36. Pad Thai Noodle
Joriene M.

Chicken Pad Thai ($14.95) - I loved the balance of sweet, savory, and spicy in this Pad Thai. Their spice levels are great and I look forward to trying more dishes here!

Small no frills Thai restaurant in a strip mall. Food was delicious. Plenty of parking. No atmosphere. There were several "To Go" orders while we were dining in the restaurant. Prices are reasonable. Server was attentive. Very tender chicken in both of our dishes

Tiny place, only 6 small tables inside. The owner is nice, but the lady seems short and not warm or friendly at all. We ordered the spicy chicken lemongrass, medium spice, a lunch sized pad Thai with chicken and added veggies, level 10 spice and a papaya salad, medium spice level. $42.94 The lunch pad Thai comes with a small cup of their Tom Yum soup, which is quite good. The papaya salad is more sweet and has a bit of heat, tastes good, not too fishy either. The pad Thai is good, hot for sure. A bit off there's cauliflower for the veggie added, would have expected broccoli instead. The spicy chicken lemongrass is quite bland. I see the lemongrass in it, but it's not a prominent flavor and tastes like every other Pad brown sauce dish. I realized after the fact that I was so disappointed with my dish that I failed to ever get a picture of it it at all, only the aftermath of eating the chicken off the end of cabbage was all I was able to get. The spring roll that came with the pad Thai lunch dish is an afterthought, mostly the wonton breading and empty.

We ordered delivery. I requested a 9/10 for my eggplant and tofu dish, but I'd say it was maybe a 3 or 4/10. Still tasty, though. The lemongrass chicken had many giant chunks of lemongrass in it, which were inedible. And they forgot to send our coffee, which was a bummer. My favorite item, however, was this tapioca dessert!! YUM! Overall, I'd go back. Maybe we'll dine in next time.

I recently popped into this unassuming spot. There was only one other table of diners and I wasn't sure what to expect. But we were welcomed in at 2:15 even though they end lunch service at 3. I ordered the red curry lunch special that comes with a bowl of Tom Yum soup, an egg roll, salad and rice. I was blown away by how flavorful the curry was. I could tell they used very fresh ingredients. My daughter enjoyed her duck soup as well! The staff was pleasant and the older man said to take our time. I will definitely come back when I'm in the area!

See ew noodles with chicken. Nice, wide noodles, plenty of chicken and flavor. Solid dish.

This is a solid Thai restaurant. At this time, they are only doing takeout. The place is very small and is located in a strip mall. Service was very friendly. There's plenty of free parking in the lot. The tom kha soup with shrimp was very good. There wasn't a lot of shrimp but there was plenty of flavor. It's a little sweet, a little sour, and a little spicy, depending on how spicy you want it. It's perfect on a cold night. The dumplings appetizer comes with a sweet soy sauce and is a nice starter. The see ew noodles with chicken was also solid. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are decent. It's not amazing food but I have no complaints at all. Everything tasted fresh and had plenty of flavor. I'd be happy to try them again. The food was ready almost exactly at the time promised and they seemed pretty busy at the time with lots of phone orders. You could see how hard they were working to get the food out. It's appreciated.

The sticky rice was as good as I imagined, but the satay was a fabulously pleasant surprise. Not only was the chicken tender, it was a generous potion of breast meat on each of the four sticks. The accompanying peanut sauce was also good and not too sweet. This was a spur of the moment choice while I was in the area, so I didn't order until I walked in. The lady who took my order and payment was very nice and had a warm, caring smile. This Wednesday night there was a steady stream of pickup orders, walk-in to-go orders, like me, and customers dining in. I only waited about 15mins and received a discount for paying cash. While waiting, I admired the low light, intimate setting with plenty of room for couples or groups. The decor was festive for the holidays, but also beautiful Thai touches. A very nice space. Other dishes coming from the kitchen to the dining room also looked delicious and I would love to come back when visiting this area again. Cheers! "CC"

I wanted to eat there, but they packed my entrees in a to-go container. Not sure if that is very environmentally conscious. The water is still great! No obvious tap taste! The neutral gendered bathroom is clean. There's always a drain fly though. The hand soap was watered down. I didn't like that. There's usually no customers when I go. Customer service was great as the employee made me feel welcome while taking my order. The dining room is simply decorated but still done professionally unlike some other restaurants in the area. Music wasn't too loud and lighting isn't too bright or too dim. I ordered pineapple curry with chicken, and proceeded to devour it. The curry had decent kick but was also rich in flavor. Rice was nice and fluffy despite being late in the evening right before closing. Next time I visit, I will definitely try out the Lao cuisine as I haven't tried it before. I didn't order a drink this visit but I intend to next time just to see how their Thai tea or boba is. I would definitely recommend this place if you're in the area. Parking is free and easy enough, but the donut shop in front of the restaurant has a flickering light which may irritate some people's eyes. Thai food is almost everywhere in San Diego now but not every shop has fantastic flavor. This place is worth revisiting though.

Deceptive business practices or terrible business acumen?…read more Panya Thai Kitchen is/was our favorite Thai restaurant in Escondido until it came time to pay. We were a group of six diners. We asked that four of the orders be on one check and the other two orders on a separate check; no problem. My issues arose once the bill (1st photo) arrived. The bill included a 20% Service Charge. This fee wouldn't have been a concern had this Service Charge policy been noted on the menu or somewhere diners could be made aware. We usually tip a minimum of 20% + depending on the service. The lack of transparency could be an oversight. My second, and more concerning, issue was when we received the bill (2nd photo) to sign for the CC charge. This bill showed the amount owed including the service charge all in one total, not itemized. My concern was that on the bottom of this ticket was an area that showed how much a 18%, 20%, 22% tip would be even though a tip was already included in the total. If a diner wasn't paying attention to the first bill they wouldn't realize a tip was already given and another tip might be paid. All I ask is for transparency!

My husband and I tried this Thai restaurant for the first time after seeing its impressive 4.7/5…read morerating from 332 reviews, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. It's officially our new favorite Thai spot -- even though it's an hour's drive from home. Truly worth the trip. We started with the $18 sampler platter, which was such a great value. It came with three of each item: onion rings, coconut shrimp, dumplings, crab rangoons, and egg rolls. Everything was perfectly crunchy and flavorful, and it stayed crunchy the whole time. The crab rangoon especially stood out -- generously filled instead of the tiny smear we're used to elsewhere. I ordered a $6 matcha milk tea (no boba), served in a huge to‑go cup. It was smooth, lightly sweet, and had a lovely hint of jasmine that made it feel extra special. For my entrée, I had the $15 chicken pad thai (spice level 1), and it was phenomenal -- easily one of the best I've ever had. All the classic flavors were perfectly balanced: peanut, lime, green onion, tamarind, fish sauce, and that touch of palm or brown sugar. My husband ordered the $15 chicken yellow curry, and the portion size surprised him -- he's used to small servings that leave him wanting more, but this one was generous and satisfying. His rice came shaped like a heart, which was such a cute touch. He said the curry was incredibly delicious and the best he's had anywhere aside from what we make at home. His only small gripe was that he wished the potatoes were cooked a little softer, but it didn't take away from how much he enjoyed it. The ambiance was beautiful -- a well‑maintained space filled with classy Thai décor that made the whole experience feel warm and inviting. The staff were friendly, attentive, and checked on us frequently without hovering. Overall, everything was delicious, the prices were great, and the entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. We loved it here and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area!
