We were in the Vista area and had lunch at this Vietnamese restaurant. It met all the check boxes as far as the location where we needed to be and it had plenty of positive reviews. It's a good size dining room with many tables and a few booths. The service was very friendly. It looked like a small family owned business. We arrived early during lunch on a Sunday and was one of the only groups there. But it did fill up pretty quickly after that! We started off with appetizers and probably ordered a little too much. The seasoned cucumbers looked interesting so we got an order of those. It ended up being big chunks of cucumbers in a soy sauce marinade. It was just alright and not super tasty or anything. I have to admit, I have made more flavorful cucumbers at home. Perhaps it was the type of cucumber which was not my favorite. They used regular American cucumbers instead of English or Persian cucumbers, which I prefer. We also ordered the fish sauce fried chicken wings. They were decent but nothing to write home about. We also had a couple orders of eggrolls. Of the three appetizers, this one was the tastiest. The one thing I wish they provided with the egg rolls is lettuce and herbs to wrap the egg rolls with. Instead, there was a little side of pickled cabbage and carrots. For our main entrées, we ordered bun bo hue. It was pretty good and I finished most of it. It came with your basic items and not a lot of meat. There was no pork hock or anything like that. Tendon was probably the most different type of meat in there. We also had the combination fried rice, vermicelli noodles and grilled pork, and broken rice with grilled pork with a fried egg. Sure, I'd return if I was in the area again and craving Vietnamese food.
Such a great first experience at Pho Truc Xanh! This was my first time trying pho, and I'm so glad we chose this place. We ordered the A-13 Gỏi Cuốn Rau (fresh vegetable spring rolls), P-9 Phở Tái Chín (rare steak and well-done steak pho) and a mango tea with boba. Everything was so good! The pho was flavorful and fresh, and the spring rolls with the peanut sauce were delicious. The customer service was just as amazing as the food. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I especially loved seeing how people who came in were greeted by name and treated like family. You can tell this is the kind of neighborhood spot people come back to again and again. Definitely a 5-star experience, and we'll be back!
While on the search for great quality pho in North County, both TikTok and Yelp pointed us to this spot in San Marcos. Some standout qualities were the fantastic service and the great proportions. Some extras we ordered were extra lettuce wraps for the egg rolls, and the nuoc beo, which added a slight richness to the pho broth. The servers were very engaged with each customer, including us, which is always a nice touch. We look forward to coming back soon!
We came here for dinner and enjoyed orange chicken, vermicelli with grilled pork and egg rolls, steamed vegetables, and chicken pho. The service is very friendly, quick, and attentive. The staff checked on us multiple times. You can tell this is a place regulars turn up to, as several customers seemed to know the staff well and vice versa. They have a wide variety of dishes on the menu, which is nice. Ambiance is casual. They have TVs playing sports and cartoons for the kids.
It's been awhile since we've been here and we've definitely missed out. Went with the fam this evening at 6:00pm and was able to be seated promptly. Everything like the decor, food and especially the customer service was exactly how it was the last time we went, so that in itself was impressive. The employees are so kind and efficient and Trina is the absolute best. Even after not being there in a long time, she remembered us and what we usually order! She is amazing. We ordered our Pho's, Spring rolls and my usual Bun Bo Hue. Every dish continues to be so delicious and full-flavored. Nothing lacking. We also ordered Thai teas which was refreshing and so tasty. It's always a hit when we go. We'll be back!
We came here for Father's Day and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The service was exceptional. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great meal. They even boxed up our leftovers for us which was such a thoughtful touch and treated us with some free desserts since it was a holiday. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a nice ambiance. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted very authentic. We loved the Vietnamese dishes since that's our ethnicity. But it's great that they also offer some Chinese and Thai options on the menu. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful and clearly made with care. One thing that really stood out was how accommodating they were to my mom, who is diabetic. They kindly substituted extra vegetables in place of noodles for her without any issues. We really appreciated their willingness to help and make sure she could enjoy her meal. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and excellent food. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town and can't wait to try more dishes from the menu!

Fresh, spicy and oh so tasty!!! The eggs rolls were so crispy and delicious and this jalapeños had a nice kick. Highly recommended B4 for your next order.

