Shores Bar + Kitchen is the perfect, chill stop for a pre-meal cocktail, or a nightcap! I can't speak to the food because we haven't eaten here (yet) BUT the drinks were tasty and generously poured, and the service was great. Plus, there was a cute dog visitor!

Brought the wife to see one of the latest Bar Rescue make overs. She had the kiss the fish craft cocktail. Served in the fish glass but the drink didn't hit with us. I tried to order a 394 lager but they were out. So settled for a Miller lite. For food she had Ahi poke. And I ordered the "beer" cheese nachos and Buffalo wings. The nachos wh were not beer cheese. But simply shredded cheese melted on chips with jalapeno and pickled onion. Really lacked taste. The wings were good. The bar was busy but only 1 person for the bar and front of the house. I didn't catch her name but she was hustling.

They are in a corner of a small shopping centre. There are parking lots right in front of the restaurant There was only one young lady waiting and bartending today. She was quite efficient with her service, but the food took quite long to come out. Ambiance was a regulars bar type of place. And there was like a reunion party today. The poor lady tending to us looked very busy and overwhelmed. I ordered a kiss the fish and my hubby ordered a Miller lite. The original beer he wanted was out. My drink looked better on pictures and on TV. There was supposed to be garnishes but none in mine. Also nutmeg was way stronger than described in the menu. We ordered wings, beer cheese nachos and an ahi poki for me. Hubby had buffalo wings and nachos And I had the ahi poki. Buffalo wings were good. And the nachos lacked a little oomph. I was expecting beer cheese with a lot more flavour. It felt more like regular cheese tossed on the macho chps. But the chips were definitely fresh. The ahi poke was pretty good. It had avocado, marinated ahi, grilled pineapple, spring onions and a ramen egg. The ramen egg egg was a little overseasoned. I'm expecting ramen egg to be a little less cooked in the middle. This ramen egg was also over salty- probably marinated and kept in the fridge for long. It tasted strongly of Just soy. Overall, we had a good time.

As a San Marcos local for almost 20 years I'm very upset I haven't gone over here sooner. This place had been in my radar for many years, but it wasn't until I saw this bar on Bar Rescue that I decided to go. The menu was fantastic cocktails were strong and prices weren't even that bad. $13 for a strong Aviation!!!!! Sign me up. Service was fast and server was super personable. Completely forgot her name but she was great. The double smash burger is a must. Those fries were amazing as well. Super cute theme and bar in general. Will definitely be back.

The vibe here is gooood. Clean, ac is on, beach surfer decor. Food is delicious and if you want great service, stop in and see Sabrina. She's super friendly, knowledgeable and beautiful. Shores is a fun neighborhood get together.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here when we were in San Marcos having a fun weekend. We were having a drinking night so we stayed at the bar and ordered some drinks. The bartender was lovely ,very attentive and makes tasty drinks. I also loved the atmosphere of this Very cute restaurant.

Inland Tavern is in Vista, but it's worth the drive! We sat outside, but because of the warm weather, there were some mosquitos swarming in towards the end of the night. My friend tried a can of beer from Heady Topper and I opted for a mocktail. Her drink was pretty good, but mine was okay. We started with some wings- I chose the dry chili lime rub and she chose the ginger terriyaki, which was wet. We both liked the chili lime ones more! We also got the Caesar salad and added chicken and it was really light and delicious. For our entrees, we shared the Seaside "Cardiff crack: tri-tip dip and the hot fried chicken sandwich. Both sandwiches were huge, flavorful, and came with thick cut fries. We didn't realize how big the portions were going to be. Before we left, we also ate the golden cream cheese stuffed garlic bread. The milk bun was so soft and fluffy! This was such a great appetizer! I'm so glad I gave Inland Tavern a try because the food is so good! It's way better than the bar food you normally see at taverns.

