The sandwiches MASSIVE! 2 people can split 1 sandwich. No matter which you order, they all taste like the perfect Italian sub--I think even a New Yorker would agree that this sandwich shop is IT! Now while the food was delicious, the ambiance was lacking. While they have very comfy indoor seating and tables, we went midday on a Sunday in between lunch and dinner (I imagine after a lunch rush) which left the tables dirty riddled with crumbs and the dish return bin was stacked. We only saw 2 sandwich artists, yet neither of them greeted us nor were very welcoming--we were the only ones there--it almost seemed like they were annoyed we were there which never feels fun as a customer. Honestly, I probably would have never found this gem on my own. I saw it on the app, checked Yelp to see if it was legit, and wow, am I glad I did. This place makes incredible sandwiches and it's incredibly close to where I live. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I placed my order anyway. The food arrived in under 30 minutes and I was shocked--shocked--by the size, quality, and flavor. The moment I unwrapped the sandwiches, I felt like I had just time-traveled back to one of my all-time favorite sandwich spots in the country, Little Luca's in San Francisco. That's saying a lot. Their Sicilian sandwich is absolute perfection. A brilliant sauce, generous cuts of meat, and the option to add arugula or lettuce. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and downright delectable. Most places serve tiny little subs and call them Italian sandwiches. Not here. Olive Branch is the real deal. And the meatball sandwich? Incredible. Perfectly seasoned meatballs and a rich tomato sauce that wasn't too salty and soaked into the bread just enough to give it this beautiful buttery quality. I also tried their broccoli cheddar soup and was totally surprised. It actually had a homemade taste with generous, tender florets of broccoli. Not that watery stuff you find elsewhere--this was cozy, comforting, and real. The whole vibe of Olive Branch speaks to me. It's homemade. It's delicious. It's my new go-to sandwich shop. I can't wait to try all of their other sandwiches, their Italian wedding soup, and their salad selections too. This is proof that promotions really do work. It's Olive BRANCH, not Olive GARDEN, ok? No all you can eat breadsticks here, as far as I know. The three sandwiches we tried were all made to order and wonderful. We tried the Turkey Club, the Sicilian, and the Capri and they were all excellent. They were perfectly-sized and loaded with fresh, delicious ingredients. The bread was particularly great and super fresh on each sandwich. There are various and interesting imported Italian products for sale inside, including drinks and snacks. There are a number of tables inside so you can either dine in or take out. For sandwiches, this feels like a takeout place. I will say it was very clean inside and the counter gal was very friendly. I realize this is a brand new restaurant and all new restaurants (and other types of businesses) go through growing pains. On Yelp, I try to accentuate the positive, as the old and fantastic Johnny Mercer song goes (look it up). There are some significant issues with this business that must be addressed. I just happened upon this restaurant and I am glad I did. I had the Italian Meatball sandwich. It was packed full of wonderful flavors from both the meatballs and the sauce. Came on a Sunday and we were the second group (2 of us) to arrive. They were already out of ingredients which was concerning. Ordered a sandwich and a salad. The sandwich was generously prepared with meat, cheese, and vegetables. The bread to filling ratio was spot on. As robust as the sandwich was, the salad was sparse. I asked for the bread that was supposed to come with the salad and was told that it was frozen and would take time to be prepared. When a lunch is that expensive, you start expecting excellence... ...We were the only ones there, they asked us several times what we wanted omitted from the sandwiches, and they still made them wrong. We asked for no pepperoncini, and they added extra... ...The prep station area actually didn't look good at all - the olives were congealed ... the salad and basil leaves were discolored ... the veg was browning ... ...There were typos on the online menu that didn't match the menu screens in the store. The menu screens / TVs kept changing to screensavers ... ...The bathroom was clean for the most part, but someone's hairband was on the sink, and the toilet paper roll was just hanging out next to the toilet, no holder. No seat covers either... ...The Italian grocery market items are mostly Cento brand offerings you can find at Vons... ...The crew made comments about the store hours not being correct, so not sure if they are open until 5 or 8, or open on Sundays or not. They use fresh ingredients, they slice the meats after your order and the bread is good, but they are lacking in flavor. The Procuitto and salami's were bland. No way could you compare this to the sandwiches in Florence, Italy. If I'm in the area maybe I'd go again but would not go out of the way to come back. read more

