Not sure if the air conditioning was broken or if this is just how it always is but the inside of the restaurant was hotter than the outside of the building. Like my friend and I were sweating while just looking at the menu. Eventually it got to the point where we stopped eating halfway and just left to go eat back at their house because we were both sweating bullets eating hot soup in a humid 80-90 degree room. Aside from that, the pho was pretty good-not great. Also I usually prefer the soup to come with lime slices instead of lemon slices, but that's more a personal preference rather than an indictment. read more

Located in a busy shopping plaza is this little pho shop that was a pleasant surprise to my friend and I! We stopped in and were surprised at the portion sizes of their pho bowls! Service was pleasant, and the speed of food delivery from ordering was so fast! I ordered a rare steak pho but the steak slices looked more well than rare, not like cooking the meat in the hot broth itself. Not an issue, it was still delicious! I did enjoy the lighter broth flavor, it didn't have a strong anise flavor lost pho places I have been to usually has. I placed a to go order here as they are located on my way home from work. I ordered spring rolls, green tea and vietnamese coffee. Service at the pick up area was great. Fast and friendly. The restaurant appears to be nice and clean. The drinks were excellent and we really enjoyed them. The spring rolls were also good but I did feel that the peanut sauce was a tad bit too sweet. Like a cross modern between Pho House, Yummy Pho and Pho Oceanside. Modern ordering, clean menu and open kitchen it's quite different than established places. The Pho Dac Biet(Xe Lua) is the most popular and what I like is they don't skimp on the meatballs, but I have to ask for extra tripe. The broth is middle of the road clear, but clean and doesn't need much but salt and you can ask for extra fat. They don't have pickled onions/garlic which is my preferred additional accoutrement. For the love of God people, please stop dumping hoisin and sriracha/sambal into the broth. It's meant to be dipped into on the side, just at least try the broth first. Once you've had good broth or dipped you'll understand why dumping drastically alters what true pho is. The spring rolls are good, but could be a cleaner wrap. Nice herbs and I wish they had nem nuong. French fries is a very weird thing despite it's world wide popularity. The bahn mi's are a little bland as I'd like more of everything, they are more of a snack and almost $9. $ fo $ I still prefer the commercialized Lee's since most places around here don't fill me up. I like heavy pate, butter cut mayo, maggi, cold cuts. I wish the fried calamari was salt and pepper and/or breaded a little more. The vermicelli dishes are good, but should be priced less than the Pho considering ingredients/cook/prep. They once charged me for extra sauce which I wasn't a fan of considering it's mixed and not made. The rice dishes aren't advertised as broken rice, which is my preferred style and considering it has salad should also be less than the pho. The Chow fun/mein are an odd, but nice touch. If someone wanted stir fried noodles there are better places to get it. With KBBQ short ribs, but no bun bo hue I'm a little skeptical. They do quite a few things well, but fail at the things that would put them over the top and dethrone current kings in the area. Service is hot or cold as I prefer the no nonsense style of older shops, but like the design and amenities of newer shops. All in all it's a decent spot, but with a pho spot in the same center closing recently and not much differentiating itself it will remain my backup. read more

We ordered this to-go and the attention was really in the details! The rare steak was perfectly packed separately, which I appreciated! * Kids pho is complimentary, but the broth was lacking. Not sure what kind of broth it was - but maybe chicken broth or something simple would be better. My kids typically like pho but weren't excited about it here. Best Vietnamese restaurant in the area. My family and I came here 2x on our vacation. My daughter loved it the first time and so we came back the second time. She loved the beef chow mein and ordered it twice. My husband tried the chow fun and he loved it too. I ordered beef pho with meatballs and it was delicious. We've been driving all the way to Pho Cow in Mira Mesa for years because we used to live near the 56 fwy area. But now, we've finally found the perfect Vietnamese restaurant right here in Oceanside--it might even be the best in town! We drove over one hour to have this Pho after they moved away and it is STILL hands down the best pho we have ever had. Nothing compares to the depth of flavor in their broth. We've tried other places over time, but nothing even comes close. It's one of those meals you keep thinking about after you leave. Even though they're now over an hour away from us, we made the trip today and it was 100% worth it. That should say everything! I ordered the pork banh mi, and it was SO good. The bread was perfect, the flavors were fresh and balanced, and the pork was delicious. My daughter got the Korean BBQ plate and absolutely loved it too. Their drinks are just as amazing. The Thai iced tea is delicious, and I always look forward to their jasmine tea, which is my personal favorite.
