I had a nice breakfast! It's always busy at mama Kat's. We came at a 20-30 min wait. I believe we waited 20. I always get the Campbell's, but this time with fresh fruit so it's not super filling. So it was a perfect amount of food. I also got the dapper apple! Delicious, I really needed that refreshing drink! Service was excellent, our waiter was very sweet! We were seated outside. Which was nice and quiet.

This was my first time coming to this place and it did not disappoint. We came in on Sunday around 12:30 and got sat in about 10 to 15 mins. Alex was our server and he was such a delight! I got the tabby coffee which is Carmel and white chocolate (to die for) and then I got the chorizo burrito and added avocado. And my husband got the chicken fried chicken without the gravy. Both meals were marvelous. Full of flavor and even the presentation was outstanding. The place is very clean and inviting. I love all the plants everywhere. Very excited to return here especially at their new location.

My daughter and I had a fantastic breakfast today. The food and drinks are a stepbup from a typical dinner, but with the family atmosphere. The breakfast burrito was huge, stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese, home fries and bacon. It was hearty and filling. The sunrise sandwich was stuffed with eggs, ham, bacon , cheese and the sourdough bread was perfectly toasted. The chai tea was rich and creamy, and the carrot orange juice was fresh and refreshing. Excellent service, making us feel right at home despite how busy they were. Give it a try!

This spot will always be a special place that I have spent so many incredible meals at with family and friends. I am so excited to hear that they are moving to a larger location next month (I think) and I can not wait to check it out I know it'll be a huge success with the incredible team that they have. I have a hard time straying away from my go to which is the college rules Benedict but it is my favorite Benny in San Diego it always hits the spot for me. Prices have gone up over the years but that seems to be normal around San Diego and I will continue to come back!

The server Ray was very informative and helpful to offer suggestions. We took his suggestions and started off with the house made cinnamon roll, then frogman skillet style and the country fried steak and let me tell you that gravy they make and put on it is so delicious. We sat outside I their patio seating area which is cute as they also sell succulents and statues for your garden as well. Definitely recommend you come here whether it's for breakfast or lunch also from what they said they will be moving to a bigger location at the end of April.

No wait time on a Monday at 9 am but I heard it gets busy later on and especially during the weekends. I ordered the Mexicali Specialty Skillet that came with Carne Asada, Bell Pepper, Onion, Avocado, Pepper Jack Cheese, Sour Cream, Salsa Roja and a side of toast. My friend ordered the half order of biscuit and gravy with fruit salad. For drinks, we had the dirty chai and the Hobbes. The food and drinks were tasty and well-prepared, though nothing stood out as particularly unique. It's a solid, reliable spot for brunch. The super friendly service and clean interior makes it well worth a visit.

Great and delicious food! I had the southwest skillet and it was so filling and tasty. The carne asada burrito, ordered by my father, was also very tasty and my sister's plate was great as well. We went around 10am and there was a 10-15 minute wait. Not bad at all. Parking was completely full so we ended up doing street Parking. The total for 3 people was $100, so on the high side for breakfast, but the food was great. Ambiance: there were several people celebrating birthday and Doing gift exchanges. Very comfortable seating and clean restaurant.

Cute breakfast/brunch place. It gets pretty busy here. Paid a fee to get reservations for 6 people. There's games such as cornhole and connect 4 outside while you wait. Ordered the cinnamon roll and corn beef hash and both were tasty. Service was also fantastic!

There's a reason why Mama Kat's is always packed. The breakfast food here is incredible, and so are their pies. I love their biscuits and gravy and the plant-based burrito. The restaurant has a warm, cozy, feel-at-home vibe. My favorites are the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie and the Vegan Blueberry Crumble Pie. They also have an extensive vegan-friendly menu. This place gets busy, so parking can be a little tough in the lot. Street parking is another option. If you don't want to wait in line (and the wait can get long), you can book a reservation for a fee through their website.

I've had this place on my list of places to try for a while. I got pancakes with a side order of bacon. Both the pancakes and bacon were really good. The staff here were all super nice and helpful. It's a cute restaurant too with plenty of seating both in and outside. They also have games for the kids to play with outside. The one down side to this place is how overpriced it was. For two pancakes, 2 small strips of bacon, and a small orange juice, it was like $25. And for that, I wasn't even truly filled.

Stopped here at 9am on Friday and was shocked at how busy it was! They sat us at the counter a few minutes after arriving but def seems like it'd be a longer wait for a table or if we arrived any later, as parking was already packed and we had to park on the street. Service was exceptional, or worker was kind and often checked on us and the food came out so fast. The food was good but I didn't give five stars as I didn't think it was incredible considering it was also quite expensive for simple dinner food. The biscuits and gravy were yummy but the sausage was very dry and didn't seem freshly cooked. Eggs were cooked perfectly and hash browns were just okay to me. Portions were big enough for two meals for me but my boyfriend had it all in one sitting. Overall, the food was good but not as good as I hoped for a classic diner spot, and the price was a little high for the type of spot and quality of food. However it was a good experience, I just felt that the sausage and hash browns needed more flavor and were a bit dry!