Had a great experience watching some Sunday morning football and having brunch with my family. Plenty of TV's playing a variety of games with a warm ambiance, with fans from all teams. Service was fast and friendly, and the server brought my daughter a special treat!

Idk ..I had a really great experience..I wish I would have gotten the bartenders name. But me and my pups were here on May 26..i had nachos and a couple long island iced teas...she was lovely..heres sone dramstic pics for reference

Gray/purple "steak frites"
Bob M.

Decided to give this place a chance. Will say that the dirty fries with beef, egg, chiles was good but ... Who would ever send out a steak that looks like that. I ordered it medium rare. I don't even know what temp it is because it's gray/purple. No way this is Cardiff crack steak. If it is, they should know this is how you're serving their product. Neither my wife or I even took 1 bite. Couldn't risk getting sick or gaining some kind of mutant abilities. Source better product and fire whichever cook sent out food looking like that.

Mads S.

Dive bar vibes with fancy restaurant prices. We went around 4pm on a weekday and every table was filled with only one girl working! She was a rockstar but totally unfair to expect her to serve the entire restaurant. The food was okay, my drink was served in this fun fish glass. Sticky tables and floors. I'm sure we will be back but it won't be a first choice quite yet.

Vincent C.

I like this little spot for some serious football watching, good craft beers, delicious food, and a nice patio to watch the games on. I believe this is still a Green Bay Packers bar but they seem respectful of other teams. Oh I have to mention the Cardiff Crack that they serve here omg is so delicious!!!

Just wanted to write this review to say a BIG THANK YOU to Draft Republic in SM for having a…read morespeakeasy pop-up for the movie, Wicked. I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

I want to start by saying that for whatever my opinion matters (and it should matter very little),…read morethis is just how I came away feeling about this place. Because Draft Republic is a rough place to quantify. The food is pretty good; if going off that alone, this place would easily be four stars in my eyes. But, it's not ... Draft Republic is trying to be a bit closer to like a mini Dave & Buster's (a place I have come pretty close to loathing). With an arcade, a bowling alley, a golfing simulator, a full bar, pretty extensive menu, good music, and a fantastic staff, they really have a lot going for them with a little something to make anyone happy. My own issue deals solely with the cost. Came here with my son, all we did was eat two entrees and an appetizer between us, and did nothing else. With drink and after tax and tip, the cost was well over $90. No games, no play, just burgers (plus fries and poke tacos) for two, costs as much as many Californian's net after a full day of work. When you're used to feeding the whole family for about half as much when going out (or a little more when eating sushi), that price was a bit rough. Still, the food is very good. My son and I each ate The Draft Republic Burger. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, very flavorful, and the toppings were high quality. The fries were crisp and salted well. And the side salad wasn't too bad. Both of us ate our entrees and gave it high marks. We had started with the Tres Poke Tacos, where the Tuna was very tasty, steeped in a flavorful marinade, and felt nice and fresh. Definitely a good starter. And the restaurant itself is gorgeous. A lot of space, beautifully furnished, kind of industrial meets art deco with some new age greenery architecture thrown in. I like it a lot. But, as an aging Gen-X'er, who used to go to arcades back in the day, and hates what new arcades have become, the amenities are under appreciated by me. All of that pads the price tag a bit out of what I am willing to pay just for dinner. Which may not be fair to Draft Republic, but that's where it left me.

Pros: This spot is a good place to hang out if you're looking for a casual bar with activities like billiards and darts. The vibe is fun without being overly packed, which made it easy to enjoy the space. They have darts (which are free, you just leave your ID), a pool table, and a music queue system where you can pick songs to play, which adds an interactive element to the night. I didn't try the food but the drinks were solid and did not disappoint. The overall energy of the place was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. It's one of those spots where you can relax, hang out, and have a good time. Cons: Parking here is probably the biggest downside. The lot is really small and gets packed quickly, so I wouldn't recommend relying on it. We parked nearby after eating at Copper Kings Burgers and just walked over, which ended up being way easier. Verdict: If you're looking for a fun, chill bar in San Marcos with games, music, and good drinks, this is a great spot to check out. Just plan ahead for parking, but overall it's definitely worth it and I would come back again!

