I stopped by on a busy sunday morning with a friend but even then we were taken care of right away. The food was delicious and the employees treated us great! Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Prices 5/5

Service was good. I just didn't like the food. I got a hot tea, which was good. The corned beef hash was just disappointing. It was made from a can, I believe. Not a fresh corned beef. It was like something I use to eat when my family was poor. The fruit was good at least. It's an old style looking diner. I don't think I'll come back. I thought I use to like eating at Pegah's. I remember the Escondido one wasn't too bad.

Definitely a hidden gem, this spot needs to be the next breakfast go to! Entering this establishment I feel the great sense of nostalgia, growing up always getting breakfast with family on those Saturday mornings! You get greeted by anyone near the door and it is self seating. The waitress was very sweet and got our orders in fast! We both opted for Country fries steak, a stable breakfast option. Came out beautifully, I would ask for crisper hash browns but other than that amazing meal. "Old Fashioned Waffle" was interesting but I will continue to pick those Belgium waffles!

LOVE this place!!! We have been coming here every Sunday for 4 years and always enjoy our food, service but especially love the people that work here! Sashka, absolutely the BEST server anywhere we go. Fun, fast, professional and just an all round great person. Alfonso is the hardest working dude for sure and always with a big smile. Sarah is the friendly and welcoming owner that brings this bunch together for our dining enjoyment. Shout out to Joanna and the other workers all keeping customers happy. There's a reason we keep coming back, try it and you'll understand why!

Came here after the gym with some friends. Breakfast has huge portions at a reasonable price. The Eggs Benedict was cooked perfectly with running yolk on the bacon and English muffin. The hash browns were also lightly crispy. The country fried egg entree was rich in protein. The potato texture was firm on the outside and soft on the inside. The waiter was so friendly and smiley. He came over to chat with us and made us feel welcome. I loved the family/homey ambiance. My friends and I had a good time.

So disgusting to see this after we had eaten. Worker notified the owner but she never came up to us to tell us anything. Never coming back. There is also a tall lady with glasses that is very rude.

Love it, I recommend the Mexican skillet :-) (Adding characters to meet Yelp requirement.)

Delicious spot if you live in the area. They have breakfast and lunch so your set if you wanna grab a quick bite. I stopped in for lunch and could sit anywhere. Got a bowl of chili and their club sandwich. Chili was perfect with some cheese and onions. Classic club is always a favorite of mine. Theirs is tip top and the fries were crispy/tasty. I'll definitely be coming back to try more things. I can only imagine the breakfast foods are good too. Plenty of parking by the 7/11 and the staff are quick to get your order in. If you like old school diners you'll dig it.

Overall a good solid café/greasy spoon type of place. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was all solid. I'd say for most of the food it was equal to about what I can cook at home (without having to do all the work haha). The biscuits are the exception - very good, large, square biscuits which are flakey and seasoned nicely. The gravy needed more pepper and seasoning to us, but once added it was fairly good gravy. Basically, I'd come here again if I was looking for an easy, casual, breakfast but don't bring your "best breakfast ever" expectations ... otherwise I fear you may be disappointed.

    California Benedict
    Sandy N.

Came here on a Sunday morning and ordered California Benedict and Country Fried Steak and Eggs. I wasn't a huge fan of the California Benedict because of the slice of tomato. Felt like it was just added in there randomly. The tomato was also tangy and overpowered the whole entire Benedict making the other ingredients very bland. Avocado was fresh. Really love how they give you a good portion of it. Eggs were cooked to perfection. Fruits were fresh, clean and sweet. For the country fried steak, it wasn't really a steak. It was more like some beef were packed together and fried in a steak form. The gravy sauce was delicious at first, but it got heavy after the third or fourth bite. Really enjoyed the eggs and the potatoes were good. Server was great. She was attentive and made sure our water was filled. For the restroom, you'll have to go through the kitchen to get there. Parking wasn't bad since its part of a plaza. Other than that, I just feel like it was an okay breakfast place that gives out generous portion.

We found free parking on the street a block or two down from the restaurant. Service (4/5): You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. A couple of things stand out to me about their service. I was looking at the menu and was about to order. Someone behind me cut in line without asking if I was ready to order. The lady working noticed this and asked me to order first. Humanity still exists! They also check on your periodically even though this isn't true table service which is a nice touch. On the flip side, they did try and upsell me to add bacon bits to my dish which I was all for until I saw it was a $3.50 upcharge. I asked them to remove it. A little too steep. Ambiance (4/5): My type of restaurant. Casual with some charm. We sat at a table across from the bar. They have some cool decor, too. No complaints. Drinks (4/5): I had a beer flight because I often can't say no to a flight. I love the variety and being able to try new beers, especially when I'm traveling. While they don't have a huge selection, they had just enough beers that were interesting for me to take the plunge. Food (4/5): I did the country poutine which comes with fries, gravy, fried chicken bites, and green onions. I'm a sucker for loaded fries so I couldn't say no. Especially for this twist on a classic poutine. Generous portion size as I had hoped. A little more chicken would have been nice, but outside of that, very solid.

The location has a pretty extensive menu written in chalk on the walk, and it's easy to read. There are choices of sandwiches, salads and a lot of great food in-between. After taking a minute to decide we went with the Southwest Chicken Salad ($16.99) as well as the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich ($15.99) with a side of hushpuppies. The sauce on the salad was flavorful with just a bit of zest, and they gave us extra so that was really cool. It's a really comfy place to eat with a little bit of a Louisiana feel to it. For good food served by good people, this is the place!

The good: Great service from our server, lovely atmosphere, seated quickly on even on Mothers day. Salad and basil dressing were great. The crab cake was good. The unacceptable: The most important part of eggs benedict is the poached eggs, that means cooked whites, runny yolk. 2 of us ordered the dish, and of the 4 poached eggs, three were so overcooked, the yolks were hard boiled, crumbly and dry. I let the server know and asked that they just bring out new eggs, no need to remake the plate. over 15 minutes later, (so ow we had cold crab cakes) they dropped off a small plate with 4 genuinely undercooked poached eggs, they looked like soup. they were a literal puddle. The manager came by to ask if we had out eggs yet a couple moments before they were dropped off, we said no and he and said I'll take care of one of these for you. I don't expect free meals, and I rarely send food back, but this seemed pretty petty. Soupy eggs that took an extraordinarily long time (the restaurant was not at capacity at all). When I received the bill, there was a 15% discount on the eggs benedict. I get tight margins, but at least make the dish correctly please. The hollandaise sauce was good, the server very sweet and friendly (and of course we tipped him 20%, food is not his fault) but I doubt I would try this place again if that is how the rectify substandard meals. They did give me a lovely flower!

Pros: This spot is a good place to hang out if you're looking for a casual bar with activities like billiards and darts. The vibe is fun without being overly packed, which made it easy to enjoy the space. They have darts (which are free, you just leave your ID), a pool table, and a music queue system where you can pick songs to play, which adds an interactive element to the night. I didn't try the food but the drinks were solid and did not disappoint. The overall energy of the place was welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. It's one of those spots where you can relax, hang out, and have a good time. Cons: Parking here is probably the biggest downside. The lot is really small and gets packed quickly, so I wouldn't recommend relying on it. We parked nearby after eating at Copper Kings Burgers and just walked over, which ended up being way easier. Verdict: If you're looking for a fun, chill bar in San Marcos with games, music, and good drinks, this is a great spot to check out.
