Stopped by for lunch with my two boys on Wednesday. We were the only people in the restaurant at the time. Service wasn't very attentive, but since I visit at least twice a month and usually order to-go, I gave it a pass. This has been a consistent issue since my last review no water refills and little to no follow-up once food is dropped off. Portions do seem to be getting smaller while prices continue to go up, which is noticeable. On the positive side, the dining area and bathroom were clean and presentable. The number of unhoused individuals around the parking lot and entrance can be a bit concerning, but it doesn't deter me I'm here for the food. Still remains my go-to local pho spot here in O'side.

Banh Xeo my wife like this a lot
    Michael G.

My wife wanted her BANH XEO again. It's her favorite Vietnamese food . Its a Vietnamese Crepe stuffed with Shrimps , pork , bean sprouts and other vegetables . We were already driving back home from Los Angeles when she asked for Banh Xeo, and we were already in San Diego when she suddenly craved it. Banh Xeo is not always available in a Vietnamese restaurant here in San Diego, but gladly, there's one that I found in PHO OCEANSIDE I had the House Special Pho, which has a delicious broth and good portions of meat. The Fried rice was so Flavorful and packed with meat that was also nicely seasoned. Their Banh Xeo, my wife likes it. She said that they kind of burnt the outside a bit, but the meat and shrimp and taste, all in all, make up for it. Parking was okay, plenty of tables inside, staffs are attentive.

Chow fun no soy sauce oyster sauce instead.

I came here with family and it's a new place. We wanted a sit down restaurant which was nice. Very clean and I liked how you could see the kitchen from where we sat. I got the beef chow fun it was very high reviewed. No soy sauce they changed to oyster sauce which was nice. They accommodate well we had an onion and cilantro allergy which they made sure was served separately. Also got the beef kalbi with rice. Some egg rolls and rice rolls. Egg rolls were really good and I can't speak for the rice pork shrimp roll but it was very well enjoyed. Lots of orders because we had a large group and they were very nice. Treated us well! Very great with to go boxes per person. Very impressive! I usually take pictures but never really post but everyone in there reviews here were so I just had to.

I was impressed with the price and portion of the soups. Food was excellent and so was the service. The place is friendly and clean. Worthy of family and friends gatherings!

    Lemongrass chicken

Lunch with hubby who has never tried Vietnamese cuisine before. We both ordered the lemon grass chicken. It turns out to be an enormous pile of dark chicken meat with red and green peppers and onions on a sizzling skillet, much like the shaken beef dish. The lemongrass is shaved into long chewy strings, making it difficult to eat. The flavor is good, the rice is plentiful. The veggies are crunchy. I missed the side salad often served with this dish at many similar restaurants, and the fish sauce vinaigrette. We had leftovers which fed me twice again, so portions are generous. Service was lacking, didn't really seem to want to come to the table to take our order. Pay at cashier at the end.

Came here for some pho and it totally hit the spot! Service was super quick, which I always appreciate. I got the beef rib pho and it was better than I expected. The meat was tender and fall-off-the-bone good. The broth came out steaming hot and full of flavor, exactly what you want on a cold or rainy day. Definitely a solid spot if you're craving pho!

    Seafood fried rice

Called ahead and ordered COMBINATION fried rice. When I got there to pickup, the man who took my order said my seafood fried rice was ready. I questioned why seafood fried rice was prepared for me. I ordered the combination fried rice (shrimp, chicken, beef, pork). He refused and insisted this is what I ordered. I clearly asked for combination fried rice over the phone. He did not clarify which combination fried rice I was asking for. Instead of making me what I ordered, he told me "next time, order on the app. We have delivery and pickup." Anyways, the fried rice was very bland. I asked for soy sauce and chili oil and I wish I asked for more because it's not seasoned at all! 3/10 won't be returning.

Pho Oceanside is my family's go-to local pho spot. Great place to get a good, quality bowl of Pho for a reasonable price. Service is always quick, you seat yourself, and you go up to check out when done. My favorite is the Pho tai, but my husband LOVES their chicken wings. Lots of seating for groups of all sizes. We love watching the Vietnamese cooking shows on the tv when we go! We love the staff here, and will keep coming back for a quick, delicious pho!

Was looking for a pho place and this was only a 7 mins drive away from the freeway next to the ocean so dropped in. Lots of seating. Four large screen TVs inside, all featuring different food channels. Not a lot of places offer banh xeo, so I had to get it. Was much bigger than expected. It was soooooo good. Very creamy and delicious. Perfect crisp and oil amount. There was a total of four shrimps and a few pieces of sliced fatty pork. No ground meat. I really enjoyed it. The pho soup was a bit too sweet with msg, the noodles were on the softer side but pretty good. They offer stone pot pho for $19.99 which you should try. They also have bun Bo hue which I'll have to order next time. Lots of choices to try each time. The ice water tasted unfiltered so I couldn't drink it. Staff is helpful. The signs to the bathroom in the back is so funny.

    Beef Vietnamese sandwich

Pho Oceanside was recommended and I'm so glad I hit this local spot up. I highly recommend the PHO. The broth was absolutely perfection. Lots of authentic spices, full of lemongrass. PHO at times can be greasy. This was very clean PHO with lots of meat. The Vietnamese beef sandwich was on delicious French bread that was crispy and freshly baked. We also enjoyed a Vietnamese coffee. It's clean and authentic.

