I've already left a review for Pegah's. 5 stars all the way. But this is about the review that S. Feliks wrote about the place. I was directly across the floor from Feliks and her family. Feliks and her family came in and were seated by the side door, next to the coffee and orange juice machines. Feliks said she was in a hurry and wanted to order at that moment, basically cutting in front of two other customers. First off.... Francine is one of the best servers in the place. Always greets with a smile and if you're a regular, you may be lucky enough for a little playful banter from her. Feliks didn't wait 20 minutes for coffee. She waited about 5 or 6 minutes tops. You asked about eggs. She asked how you'd like them and you never answered her. So, when she asked again, you got crabby and condescendingly said, "Scrambled" then asked for another server. There was nothing calm about your offensive behavior, wanting the entire check to be comped. You were the bully!! In fact, YOUR behavior made MY dining experience not so pleasurable, so, thanks for that. It's rare that Nima, the owner isn't there on a Sunday, but even restaurant owners have lives outside of work. Next time you're in a total hurry, try not going out to eat at a popular eatablishment on a Sunday beforehand. Not only will you be happier, but the gals at Pegah's won't have to put up with your shit. read more

Have been a frequent customer with my family and also work friends. Absolutely the worst experience. First our server was Francin (avoid at all costs). She is not only arrogant but argues with customers. I simply asked her when if my coffee was ready after 20 mins of waiting and she gave so much attitude and argued back. After asking politely for a new server she continued to argue and humiliate me. I also asked her if the kids meal comes with eggs and she became defensive and hyper verbal and argumentative. After telling her we would like another server she still continued to come to the table and told us "the other server doesn't have much experience." We had enough and calmly went to check out and pay at the front and this lady named Lina was terrible and seemed to be Francin's friend as she was full of attitude and told us "manager is on a daycation" when we asked for the manager. We asked for his number and she struggled to give us his number and the lady behind her gave it. It's sad as we love the food here the service was straight up bullying and condescending. Terrible!!! Not worth it! Also when asking for the manager multiple times she pointed to main number with an attitude and rolling her eyes and told us to call since the number is right there as she chuckled. These pple were taking full advantage of the manager not being there and also bullying customers who ask any additional Qs. read more

Went on a Sunday at noon expecting it to be busy and it definitely was. Almost all the tables were full so we were ready to wait at least 45 minutes. But we didn't have to. Walking in, we were greeted and seated right away. Francine was our server and she was so friendly and efficient. We ordered the Cinnamon roll combo special and the Pegahs scramble. While we waited (which wasn't very long), the man who greeted us and sat us at our table came and poured our coffees. We noticed that this cute diner managed to maintain a warm, relaxed vibe all while working as a well-oiled machine. Super efficient all around. As busy as it was, the employees didn't miss a beat and didn't look or act hurried or stressed. Customer service was on point. The turnaround was fast. Food came out quick and we thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. Definitely a good value. So glad we tried this place, we'll be back! read more

This restaurant has such a cute old school diner feeling. We went on a Saturday morning around 8:30 and it wasn't too crowded, but by the time we were leaving around 9:30 it was completely packed. It has that classic diner feel with both table and booth seating, which I love. The staff was so nice and friendly the whole time. The food was really good too. I got the spicy jalapeño scramble and my husband ordered the meat lovers omelet, and both hit the spot. Came to Pegah's Kitchen with my in laws while it was raining. It is a cute little diner and it feels nostalgic the moment you walk in. The food was good and filling, nothing too special. I ordered the country fried steak and eggs and the steak was a little dry and my sunny side eggs were a bit under. We also got the sausage gravy and biscuits and I should have gone with a half order because it was a lot of food. I also wish they had a bit of butter or something for more flavor. One thing I really liked was the apple jelly for the toast. We only waited about ten minutes to be seated even though it was busy. It was a nice and simple spot for a rainy day. read more

