Crab Pub is one of my absolute favorites! I always order the Combo #2 with a side of rice, and it's consistently delicious. My go-to sauce is Pub Style Medium it has the perfect balance of flavor and spice without being overly hot. I usually get the sauce on the side because sometimes it has chunks of garlic, which isn't my favorite, but the flavor is so good that it's still my top choice every time. The oysters were amazing! My mom loves oysters, and they did not disappoint fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth ordering. We also tried the gumbo, and it was incredible rich, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the seafood. The fried shrimp was a little overcooked, and the oil tasted slightly old, but it was still good and definitely not enough to take away from the overall experience. The portions are generous, the seafood is always satisfying, and the quality keeps me coming back. It's become one of my favorite spots whenever I'm craving seafood, and I highly recommend giving it a try! read more

Came in craving some seafood boil. The place is massive and the staff was very attentive and warm. For the starters we had cat fish fry which was awesome and very well done. Moist and cooked to perfection. Wings were next and was tiny and overcooked, not their best moment. We lastly had the seafood boil combo with all 3 flavors . It was ok nothing spectacular but I was disappointed in the snow crab legs . It was not very fresh as the meat was not easy to pull off the shell which is always a tell tale sign. Revisited Crab Pub and it still delivers. We got the Cajun edamame and I highly recommend dipping it in your seafood boil sauce it's game changer. Service was fast, and the servers were great and very accommodating. This location is definitely getting more traffic, but the quality hasn't changed at all. They also had the place decorated with Christmas decorations, which was a nice touch. The combos are always a great bang for your buck. Snow crab legs were amazing, and the shrimp were juicy, flavorful, and not dry at all. Definitely a solid spot to keep coming back to. read more

We have driven by this place countless times and tonight we decided to try it. We were seated right away. When I say there's plenty of seating I'm not kidding they could easily accommodate 150 people. I loved the decorations sharks, boats, very nautical. I've never been served food from a plastic bag. That was odd but the taste was incredible. I had the 1/2 pound of shrimp and rice. Hubs had the pasta. Service was fast and they were really nice. We arrived Monday June 1 to celebrate my son's birthday. I had called earlier to check about buying a desert or bringing a cake. The person who answered the phone was so kind and helpful. She advised they give a complimentary slice of their cheesecake for the birthday celebrant but didn't sell whole cakes. She informed me about the 85 Degree bakery and Stater Brothers next door. They will gladly store the cake. The menu was a little difficult to understand but once our waiter , sorry I forgot his name explained the combos vs AlaCarte and how much would feed a party of 5 We explained one person ate like a bird 2 of us were starving and 2 were medium hungry. He asked us what we wanted in terms of seafood. We all wanted crab one person didn't want shrimp etc etc. he advised us to start with 3 (bags) boil combos all with crab ,comboed with other seafood to make it a variation. Plus add an extra portion of crab. Well it was perfect. We did 3 different spice variations and shared The table is lined with plastic. A roll of paper towels. Plus the tools. Cracker and extractor. And gloves. Omg we had a blast eating the delicious food. Everything was fresh and just scrumptious. We had one bag with the garlic and old bay. Mild (I love heat but read mild had a kick. ). Which is did but was overall a mild kick. I was slurping the juice out of the clam shells it was so gosh darn good. Our waiter and the rest of the staff checked on us. Refilled our tea and water. We made a pretty good mess of things. Best part is we didn't have to clean up. Our waiter was so thoughtful, when it was time to have cake and open presents he invited us to use a clean table. He brought us plates and forks for the cake too. The restaurant space is kinda different. You walk into the restaurant and you're in a pretty large foyer You move through it to a gigantic dinning area with dozens of tables and booths. It has a huge high ceiling and appears more like a banquet size area. There were several other diners but because of the size of the restaurant it didn't feel crowded. We were trying to figure out what the space was used prior to Crab Pub. It has an Asian twist decor (marble deco columns) but decorated with fishing type props and decorations. It looks like service stations encircled the outer edge of the restaurant. Thinking it was a buffet place in the past. We loved the playlist music Thinking it was club like 80's 'maybe 70's original hits. Thankfully , No piped in cover instrumentals. So it was extra fun to get down and dirty eating and listening to great music. Bathrooms were clean All n all it was reasonably priced (we did Snow Crab as opposed to the King Crab that was pricier ). Recommend for families , and friend groups. Unsure if first date would be good as you have to get into the boil bag and it'll get messy. I hope to come back soon to try more combo seafood and different spice offerings read more

