wine selection. All the servers have been friendly and have provided excellent service whenever I've visited. read more

Enjoyed the Reuben sandwich with the regular fries and a Hef-U-Up beer. We arrived about 20 min before closing the kitchen, but waiters were super kind and accommodating- we ordered right away, service was prompt and professional, and the servers are as chill as their super beer :) The place is decked out with prohibition era pictures, infamous figures, etc. The check was a QR code, which was super convenient and fast. Well my lady and I drive by this place on the way to the casino every week! So I got a Saturday off and decided to treat us to a random Saturday at new brewery and man were we hungry! And thirsty!!! Our server was new, however his service was outstanding! Honestly honesty is the best policy! We admitted it was our first time and he made us feel so welcome and opened up conversation with a joke! We came on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately at a place of our choice. I wanted to sit outdoors, and we got a seat in their patio. They do have both indoor and outdoor seating available and also bar seating. There is parking available in the front of the restaurant. We were served immediately. We got out drinks. I got myself a draught beer. And later on a seltzer. The drinks were nice and cold and refreshing. For food, we got two appetizers to share. We ordered wings and nachos. The portions were large. The wings were slightly undercooked for my hubby. Perfect for me It's juicy, and the sauce was delicious on point. The nachos were great for my hubby but a little greasy for me. We got the peach cobbler for dessert, and I have to say it's the best dessert ever. It's like churros and peach cobbler rolled into one. I'm not ashamed to say that I devoured it mostly on my own :D One point to note: the patio was a little stinky. I'm not sure if it was the way the breeze was blowing. Sadly, I really enjoyed my wedge salad, the fries were good, the andouille pasta was good but we decided to come here bc it says this places closes at 11! Well, that's a lie and if so, you should direct customers to the front instead of having them seat themselves only to feel rushed at 9:30 but yet they close at 11! No, you guys should close at 10, if on a Saturday night you're not welcoming people. Not everyone wants to go to Ciao's. I was prepared to give five stars before feeling like an intruder. If I wanted to chill a lil after dinner, they did a great job at making you feel not welcome. It's not like it's it's a Wednesday night. So odd n my man jus told me he wanted to order the peach cobbler but they were too focused on closing and I get it. It's kinda dead in there on a Saturday night for reason. Stopped by this place towards the end of a Saturday night, there was only a few people in the building. I thought the French dip I got was damn decent, a little on the dry side but hey that's what the delicious Au Jus was for! The Cajun fries here are some of the best fries I've had hands down. The beer was delicious. Service was great. They did lose a few points for starting to shut the place down two hours before they closed and it made my Fiancé feel like we were being rushed, but like I said we were the only two customers at the time, so I understood. Random stop - LOVED it! I had never been to Vista before (my bf recommended that I check out the Steam and Engine museum), but I needed food and there didn't seem to be many options. Then I saw the Prohibition Brewing restaurant with some faded paint on the outside depicting some 20s gangster and flapper scenes. I'm for that vibe. Some guy came out of the place and said that everything was really good there - so we went in and it was great. The prohibition theme was carried throughout the place (even in the bathrooms) - and the inside wasn't rundown at all - it was a nice place. A lot of cool things to look at - separate area for the bar (old timey bar) and a large indoor dining area with some cool decor. It was a gorgeous day so we opted to sit outside on the patio. Super nice patio - also had cool decor - Gatling gun lamps and coins in the tables. Server was super nice and the menu had a lot on it - was difficult to choose. We ended up having the cheeseburger with fries and they came out fairly quickly. The burger was a huge portion (1/2 lb?) and you got your choice of cheese. The fries were exceptional though. Tried both the regular and Cajun and the Cajun was too spicy for my taste. The regular fries were light but crunchy on the outside while being soft on the inside. Not greasy. Honestly some of the best fries I've had. I had the salad too, and wasn't feeling the bleu cheese dressing they served, but overall it was a perfect lunch. recommend if you are in that area. This is by far my favorite restaurant in Vista. The food is always delicious, the management & staff are super friendly & accommodating, & I feel lucky to have this as our neighborhood spot. Make sure to ask about their specials. They're always legit. We've been able to use the back patio area for a couple of larger events we've put together in the past, & from time to time, they have live music. And the beers? The best around! My wife and I visited Prohibition for lunch today. The outside looks like a dated dive bar but lots of parking. When we went inside it was confirmed that this is a dated dive bar. Sounds like a criticism but it isn't; it just is what it is. Gabbie was our server and she had a wonderful personality. I started with a flight of beers and they were good. Out of them I chose a glass of their Hefeweizen. I ordered the Reuben sandwich with a side of fried green beans. Both were delicious. My wife ordered the carnitas tacos but to her they were dry and tasteless. Gabbie apologized and removed the tacos from our bill. Even though it was raining, patrons arrived and went outside to the covered patio with heaters: smart move! Gabbie's service was first rate! The prices are very good here for both food and drink! Got take out this time to take to my in-laws. They've never been here before so we thought they'd like to try it. My mom in-law got the rueben and liked it. My wife got the coconut shrimp and it was ok - good dipping sauce. I got the cordon blue sandwich for the 1st time and it was sensational! The only truly disappointing part, my dad in-law got the French dip and there was no dip sauce given to us. So he had a French and no dip. So that kind of sucked for him even though he said the sandwich was good. Check your take out WELL and make sure all the sauces and dips are there before leaving! read more

Customer service was horrible. The restaurant was not even 1/4 full and waiters were just staring at us. It took them such a long time to/ (15min) to give us a menu and after receiving our drinks, they wouldn't acknowledge us for a good 10 min until we decided to walk out. We set out to visit Prohibition Brewing because it was a pub and we wanted to knock back several cold ones.  It turned out that while this is a pub, the food they serve here makes it a worthwhile destination even if you're not interested in alcohol :-) Tip: Prohibition has a broad selection of beers on tap, and a nice selection of pub-type food available as well. The staffers here are very friendly, the beer is good and the food is even better - this is a outstanding Mom & Pop establishment; after just one visit I'm in serious danger of becoming a regular ;-) If the weather cooperates, I suggest that you drink your drinks and/or eat your food on the back patio.  There, the combination of sunshine, fresh air, and great pub cuisine is just what the doctor ordered to help you kick back and relax. read more