A Sunday morning at 10am and somehow we beat the church rush. We waited only 10 minutes for a seat outside on a beautiful morning. Behind us the patrons came pouring in to fill all available waiting chairs along the parking area. We got lucky in more than one way. Quickly greeted by our server. The food came out super (unbelievably) quick and was artfully plated with large servings. My wife's omelet was huge. My combo Benedict was excellent and initially unexpected. One bite and we realized that everything is house made. Even the jams for the toast. We even realized that the English muffins beneath my Benedict's were freshly house-made. Why we don't come here more often was discussed and compromised because the place gets that busy. Today, Kat's was nearby our Sunday shopping, and we luckily beat the crowds. We were prepared and had a backup breakfast plan just in case. We agreed that Mama Kat's is definitely of the best American Diners that we have ever eaten at, especially for breakfast. The taste is obvious! CritDicks

This was my second time at Mama Kat's and it doesn't miss! The staff is extremely friendly and service was QUICK -- I think we waited a total of 10 minutes from placing our order to receiving the food. The restaurant definitely has a mom & pop diner vibe, cozy and lively. For the food, my friend and I ordered... * California Scramble: nice avocado slices, loaded with bacon and crispy hashbrowns * Farmhouse Skillet: tasty home fries and topped with thick and flavorful gravy * Cinnamon Roll: if you don't get one, you're missing out -- that's all I'll say! * The Hobbes Latte: incredible blend of matcha and chai with cinnamon, absolutely delightful Don't miss out on Mama Kat's!

Ask the Community - Mama Kat's

    Is Mama Kats dog friendly?

Mama Kats is dog friendly (pet friendly). They will also bring water out for your baby.

What's the average wait time on a Thursday at 9 am?

It shouldn't be bad on a Thursday. I'd say no more than 15-25 minutes.

Does this business have an outdoor patio? Is it smoke-free?

Yes, they do have outdoor patio seating that is smoke-free.

Is this place open anymore??? Went there Tuesday morning and it looks like no one is there at all anymore... thanks....

We went last week, I think they are only open Thursday-Monday but I could be wrong on the days.

I'm assuming they are closed for the week because of the holidays?

They open the 7th I believe . Hope that helps

Do they have gluten free bread options for breakfast sides, like toast or English muffin?

    Yes

    Are dogs allowed outside?

Yes dog friendly and I saw a water bowl too!! I'm sorry it was another spot in Oceanside that was dog friendly..my bad 😬

What is the average wait for 4 on a Saturday at 10?

    60-90 minutes

    What are the weekly/daily specials?

Monday and Wednesday $2.50 slice of pie

    What's the "must-have" item here?

Ice perfect coffee and the chicken fried steak. But honestly, anything you order will be delicious!

Will the place be open for the holidays?

They are closed for a few day over New Years holiday, but post a sign ahead of time.

Is there a long wait for to go orders? I plan on ordering 3 cinnamon rolls to go this Sunday AM.

Some "made to order" to go options may take longer then others. There shouldn't be a long wait for cinnamon rolls as they are already prepared. Just go straight to the counter.

What's the best time to go on a Sunday AM to beat the crowd?

I would recommend signing up for their Giver's program! In exchange for a donation to their charity, you can call ahead to be put on the seating list so you can walk right in and be seated!

I'm a huge Wicked fan and was excited to see this event advertised on Yelp. This restaurant was the only one in North County I can think of that acknowledged the movie when it was about to be in theaters. First of all, it was easy to get to based on my GPS but kind of challenging to find their parking lot. I ended up finding a 2-hour parking on N. City Drive which was in walking distance. All I was thinking of while walking up to Draft Republic is that this place is massive. Inside, the hostesses verbally instructed me where to go...came across bowling...arcade games...sports on tvs on my way. Behind the curtains, I entered the room in awe. Draft Republic really went ALL OUT!! The Wicked witchy vibe was sooo magical. I loved the beautifuuul Elphaba/Glinda decorations, cleverly creative themed menu option names, actual movie playing in the background, and the take-home momentos. Nick and staff were super wickedly friendly too. The Wicked Bites, Grimmerie Shots and Wickedest Cocktails were all FANTASTIC!!! I definitely tasted Draft Republic's wickedness. I appreciated everything about this experience....well well done. What a WICKED TIME! I hope there are more speakeasy pop-ups in the near future :-)