But I can't tell if most people were just in the bar area - we were able to get a booth! The place was nice and loud since every one was having a good time. Several parties of 3+ and I saw 1 party of 6. They were doing an explorer menu from Yucatan. Interesting thing to do during Black History Month - I won't lie. I was surprised to see it. But we ordered from that menu. We ordered the fried plantain that came with a sauce and cilantro, sausage and pepper soup, and the BBQ pork. I enjoyed everything except for the plantain. They were basically a huge disc that was slightly crunchy. I was not expecting that since if I want a crunchy plantain, I will eat actual plantain chips. The soup was fantastic! It was a bit spicy but not overwhelming and full of flavor. Wish I ordered a bowl instead of a cup. And last but not least, the BBQ pork was very good. Served on lettuce as well, so if you are doing keto you can omit eating the tortillas that came with the dish. It also had pickled red onions and a salsa. The salsa was mild and with everything in the taco, flavors were balanced. We also ordered 6 Cajun wings. But today, they didn't seem as flavorful, a pity really. A grilled cheese was ordered but with hamburger meat inside. That seemed good and it came with fries. Washed all of this down with a sour that was called Boozy Berry & my fiancé had a West Coast beer. Food was enjoyable, atmosphere was fun. We will be back again.

I had to choose a side because if you want fries aka chips, that's considered a side. if you also want Cole slaw as shown in the menu picture, that's extra. I did not get the Cole slaw, so can't rate the taste. You also pay extra for tartar sauce. Again, the price is $27.50 and they charge extra for sauce. The fish was crispy and hot, but it was 90% breading. The fish was so thin, I doubt it was even cod, seems more like tilapia or something. Honestly, fish sticks would be better because at least they're meatier. the fries were tasty, and my food was prepared quickly, and delivered hot & fresh. It appears to be a bit rundown and tacky but once inside I felt I was immediately transported to a local pub on the East Coast. It was something those chains like Ruby, Tuesdays, or Applebee's worth trying to emulate with their stock newspaper wallpaper plastered to the walls. This place had pendants trophies, lots of trophies and other cool memorabilia not often see! at bars in SoCal. The bartender can make a break this experience and the one that we had was super nice and have that Goldilocks level attentiveness zone level of attentiveness. I just brought two children into this place and at first I was ready to walk out saying that it was a proper pump, but she encouraged me to come on in and that it was a family, friendly establishment and that they even had some games that we could play.. This place has character and charm, the wings were crispy and everything else homemade quality (we ordered a Caesar salad and one of their many options for their "world famous" potato skins). Friday's wishes their potato skins were this tasty... and they were good, you could tell someone made them with love. The salad was fresh and optimally, dressed with what tasted like authentic Caesar dressing and there wasn't a ton of Romain butts left in the mix (which I appreciated), I'm finally my son's first ever checking. The experience was a success because the chicken was cooked perfectly crispy and the server was super nice to allow us to sample each sauce on the side. We were told that the bread is flown in daily from Philly. Well, I don't know where it's coming from because it's definitely not the same bread as what they normally use there. The sandwich and meat were dry and flavorless. Totally underwhelming unfortunately. So then we saw that they made key lime pie there too! Again, I was SUPER excited because key lime pie is my favorite dessert of all time. And again...disappointment. I took one glance and saw that it was light green in color and knew I was gonna be mad. Yall, Key lime pie is yellow. You should NEVER add food coloring. That's just gross and inaccurate. The texture and flavor were also off. Texturally it was way too thick and dense, which would have been fine if it actually tasted like key lime. But it was severely lacking in that tart key lime flavor that it's known for. I'd definitely go back because of the service and vibe. But I'll maybe try a burger and the cheesecake instead.