Crab Pub, I've been here a few times and usually order the crawfish and shrimp. The restaurant is very spacious, making it a great spot for families and groups of friends. The food is okay overall, but the seasoning can be inconsistent. Sometimes it tastes just right, but other times it can be a bit bland or slightly salty. That said, the shrimp and crawfish are fresh. We used to go down to the Harbor to Joes Crab Shack until we discovered Crab Pub. This place is off of Mission in the Stater Bros parking lot. The location is large, clean and surprisingly not busy (yet). We've gone several times now and have tried the King Crab, Snow crab, shrimp, garlic bread and appetizer fries and everything has been delicious. The portions are big enough for two. Their garlic butter Old Bay seasoning is bomb. They have a lot of taps with rotating options. The servers are attentive and friendly. I'm so happy that a place like this has made its way into Oceanside. Located in a busy shopping center with plenty of parking. No reservations needed and our party of 4 was seated immediately. Large menu with plenty of options to choose from. You pick your items to be steamed up in the bag, seasoning, sides and wait for it to be brought out. The tables have paper placed over them so you can easily discard what you've eaten into a pile. Everything came out hot and seasoned to perfection. Decent size shrimp, along with the added sides. Everything was portioned well. Very chill place, clean. Lots of room to host large and small groups. Service was a tad slow, and that is my only issue. Our waiter didn't come around to ask for refills of drinks (everytime I tried to flag someone down, they were too busy talking amongst themselves) or if we needed anything else until it was time to drop off the bill. Had to go back again for a solo trip, I'm starting to like these a lot more than I could have ever imagined bc I didn't have to share this time, stay as long as I want, eat the spice level I want lol and just enjoyed the quiet vibes. I do wish their seating had some cushion lol. Love their crab pub seasoning, it's the go to for me and I should have gotten 1/2 and 1/2 instead of medium level spice! I will be back and there was a co worker that was a little space invading and hitting on customers shouldn't be something you're thinking about while at work. He literally ran up to the door to say bye and I just looked at him, then he said, you're not gonna say bye? I said no lol. Sorry everyone that this 5 star review has been in my drafts for a while. Not kidding when I say this is the best seafood boil place in SD. My go to sauce is the pub special, hot. They DO NOT play with their spice, people. I have a high tolerance and the XX spicy almost took me out. Shrimp and crab is fantastic, so are their breaded fish and shrimp. Draft beers are always cold and compliment the cuisine so much. If you're sharing (or not) the appetizer platter is humongous! Comes with a medley of the apps to try on a bed of fries, sweet potato and regular. The chowder is also great choice to prime the stomach for some spicy seafood. The Oceanside one is so underutilized! I feel like it never has the crown it deserves! I've been to the one at Blaza Bonita and that one also smacked. Service staff is always friendly and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised by the Crab Pub. We met a friend for an early dinner tonight. None of us had been here before, so we went in blind. We started with the Cajun edamame and it was very tasty. The edamame was nicely cooked, and the seasoning was on point. We had one of the boils with shrimp, mussels, clams, sausage, potato, and corn on the cob. None of us are crazy about crawfish so we skipped that part and had more shrimp. The shrimp were especially excellent. . We ordered the Cajun garlic butter, and it was so good. The boil came in a plastic bag which was unexpected. Our waiter, Leo said we could either eat directly out of the bag or spill it onto the table. We decided to keep it in the bag, which was good because the bag kept the food warm and you got a nice taste of the garlic butter in every bite. They have beer and wine, although there seems to be a much more plentiful beer selection than wine. The only criticism I have with the boil is I felt like there could've been another portion of corn on the cob and potato. However, the seafood was abundant. Our waiter Leo was very attentive. The restaurant itself is not fancy, but it is clean and well kept. I thought the prices were reasonable and I feel like we got good value. Overall, I highly recommend the Crab Pub. read more

