I had just left a review a couple weeks ago, I came in again today and the service was still great! But unfortunately the temperature inside really affected the experience. It was extremely hot and uncomfortable the entire time we were there. It honestly felt like there was little to no AC, and it was hard to fully enjoy the experience. After asking an employee about the AC I learned that it is broken, which made the heat make sense. I feel bad for the workers as I was only in there for about 30 minutes and was able to feel how much the heat affected me. After looking at the AC I saw it was 99 degrees in there. I can only imagine how they feel while working! Hopefully this is something they can fix because otherwise it could be a much more enjoyable place for customers and the employees! :) read more

1 Star | Absolutely Horrible Customer Service! I honestly cannot believe how terrible this experience was. We placed an order through DoorDash totaling over $100 for two sandwiches and coleslaw, and what did we receive? ONE sandwich that wasn't even what we ordered! Both sandwiches we actually ordered were missing, along with the coleslaw. As frustrating as that was, the worst part was how we were treated when we called the restaurant to get it resolved. The manager was unbelievably rude, blamed us for the mistake, and essentially accused us of lying! Rather than apologizing or offering to fix the order, the manager tried to suggest that DoorDash had stolen our food. Seriously? The bag arrived SEALED, and the ONE sandwich inside wasn't even something we ordered! How exactly is that DoorDash's fault? We spent over $100 and received almost none of the food we paid for. Not once did the manager apologize, take responsibility, or make any attempt to correct the situation. Instead, we were treated like we were the problem! Mistakes happen, but the way a business handles those mistakes says everything about its customer service. This was beyond unacceptable. I've rarely experienced such rude, dismissive, and unprofessional treatment from a restaurant manager. To spend over $100, receive a completely incorrect order, and then be accused of lying when calling for help is absolutely outrageous. ZERO accountability. ZERO customer service. ZERO effort to make things right. Absolutely awful experience. We will never order from here again, and I would strongly recommend thinking twice before spending your money at this restaurant. read more

It is lunchtime and you only have two people working and taking online orders with 11 people waiting for sandwiches for 20 minutes. The owner needs to wake up....hire employees! You are going to talk to management when you are the owner. Your manager was not working during lunch hours or peak business hour. read more

Let's start with the food. We had the French dip and Smoked Brisket...wow! Bangin' with flavor, fresh ingredients, and quality meat. Was visiting Double Peak Park with my mom on Saturday morning and decided to pick up some lunch before heading home. Hadn't been in San Elijo Hills in years so decided to drive through and decided on Sourdough & Co. The menu looked extensive and wanted to try a lot but settled on the pesto turkey sandwich, tuna salad sandwich, clam chowder, and chili. Got it to-go and when we finally tasted the food, was more than satisfied. The house spread in the sandwich was perfect. Staff was welcoming and interior was pleasantly spacious. Small parking lot but still able to park in it at the time. read more

This is the best sourdough sandwich I've tasted in a long time. I tried the turkey sandwich with their special sauce. #8 special. The pickle on the side was very fresh and crispy. I plan on going back because it's rare to be completely be satiated in both tummy and taste buds. The 3 girls working the counter were very friendly. Food here has always been good! However the service I received today 11/20/2025 is sooo disappointing! I called in a fairly sized lunch order at 9:30am for pick up at 11:45am of the same day. While on my way to pick up my order the called and I was told they haven't started making it yet because they haven't received payment. They told me they sent a link for payment which they did, this link had no mention of the restaurant or anything. It simply was a link asking for payment. No receipt, no name... So of course I didn't click on the link. That being said the young woman at the register wanted to argue saying they sent me a link for payment which I proceeded to polite ask her when was the last time you clicked on a link asking for payment that had zero details on it. To make matters ever better I am presenting a safety meeting at my work, guess who is supplying the lunch, ME! So, needless to say I'm not happy at all. I politely asked them if they could mention that payment is needed over the phone to the next costumer to avoid this disaster. The cracked black pepper turkey sandwich was delicious. It was jam packed with turkey and the bread was delicious. The bbq chicken flatbread, tasted better than it looked. Adding some cilantro would have made it taste even better. The wait, oh boy, the wait. The wait was not worth it. Not only were we waiting, so many people were waiting far too long for a sandwich. It took nearly 30 minutes and it's not because we ordered a flatbread. The sandwich was good but definitely not worth the wait. This was the worst sandwich that I've ever had. first the Service. the servers making my sandwich did not give me my pickles. I asked for three pickles for three sandwiches and did not get any of them. I asked for a gluten-free wrap. The gluten-free wrap literally fell apart, and I could not use it and ended up putting it on regular (my own) sourdough bread. My wife can't eat cheese so I asked for her sandwich to be without cheese and there was cheese on it horrible experience. I did eat the sandwich, but if I can, I'll leave a picture of this wrap that was unusable. I'm just used to people who care about what the food looks like when they give it to someone and it did not look appetizing. I mean it's not supposed to look exactly like the picture, but it wasn't even close. I also asked for extra meat and if that was extra meat, I would hate to see what just regular meat was. Called twice no answer. Waiting in line without acknowledgment for 10 minutes while they frown and walk back and forth between back room and constantly beeping machine at counter. Stood another 5 minutes with nobody in front of me. Exasperated employee finally takes my order. No customer service mindset at all. Not a happy place to be for customer or employee apparently. Excellent customer service! I got a large Greek salad to do a few months ago and whoever made it really barely put anything in it and it was mostly lettuce. I decided to try again today and told them about this, and gave me the most amazing ginormous Greek salad. Plus a free drink and a free large sandwich! So very nice and kind. And it all was amazing. We had a very tight window between soccer games today (about 90 minutes), so to avoid problems we placed a catering order the day before and were explicitly assured it would be ready at 10:30 AM. We arrived around 10:45, and the order wasn't ready--fine, delays happen. The real issue was what happened next. There were four employees working, yet only one person was assigned to our large order, and unfortunately it was the slowest employee on staff. The other employees continued doing unrelated tasks: one stayed on the register, one worked on other customers' orders, one did prep work. Despite clearly explaining that we had to get an entire youth soccer team back to the field for their next game, no effort was made to reassign help or expedite the order. By the time we spoke up, the order was over 30 minutes late, and instead of understanding or problem-solving, we were met with poor attitudes, as if expecting an on-time, pre-ordered catering order was unreasonable. One employee even seemed irritated that we were complaining, completely missing that if someone had simply helped the sandwich maker, the order would have been finished much faster. Because of how miserable and stressful the experience was, I honestly can't even comment on the quality of the food. When you plan ahead, communicate clearly, and still get treated like the inconvenience, something is very wrong with the service. read more

