The ambience there is very nice. It's modern, air condition is good decorated like I would expect at a dumpling place. The food is amazing. The dumplings are amazing Service is quick. I really enjoyed the spicy wontons the best not pictured here because I ate them so quickly. The prices and the quality food was excellent. I highly recommend. I would say the service is good but not excellent. They could do a bit better by checking on you to see what else I can get you sodas or additional plates, etc.
My cousin took us here for lunch, and I absolutely love dim sum! I enjoy going with a big group so we can try everything. We ordered a ton of dishes, and everything was absolutely delicious. The only weird thing was that they only had a small dish to eat out of, not actual saucers for dipping, so I wish I could've added some sauce. The vibe was super cute, and the servers were really friendly. Here's what we tried: Crispy Scallion Pancake - light and crispy Spicy Udon with Wonton - chewy, spicy, flavorful Sui Mai - fresh, flavorful, made daily Xaoling Bao - juicy and delish Chicken Dumplings - big portions, interesting flavors Crispy Pork Chop with Fried Rice - hands down my favorite dish here, must get! Ham Sui Gok - super crispy and chewy with a tasty filling
Overall cute shop with plenty of parking. Everything tasted a bit bland/whitewashed. I love the Taiwanese I've had in LA. When getting the cucumber salad- it was an example of how the whole meal would go. It was the most plain cucumber salad I've had. The dumpling and stir fry were all edible but it would not be something I suggest to others. Service was ok.
No longer need to make the drive to La Jolla and valet park for xlbs. One More Bite Dumpling House serves up delicious dumplings without a reservation or need to wait in a long line to be seated. The dining area is clean and comfy. Service is great. My only gripe is that they never answer the phone! If you're craving Chinese Food and find yourself in the San Marcos Area, give this place a try. Thank me later.
After spending our Sunday morning enjoying Discovery Lake and hiking its trails, we decided to have lunch at the nearby Campus Pointe II Plaza. There were many dining options on site, and ultimately we decided on One More Bite after seeing a cook making dumplings behind a glass wall, assuring us they were authentic and the dumplings were not from stores. The restaurant, with its modern Asian décor, was clean and quite spacious, with seating for 70+ guests. The friendly staff guided us to our table and brough water and menu right away. After browsing its extensive menu, we ordered the following dishes: Popcorn Fried Chicken: The chicken pieces were lightly battered, tasty, crispy, and mildly spicy. Pork Xiao Long Bao: This is the quintessential dish of any dumpling house and theirs was spot on. The delicate outer wrap was flawlessly steamed without any tearing, perfectly trapping the juicy broth inside. The filling was well seasoned and with very nice texture. Boiled Shrimp and Pork Dumplings: The outer layers were not soggy or overly boiled, retaining its firm but delicate texture. The filling was savory and a tad sweet. Shrimp and Pork Wonton Soup with Udon: The broth was light but flavorful, with a hint of pleasant white pepper aroma. The thick udon noodles were nicely al dente. The wontons, with savory filling, had slightly thick wraps. Rainbow Vegetable Pan Fried Dumplings: The colorful wraps really accentuated these dumplings. The outer layer had a nice firmness on top and a beautifully crispy bottom. The well minced filling was lightly seasoned and soft. Brown Sugar Rice Cakes: The rice cakes were quickly fried, creating a golden outer layer and pleasantly chewy inside. The drizzled brown sugar provided the sweet kick. Coconut Cream Balls: The fried outer layer was crunchy, and the runny coconut cream inside was not overly sweet. Overall, it was a very enjoyable lunch experience.
Pretty good buns and dumplings, all made from scratch! Prices are reasonable, the food was made quickly, and the servers were very polite. Pork dumplings - of the three items we got, this is the one that I'd get again. Because there was some soup in them, it kind of reminded me a cross between xiao long bao and dumplings. Plump, juicy, tender, and well seasoned Vegetable dumplings - I appreciated that the green color of the wonton wrappers is all natural! Filling was good, but I think we got an outlier batch ... very little filling, so we ended up stuffing more veggies in them after we took a bite. A couple wontons were broken. Vegetable bao - soft and pillowy; the filling reminded me exactly of what I had growing up! Again, just wish there was more filling! All in all, pretty good place if you're looking for buns and dumplings!