The quality is decreasing... Been here three times since the last review (two dine in and one togo) and the quality has slowly decreased. The crab has become rubbery and not as crisp as it used to be, and sometimes comes out with black ends, along with the lemons being slimy. It is a lot harder to open because the shell doesn't crack like it should. The togo order came with the table covers, but no gloves, no bibs, no butter, no salt and pepper, and slimy lemons. The service still isn't the greatest but the dark haired gentleman (the manager I believe) usually does a good job of making sure people are taken care of. But the rest of the servers are either eating or chatting as usual. Unfortunately might have to start going to San Marcos or San Diego to get crab, but this place used to be so good! read more

The fried oyster basket was my favorite. A bit stingy on the oysters. It was more like a basket of fries with a sprinkle of oysters. Same with the calamari. We were allowed to substitute extra shrimp in place of the crawfish. This was a perfect order for two people. We probably could have fed 3. The combo includes two pieces of corn. I did not like that the corn pieces were so small. It says on the menu all combos include corn (2), potatoes (2) and pork sausage (4). What this really means is one corn cut in half, two small potatoes and four thin slices of sausage. So that is why I am scoring this a 3. The seafood tasted very good. It's fun to be messy at dinner. I like that they gave us bibs and gloves. My daughter wants me to include that they need longer straws to fit the cups provided. read more

My fam and I primped our nails down the sidewalk. After watching their TVs show yummy seeming crab this and crab that, we tried Crab Hub. The place is big with a full bar; felt empty at 1pm for lunch. Music kinda loud and very specific genre. Staff was genuinely kind and even exchanged the small blue crab for King legs after my mom (a crab queen!) said the blue just wasn't good. Sis and I had a small bowl of N.E. Clam Chowda' which equaled any brand can. Prices are $$ and even $$$-$$$$ for some families. Ordered to-go, and waited 15 minutes past the time they told me to come for pickup. My order included 1 lb of shrimp, 1 order of corn and sausages on the side and Cajun fries. Seasoning was Pub Seasoning 1/2 medium spicy level. As an avid seafood boil lover (I frequent Boiling Crab, Kickin Crab, Submarine Crab, and make my own at home too), I was excited to see a seafood boil place in Oceanside. I was wondering if the reviews were accurate, as there was a weird mix of great and subpar reviews. Sometimes reviews can be inflated or deflated by customers who don't really know what to look for in or expect from a seafood boil. I saw a lot of reviews saying it was too expensive for what they got, so was interested to look at their serving portions, size of shrimp/corn/sausages to see if they were right. Compared to other seafood boil places, their quality seemed pretty good. Their shrimp was huge, well cooked and well seasoned. I got 17 in 1 lb for $18. Cajun fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned as well for $7. Corn was a little disappointing, they obviously weren't cooked in the sauce and only dunked in after so it didn't have any seasoning cooked into it. Sausages were the most disappointing, so thinly sliced and horribly soggy I could not eat more than a few. Overall, I do think I would try it again, and it does seem reasonably priced for a seafood boil. I saw reviews complaining about to go orders lacking things, but they seemed to have paid attention and my order came with table cover, bibs, gloves, lemons and sauces. Had a great lunch here. Ordered Combo 4 which came with 1 king crab leg, a cluster of snow crab leg, and shrimp. What really stood out to me was the shrimp - we chose head off shrimp, and they were huge and so fresh! Crab legs are always delicious - I wouldn't say they were super fresh (all of the crab shells were limp/soft), but they were good-enough. We chose the Pub sauce in mild to go with the seafood, and that was delicious. A crabby pub in the valley!! Finally got a chance to come check this place out and get my hands dirty! I've been craving a good seafood boil lately and this place definitely hit the spot. They have a small bar and a pretty nice selection of different beers on tap and in the bottle. The staff was friendly and the owner even came by and said hi. Went straight for the boils! I got the number 4 with a pound of king crab and a pound of shrimp. Comes with 2 small corn cobs, a few potatoes and some sauasage slices. For the sauce I got the crab pub sauce which is a mix of cajun, lemon pepper and garlic butter I believe. Sauce was good and I would probably stick to it next time I come back. Went with half medium on the spice level and it was pretty spicy this particular night. I'm glad I didn't get the medium, my buddy said it was kickin. All said and done it was very good and satisfying! Theres probably more I could add but I wanna go back again already lol. The price is up there but I wouldn't expect anything like this to be cheap these days.
