Whatever this dish was it was yummy!

Just came after getting pedicures across the street at Aria- so it was about 5:30 pm- server was not as friendly and my friend was a bit put off- but the food was delicious and we enjoyed our dinner - we stayed but before closing we're basically rushed out of the restaurant- as she wanted to close - early which was weird

I got the pork and chive dumplings, which are always good. I tried the chicken and corn dumplings which were ok. It was ground chicken with corn kernels. I think it would have been better if the corn was more ground up and there were more spices or something added. The cucumber salad was very very tasty. The beef with brocolli was also ok. I found the beef to be rather fatty tho. Definitely think the chicken is better here. The service is good and they were super nice and let us be there late.

Service is great here they are always very attentive and nice, the food is flavorful I had the wontons with chili oil they are really good and the green scallion pancake is one of the best appetizers to get it's similar to a quesadilla haha but their own version, the food always come out fresh & steaming hot and very fast paced which is great when your starving! This place is really good can't wait to come back

My husband and I were in the shopping center and we decided to try a new restaurant (new years resolution) we ordered a few things thinking we wouldn't be full with one plate. Boy were we wrong ... the waiter was super amazing welcomed us, served us the food and when we saw the portion it was more than what we expected. The food was prepared to order so the flavor was amazing.

I am updating and downgrading my review after today's experience (I also noticed I overrated my firsts experience there, it should have been 3 stars since my spicy dumplings were overly salted). I was craving Xiao Long Bao and decided to go to Joyee for a very late lunch. How disappointing... The XLB skin was extremely thick, cracked open on the top (see my photo here: https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/joyees-dumpling-house-vista?start=480&select=1jurpathdFtbweTYK4lJsA ). They looked industrial made and frozen XLB. The "soup" in the dumpling was not tasty and almost not present. Very bland, perfectly shaped ball of meat, definitely machine made. How and what were those couple of pieces of thick pink salty ginger? MEH. I would give them 0 stars. Cucumber salad, again, you can't go wrong (I'd add sesame oil in them though). That was most likely my last time at Joyee.

This place was pretty good. It's been in my collection for some time. Finally getting to try it was nice. I haven't had dumplings in a long time. My friend Alex enjoyed it as well. The pork soup wonton was a big portion for $12.99. A good size portion for the price. You can share it a few times and can be good for 2-3 people. The scallion pancakes were so delicious and crunchy! The soup dumplings had so much flavor. They do take a bit of time to make. The chicken and corn were yummy as well. The service is efficient. They had a cute mascot statue outside. It was nice, clean, organized inside. I would definitely come back.

Dumplings and more... We opted for salted chicken wings, Szechuan eggplant, shrimp dumplings, long xiao bao, beef chow mien were ordered during this visit. Everyone was satisfied with the variety of food. The place is located in a strip mall and there was plenty of parking. It's a good location and it was easy to get to We will be back to try the other offerings.

I love that Vista has a dumpling spot on University! After work, I was hungry for a snack and looking for a place to grab some food to go when Joyee caught my eye. I ordered their black sesame bun, and it definitely hit the spot. The staff here were prompt and friendly, and I found the restaurant to be cute. I'd definitely come back to dine in and try more items from their menu. I also appreciated how convenient the parking was since it's located in a plaza across from Target and other big-name stores like Old Navy, Ross, and Trader Joe's.

Im always so impressed when I come here, especially having high expectations as a chinese woman but I love eating here! The quality is high and very tasty. Everything is made pretty authentically and has the right amount of flavor.

Food here is decent, although everything falls just a little short on flavor. We got the 牛肉炒面, 四季豆,小笼包,and popcorn chicken. Everything comes out in decent portion sizes, and waitstaff is friendly. For being called a dumpling house, they have a handful of other non-dumpling dish options. I appreciated that as they were taking away our plates and clearing our table, they assured us that there was no rush

I made the mistake of giving this place another chance. I thought maybe they would give better service. However, when we walked in at 7:40 PM, when the sign on the door says they close at 8:15 PM. The lady just looked at us and said "we're closed".. We will not be coming back here ever again.

    Only 4 dumplings left!

Green Beans and Beef, Snow Pea Leaves, Chicken Fried Rice, and Pork Dumplings, that was dinner tonight. I have been here several times and what I really love is the Green Beans and Beef, just the right amount of sauce and garlic, and piping hot, I love this dish.

