Service was fine. Food just wasn't. I was hoping I could find some Vietnamese food closer to me, but I'll keep looking.

Wowie wow wow! Walked in and the worker was talking to two…read morecustomers at the cash register. Within a second of walking in, he looked up stopped his conversation. And said welcome for two? have that table right there! I was shocked, immediately feeling more than welcome. So now my hopes were high. Ordered the pork fried rice, house pho, and lotus stem salad with shrimp. Where to begin my goodness, I'm salivating writing this review only one day later. Let's start with the salad, never would I order this in my life but my girl knows her Asian cuisine very well, it was the first thing she picked. And my god, freaking unbelievable every bite I had was so so tasty! That dressing is incredible along with the onions, I don't know what they do to them but man oh man they were delightful. Now the pork fried rice, what a hit! The pork is sliced so unbelievably thin and with so much flavor too, and the fried rice was all very good. Definitely not the best fried rice I've had but it was still quite tasty, I feel it was just slightly on the dry side for a fried rice. But flavor was very tasty and some bites were not dry. And the pho!! Kabang, another hit!!! The broth, noodles, everything. And they serve it with beans sprouts and jalapeno which is a must add!! The crunchiness from the bean sprouts ties the whole bowl together! Will I be back is not even a question one should ask. Boy am I glad to have tried this place!!! 9.5/10 Lost .5 points because of the fried rice. What a beautiful spot!!! Apologies for no pictures I tend to forget when on a date.

Updating my previous review. I had seen someone post that they had a vegan banh mi sandwich. I…read moredecided to grab a banh mi sandwich on my lunch break. Ordered two- one for now and one for later. I called before leaving and asked if they could make a vegan banh mi and was told yes, that it wasn't a problem. I specifically asked if there was anything in the sandwich that would make it not vegan- the employee said no that if I asked for vegan than it would be made vegan. So no pate and no mayo? Employee confirmed they don't use mayo and omit the pate for vegan. Great! So I ordered two, went to pick up and paid. After getting back to work and starting to eat my sandwich, I notice that there is a creamy taste. I called the restaurant and explained that they must have put mayo in my sandwich. The employee said there is no mayo in their banh mi, so I asked what the white cream was and he said it was butter. I said I couldn't have butter and butter wasn't vegan. He then said it was vegan butter and I asked three times to be sure if I was understanding him correctly. He then said he would go check the ingredients. He read them off to me on the phone and once I heard MILK, it was game over. I told him I can't have milk and milk Isn't vegan. Then a long awkward pause and he said, "it's not?" And I sad, no, it's vegetarian but definitely not vegan. He apologized and said he didn't know. *sigh* He offered to remake them without butter so then I had to drive back and waste more time and gas. So... I drove back. The sandwiches were remade but, I'm glad I do not actually have an allergy. As I was leaving, he told me that next time I ordered to tell them no milk. That bothered me a little bit because unfortunately this establishment does not know the difference between vegan and vegetarian. To be honest, I don't know if I will return. Now I'm questioning if what I ordered the last time I was here was vegan at all. :( If you're vegan and ordering here, I don't know that I'd trust they don't use any animal products in their ingredients. I feel like you would have to ask for a list of ingredients to be sure you're not surprised with anything.

And when that happens, it's usually a piping bowl of ramen or pho that will answer my body's asks, so I checked out this place! This restaurant is in a strip mall a few blocks from the pier (ok maybe more like a 15 min walk) literally next door to Sunshine Kitchen. Sunshine Kitchen had a lot of diners inside and out, and I felt a little FOMO while I stuck to my decision to eat at Pho Bowl & Grill. They have two tables for outdoor seating and since no one was sitting outside and the temp was nice enough, I asked to sit outside. No problem for the guy taking care of me. He was the waiter, the guy answering the phone, the guy making sure take outs/deliveries were happening and cashier, and he got it all done! What a magician. He was pleasant enough as Asian service is about getting down to business so he took my meatball pho and diet Coke order and got to work on it. Meatball pho was delicious and piping hot and the side veggies were all fresh and abundant. Meal was very casual, I ate and slurped in peace and then went inside to pay. Great, low key spot that makes good pho. Id definitely return.

They also give coupons out for your next use if you pay in cash It is the best pho in town with great portions!

Luckily, we got there around 630ish (PM), because not too long after, there was someone coming in every 2 to 3 minutes until it was packed-this place is popular! Anyway, when we came in, we were told to just pick a seat anywhere we wanted. There are plenty of tables put together (family style) and once seated we were able to order right away. Like I said, after we came in, it started getting a little busy so the wait for our food was a little longer than I had expected (but not too bad, maybe about 10 minutes). However, we did order some spring rolls for appetizers and those came out right away..... later, when the broth came out it was nice and hot! Everything was delicious, the beef brisket and flank steak were flavorful on their own within the broth and nice and tender. Of course, the broth, like I said earlier was very flavorful and that's definitely what you want to expect eating pho. All of the wait staff were great, cheerful and happy/attentive. We'll definitely be back, as this is definitely our go to for Oceanside pho in this area.