Excellent food! Loved the soup dumplings and and steamed shrimp dumplings. The rainbow vegetable dumplings were less flavorful and kind of fell apart. Stir fried udon was great as was the pork cutlet. Easy to order and cute ambience. Boba tea also terrific.
Ordered the pork spicy wontons. Very delicious! It's a bit expensive but overall is pretty good and satisfied my taste bud. Will come back to try out other dishes!
One More Bite Dumpling House is worth the drive to San Marcos. This popular dining destination has a very spacious inside and great for families or groups. The ambiance is nice, it is decorated appropriately with many Asian colors and designs. The customer service is good and attentive, but be mindful of a slight language barrier , so it's good to be patient with translations. I personally like this because this leans to the authenticity of the staff & establishment. Their menu is diverse with a large variety of foods to choose from and options that have varying price ranges. If you want dumplings, salt & pepper chicken, wontons, veggies or noodles, then you'll like the choices. One thing to be said is that when it's peak hours, this place can get super busy and sometimes service can be lacking. Beware of long wait times. But this is the case with most popular dining destinations. One aspect of One More Bite is that the plaza that they are located in has MINIMAL parking options. To make matters worse, there's even difficulty finding street parking outside too. But overall, I like One More Bite Dumpling House and they are worth the trip if in the San Marcos area.
Went here due to the high reviews and didn't feel it was warranted. The dumplings were super good. I got some kind of fruit tea, which was also really good. The chicken and brocolli were okay at best. The chicken tasted a bit chewy tho. The cucumber salad was not what I was used to as it was drenched in soy sauce. It wasn't that good. The place is beautifully decorated in the front but the rest is rather plain. The fountain is a really nice touch. And the man making the dumplings does so in the front. The staff were all really nice and helpful.

It's like Ding Tai Fung with more Dim Sumesque options. Everything was made well but its like basic you shouldn't expect more than what it is. I think from a price perspective it is more expensive than traditional dim sum but it is cheaper than Ding Tai Fung. Overall Thoughts: Best Thing I ate: Ok the Ham Sui Gok (Fried Glutinous Rice Dumplings) had a really good fry that was delicious Crispy outside soft inside with a typical ground pork filling Something to Improve: Nothing really, I think you guys are killing it with the intended purpose of your store and clientele. Keep up the quality!
Had to make a trip out here since we were already in the area, as we usually don't drive this far north unless we're leaving San Diego. I was excited to try One More Bite Dumpling House since it's a newer spot, and it definitely delivered on a few dishes. The biggest surprise of the meal was the fried octopus. I love when restaurants include the octopus legs because they get extra crispy, and this version was excellent. The seasoning had a nice kick without being overly salty, so you could still really taste the octopus itself. We also ordered the seasonal dumpling sampler, which featured different flavors for each dumpling. My favorite was the black truffle--it had a rich flavor without being overpowering. Of course, we had to try the crab xiao long bao as well. The dumplings were medium-sized, and the filling and soup were both flavorful. I'd give them a solid 4/5. Another standout was the fried pork with rice. The portion was huge, with plenty of both meat and rice. Pro tip: order the pork and rice combo instead of the pork by itself because they give you a generous serving of rice. The staff was friendly and efficient, taking the time to explain how the ordering process worked. We also had a mix-up with one of our dishes, and they fixed the issue quickly without any hassle. The restaurant was pretty busy around 5 PM, but service remained fast throughout our visit. It was full of families ranging from teens to grandmas and grandpas. It wasn't too loud and there was plenty of space If it weren't for the drive, this place would definitely make it into our regular dumpling rotation. Whenever we're back in the area, we'd happily stop by again.