Delicious food, exceptional and quick service, and great pricing! Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu

Amazing food - get the hot stone pho! It's a game changer; the broth stays warm until the last drop. All the pho meats were tasty. We also really enjoyed the egg rolls. Can't go wrong! Will be back for sure.

Best place in town!!! New to the area and been searching for a good pho spot. Finally, here it is! We try a little bit of everything and everything is soooo delicious! Definitely our favorite spot!

And said welcome for two? have that table right there! I was shocked, immediately feeling more than welcome. So now my hopes were high. Ordered the pork fried rice, house pho, and lotus stem salad with shrimp. Where to begin my goodness, I'm salivating writing this review only one day later. Let's start with the salad, never would I order this in my life but my girl knows her Asian cuisine very well, it was the first thing she picked. And my god, freaking unbelievable every bite I had was so so tasty! That dressing is incredible along with the onions, I don't know what they do to them but man oh man they were delightful. Now the pork fried rice, what a hit! The pork is sliced so unbelievably thin and with so much flavor too, and the fried rice was all very good. Definitely not the best fried rice I've had but it was still quite tasty, I feel it was just slightly on the dry side for a fried rice. But flavor was very tasty and some bites were not dry. And the pho!! Kabang, another hit!!! The broth, noodles, everything. And they serve it with beans sprouts and jalapeno which is a must add!! The crunchiness from the bean sprouts ties the whole bowl together! Will I be back is not even a question one should ask. Boy am I glad to have tried this place!!! 9.5/10 Lost .5 points because of the fried rice. What a beautiful spot!!! Apologies for no pictures I tend to forget when on a date.

Ordered two- one for now and one for later. I called before leaving and asked if they could make a vegan banh mi and was told yes, that it wasn't a problem. I specifically asked if there was anything in the sandwich that would make it not vegan- the employee said no that if I asked for vegan than it would be made vegan. So no pate and no mayo? Employee confirmed they don't use mayo and omit the pate for vegan. Great! So I ordered two, went to pick up and paid. After getting back to work and starting to eat my sandwich, I notice that there is a creamy taste. I called the restaurant and explained that they must have put mayo in my sandwich. The employee said there is no mayo in their banh mi, so I asked what the white cream was and he said it was butter. I said I couldn't have butter and butter wasn't vegan. He then said it was vegan butter and I asked three times to be sure if I was understanding him correctly. He then said he would go check the ingredients. He read them off to me on the phone and once I heard MILK, it was game over. I told him I can't have milk and milk Isn't vegan. Then a long awkward pause and he said, "it's not?" And I sad, no, it's vegetarian but definitely not vegan. He apologized and said he didn't know. *sigh* He offered to remake them without butter so then I had to drive back and waste more time and gas. So... I drove back. The sandwiches were remade but, I'm glad I do not actually have an allergy. As I was leaving, he told me that next time I ordered to tell them no milk. That bothered me a little bit because unfortunately this establishment does not know the difference between vegan and vegetarian. To be honest, I don't know if I will return. Now I'm questioning if what I ordered the last time I was here was vegan at all. :( If you're vegan and ordering here, I don't know that I'd trust they don't use any animal products in their ingredients. I feel like you would have to ask for a list of ingredients to be sure you're not surprised with anything.

Sunshine Kitchen had a lot of diners inside and out, and I felt a little FOMO while I stuck to my decision to eat at Pho Bowl & Grill. They have two tables for outdoor seating and since no one was sitting outside and the temp was nice enough, I asked to sit outside. No problem for the guy taking care of me. He was the waiter, the guy answering the phone, the guy making sure take outs/deliveries were happening and cashier, and he got it all done! What a magician. He was pleasant enough as Asian service is about getting down to business so he took my meatball pho and diet Coke order and got to work on it. Meatball pho was delicious and piping hot and the side veggies were all fresh and abundant. Meal was very casual, I ate and slurped in peace and then went inside to pay. The decor has red throughout which is my fave color, so that's a plus. They have a beautiful artwork piece on the wall that I always forget to ask if it's a living wall. The plants look real. The downfall is this place runs warm, not enough air flow for me. This evening was there after having early hot weather this March. The food was unfortunately just ok along with the Thai Iced Tea w/boba. The tea didn't seem strong enough and the boba were clumpy. My dish didn't look like the pic on the menu that I was hoping to get. Instead of the marinated looking meat, I got more of a saucy or soupy chicken dish. It was good but not what I was craving for. I do always like to get the fried buns. You can order it with pork slices, but I requested no meat. It comes with a fish dip sauce which is good together, but good without too. The Chicken Fried rice was ok. It was bland, almost no salt or real flavor. I added hot sauce and salt. It must have been an off night or maybe us coming in an hour and a half before they closed. The food is usually good. The service is a hit and miss. Tonight the service was good and friendly and just ok since we had two people catering to our table. I would return. Like I mentioned the food is usually delish, drinks too. Now that it's summer I think I would choose to sit away from the windows where the sun beams through.

We also ordered banh mi sandwiches to go and they were so-so. Better to stick to a banh mi sandwiches shops than ordering at a restaurant, not the same taste.
