    Compostable to go box
    Patty L.

The reviews say it all, this breakfast spot delivers with friendly service, delicious options, and a welcoming atmosphere. Our server was super considerate, not only with checking in but anticipating our needs, and actually conversing with us about our dining experience. I appreciated that the tables aren't packed too closely together. If anything, it was spacious. We can enjoy our meal without feeling closed in or overhearing other conversations. You can either dine in on a table or at the bar (about 5 stools for seating)....or to-go! We had to get a flight of the lattes. July featured the following 4 flavors, ranked from my favorite to least favorite: butterbeer, animal circus, apple pie, and smokes. But honestly it was just a matter of preference and they were all tasty. There were so many meals that caught our eyes. We ultimately went with Marco polo omelette, country fried steak, and silverback French toast. Flavorful, large-portions, and fresh ingredients. We got a to go box and they are compostable which made me appreciate the consideration to our environment. One of those places you don't want to overlook.

First time trying Silverback and it was great despite being super busy on a Saturday morning. The wait I was told was 45 mins but ended up only being about 15. The host and servers were super friendly. Ordered the Brisket has and eggs with an extra egg, an omelette with an extra side, fresh squeezed OJ, Coffee and a latte. All prepared beautifully and quickly. Multiple servers came around to top off coffee and waters while checking in on us. Added a giant cinnamon roll to go. We both left with plenty of leftovers. Overall a great experience and one to keep on the list to revisit regularly.

We had a great time at Silverback. We split an order of Country Fried Steak. They gave it to us in 2 plates. It was very tasty. I ordered a spider monkey latte & the coffee flight. Both were very good. The service was great with plenty of seating for a Saturday morning. There was plenty of parking on the strip mall.

Hours: Thursday-Sunday, 7 AM-1 PM. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Heard this place had great reviews and good coffee, so here we are! Silverback Breakfast & Cafe is a small, cozy spot, so expect a little wait outside. The coffee bar is really cool, the service is friendly, and the food is delicious. MUST TRY THE Country fried steak and their different styles of omelette. You're in for a treat coming here! Do not leave without trying the Coffee Surprise, Jungle Java, Spider Monkey, The Momma Back, and The Baboon. A fun breakfast cafe worth checking out.

SO GOOD! The silverback french toast is one of the best things I've ever eaten. It's a cinnamon roll dipped in french toast batter then grilled. Will definitely be coming back to get this! Super clean inside and the staff was really friendly.

Delicious every single time! Friendly staff! Love this spot We get the same waiter a lot, he's always happy and quick

We thought the meal was going to be small so we ordered an extra waffle.. Great prices and large portions.

Silverback Breakfast & Cafe in Vista is a standout local gem that consistently delivers a high-quality dining experience. As a weekly go-to, it has established itself as a reliable staple for a great meal. The atmosphere is significantly enhanced by the exceptional staff. Joel, a young man on the team, is remarkably cordial; his habit of proactively welcoming guests, even those not seated at his specific tables adds a personalized touch that makes every visit feel more like a community gathering than just a meal. The service is equally impressive, with servers like Valerie consistently providing top-tier care. Her ability to make guests feel special through attentive and professional service ensures a consistently positive experience. Whether you are there for the food or the hospitality, this cafe excels at making its regulars feel truly valued.

We knew we were going to be in Vista and wanted to try something new and the shining Yelp reviews are what convinced us to stop by! They were not exaggerating! This place is like if your favorite local coffee shop and bakery doubled as a delicious breakfast restaurant with fair prices for huge portions. The decor and ambiance were very nice and modern, plenty of deep wood tones to make it feel warm and inviting. We ordered a latte flight because their coffee drinks all sounded so good that we couldn't decide and we definitely don't regret it. We could tell each drink was crafted so intentionally because the flavors were very distinct and accurate to their menu descriptions, all without covering up the flavor of the espresso. The barista offered to let us know which drink was which once she served us, and I wouldn't shut up the whole time about how this place was made for people like us who love coffee and just want to try everything. I will be coming back for a full sized Spider Monkey (great spiced mocha flavor+loved the crunchy texture that's reminiscent of java chips!). We had the House Hash and Choriquiles which BLEW US AWAY COMPLETELY. There was so much flavor in the salsa and also in the side of beans. I'm talking about the kind of flavor that's punchy and addicting and just plain unforgettable. Shoutouts the cook on the egg station for making my sunny-side up eggs perfectly. You know their staff are at the top of their game when you order your dish with no sour cream and no avocado and a server (who did not take your order) notices they're missing from your plate and offers to have the kitchen remake it! I was so impressed by the level of scrutiny and immediacy, there's just no better way to show how great the service was. Everyone here is helpful, personable, and definitely cares for their customers and the quality they put out. First visit yet we already know we're going to become regulars. Truly an amazing first impression.