I always preferred this spot for soup dumplings. And that's what we had today. Both my husband and I each ordered the Xiao Long Bao (8pc) along with a side of Bok Choy with Garlic. Gotta get in our greens! (I really wanted the Spinach with garlic but was told they sold out yesterday.) Everything was delicious. We even ordered one more Xiao Long Bao! What I really liked about the dumplings was that the exterior did not break when grabbed with chopsticks. Pliable. Soup stayed in the dumpling until I pierced it. (At Joyee, many times dumplings stick to the paper and rips. Soup spills out. The dough can be a little chewy.) We also had tea with our meal. My husband with the Taro Milk Tea with Boba and me with the Tropica Fruit Tea. My tea was quite refreshing. I forget everything that's in it but there's jasmine tea with a mix of fruit tea, a mint leaf, and pieces of fruit - strawberry, blueberry, pineapple. My husband enjoyed his drink too. Boba was nice and chewy. Dumplings were being made as we were leaving. Who doesn't love freshly made dumplings?! Almost forgot to mention that the service was great. The employee was very friendly and helpful. Stop by and support this small business!

If you are in a rush or not social, no worries, she makes food homemade AND fast for you and won't bother you. No worries. If you are social, say hello, she will become a beloved neighbor and you will feel welcomed and cared for. The food is top notch! Quality. She will let you know if it's freshness and is very transparent. One time she ran out of fresh corn and let me know before I ordered. And offered me other ideas. I'm completely fine with frozen corn, I like corn with my crab boil, but how nice and honest of her to tell me! It was all so delicious and my daughter gets the potstickers and they are pan fried, such a perfect crunch to them! And beef chow mein. My daughter and I share it and still have leftovers. Sesame balls are my favorite and makes them perfectly. She has plenty of drink choices too. Go now and enjoy. Except Mondays. She deep cleans the entire restaurant. She needs a rest day and deserves it. I hope she gets one.

The usual places that we'd get our new year Chinese dinners from all had shut down their businesses. We called this business and the guy graciously took our to-go order. But first we had to keep calling like their voicemail said to do. We got two soups the wonton and the egg/flour one. One thing we noticed on their menu is they lack the description of what meat they use in the wonton soup. Assuming it was pork we ordered it anyway. I'd personally prefer it to be veggies or chicken inside. Or to have an option. Though I absolutely love the broth it comes with! The egg drop was great for me too as it had just the right amount of flavoring. I really do enjoy a good orange chicken (rice is at an additional cost when ordering it) so we put in an order for their orange peel chicken. The pieces came small and a little bit too done. I attribute this to it being a busier night than perhaps their usual and maybe because it was only a couple to a few people working. So I'd be willing to try it again. When ordering we specified please no sesame seeds. He assured us that this dish doesn't have it. You see we're beginning to see and experience sesame seed trending on so many dishes elsewhere else even when it's not advertised. So I'm very happy it's automatically not on theirs. You can see in my picture the size of the chicken I got. I had it in a small Japanese soup/salad bowl for reference. I'd order from them again and perhaps dine in their nice & casual establishment for a different experience. Happy 2026!

Unfortunately, our old go to spot a block from us had closed down but in its place... was now Golden Dragon. We didn't even realize it wasnt the same Chinese restaurant, but when finding out, decided to give them a try! I ordered for pickup around 5:00pm on Door Dash. They had pictures showing for many items, but I noticed that many pictures were incorrectly linked to different dishes. This seems like an error on Door Dash's part, and we decided to stick to our first picks. I got the hot and sour soup for him, and ordered the following for the group: -sesame balls -spicy beef -Orange chicken -house fried rice I purposely sheduled the order to be picked up at 5:45pm since we needed to stop somewhere along the way, but saw they had started making it immediately. This was a little concerning because I knew our food would be sitting there a little too long before picking up. We ended up having to rush, and arrived at the restaurant at 5:30pm. This was the first time since the restaurant changed ownership that we have entered. Aside from it being very empty, it felt empty as well. Very wide open area with a lot of void space. I didnt see any decor and they definitely didnt have the walk up food ordering option like the previous place did. It looks like they only take orders now rather than that Panda Express style feel. When entering I noticed one person sitting on a chair on their phone. He quickly got up and I let him know I was picking up for 'Katrina', he grabbed the bag that had been sitting on the table in front of him and handed it to me. We said thank you and left. We got home rather quickly and started opening all the containers. Right off the bat I noticed the fried rice was extremely dark in color. This may be normal, and it didnt taste bad but I have never seen fried rice that dark brown before. The orange chicken had a good sauce taste, but since it had been sitting in the container for some time, it was extremely soggy. The spicy beef is something I woukd never order again. It in no way was spicy, and just tasted like white pepper with beef. There was a specific taste and smell to it, and I couldnt put my finger on what it was from. All I know is it wasnt a fan favorite of ours. The hot and sour soup was not like the previous location's, and we were so sad about it. It was good though, and was similar to other Chinese restaurant recipes. Each entree comes with a small container of white steamed rice, and that was cooked well. We were excited to finish off with a sesame ball, but they were also mushy, and I could barely taste the red bean paste inside. I dont want to rule this spot out as a "no-go", and im thinking maybe variables were just off paired with trying something for the first time. Im willing to give this spot a try one more time and maybe order directly from them in person so I know I can grab the bag as soon as its done.