A solid place for a sandwich. The sandwiches here are pretty solid. Nothing spectacular or earth-shattering .... but solid. I had the chicken salad sandwich which is a more rustic version of a chicken salad, very light on mayo and more cranberry and light overall. The chicken was roasted which was nice and the bread was the highlight of the sandwich. We also had a caprese sandwich and that was pretty good -- nothing special, but a good caprese salad with all the right ingredients. We also had some chili ... which tasted very nice! However, it was awfully greasy/oily. So much so we didn't finish it because if that. Overall, we'd come back if we were ever craving a sandwich and were in the area. Brisket sandwich was very good! (the tasty slaw will prob soak the bread if you wait too long). Mac and cheese not so much - pretty boring and bland. Be prepared to spend at $22 for a 6" sandwich, side of Mac, and fountain drink. That price point makes it a splurge spot for me. I don't normally care so much about this kind of thing but business manger James T and his robotic responses to each and every Yelp review just mentally turned me off of this establishment. This is too corporate for San Elijo. If the business manager is going to cut and paste every single response to a Yelp review then Im out. read more

Food is always delicious here. I've had a few sandwiches and never let down. I recommend a hot sandwich, but just a recommendation. The service is great. Friendly and fast. Inside is calm and easy to talk to someone so if it's too cold or hot outside, inside is always a good option. They have seating inside and out and there is more parking than what it looks like from the road. Horrible experience. This restaurant would rather cater to teeny boppers getting out of school than to regular customers. Tables were all dirty & most taken up with dozens of kids standing around, talking loudly. We couldn't hear each other talking!! Food was mediocre & cost us $35 for 2 sandwiches!! The person who took my order was friendly. 8 customers, 1 to go order, over 20 minutes to get our order of 2 sandwiches. The manager called my name to pick up sandwiches, no eye contact or thank you. Told her a box was in front of the pick up that customers could trip on, she moved it again with no greeting or conversation. She looks like she just got out of bed at 130p. One staff member wore gloves to make a sandwich, then rang up a customer touching the register then back to making a sandwich all with the same gloves. Bread was a bit over done and condiments light. Well, I really had hoped giving this place another chance would be different, but unfortunately nothing has changed since my first review. My kids and I came in and ordered three pretty simple sandwiches, it took 25 minutes to get out take out order, and when we got home, the sandwiches were incorrect. My kids wouldn't even eat the sandwiches and we didn't have time to return to the shop to have them remade. I called to speak with the restaurant in hopes of getting a refund or a credit and was first told that the reason one sandwich didn't have avocado was because they ran out. However, one of the other sandwiches had avocado on it. And nothing was mentioned about them running out and we paid extra for the avo as well. Then I was told we just came at a busy time. There were lots of excuses and I was told they were unable to refund me. Finally the manager (who made the sandwiches himself incorrectly) indicated I could get a free order next time I was in but provided no follow up as to how I could ensure this would happen. I was the one following up with how he can ensure I get the free order next whether or not that happens is up in the air. This place really needs to train employees better. If they are too busy to make 3 sandwiches accurately in less than 25 minutes maybe they need more employees. read more
