Earlier today, 4/26/2026, around 3 PM my wife and I decided to try this restaurant after visiting my sister. I'm glad we did! The food was EXCELLENT! I had the shrimp with lobster sauce and my wife tried the lettuce wraps. We also ordered egg rolls and cheese wonton appetizers. Portions were very good as well. Everything was FANTASTIC! GREAT, GREAT FOOD!!!! The service was very good because our server was efficient and took very good care of us. The fact that she asked if I wanted more tea was a plus. Sometimes servers neglect to check on drinks and I have to ask. I didn't have to do that at this visit. The best recommendation I can give is our desire to return and dine here again in the near future. We live in La Mesa and the trip to Bonsall is a little trip to eat Chinese food. Best Chinese in North County! Super sweet family owns it too. My favorites are the honey walnut shrimp and Peter's chicken. They have a piano bar but it's never loud. Just a quiet and really lovely restaurant. Perfect for date night or family birthdays. read more

I just had to share my wonderful experience at Peking Wok last Tuesday. It had been over nine months since I last dined there, and I must say, Anne and her team have done an incredible job with the remodeling! The dining area looks absolutely amazing, and the reworked bar is comfortable, open, and very inviting. Of course, the food was as terrific as ever! I indulged in the Kung Pao Chicken with white rice and egg drop soup, and it was absolutely delicious. This was our first time at peking wok, and although it doesn't necessarily compare to chinese food in LA or in convoy, this really wasn't bad. We sat on the dog friendly patio and ordered the orange chicken and the mongolian beef. The food came out super quickly and was surprisingly very flavorful. This is my go to Chinese takeout spot. I have never eaten inside but it looks super nice and I've heard all great things. My husband and I always get the same thing. Really impressed with their food. We enjoyed their orange chicken, mixed vegetables, and sweet and sour pork. They have a great appetizer combo too! The staff is really friendly too! Last night we celebrated my mom's birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. Ahn did an amazing job accommodating our entire family, we fit perfectly in the little back room and felt so comfortable the whole evening. Our server, Caitlin, was absolutely amazing, and the food runners and staff were all so attentive and kind. The food was incredible, and it was my parents' first time dining there. My dad is a huge Chinese food lover and a big shrimp guy, he ordered the garlic shrimp and was not disappointed at all. Never been here before, but after ordering take out during a busy Christmas time, I could see why there were so many people eating here. Menu has been condensed, so much easier to pick what we want to eat. Con...the fried wontons are no longer complimentary, need to pay like $2.25 for them if you want them. Today is a Thursday at 5:30 and wow super super long wait for our food. But this is our go-to Chinese in the Fallbrook/Bonsall area. Every now and then we will try something new, but the kids like the Chef Peters Chicken, Crispy Honey chicken and Hong Kong Style Noodles. I like their version of the Honey Walnut chicken because it has a wasabi sauce and my husband likes their lettuce wraps. Parking can be a pain at times, but worth the walk no matter how far you have to park. It is a hit and miss on busy and super busy days here. It can get frustrating some days, but it is worth the wait. Certain days they have a pianist playing, but not sure exactly what that schedule is. Maybe on Friday and Saturday evenings. It has a very cozy ambiance and pretty good size seating. We usually don't order drinks, but they do have a bar. Please add them to your list of must try when you are in Fallbrook/Bonsall area. read more

I would have given them a 5 based on past visits and their food. This time we came in at 8.30. Restaurant closes at 9. Owner was not in. Server rushed us to our table and said she needed to hurry up and take our order, then continued to rush us through our meal, giving us the check at the same time as the main course, still 15 minutes before closing. Did not ask if we wanted anything else. Ignored my wife's request for hot tea. We ended up leaving at 9.06 pm. the noisy drunk people at the bar stayed on for more drinks and were not being pushed out. I felt very unwelcome. read more