Well 10-15 min later, we returned from gaming and restroom to find that our food was thrown away, which was practically both entrées and half the salad ... they threw the rest away even though we hardly ate any of it, saving two fish fillets, half of the chips and more than half of the adult Mac plus half the chop ... even after alerting them to the fact that we were still around, they tossed it... and when we asked the girl who we told where we were what was up with that she was just like I'm sorry the other girl was like I'm sorry and no offer to comp or anything else no offer of the birthday cake nothing so I think that there are places where I could better spend 200 bucks on a Monday evening. But we ordered from that menu. We ordered the fried plantain that came with a sauce and cilantro, sausage and pepper soup, and the BBQ pork. I enjoyed everything except for the plantain. They were basically a huge disc that was slightly crunchy. I was not expecting that since if I want a crunchy plantain, I will eat actual plantain chips. The soup was fantastic! It was a bit spicy but not overwhelming and full of flavor. Wish I ordered a bowl instead of a cup. And last but not least, the BBQ pork was very good. Served on lettuce as well, so if you are doing keto you can omit eating the tortillas that came with the dish. It also had pickled red onions and a salsa. The salsa was mild and with everything in the taco, flavors were balanced. We also ordered 6 Cajun wings. But today, they didn't seem as flavorful, a pity really. A grilled cheese was ordered but with hamburger meat inside. That seemed good and it came with fries. Second off, are they even a brewery? I see cans and taps of their own beer, but looking into the business, I dont think they own a brewery at all. This is more along the lines of a taphouse/pub. I can proudly say I have tried quite a few things on the menu already and have not been disappointed. I'd say at this point my brother and I have been here over 5 times. We even brought our parents here twice already. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. My brother and I have done breakfast, lunch and dinner at this point. The first item I tried was the Sun-Dried Tomato Rigatoni. This was so creamy and delicious (later found out you cam add another meat). Which my mom tried her first time around with Salmon. She said it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. From that first pasta, I tried the March Month Special, I got the chopped cheese with no cheese (lactose intolerant) but man did I devour it so fast!! There tater tots never miss btw ALWAYS crispy. The Grilled Chicken Sando, mannn was thay superr good too. Chicken was juicy and always love me some avocado. I told my brother I am going to make it a priority to try everything I cam here. Also, the presentation on the plates ESPECIALLY the Fresno 1/2 Chicken *chefs kiss* The service is NEVER misses. Soo attentive no matter the time of day. Tony's drinks are UH-MAY-ZING. We had Mckellen as our server and he was great. The biggest shoutout to James (the owner) seems like he knows how to create a phenomenal work environment and keeps his people happy. We've seen him walk around often and checking in. You can definitely see thay he cares. I HIGHLY recommend coming here if you have the chance. Also, try the Espresso Martini my brother who is far from a coffee drinker even loves it!!

Okay Eureka is so cool, and you know what's even cooler, our waitress Sky. We had a reservation and…read moretypically you can reserve online but we had to call to reserve for a big party. It was easy peasy. It's located in the beautiful Bressi ranch area. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the restaurant is loungey and cozy at the same time. Not too loungey to be kid inappropriate and not too cozy either. Celebrated a birthday dinner and was happy to see they offered delicious desserts such as the peanut butter cake which was the fav of the table. They have an extensive but not overwhelming menu. They do have plenty of drink offerings including mocktails, whiskey , soda, and wine. Love the variety of burgers they have. We ordered different types and were able to cut into quarters to share. The fav of the table was the fig but I still root and hold it down for the bacon jalapeño. I love the mixture of sweet and savory. Appetizers that were delicious include the Korean frachos and Brussel sprouts. Will definitely return for family and or date night, they have a kids menu, and they also have turf out front for the kids to play.

I honestly couldn't believe we'd found a spot like that so close to our hotel. So good that we went there BOTH nights around 9 or 10pm when we were in town. I don't really enjoy regular bar drinks and wasn't that excited to go to Eureka until I sat down and looked at the drink menu. This is my kind of place....plus the food (appetizers & desserts) were great too. Items we tried were fried pickles, onion rings, dry-rub wings, cheesecake, turtle pie and carrot cake. The fried pickles were probably the best I've had. Crisp and delicious batter. The Eureka dry rub is definitely the way to go. I still crave them! Desserts were great too but I was buzzed eating them back at the hotel so you know..... Drinks we tried: Pineapple Tequila Sour, Headhunter King and Wild Child. The first night I ordered and LOVED the Pineapple Tequila Sour and my husband ordered the Headhunter King which he didn't like at all so guess what? I drank it and enjoyed it and he had a spiced rum and coke. LOL The second night I had a couple of Wild Childs. OMG, they are amazing. I wish I could find that drink here in Tucson. My boring husband had more rum & cokes, The environment at Eureka is great. We did sit at the bar both nights and that bar is hoppin'! I like that there is so much outdoor space too which allows families to enjoy themselves and let the kids have room to have fun. Eureka is a great spot and I highly recommend it. Where's my Wild Child?!
