Cute little place with tables and chairs and some booths. You order your food at the counter and then they bring it to you. They don't check on you after that however. I got the farmhouse medley I think it was called, which was one of their specials for the day. It was eggs, bacon, cheese, avocado, and tomatoes. It also came with home potatoes and an English muffin. I could have also chosen cottage cheese or fruit instead of the potatoes and it gave me a few options of bread as well. Fresh self-serve coffee in a big mug also made me happy. Go up to the register to order and then they serve it at your table. If you're a Vista local or even in the surrounding areas of Carlsbad or San Marcos, this little spot is totally worth it. It's the PERFECT little lunch or breakfast spot. So many good offerings as well as daily/weekly specials they post at the register. Now I understand Denny's is a "go to" for many people, what I'm saying is quit wasting your money on Denny's and come grab some food that has heart. The plates and portions do not disappoint. Husband found this place and based on today, it's a breakfast keeper! For starters, it was Sunday at 1:30pm and we were so glad they serve breakfast till they close (at 2pm)! Two of us chose omelettes, one had a breakfast burrito. The food including the veggies and the avocados was so fresh and as good as "made at home"! The tortilla was even a wheat tortilla!!! The 'salsa' was good. They serve both regular and dark roast brewed coffee. They do sell espresso drinks but we don't try those this time. What a pleasant surprise! My boyfriend and I came on a Sunday afternoon around 12, it was very clean in there. They were busy but there were some tables available. You have to order at the counter and take a number to your table. Food arrived in a timely manner. The food was very fresh, hot and nothing was overly greasy. We noticed that the food did not taste like canola oil, most places fry everything in canola oil but not here! Potatoes were pan sautéed, yum! We will definitely be returning! They also serve fresh juice! I got the veggie hash and will most likely order this again. They have a nice assortment of coffee and teas to choose from.