Room temperature soup ?!!! Cons: The one item that I ordered, Shrimp & Pork Wonton Soup w/Udon, was served room temperature. Bummed as I could see the guests 2 tables away soup was STEAMING! When I politely mentioned the temperature, the response was, "sorry." Fried Tempura Shrimp were cold and hard. Dumplings were 'gummy'. Pros: Your water glass will never be empty. We are normally generous Tippers. I have no desire to return. Sad, because my boyfriend has been wanting to come to this restaurant again for a long time. Today, I gave in. read more

This place was tucked in the neighborhoods south of the 78 in San marcos and is an addition to the slim selections of dumplings available in north county san diego. The noodles and dumplings were good, they definitely are better than some of the other dumpling offerings. Service was normal, and the chili wontons were sooooo delicious I still think about them to this day. The inside has a lot of seating, it's like decorated on one side of the restaurant and not the other which is interesting lol, but I would come here again if I were craving dumplings in SM. read more

This Chinese restaurant was pretty good/impressive for north San Diego location! The interior is decorated nicely when you walk in. It's cute and modern with nice Asian decor (xiao long bao basket covers and Chinese scripts on the ceilings). Their xiao long bao was delicious with thicker outside skin texture. The cucumber appetizer was interesting (I had never had cucumber salad like this - it wasn't the typical ones you see with the sesame oil/chili/garlic - it was mostly cucumbers drenched in what seemed like sugar and soy sauce). Also got the udon veggies and broccoli with shrimp. The portions are quite large and generous. Sauce/flavor profile for veggie udons and brocolli were quite similar. Would come back here again! We came here for dinner on a Monday evening. The business was steady here. We didn't have to wait to be seated. We ordered the Rainbow Vegetable dumplings, fried udon noodles, pan fried dumplings, and we couldn't forget , the XLB. All the food arrived to the table at a reasonable time. It was all delicious. They also have boba if you need a sweet drink. Parking was plenty. We will definitely return here again. read more
Dumplings are one of my favorite comfort foods to eat, so I'm always on the lookout for a new place to try. I honestly don't get to San Marcos too often, but when I saw the reviews for this place I decided to check it out. I met up with a friend for lunch, holiday weekday. They are in a small Plaza and I didn't have any issues with parking. I went around noon and they were not too busy yet, I was seated right away. The restaurant was very clean and looked newer, they really pretty Fountain built into the wall when you walk in. The service were extremely nice and checked on me often while I waited for my friend to arrive. We trying several different dumplings including the crab and pork soup dumplings, the pork and shrimp dumplings, the beef dumplings, fried rice. Everything was so delicious, and served fresh and warm. The only thing I wish we did different was not order everything at once because the soup dumplings cold down some, which made them harder take out as they were sticking a bit. The broth however was so yummy. I really like the flavor of the rice, it wasn't Bland like some places I have tried. It also wasn't overly busy, just a good solid dish. I also ordered the Thai tea come along which was good, and they were able to make it a little less sweet by adding more of the milk as a requested. I also asked for boba. I also tried these Citrus tea with fruit in it, which was very good and I would recommend it. I would definitely add this on my list to go back. I feel like the prices were reasonable, for the amount of food that you get, and the quality was good. We ordered so much food, but it was so good we ate quite a bit of it, and took the rest home. We got here right before dinner rush! We're seated right away. For drinks we ordered the Thai tea, brown sugar milk tea and hot tea. The teas are premade in pitchers. The hot tea was a tea packet. I probably won't order the hot tea again. They didn't have any ceramic mugs which was kind of a bummer. For food we ordered the following: XLB soup dumplings 8/10! Nice flavor Crispy potstickers 10/10! This was my fave and MUST order. I loved the flavor of the filling, the crispy bottom and the dipping sauce. Spicy shrimp and pork wontons 8/10! Perfect spiciness for me. Beef udon noodles good but not something I'd care to order again. Would rather try a dim sum or order another type of dumpling. Flavor was good and nice to order if you're looking for a beef or noodle dish. Ambiance is nice! We were seated in a booth which was very comfy. Nice and airy interior with high ceiling, casual decor with a few booth seating. Friendly and attentive service. Welcoming atmosphere for solo customers as well. Two of us ordered and shared pork soup dumplings (8 per order), which were delicious with fresh cut ginger garnish. We also had shrimp dumplings and sticky rice with chicken wrapped in a leaf. Everything was delicious! Beyond expectations! The black vinegar, soy sauce and hot chili oil were on the table. I liked black vinegar especially that added more flavor to the food. The dumplings and the sticky rice were filling, and for $25 per person including everything, we were full. Good deal. The only thing is that the parking is very limited in the small mall. If you are lucky, you may be able to find a spot, if not, you can try your luck on the street right in front. If you can find any parking, this is a great place. read more
