    70. Mixed Vegetables with Chicken and wanton Wonton Soup
    Tyler T.

Really amazing hole in the wall Chinese restaurant! Food comes out fast and piping hot! The woman who owns it runs the register and takes great pride in her food. This is a one of a kind dining experience where the attention to detail really shines. If you are adventurous, ask to try her home made pickled vegetables on the side. The chose the right name, because everything truly is A-One!!

You wouldn't know from the exterior, but this place offers great food, lunch specials are awesome. Service is great. I love coming to this place.

If you are looking for fresh, authentic Chinese food, here's the place! This is our third visit and we have had incredible food and service during our visits. The restaurant/dining area is relatively small, but you are able to dine in. They do a lot of take out here. All of the food is made fresh to order and full of flavor. The portions are generous. The proteins are often plated with steamed broccoli, which is a nice addition wth the white/steamed rice. There's always leftovers which is a plus. Also, the containers are durable and microwaveable, convenient to enjoy the leftovers at work/home. The cream cheese wontons and pot stickers are great to add to any order. We really enjoy the orange chicken and orange beef. The Mongolian beef is also a favorite. We order string beans and vegetables with our orders. The venegatbles balance the proteins. Another favorite item, the sesame balls, a must! They are perfect as a palate cleanser/dessert. The restaurant is family owned and the recipes are their own. There are plenty of dishes/choices on the menu; both traditional and non-traditional.

    Orange Tofu ($11.95)

Great prices for great food that is cooked to order. Can't ask for more from a quick and easy Chinese food place. Several vegetarian options. The service was very fast and friendly. The indoor seating is meant for quickly eating and leaving and this feels like mostly a takeout place, but I appreciated the option to eat there if you're starving and want food now, haha. We ordered: - Orange Tofu ($11.95) - Vegetable Fried Rice ($8.95) - Szechwan String Bean ($11.95) I'd highly recommend the Orange Tofu--a great vegetarian option and the orange sauce was really nice. The tofu was nice and crispy, which I really appreciate. I was also able to customize the spice level of the orange sauce to a 2 or 3 (mild) out of 10, which was perfect for me--just enough to give some flavor, but not too spicy for me to handle. The Szechwan String Beans were great. A good amount of garlic. Perhaps a bit oily, but still very good. The Vegetable Fried Rice was unremarkable flavor wise, but a solid staple. The veggies, particularly the broccoli, tasted nice and fresh and crisp and good quality.

Great food and a great portions. Amazing flavor food. Highly recommend.

Located in a stripmall, it's a small place but the Food is made to order and only took them 5 minutes to bring it to me at one of there handful of tables. The food was very hot and actually had to wait for it to cool down a bit which was nice. The fried rice was very fresh and orange chicken was white meat and large juicy pieces with lots of flavor. It also came with an eggroll that was pretty good too. Overall. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone wanting good quality Chinese food

This place is really a gem. Found this place going to get cookies a couple stores down. We decided to eat there. We got Chow mein mixed meat, orange beef, chicken wings (s&p) and fried rice with chicken, beef and shrimp. Ordering was fast and quick. Down fall was that they can't give you water cups...you had to buy their water bottles. Not much going in the ambiance but there are some cool wall decorations. Maybe music would be nice. Did hear the sound of DoorDash orders coming through, so that's good. Customers were coming in to order and you can tell they are regulars. Wish I could be but we live a little too far to be coming here all the time. Anyways...did was delicious! There seriously nothing to complain about. Well except for the wings...it didn't have the flavor of salt n pepper wings I am used to from the South Bay or Mira Mesa area. But my husband and my daughter both liked it but of course said nothing compared to what we get elsewhere. So we won't be getting that next time. Which is fine because there's a whole lot of other choices for us to still try. It was interesting to see seafood boil options. Not really a place I would be ordering that. We usually get that at a solely "seafood boil" restaurant. Not a whole lot of seating if you are dining in but eating cooked right off the wok made the food that much more amazing!

    Singapore Mi Fun

Singaporean noodles -- spice level was mild and super spicy! So be aware if you order mild. 14.95 for the meal through delivery wasn't bad but they forgot to include the utensils and napkins (I was staying in a hotel studying for an interview and didn't want to leave for anything as it was a very late delivery) Overall the portion was alottt and the protein to noodle ratio was great

Sweet & Sour Chicken - Very we'll fried, tasted clean and fresh..
    Caleb T.

I have a weird thing about certain cuisines containing ingredients that have a crunch to them. While I love the flavor of raw onions on my hamburger and hotdogs, I can't stand them on a pizza. I enjoy the crunch of green and red bell peppers in a sausage sandwich, but when they're in a panang curry, I tend to push them aside for mushrooms and chicken. So, when I go to a Chinese restaurant, I tend to stick to the Hot Burned Porks, the Plum Tree Beefs, or (at the very least) something where the onions and peppers are cooked down to being caramelized. So, when I ordered the Peking Beef off the menu here at A-One Wok, I was a bit trepidatious when my dish arrived with a full onion, nice and crunchy, mixed into the sauce. And yet, it was so good, I couldn't help but eat everything served to me. Wonderful flavors, the meat nice and tender, the vegetables were perfect and delicious. And it wasn't just the beef I enjoyed. The Sweet and Sour Chicken was perfectly fried, clean and light without having that taste of everything else that had been fried before it. The Broccoli Chicken was a great addition to our table and something you don't see on too many Chinese menus. The Orange Chicken, while too spicy for my son and daughter, was still well fried and coated with a great sauce. And the Egg Rolls, while not the best I've had, were still pretty good. There are a ton of restaurants out there where you can grab some good and cheap Fried Rice or Black Pepper Chicken. Here at A-One Wok, it may be a few bucks more, but you can taste the difference in freshness as they whip up your order right after you pay. I can't say it's worth the drive to come out as far as it is in Vista from where I live, but if I'm in the area with some time to spare, the food and service are definitely worth a try.

Started eating before taking the yelp pic. Orange chicken combo and coconut shrimp.
    Kareen-Grace T.

Pleasantly surprised by the flavors and quality of food at this restaurant. The coconut shrimp was my favorite dish of the 3 dishes we ordered. Shrimps were a good size and the coconut flavor was just right. The other two dishes were beef chow mein and orange chicken lunch combo with a spring roll. The noodles in the chow mein were cooked well and had a nice chew. Next time I'll just order it without any meat. The beef was OK, just better without. The orange flavor in the chicken was perfect. The citrus zest came through well. It was real and refreshing. Broccoli in both dishes didn't hurt. I like that they added the vegetable.

Ordered the Small Boston White Clam Chowder ($6.99), 3 Piece Fish & Chips with fries ($21.99), and the Sea Bass Plate ($25.99) which came with two sides - opted for Spanish rice and black beans. The clam chowder was just okay and nothing particularly special. The sea bass with garlic butter was a little bland and definitely needed some hot sauce or tartar sauce for extra flavor. The Spanish rice also tasted like it had been sitting out for a while and was a little dry. I did appreciate that the black beans came topped with some cheese and were served in a little tostada bowl - a nice touch. The fish and chips were hands down the best thing we ordered. The fish had a super crispy batter and the fries were crispy as well. Definitely the standout of the meal.
