I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed prohibition. It is definitely a local spot, which adds to its charm. The lighting makes it feel more like a tavern. It's never too busy, I haven't had to wait for a table yet. The food is also pretty good, anything with the carnitas is a good choice. There is also a good beer/wine selection. All the servers have been friendly and have provided excellent service whenever I've visited.

My husband and I went for food and drinks. We sat at the bar and Kenya took care of us. She was very knowledgeable, fun and kind with a great spirit. She was attentive, recommended drinks based on our likes and added a personal touch when she served us. She made the experience amazing. We will come back

Freshly poured Hef U Up. It's. German beer with a higher percentage of alcohol- if I remember right, it was 7.3%

Enjoyed the Reuben sandwich with the regular fries and a Hef-U-Up beer. We arrived about 20 min before closing the kitchen, but waiters were super kind and accommodating- we ordered right away, service was prompt and professional, and the servers are as chill as their super beer :) The place is decked out with prohibition era pictures, infamous figures, etc. The check was a QR code, which was super convenient and fast. I definitely recommend coming here for a solid meal and delicious craft, local beer. Support your local businesses! Wish I remembered to take a pic of the food- but we were too hungry and forgot!

Happy to see this place was still in business since we haven't visited the area in about two years. The food was great again and the service was great too! This time we ordered a Elliott Ness burger with the sauce on the side, Buffalo wings and Philly Cheesesteak with a side salad.

First time here! Ready to hydrate

Well my lady and I drive by this place on the way to the casino every week! So I got a Saturday off and decided to treat us to a random Saturday at new brewery and man were we hungry! And thirsty!!! Our server was new, however his service was outstanding! Honestly honesty is the best policy! We admitted it was our first time and he made us feel so welcome and opened up conversation with a joke! We were so surprised by the large patio out back and live music! Airrick was amazing good hire manager!!!! The food is next! Not only was he happy, fast and professional but he is quick to buss his own tables! As soon as I finished my next beer was here and old glass removed!!

My friend and I saw this place after going to the Vista Trading Post and decided to try it for lunch. It was a great choice! The waitress was very helpful, attentive and friendly. We both had the frisco burger with fries and it was delicious. We actually could have split it because it was huge! The place was huge with both indoor and outdoor seating. You could easily have a party there! We will both come back with our families!

We came on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated immediately at a place of our choice. I wanted to sit outdoors, and we got a seat in their patio. They do have both indoor and outdoor seating available and also bar seating. There is parking available in the front of the restaurant. We were served immediately. We got out drinks. I got myself a draught beer. And later on a seltzer. The drinks were nice and cold and refreshing. For food, we got two appetizers to share. We ordered wings and nachos. The portions were large. The wings were slightly undercooked for my hubby. Perfect for me It's juicy, and the sauce was delicious on point. The nachos were great for my hubby but a little greasy for me. We got the peach cobbler for dessert, and I have to say it's the best dessert ever. It's like churros and peach cobbler rolled into one. I'm not ashamed to say that I devoured it mostly on my own :D One point to note: the patio was a little stinky. I'm not sure if it was the way the breeze was blowing. And you can pay by scanning a QR code!! That's how I paid on Saturday. Our server kept checking on us! We loved it! Will be back- but we'll probably sit inside. Btw, super dog friendly. Our dog gave them a stamp of approval, too!

The food is great! Loved my wedge salad but felt unwelcome here.
    Tajuana C.

Sadly, I really enjoyed my wedge salad, the fries were good, the andouille pasta was good but we decided to come here bc it says this places closes at 11! Well, that's a lie and if so, you should direct customers to the front instead of having them seat themselves only to feel rushed at 9:30 but yet they close at 11! No, you guys should close at 10, if on a Saturday night you're not welcoming people. Not everyone wants to go to Ciao's. I was prepared to give five stars before feeling like an intruder. If I wanted to chill a lil after dinner, they did a great job at making you feel not welcome. It's not like it's it's a Wednesday night. So odd n my man jus told me he wanted to order the peach cobbler but they were too focused on closing and I get it. It's kinda dead in there on a Saturday night for reason. This isn't the first time they have made customers feel like this and it's apparent, but good luck!

    French dip with Cajun Fries.
    William D.