I tried this place for dinner & it was really good! We ordered the scallion pancake, beef udon noodles, pork fried rice, spicy wontons & fried chicken wings. The scallion pancake was yummy as well as the fried rice very simple and delicious! Delicious handmade dumplings made in site. Nice thin delicate Xiao long bao wrappers stuffed with well seasoned meat. The Shrimp Shu Mai packed with plump sweet shrimp topped with roe. Having been a fan of their Wildomar location, I'm excited to have this new spot closer to home. The interior is fresh, new, and has a lovely calming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly welcoming from the moment we walked in. Breakdown of our order: Beef Fried Rice: I appreciated that this arrived first, though the flavor itself wasn't particularly memorable. Crab & Pork XLB: Delicious, but definitely eat these while they're hot! Once they cooled down, the wrappers became a bit dry and chewy. Pork Shu Mai: Larger than your typical dim sum portions. They were very meaty, and the crunchy roe on top added a great texture. Pork & Shrimp Spicy Wontons: A highlight! The chili sauce is excellent, and the bok choy garnish is a nice touch. Steamed Pork Ribs: A solid classic, though I did notice ours lacked the chili peppers shown in the menu photo. House Special Fried Chicken Wings: These have a fantastic Taiwanese popcorn chicken flavor profile but in wing form. My only critique for the franchise is the lack of standalone vegetable dishes like garlic green beans that you find at similar spots. Overall, it's a great place to fix a dumpling craving. I'm actually willing to drive all the way up to San Marcos for their limited dim sum menu. It's priced well and most importantly delicious! I wish they offer to serve free tea to make the meal more enjoyable. Tea prices in San Diego has been crazy for $3-6 a cup! Service is pretty good, responsive and clean out empty dim sum basket pretty quick. Please expand your dim sum menu!! read more
Truly the closest to a din tai fung dupe. The inside is super cute, nice decor. The staff is kind and service was quick. We got the 3 piece veggie spring rolls and those hot, crunchy and flavorful when paired with the dipping sauce. The udon beef noodles were really good too. Solid pepper flavor and the noodles were bouncy and perfect. Both dumplings and wontons were good. Skin is not as thin as DTF but the flavors were practically the same. The best part is everything came out HOT and fresh. Also it was half the price of DTF. Im very impressed with this place. 100% recommend this if youre in the area. read more

I give One More Bite Dumpling House a four stars on Yelp! The several items I tried are good. I felt the Steamed BBQ Pork Buns dough was pretty close to the taste and texture of the original. Beef and Broccoli were just too sweet and the beef was rubbery. Spare Ribs were delicious. Xia long bao was good. The Spicy Shrimp and Pork Wontons were good but I wish they had egg noodles with their soup wontons. Udon is good but for $16.99. Prices are steep but a few dollars cheaper than other restaurants. My only down side is most of the items are cooked ob the sweeter side as Shanghainese food is sweeter than Cantonese style. Service was very nice and ambiance is clean. Parking is minimal and you may need to park on the street and walk in. read more
This is for a 3.6 rating. The restaurant has a nice ambiance. There's a pretty water art display right as you enter on the left followed by three Chinese ladies making dumplings thru a glass. Most of the tables were taken and we were seated right away. First thing you notice on the menu is dim sum of 3 pcs like the shrimp and pork shumai for $7.50. We ordered the pork xiao long bao, shrimp and pork wonton soup, and shrimp fried udon with black pepper sauce. The shrimp and pork wonton soup came with 6 wontons and were pretty basic. The shrimp fried udon was tasty but udon noodles are not traditionally part of Chinese cuisine. Last but not least, pork xiao long bao had a good amount of soup but the filling was rolled into a ball so it was a bit weird hitting into it. Also, the bao dough was too thick same like the wontons. This dumpling joint is located in Campus Pointe II, near the CSU San Marcos campus. Just look for the "DUMPLING" sign instead of its full name. My first impression of the place is above average. It is beautifully decorated with an open kitchen, and great service. We arrived before the dinner rush so we had the option to pick a table or booth. Many people came in after us so it was pretty full when we were done. Alas its food was just average to my taste. I wondered whether this is the best option in San Marcos. The wanton udon soup was very plain. Skin of XLB was rather thick, and the stuffing wasn't juicy either. I might come back but it wouldn't be my first choice. read more

