We knew we were going to be in Vista and wanted to try something new and the shining Yelp reviews are what convinced us to stop by! They were not exaggerating! This place is like if your favorite local coffee shop and bakery doubled as a delicious breakfast restaurant with fair prices for huge portions. The decor and ambiance were very nice and modern, plenty of deep wood tones to make it feel warm and inviting. We ordered a latte flight because their coffee drinks all sounded so good that we couldn't decide and we definitely don't regret it. We could tell each drink was crafted so intentionally because the flavors were very distinct and accurate to their menu descriptions, all without covering up the flavor of the espresso. The barista offered to let us know which drink was which once she served us, and I wouldn't shut up the whole time about how this place was made for people like us who love coffee and just want to try everything. I will be coming back for a full sized Spider Monkey (great spiced mocha flavor+loved the crunchy texture that's reminiscent of java chips!). We had the House Hash and Choriquiles which BLEW US AWAY COMPLETELY. There was so much flavor in the salsa and also in the side of beans. I'm talking about the kind of flavor that's punchy and addicting and just plain unforgettable. Shoutouts the cook on the egg station for making my sunny-side up eggs perfectly. You know their staff are at the top of their game when you order your dish with no sour cream and no avocado and a server (who did not take your order) notices they're missing from your plate and offers to have the kitchen remake it! I was so impressed by the level of scrutiny and immediacy, there's just no better way to show how great the service was. Everyone here is helpful, personable, and definitely cares for their customers and the quality they put out. First visit yet we already know we're going to become regulars. Silver big back breakfast is my favorite place to go to get double stuffed when I'm really hungry and don't want to go far or break the bank. Service here is top tier and the waiters stay holding it down putting up with nagging people always giving hard time. Great breakfast find, worth the wait! Coffee lovers- they have a flight of coffee on the menu. We arrived around 10am and waited about 40 minutes. There were 7 of us. They do have a couple chairs outside. Plenty of parking in the lot with street parking available if it's full. Very attentive staff which came around plenty of times when coffee was low. Our food arrived all at once which always provides for a positive experience. The coffee was great and the food was wonderful. I will definitely be eating here again. Have been here a few times, always delicious. I appreciate that if you have to wait, they take your number and text you when a table is ready. Usually see it at larger places, awesome they do it here. The host was so amazing, explaining about the wait as many parties were sat recently which could result in a longer wait time. Since it was a little cold, we waited in the car, but thankfully the party of 2 before us opted not to wait and we were seated swiftly. Our server Joel was very attentive. The place is on the side of a strip of stores. I have never seen it in all the years I've lived here. The French toast here was really good. The home fries I felt were seasoned with a lot of Italian and were ok. The bacon was good but not mouth watering good. The staff was overly nice, asking about drinks over and over, not taking no for an answer. But at least he was trying to be helpful and he was always nice. The place has gorillas everywhere, hence the silverback name. A lot of the staff were very fit so I was wondering if having a silverback build was a prerequisite to work here. read more

If I could rate this higher than 5 stars I would! The thing that stands out far above anything else is the service. They checked on us many times and were extremely attentive. Friendly, easy going and flexible. There was a large party inside that was extremely loud so they offered to seat us outside which they normally don't have seating for. They were so nice and flexible! And let's not forget to mention the food. Absolutely incredible. My boyfriend and I got the cinnamon roll to start with as well the latte flight and everything was amazing!! Our mains were the south of the border skillet and the farmers benne. Both were 5 stars. Incredible flavor and nothing was over or undercooked. This is my absolutely favorite breakfast spot in the country and I've lived all over in many states. Came in for the first time the other day with a group of friends. This place came highly recommended by one of my friends in the group. We were told that it would be an hour wait for 6 people and we arrived around 11:30am. The interior is nice and clean, not enough seating though. I ordered the mommaback coffee half sweetened. It was still super sweet with the half sweet option, I can only imagine what the full sweetness tastes like. It was good but I probably won't order it again due to too much sweetness even when modified. The California omelette was good, but felt like something I could make at home. They did make my hash browns well done and they were very good I will say. The sourdough toast with grape jelly is always good. My husband loved his chili omelette and said he would eat it again. Everytime that we go here, we have a great experience. It's a hole in the wall joint that's has slowly gotten more and popular since it opened. We went here today and sat at the bar and had a great time talking to the staff and eating our food and drinking our flight of ice coffees, both were great. This was our first visit to Silverback. It's in an older strip mall and from the outside looks pretty basic. But once we walked in, we were surprised to find the place to be very comfortable with a modern atmosphere. We were greeted by a very personable server (Cesar) who took our coffee order. We both had lattes off of their very extensive coffee menu. I would give the lattes a 5 out of 5 stars on flavor alone. But they didn't skimp on portions either, nice big cups. They also have quite a large breakfast menu. I had the eggs, Benedict and hashbrowns. My wife had the French toast with eggs and bacon. Both were DELICIOUS with large portions. We had to use to-go boxes, but that's because we're older and don't eat as much anymore. This is definitely not your typical breakfast diner. The price is a little high, but you get what you pay for... and in this case that is definitely true! Good food, good service good atmosphere, all 5 star! read more