This is my new favorite pho spot in north county!! I can't believe I didn't try this place sooner. Not only is the food delicious, but their service is amazing! All the aunties there are so sweet and they actually care about you. It's a true family restaurant. For food you MUST get the bun bo hue, I got it with the spare rib and it's so good. I love spicy and all of the flavors were there. If spicy ain't your thing, get pho. Can't go wrong with pho when you're hungover. It is sooo good, and for spicy lovers you can't forget their house made saté! It's so flavorful with fragrent lemongrass I can honestly drink it lol. My hubby got their salt and pepper pork and he said it was so mouthwatering good. You'll def see us here more often.
Best Pho spot in Vista. I love coming to this place as the owner makes you feel like family. They are all super friendly and have an intimate knowledge of all their customer. The pho is so authentic that it feels like I'm eating my mother in laws homemade pho! Service is fast and the best part is if you have leftovers the server will pack it for you, you don't have to do it yourself like most restaurants. I love this place!!
We came for dinner on a rainy Friday night, and it was packed! There was around a 30 minute wait for a table, and for good reason. The food & the service are both top notch. We ordered the tofu spring rolls, a large chicken pho, and a large pho with rare beef. The rice paper on the spring rolls had the perfect amount of chew, and the accompanying peanut sauce had great flavor and texture. My chicken pho came with the fragrant beef broth, which didn't need any additional seasonings or sauces. I loved that each slurp had green onion in it, and the rice noodles had a nice chewy texture. Both soups came with lots of meat, especially evident in the steak pho. The servers were all so friendly, treating each table like neighbors or good friends. You can tell they all work well together and enjoy their work. The ambiance is cute, from the floral ceiling lights to the hand painted art on the walls. If it's busy, make sure to write your name on the clipboard to save your spot in line.

Always friendliest service. Pho hit the spot today. The sever was talking loudly (Vietnamese) into the kitchen window then paused shortly and looked back in the window and yells "to go!" I laughed at that one. Good crowd in this Sunday lunch. CritDicks read more
This is still my favorite Vietnamese and phǒ place in North County. I always enjoy everything I order and I try different things all the time. We come back every few months and they always recognize us. They always keep my water filled and sometimes even offer us and other tables free soup to take with us to go at the end of the night, so it doesn't go to waste. When they give you the bill they give you these delicious little candies that are addictive. It's always packed too which says a a lot. We got lucky on this visit because they're on vacation from 21 July to August 15 and we happen to come on the 20th. So we were able to get our fill. I wish them well. We look forward to our next visit because what I had this time I want again soon. read more

This is the most delicious pho around! I ordered the P15 and my husband ordered the P2, both were amazing (we tasted each others of course)! The beef rib was fall off the bone and the meat was so tender. But most of all the service was out of this world! All of the servers were attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We saw the servers knew a lot of the guests and so we thought there must be a lot of regulars here. It was family friendly (there were lots of families dining there) and they played a family friendly movie for the kids to watch while eating. The restaurant was spacious and the decor was inviting. I loved how the table had all of the utensils, napkins, and sauces ready for you. Great experience, and we will be back! read more
Pho Truc Xanh in Escondido is a cute little spot with some lovely decor touches that make the experience feel colorful and inviting. The rare steak pho was solid and comforting, with thick savory noodles that were hands-down my favorite part--chewy and satisfying in every bite. I tried the spring rolls too, but didn't love the flavor of the marinated beef in them--just a little too sweet for my taste. Everything else tasted fine overall, nothing mind-blowing but decent and filling. The menu is impressively large, so it seems like there's something for everyone. The vibe inside is super colorful and artsy, with colorful lanterns hanging overhead and paintings lining the walls. There's a big parking lot right outside too, so no need to stress about that, which is a win. If you're coming with a group, this could be a nice middle-ground spot where everyone can find something to enjoy. It's the kind of place where I'd maybe come again if I was nearby, especially for the pho. The broth has a clean taste that doesn't feel heavy, which I really appreciate. It feels like a solid neighborhood spot--not a destination place, but reliable. I wouldn't rave about it to out-of-towners, but I'd definitely meet a friend here for a low-key lunch. I haven't been here in a while but the quality is still just as good. I got the pho xruc or whatever it was called, which tasted really good. It came with chicken, noodles, and veggies. Was enough to fill me up and still have some leftovers. The staff were very nice and patient. The place definitely isn't as nice looking as the Escondido place, but they do a nice job with their decorations. read more