Would not return. Plain and simple. Here's why …read more.. Called this place for take out on a weekday evening. They didn't answer and apparently shut off their uber eats delivery option. Okay ... no problem -ish. Decided to drive to the location knowing they might be closed since they weren't answering, only to find a restaurant filled with 3-4 tables and very much open. We wanted pho so bad that we took the risk and were happy to see them open, wondering why they weren't answer their phones or taking to go orders online. I placed my order at the counter and immediately was turned off. First and foremost, MANY MANY MANY pho places allow you to skip the card heavy noodles and instead throw in a couple extra veggies. Not this place! The second I told them we have gluten and carb sensitivities, asked for maybe a few extra veggies (would have even been fine paying an up charge), the Asian man said, "NO!" right away. Okay, cheap skate!!! Then, what shocked me most was the customer service. The restaurant was literally empty, so I asked my wife to call in again to see what they did! I witnessed that same rude Asian man proceed to pick up the phone and hang up. He would pick up in front of customers and pretend he couldn't hear them, then hang up. To ensure my suspicions were accurate, I had my wife call MULTIPLE times while I was waiting inside witnessing it all unfold. Now, I understand if your restaurant is, "poppin," and you physically cannot handle the influx of to go orders, but that was absolutely not the case here. My wife would update me and say, "I'm calling now," only for me to physically see the man pick up and hang up. This happened several times (call log photos to prove it pictured here). What's odd is that the food came out SOOOO fast that it didn't even make sense why they weren't taking to go orders. Now, the biggest sadness was the pho itself. As a pho girlie, I've had my fair share of great pho. This place just wasn't it. Normally, I cannot finish my pho portion for other places and save some for later. Here, I got the seafood pho and finished it in one sitting!!! Like what?? I've never done that in my life. The take out container was about 75-80% full with lots of room on top. This isn't a coffee where I needed room for creamer. This was the bulk of what I was paying for. Furthermore, the broth was extremely bland and lacked seasoning / flavor. Sort of like "gas station pho" for lack of better words. You know when you get sushi from the grocery store versus sushi from an actual restaurant?! This was that same type of experience. Surprisingly not authentic whatsoever. I should not have been surprised though, as usually a heavy Asian populous inside any restaurant indicates great food. This place was full of white washed people, not an Asian person in sight. As a non-white person myself, this should have tipped me off right away. Overall I will NOT be back and I do not recommend this place. You'll be hungry, will have paid too much, and the flavors aren't even worth it. Not to mention the customer service. Yikes all around! Save yourself the trouble, go elsewhere!

The decor has red throughout which is my fave color, so that's a plus. They have a beautiful artwork piece on the wall that I always forget to ask if it's a living wall. The plants look real. The downfall is this place runs warm, not enough air flow for me. This evening was there after having early hot weather this March. The food was unfortunately just ok along with the Thai Iced Tea w/boba. The tea didn't seem strong enough and the boba were clumpy. My dish didn't look like the pic on the menu that I was hoping to get. Instead of the marinated looking meat, I got more of a saucy or soupy chicken dish. It was good but not what I was craving for. I do always like to get the fried buns. You can order it with pork slices, but I requested no meat. It comes with a fish dip sauce which is good together, but good without too. The Chicken Fried rice was ok. It was bland, almost no salt or real flavor. I added hot sauce and salt. It must have been an off night or maybe us coming in an hour and a half before they closed. The food is usually good. The service is a hit and miss. Tonight the service was good and friendly and just ok since we had two people catering to our table. I would return. Like I mentioned the food is usually delish, drinks too. Now that it's summer I think I would choose to sit away from the windows where the sun beams through.

I felt rushed when it came to ordering, the lady stood as if she was annoyed I didn't know what to order. 3.5 stars for the food. This place is well priced compared to any other location around. The pho was a good size but the broth wasn't as hot as I was hoping. I ordered the #1 and the meat was a little tough. It came with the usual sprouts, mints, jalapeños, but they use lemon instead of lime, so that was different. We also ordered egg rolls which were good. We also ordered banh mi sandwiches to go and they were so-so. Better to stick to a banh mi sandwiches shops than ordering at a restaurant, not the same taste. Overall, I would definitely come back if we were in the neighborhood, the prices are really good here. It was dinner time so maybe the vibe will be different during lunch time.

Fish sauce was enough to pour over everything, rice, salad, and pork. I devoured it and would definitely order again. My husband ate the pho. He said the brisket was alright by itself. He's had better. Adding hoisin sauce helps. The dish only included two packets of hoisin. (I keep a bottle on hand because I normally like hoisin with almost every bite whenever I eat pho. Restaurants never give enough.) Be sure to ask for extra! The noodles came in a bowl which is convenient. Other establishments may have the noodles in a Chinese take out box and you supply your own bowl. Overall, he was happy with his meal. The restaurant only had one table with guests. Two more tables were taken by the time I left. I don't know if I've ever seen this place packed. The decor is the same from the previous business that occupied that spot. The restaurant is fairly quiet with the exception of a movie playing on tv. I don't know the movie. Didn't pay much attention to it until I heard cussing. A lot of it. Tense scenes. The lady servicing the front paid no attention to it. Probably background noise to her. I wasn't a fan. Not exactly family friendly and poor taste imo. I went here because my usual spot is closed on Tuesdays. Overall, it was a decent experience.