I went here with my friend before going to see a movie next door. We love Chinese and this is the only one in the area that I'm aware of so we stopped in. It was pretty empty inside yet the service was very slow. The server was mostly chatting with the bartender since it was dead inside. The food took a while to come out and the waitress made a comment about how fast we finished our food which was rude. We were trying to make the movie on time and since they are right next to a theater this should not have been surprising. The food was just okay. I remember trying the lettuce wraps years ago here and they were pretty good. I would recommend getting your food to go if you want to try it yourself. I would give it another chance if I wasn't in a hurry or if I got takeout. Or I would just come sit at the bar instead. read more

Me and my husband heart Peking Wok. We moved to Bonsall in '23 and as a Chinese person, might I say I am blessed to have this place so close. The owner is a real peach, she cares deeply for her business and those that keep it alive. The ambience is classy, cloth on the tables, piano music playing, and yes, sometimes it is live! Casual enough to stop in for a quick drink and flavor town feast, also fancy enough that you could have a celebration there. Some of our go-tos are: -Wonton chips with extra hot mustard on the side bc we love that Chinese hot mustard rush- a great beer snack and way to open up the nasal pathway! -Pork chili dumplings- delicate little morsels with an addicting sauce that I do not let go to waste. It's gets poured on whatever I have on the table. -Pork Potstickers -Chicken Shrimp lettuce cups- I crave these often, they're also great to take out and have as a meal prep item at home -Chef Peter's chicken- kind of like orange chicken minus the sticky sauce - Orange Peel beef -Singapore noodles with beef - Walnut Wasabi shrimp- served in a wonton chip bowl, it's so pretty! That wasabi sauce is a unique take and a chef's kiss! -Sizzling soup- I'm a soup person and all their soups are bomb really. Broth so good. -Tsing Tao!! Large! Ice cold! After a weekend exploring in Borrego Springs we were driving through Bonsal, and my Yelp app led me to Peking Wok. I originally ordered the food to go and when we arrived I asked if we could sit down. I was really impressed with this restaurant! The menu was quite extensive and the dining area was gigantic. The hero for me was the Kung Pao Scallops which were seared with a nice crunch but not rubbery and had a tangy sweet sauce with a tiny bit of heat. It was served with a peanuts on top and the portion was huge. The veggie chow mein was another hit at the table and it paired nicely with the green beans that I ordered. I will definitely return to Peking Wok and make my travel plans so that I pass by this wonderful restaurant. read more

First time here. Food was delicious, but it is absolutely overpriced. Also my cocktail took it close to 20 minutes to come out. There were maybe four people at the bar and two other tables inside that had already been there and then us. Couldn't find the server for close to 20 minutes and when I saw her, I flagged her down. She told me the bar was backed up and although that could be the case, I just saw the bartender continuously making drinks for people at the bar and laughing and chatting it up. Potsticker's had skin that wad a little chewy. I wasn't expecting that chewy skin. Usually pot stickers have a crispy and tender skin. Overall pretty nice for the pot stickers Shrimp and vegetable egg rolls were good. Wrapped a little thicker than normal egg rolls I feel but I feel it's great. My husband didn't like this as much. The sweet and sour sauce tasted more sweet. We were expecting sweet chilli sauce. But there wasn't any even though we asked for it. They did however provide us with plum space. I ordered steamed fish with scallion and ginger. I loved this. Fish fillet was fresh. No bones!!! There was scallion, ginger and topped with coriander. I happen to love coriander as well. This is a win for me! General tso's chicken was very good as well. Sweet tangy sauce. Lots of meat. Battered chicken lightly fried and tossed in sweet tangy sauce. It was supposed to be in a bed of broccoli but my vusband didn't like broccoli so it was in a bed of sugar snap peas and carrots instead. The restaurant is dated. Came back a second time and they served the entrees more than 20 minutes apart, I was done eating the one entree and full at that point, when I brought to the attention of the server and asked what happen, was our order dropped? He argued with us and spoke in a condescending manner, saying it's not his fault, no one did anything, but it wasn't our fault a simple sorry would have been nice, no, he tried intimidating me, wow what an experience. A hidden gem. They are just off of highway 76 about 10 miles from the 15 in Bonsall. Located on 76 and Mission. Great food. Lemon chicken and green beans are really special.