Tried their salt & pepper pork chop rice plate and it was so bomb. Crunchy & savory especially after getting a side of the fish sauce and dipping it in there. Delicious pickled veggies on the side just 10/10 Amazing service per usual, I love all the friendly and funny workers here. Every time I go they just make you feel so welcome! Also their hot & sour soup was literally perfect, exactly how I like mine. read more

Although the wait was long everyone was so friendly and checking in on us, they even brought us egg drop soup for the wait time. The spring rolls weren't as fresh but still very good, the vermicelli noodles with beef were amazing and the egg rolls here are a MUST! We are definitely coming back here. read more
Probably one of the best pho restaurants in sd county. The pho flavor here is very rich and they pack their bowls with a ton of meat. The service is incredible for a pho restaurant. They ask you how you are doing and are able to make you feel like a valued customer. The ambiance feels like your local restaurant as everyone eating there was almost a local. The staff knew many people by first name. I would definitely come back. read more

Wanted a hearty meal on the way back from the Safari Park, so I checked for places online and saw that this restaurant has great reviews. Arrived to find a nice, clean, spacious dining room that was already filling up by 5 PM! Super-friendly service, which might be one reason why so many of the customers seemed to be regulars--they were greeted by name and the staff knew their usual orders. We got very generous portions of tasty food and left satisfied. The grilled pork and the pork chop were a tad dry, but overall, it was a good experience. The soups and smoothie drinks and noodles were all yummy and This sandwich is So unusual (to me) but oh so yummy. You will have leftovers. Also they tie up your soups vice wellfor traveling home. And bonus they give these little candies that are the perfect sweet. I'm not a fan of candies because the unhealthiness it's not worth it, but these are my favorite and worth the unhealthiness ;). read more

The food is good but not a wow good. Also, prices are high. We came here for the good ratings. They were busy. The egg rolls were $13.50 for 6 and they don't give you lettuce to wrap your egg roll. They brought us the sweet chili sauce but we asked for fish sauce. I like the egg rolls more than my husband did. He said he had better. My husband ordered a grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich. He said it was ok. They put a lot of mayonnaise on it. My husband poured some fish sauce in the sandwich and it made it better. This is $11.99 Two pork and shrimp spring rolls were $9.50. This was average but I like that they put rice noodles in them. The peanut sauce was a little watery but not bad. I normally don't order pho (noodle soup) unless I know it's good but i decided to try theirs. It was good about the same as Pho neighbors in Lake Elsinore or better and I only eat pho there. $13.99 for a small bowl. I love how they gave me thick pieces of tendons. Loved it. Good portion of meat was given. My husband requested that his Vietnamese coffee be made with no sweetener, just coffee and half and half. They did good. My regular Vietnamese coffee was good. Ambiance was ok, decorations were kinda nice. They charge you 3% if you use a credit card. read more

It's been 10 years since my last review and I wanted to say that this spot is still 5 stars in my book! A classic with me and all my homies. I came here when I graduated with my Masters a long time ago and it was a memorable experience. Since they moved to Vista I haven't been as much but today I went with my cousin and they remembered us which I love. The ladies are great and always make me laugh. Them and the food keeps me coming back after all these years My cousin got grilled pork lo mein and the bite I tried was so flavorful. He ordered a 10 level spice but it didn't feel that hot to me and I can't do hot. We shared the crispy pork and shrimp egg rolls which are as good as I remember. I got the wonton soup with noodles and everything in it was perfection. Got some grilled beef and egg roll vermicelli to go for my boyfriend too and they threw some egg drop soup in the bag for us too. Love the decor inside and the authentic music. I will always come back to PTX! read more

Yes! There are several items and all delicious. Staff is very helpful and knowledgeable with any dietary restrictions.

Yes, all except for vegetarian soups (and those are gross, not what you expect it to be)

No! They don't! lol we came here because of the "yes" posted in here but nope. Per server- they never have. Pho- yes. Egg Foo Young- no