Have been here a few times, always delicious. I appreciate that if you have to wait, they take your number and text you when a table is ready. Usually see it at larger places, awesome they do it here. The host was so amazing, explaining about the wait as many parties were sat recently which could result in a longer wait time. Since it was a little cold, we waited in the car, but thankfully the party of 2 before us opted not to wait and we were seated swiftly. Our server Joel was very attentive. The food delicious and plentiful. The atmosphere is very cheerful and the best part is you can hear the other person in your party talk. Will be back again, hopefully soon.

The Carne Asada breakfast burrito must have for all you burrito lovers!
    Joe M.

If you are tired of subpar food in north County. LOOK NO FURTHER, the food is amazing (my personal favorite is the carne asada breakfast burrito) the flavor from spot on every time. The consistency is always 100%. And the coffee the best in town. This family owned and ran restaurant is amazing they have definitely built something special. There serves is over the top, it's runs like a well oiled machine they are all very kind from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave they make you feel welcome. And the ambience is cozy and very clean. I can say enough good things about this place. Try it for yourself you will not be disappointed..

    French toast, home fries, bacon
    Stephanie T.

The place is on the side of a strip of stores. I have never seen it in all the years I've lived here. The French toast here was really good. The home fries I felt were seasoned with a lot of Italian and were ok. The bacon was good but not mouth watering good. The staff was overly nice, asking about drinks over and over, not taking no for an answer. But at least he was trying to be helpful and he was always nice. The place has gorillas everywhere, hence the silverback name. A lot of the staff were very fit so I was wondering if having a silverback build was a prerequisite to work here.

    Their updated dining room
    Pete R.

We have been coming to Silverback since they opened and have never been disappointed! Friendly people, excellent food and a pleasant, open dining room. They updated the dining room a few months ago, here's a picture. Don't be fooled, it is often very busy. This was taken early on a Monday morning.

    Latte Flight
    Michelle R.

Everything here is delicious! Our waitress, Valerie, was super nice and attentive. I love how they have latte flights. Cute decorations on the walls. We had the house hash and eggs benedict. Both were delicious. My fiancé said it was the best hash he has had. Even the orange juice was ridiculous tasty.

I don't understand what is happening at Curbside Cafe…read more My wife and I eat out a lot. We've been to the trendy breakfast places. You know the places. Two-hour wait. Seventeen people standing on the sidewalk staring at their phones. Every table occupied. A hostess tells you, "We can text you when it's ready," like you're waiting for an organ transplant. Then two hours later you finally sit down and eat an egg that tastes... like an egg. Meanwhile, Curbside Cafe in Vista is over here serving possibly the best breakfast we've ever eaten IN OUR LIVES, and a quarter of the tables are empty. WHAT ARE WE DOING, PEOPLE? I had the crab cake Benedict. I'm not exaggerating when I say my wife and I just stared at each other after the first bite. Apparently they make the crab cakes in-house every morning. Of course they do. Because apparently this restaurant has decided to quietly make unbelievable food and tell absolutely nobody about it. Then we tried the Monte Cristo. I don't even know what this thing was. It was like somebody took a Monte Cristo, somehow baked the whole thing together inside this incredible pastry, and then decided, "Yeah, that seems good enough. Put it on the menu." GOOD ENOUGH?! The flavor was ridiculous. I've never eaten anything like it. Our kids ate their ENTIRE plates of waffles and sausage. Parents understand this is probably the strongest endorsement in this review. Getting children to finish an entire restaurant meal is harder than getting a reservation at one of those trendy brunch places. And the woman taking care of us couldn't have been friendlier. No attitude. No feeling like we should be grateful they allowed us into the building. Just genuinely nice people serving incredible food. Then she tells us we get a DISCOUNT because it's the weekend. Excuse me? A WEEKEND DISCOUNT? Every other restaurant has figured out how to charge me $6 more because it's Saturday. These people are apparently running their business backwards. And that's what makes this place so great. Curbside Cafe doesn't seem to know it's supposed to be pretentious. Nobody told them that when your food is this good, you're supposed to have a 90-minute wait, Edison bulbs hanging from the ceiling, a neon sign that says something like "BUT FIRST, BRUNCH," and a $24 plate with one egg leaning against a piece of toast. Instead, they just make insanely good food, charge reasonable prices, treat you nicely, and apparently DISCOUNT IT ON THE WEEKEND. The whole restaurant acts like this is completely normal. IT IS NOT NORMAL. I almost don't want to post this because right now I can apparently walk into one of the best breakfast places I've ever eaten at without sacrificing half my day waiting outside. But seriously, Vista... what are you people doing? GO EAT HERE. Just please leave one table open for us.