Already familiar with the Murrieta location, this is the newly opened, smaller San Marcos branch. Food is great (same as Murrieta), good options for vegans/vegetarians, shareable portions. Service is spectacular, sat down with waters already on the table, food came out quickly. Downsides (which do not reduce the rating, just be aware): parking is insanely tight, the shopping center is overburdened with restaurants. Expect to park on the street and walk down. Place was slammed on a Friday night, but there is a digital check in that texts you when your table is ready, for two people at 6 pm it was about a 15-20 min wait. Table turnover is fast. Definitely pretty packed with tables, so watch your elbows. read more
This is like a dupe for Din Tai Fung and for not even a fraction of the price! I went here with 4 friends and we ordered so much food. Our stomachs were definitely bigger than our eyes but I'm so glad because we got to try so much and even had leftovers! Once we got the bill, we were all shocked because it was less than $100! We all had to double check that we were charged for everything but yep! We were. Super delicious and super affordable?! I can't wait to come back here! The onion pancake, spicy chicken wonton, and udon noodles were some of the best! But honestly everything was a hit! read more
Din Tai Fung dupe!! Every variation of dumpling was sooo juicy and actually had a lot of filling, I just wish the dumpling wrapper was a bit thinner. The tofu came out hot and crispy, same with the calamari. The shiu mai are huge with tons of masago!!! The crust on the egg tarts were perfect, and they weren't too sweet. Servers were quick and attentive, even offering to help us box up our leftovers. Love the decorations they have throughout the restaurant! read more

I really enjoyed the food here. We tried a wide range of options. We had the Jasmine Lemon Bomb Tea (fabulous, the use real lemons and very refreshing), Roe Mushroom Shrimp and Pork Shumai (my favorite! Very dense and filling and the seasoning is on point. 3 pieces was perfect to share), Sticky Rice Chicken in Lotus Leaf (good but not my favorite because I'm more of a fried rice lover, but this would be the perfect dish if you're hungover and looking for something soothing and comforting; reminded me of a fresh bowl of chicken and rice soup without the soup if that makes sense), Crab and Pork Xiao Long Bao (AMAZING. Nothing to say besides you should always order this dish), Seaweed Salad (love seaweed salad always, this one was great), House Special Fried Chicken Wings (PHENOMENAL. SO good we got an order to go; the batter they use makes the chicken a different type of crispy than others), and Brown Sugar Rice Cake (if you like mochi, you'll enjoy this but it does not look like the menu photo). TL:DR this place is decent because it's in San Marcos. And also they talk crap in front of customers. New restaurant in the plaza close to campus. Everything is new so it's very clean, and they got pretty cool decor. I saw this place highly recommended on a reel for vest dumplings in San Diego and I honestly should have known better. This place is decent if you're in San Marcos and want to stay in San Marcos. I was that clown that drove up from SD proper just to try this place. The major flaw I found which is consistent across all their dumplings is that the meat filling is too dense. It's like eating a ikea meatball no matter what different meat filling you chose. Like if I threw a normal XLB filling against a wall it would make a splat and drip down to the wall. If I threw their dumpling filling against the wall it would bounce back in my face. Their XLB skins are also the chewy type so whether you like it will depend on your preference. Pork XLB: 3/5 Crab XLB: 3/5 Spicy wonton: 4/5 (sauce is good) Pan fried chicken and corn dumpling: 3/5 I also overheard who I think is the manager (older lanky guy of the wait staff) say to one of the waitress in Chinese "你们美国人脑子都这么x的吗...." Which roughly translates to are you Americans brains all that dumb/slow. I wasn't sure if he was referring to her or the doordash order they were having a meltdown with on the phone. Either way inappropriate thing to say around customers in any language. Especially since it's a Chinese restaurant where many can understand Chinese..... and maybe some are AMERICAN Chinese who can understand. That kind of ruined the mood for me, didn't enjoy how he treated the younger wait staff either. read more