Stopped by this place towards the end of a Saturday night, there was only a few people in the building. I thought the French dip I got was damn decent, a little on the dry side but hey that's what the delicious Au Jus was for! The Cajun fries here are some of the best fries I've had hands down. The beer was delicious. Service was great. They did lose a few points for starting to shut the place down two hours before they closed and it made my Fiancé feel like we were being rushed, but like I said we were the only two customers at the time, so I understood. Overall I would definitely go back.

Random stop - LOVED it! I had never been to Vista before (my bf recommended that I check out the Steam and Engine museum), but I needed food and there didn't seem to be many options. Then I saw the Prohibition Brewing restaurant with some faded paint on the outside depicting some 20s gangster and flapper scenes. I'm for that vibe. Some guy came out of the place and said that everything was really good there - so we went in and it was great. The prohibition theme was carried throughout the place (even in the bathrooms) - and the inside wasn't rundown at all - it was a nice place. A lot of cool things to look at - separate area for the bar (old timey bar) and a large indoor dining area with some cool decor. It was a gorgeous day so we opted to sit outside on the patio. Super nice patio - also had cool decor - Gatling gun lamps and coins in the tables. Server was super nice and the menu had a lot on it - was difficult to choose. We ended up having the cheeseburger with fries and they came out fairly quickly. The burger was a huge portion (1/2 lb?) and you got your choice of cheese. The fries were exceptional though. Tried both the regular and Cajun and the Cajun was too spicy for my taste. The regular fries were light but crunchy on the outside while being soft on the inside. Not greasy. Honestly some of the best fries I've had. I had the salad too, and wasn't feeling the bleu cheese dressing they served, but overall it was a perfect lunch. recommend if you are in that area. Looked like they had a stage in the back and host events there too! I noticed they sell restaurant swag, so I guess this place is a thing. Who knew?

Enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio. We enjoyed some wings and nachos. Great lunch stop just wish they would use a better quality cheese. Less greasy but the peach cobbler was delicious.

Inexplicably, my kids love beavers, and so when we were staying in Carlsbad for the night and looking for a place to eat, how could we not visit a place called Belching Beaver? We couldn't not! And so we did. It turns out, Belching Beaver is a very family-friendly brewery, with lots of arcade games, lawn games, and an extremely laid-back atmosphere. I wasn't going to get a beer, but then I saw that the brewery did a collaboration with the Deftones to create an IPA called Phantom Bride. I had to get a pint. Chino Moreno made me do it! It was citrusy and refreshing, and just the thing to enjoy while sitting on the outdoor picnic tables. Belching Beaver offers your average pub food. My kids got chicken tenders and fries, and mac and cheese with fries. I got a poke bowl, which sounds like a risky choice at a brewery, but it was actually really good and fresh! Not too saucy, either. We also got the carne asada 980 Nachos, which are huge and come on a baking sheet. Plenty enough to share! This place is tucked away in what looks like an office plaza. It was on a Friday night, the place was packed, and difficult to find a spot to park. The line to order was almost out the door, but still fast to get through, and we were quick to choose what we wanted before struggling to find a spot to sit and talk. After about 15 minutes, our order was ready and we got to enjoy our food. We started with the Carne Asada Nachos, Refried Beans on the side. The meat was flavorful, very tender, and plentiful atop a pile of crisp and fresh tortilla chips. The cheese was nice and salty and the sour cream was warm to the point where it drizzled over it all nicely. All in all, it was a very tasty start to the night. The only two issues I had with it were that the guac was a bit overly pureed, making it kind of runny. And the refried beans had a very sour flavor, making me think that they were over the edge of going spoiled. I had to thank my wife's aversion to eating beans, helping us avoid having them spooned on top, which would have ruined this course. I also had an Al Pastor Taco, Craft Coast Style. The whole it was crisped up well, the cheese forming a great crust on the inside of the taco. The meat was sweetly marinaded, flavorful and delicious. On top of it was a good amount of beans, onions, cilantro, and guacamole, making for a good sized taco without any overflowing. It was pretty damn tasty. So, our first trip out here had more highs than lows, resulting in a very positive initial dinner. I'm sure those beans were just a one-off, at least I hope they were. And there's still hope that the guac may have had too much lime or had been overly mixed this time around. A second trip is definitely in the cards, with more of the family to expand what comes to the table.