Loved the service and the food. They had a large selection of both breakfast and lunch items. We had the club sandwich on wheat with no mayo with a side of fruit, and the ABC burger (add bleu cheese) with French fries and both were great. The service was friendly and quick. The prices reasonable too. We went on a Saturday and luckily they were able to seat us right away. The food came out quickly and they refilled our hot tea and iced tea. This is a great stealth gluten free diner! They have gluten free bread, pancakes and waffles. Only the bread is mentioned on their menu. I don't know why they do this, maybe because they cannot guarantee cross contamination so they don't bother. If you have celiac or strong allergies I can understand not mentioning it, however for the customer where it is a preference or not a strong allergy this place is a good portion of food for a great price. I really like the retro blue seating. They have a kids menu and a seniors menu, and I saw plenty of families there for Sunday brunch which gives it a vibrant ambience. This was a cute little mom and pop spot. In a neighborhood very limited parking but there is some street parking. Outside seating available. Service was great from the time I walked in to the time I left. If you love eggs, this place has a lot of them. I chose the French Toast and added fresh strawberries and whip cream and made it a meal minus the eggs and substituted with hash browns and got 2 sausage patties. All really good. The orange juice wasn't freshly squeezed, it came out of the machine we sat next to. The tables were a little small and not a lot of room at the tables. If you need a lot of room outside is perfect for you. Not a bad place to stop for a bite to eat on your way up or down the 15 or 78 freeways. read more

Love the Brunch menu and the Service. The waiters all share responsibility to give the guests the best experience. It is a little noisy with not much sound dampening, but leads to a good friendly ambiance. I wish they would offer protein pancakes or waffles and other healthy eating options. I have been eating at Pegah's from the first day they opened the Escondido location. Probably twice a week on average. I LOVE everything about this place. They have quality food, great service, and a competitive price. When I decided to write this review, I looked through some of the others and was astounded by some of the negative comments. Overpriced? This is one of the most competitively priced quality breakfast restaurants I've been to (everything went up coming out of COVID). A complaint about Francine? She is absolutely one of our favorites, and has always treated us in a very friendly manner, efficiently, competently, and with a great sense of humor. I can't understand why anyone would ever be critical of her or this restaurant. I found myself asking if this was the same place I go to? If you happen to be looking for a great breakfast restaurant in the Escondido area, I unreservedly recommend Pegah's. PS their Chicken bacon melt is to die for! read more

Great food as always. But I wanted to leave this review for Sierra specifically. My 8 year old daughter loves hard boiled eggs for breakfast (kids, right?). We were told if someone wanted those that their hard boiled eggs would come cold. My daughter said fine. Once she brought our food, she said she had had them warmed up for her. Came here for brunch on a Saturday and I was very happy with my experience. There isn't much parking around the restaurant, but you can find street parking. The inside of this place is quite large, and on a busy day, we only had to wait 5 minutes before we were seated. The service was very prompt and occasionally checked up on our table. Came in here yesterday (07/16/2025) around 6:30am. The only lady that was there made us feel unwelcomed. She sat us and after not even a min she told us if we were ready. We said no. After less then 5 min she comes back again and said if we are ready. We are obviously still looking at the menu. I don't know what was her rush. After finally bringing out our food. She came and offer coffee only once. She didn't even ask how was everything. Then she came back again and check if we needed anything and gave us the bill and asked if I wanted a box after I was still eating my food. That was very rude of her to say. After still trying to finish my food. I haven't had a refill on my coffee just my partner. So I saw her pouring the table across us and didn't even to stop by us. So I flagged her down and told her I needed coffee. All this time with us she was very unfriendly and we felt rush all the time. When I saw she had 2 different tables of regulars. (Because they had no menus and order). She was very smiley and giving them a great service. This was our third time coming to this place and never encounter that lady. Pegah's is still my favorite breakfast place! It's nice and bright with many windows. The staff are always nice and accommodating. The food comes out fast and always tastes good! I can eat healthy breakfast here. Recently I have been making a meal from the side dishes like oatmeal (tastes good like slow cooked) and scrambled eggs. You can request egg whites. This time I had an egg white vegetable omelette, which was delicious and healthy, with a side of fruits and wheat toast. So, it is possible to eat healthy breakfast here. We returned here for a late morning breakfast after not visiting for many years. Not much has changed, physically. Comfortable booths, clean and current, adequate parking in their front lot or on the street, a large number of windows, giving it a bright feel. The thing I most want to report that when one considers the variety of choices, the size of the portions, and the quality of the food, this place is as good as it gets. We had so much to choose from but opted for the traditional Benedict with a side of bacon and some biscuits and gravy with a side of hash browns. It was way more than we needed, probably could have picked from the seniors menu and saved a few nickels, but then we wouldn't have had plenty to take home for the next day's morning feed. The server could not have been friendlier nor more attentive and the price for what turned out to be four meals was under $40. We have traditional weekly lunch date to celebrate our long marriage and we will likely give them another visit after noon soon. read more