Firstly. The ingredients were super fresh and tasty. I appreciated that. That is 5 stars. My bf LOVED his on works and the kids sandwich was a great size. What lost stars for me was 2 things. I ordered a caprese. Noticed as she cut the sandwich that I never saw her add the mozzarella, when asked she was like oops! And then added it in. It's the main ingredient. I get home to discover that there was not much mozzarella even still. Half the sandwich was without. The parts the had it were good though. Then at check out there was confusion on how to apply my coupon and lots of fumbling, i found my needing to take my calculator out and ensure the price was correct. Then she couldn't get the bag of cheese open and right in front of us used her mouth to open it and then put the cheese right on our sandwich. I will not be returning! The customer service experience was horrible . My husband and I arrived 30 minutes before closing we were soooo hungry after a long day at a makers market. When I walked in the staff was just leaning on the counter and tv's were menu is displayed was off. One of the three staff members did say hello . I already did not want to eat here due to the lack of welcoming environment. We ordered sandwiches were ok the sourdough was turning old . The color on the bread had two tones and textures . Olive Branch has become one of my biggest pregnancy cravings and I'm not even embarrassed about how often I stop in. I always get the Sicilian on their focaccia bread and it is unreal every single time. The bread is soft, fresh, and has so much flavor that it makes the whole sandwich taste like something you'd get at a nice sit-down spot. I usually add one of their pasta sides too and it never misses. Everything tastes super fresh and homemade. The shop is always clean, the service is quick, and the workers are really nice. It's the kind of place where you can walk in, order, and be out with amazing food in just a few minutes. If you're in the area and want a really good sandwich, Olive Branch is a go to. Overall a good sandwich option- however, they kind of butchered our order- i called and did the order on the phone but pretty much none of the specifications actually occurred- mayo still on the sandwich, different bread, no arugula, no pepper relish.... I think the sandwiches would have been better if they had been made correctly- granted i can't speak about the in person experience because we didn't know they were wrong until we got home so at least in person you can make sure they are made accurately. The beef panini sandwich online even says it comes with the pepper stuff but nope didn't get to try that which i was bummed about it because it needed a little something with it just being beef and cheese pretty much. Salad was very small considering the price. I liked the italian sandwich but it wasn't supposed to have mayo- thankfully it's not tons of mayo but i don't prefer mayonnaise. i would give this place another chance but would hands down check to make sure the order was right. I would have ordered on their website but it wasn't working when i tried. Perhaps the door dash option would have been better since we ordered via phone and picked up. Bottom line, don't order over the phone and make sure to check your sandwiches before leaving. The kids enjoyed their grilled cheeses! I did just read on here that this place is new so i always think you should have extra grace on a restaurant in that scenario- More attention to detail needed- I'm all about local and i love little hole in the wall places like this! Focaccia bread, Mortadella, hot capicola and pancetta. Provolone cheese, mixed greens, Italian dressing, tomatoes, cucumber, red onion,peperoncini, red vinegar. Salt and pepper. Gelato for dessert. The ciabatta roll and meatball were 3-4 stars but the sauce was horrible! Rather than a sauce, they used what looks like a tomato paste. It was clumpy like clay and flavorless. I'm extremely disappointed with the sandwich and if they managed to screw up this sandwich, I'd be afraid to try other sandwiches on the menu. It's disappointing that entrepreneurs open up small businesses, but don't really put the effort to serve their customers a product which they would be proud to serve. Two stars for the food. Sandwiches are good. We had the como sandwich which is basically a fancy Italian sandwich. I had it on the honey fig batard bread the first time, this is a sliced bread and the sweet aspect got lost with this sandwich. The second time I tried it on the Italian loaf and this was perfect. We also tried the club works on a ciabatta, which was a little tough for my liking. Husband picked up the sandwiches both times, so I can't comment on atmosphere or service, but overall we're enjoying the new sandwich shop and looking fwd to trying more. read more
