We had the rare steak pho, rare steak & tendon pho, and a bowl of rice porridge -- all comforting, well-prepared, and satisfying. The pho broth was clean, aromatic, and full of flavor without being overly greasy. The rare steak was tender, and the tendon was soft and gelatinous, soaking up the broth perfectly. You can tell the broth is well-crafted, which makes a big difference. I ordered take out. I have been craving chao ga (chicken rice porridge) but I am too lazy to make it even though it's pretty easy. I was looking online and saw this place has it. So I called for pick up. IT IS DELICIOUS. I cannot believe I didn't know about this place. I want to come back to try their other dishes. I wanted to share my recent experience at your restaurant, which was unfortunately quite disappointing. The service was extremely lacking. The man taking our order rushed through it so quickly that I had to shout out the rest of my order across the room. When I asked for hot oil sauce, he said he didn't have any available today and you can tell he was lying. After that, he sat behind his desk and never returned, not even to check on us or bring the bill. I was left feeling ignored and could have easily walked out without paying. I was the only person and table the entire time. The overall energy and service were poor, and I would not recommend this place to others. I hope you can address these issues for future guests. I really wanted to love this place considering my relative recommends it but I may need a couple more visits especially trying different things on the menu to see if I may be convinced. Came on a weekday during lunch and it was empty. This is definitely the type of place where you will need to either flag the worker down or go up to the counter if you want something during your meal, I wouldn't wait on them to come to you (at least this was my experience). Our server was an Asian gentleman probably in his 30s. I did need to approach him when I needed extra bowls and at the end of a meal for a to go container and both times he was not friendly, seemed bothered if anything. So service wise probably one of my least favorite experiences/places. The restaurant itself though was quiet with no AC but plenty of overhead fans plus the restaurant itself gets a lot of shade. I ended up trying the shrimp fried rice and vermicelli noodles with grilled shrimp and vegetarian egg rolls. The fried rice was the best part of the meal (the rice itself was tasty) but I will say the shrimp they use in their dishes although the pieces are huge it was not tender but rather hard. The vermicelli was okay but their vegetarian egg rolls have a particular taste to it I couldn't figure out what it was. The others tried their pho and seemed to really enjoy. I will give them credit on this though - their servings are huge and the prices are quite reasonable considering. There's plenty of parking here as it's on a shared lot with various other business including a Sharetea if you need dessert afterwards lol. read more

The food are delicious, they have lots of options. I dined 3 days in a row and tried different dishes on each day, i brought my friends to have lunch and they liked it. My friends even mentioned that they will be back to dine again even though they are from the south of San Diego. We ordered the buttered fried quail, goat curry, pho, escargot in coconut milk/curry. I wish they can serve hot vietnamese coffee, they only served iced coffee w/c me and my friends are not into iced coffee. The service is okay, they are friendly and accomodating. I wanted to love it. I ordered and came in to meet a sweet lady behind the counter. My food was ready quick and the price was totally reasonable. I got home and assembled my phone and found noodles that just aren't my fav. They are a thicker noodle that end up with a mushy consistency when you put them in the broth. Really hate to update my review but this is only because I found it unacceptable how the young guy that attended me gave me something expired. I ordered two Thai teas and he said he would have them ready, as I was talking to my sibling I kept noticing he was turning around and looking at us. Wasn't sure why until he served us and we left and when we were in the car we could taste the rancid acidic taste of the tea. I'm not sure who the young guy was but I usually don't see him, it's usually an older man but I hope they bring this to his attention. This experience has pushed me away from going again. I ordered the house pho thinking it might be well rounded but it was missing meatball, the beef meat was a bit too fatty from what I'm accustomed at other pho places. The belly tougher than normal. The noodles were cut and were a very small portion. Not the best pho I've had really, below average I would say. I also ordered the Calamari because it looked very interesting in the menu presentation but was also a total disappointment . The thing was super salty, no matter how much lime I threw at it, or how much I dipped it in the sweet sauce, the salt was eating my tongue. I did talk to the owner about it and he did say next time order it with less salt lol so I will leave no less than a 3 star, because at least there's flexibility, but food was a 2 for sure. Service was alright, 7/10. The owner or front desk gentleman took my order pretty fast, but when I ordered coffee he failed to tell me that they did not serve hot coffee, when in the menu it did say hot or cold. So he brought me a cold brew coffee, when I asked for hot he seemed bothered and said they didn't serve any and he could very well take it back. To which he did. To begin, I am not a pho fan. If I want some tasty soup I would probably go to a good Mexican restaurant for it like Norte in Carlsbad or Los Charros in Escondido. Because for a painfully admit to say the last 45 to 50 years since I discovered Vietnamese food there's only one dish that I can ever bring myself to order, Bun Thit Nuong, which is a rice vermicelli dish topped with several different tasty things including barbecued pork finished with some very tasty fish sauce, which deserves a much more appetizing name. Pho 4 queen serves the best and most consistent sample of this dish that I have found in many years and for that I give them a happy five stars. First of all, dont let the ambiance of this place fool you. This place has the best pho out of North County area. The portion is huge, and they serve with soft flat nice noodle (closer to the authentic pho noodle). I have been there a few times, and every time I ordered something new to try out besides the Pho. Stating with the pho I love that they have the thicker noodles and they serve a solid amount of noodles and beef! Me and my gf were able to share the bowl and eggrolls and be fulfilled.