The omelet appeared liked a stuffed omelet, with it being higher vs longer/wider. I discovered there was a lot of cheese with the ham. I like cheese but this baby was Cheesy with a capital C. It was good though. Hashbrowns were cooked perfect for me. I always worry about overcooked or undercooked. I will be returning and recommend others give it a try if they haven't already.

I lasted Yelp reviewed in 2018. There still is a small counter for service inside along with four tables for four and one table for two. Six or so outside tables for service also. One table inside occupied and two outside when we entered. We were greeted by a very pleasant wait staff who were extremely helpful and efficient. We had waters, coffee, Tea, very quickly. Coffee was very good with an assortment of creamers to choose from. I ordered a special Omelet with Chorizo and cheese off their chock board. Side of fruit ($2.50 up charge) instead of potatoes along with Rye Toast. The Toast was just one slice of bread. $17. My better half had the pancake combo, two pancakes with two eggs over easy, one sausage patty. $14.50. We enjoyed the food and service. The prices were fair for the portions and quality of what we ordered. We will add Mom's back into our Vista rotation.

I have been going to Connie's for several years…read moredined outside etc. Met Coninie several times she showed us around and talked about all the wall goodies where they were from with MUCH pride she was a ball of joy!! BUT in the past year plus something has "drastically" changed in her personality, the last time I was in before this past week, she looked depressed and ready to give up, she said she was tired and her chef was out sick. I came very close to offering her a break and running her restaurant for a couple of weeks, FREE. I have many years of restaurant business, owned my own back in the day, and a great cook, so this would've been a piece of cake. I didn't but I decided to take a friend there last Wednesday from out of town. We sat down, she had a few tables but by no means busy, she came over to take our order, my friend ordered coffee, me water. She brought those like it was the toughest thing she had done that day, her energy was so DARK and ICCKY, I wanted to leave before we got started but we were hungry and had a big day planned. She was not the least bit FRIENDLY, I placed my order and asked if it would be possible to get my waffle after my main meal. If looks could "KILL", she glared disgustingly at me and said, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME" I didn't quite know what to say it was a very simple request I wasn't asking to substitute or anything other than A TIME DEAL. She huffed and puffed and said, "I have that big table out there so it's gonna be awhile". It was a 6 top, WHOOPEE! I said that's fine, my friend ordered and she walked away, I sat for a minute and thought HELL NO, I will not be treated this way by anyone especially the owner of the restaurant and subject my friend to her ICKYNESS on her vacation! So I got up walked over to her open kitchen and said, "I think we will go somewhere we feel more wanted". she looked up glared and said fine! We started to walk out and she came out and said $3.00 for the coffee, like she was A DRILL SARGENT! I would have said, bleep, bleep, bleep BUT..... MY friend hadn't even touched it but put the $3.00 down and asked for a to go cup. That made her even madder, my firend said, tough day?AND her excuse yet again was her cook was sick. Sorry lady that only works for awhile and why was that our problem. I personally think it's time for her to retire with that attitude! We decided to go down to our new local restaurant "BLACK BEAR DINER"! What a great experience, had an excellent meal and service was awesome too. Will never return to Connie's NEGATIVE diner. Head the warning!
