Service was fine. Food just wasn't. I was hoping I could find some Vietnamese food closer to me, but I'll keep looking.

Lately, I've been searching for a new go-to pho spot, and this place is definitely climbing back up my list. The staff was professional and attentive, and the restaurant itself was very clean. The dining room, bathrooms, tables, and sauce stations were all well maintained. I also appreciated the hand sanitizer available at every table small detail, but a nice touch. I ordered the regular pho for about $15 and really enjoyed the broth. The meats were tender and flavorful, especially the brisket and tripe. Portion sizes definitely seem smaller compared to the oversized bowls many spots used to serve years ago, but honestly it works well if you're trying to avoid overdoing it. My son ordered the grilled pork chops with rice. The flavor was good, especially paired with the fish sauce, though the pork chops could have been a little hotter and had more of that grilled flavor. Parking can sometimes be tricky depending on the time of day, but today it wasn't an issue at all. Overall, I enjoyed the experience and especially the broth. Pho House is definitely becoming one of my preferred pho spots in Oceanside again.

And when that happens, it's usually a piping bowl of ramen or pho that will answer my body's asks, so I checked out this place! This restaurant is in a strip mall a few blocks from the pier (ok maybe more like a 15 min walk) literally next door to Sunshine Kitchen. Sunshine Kitchen had a lot of diners inside and out, and I felt a little FOMO while I stuck to my decision to eat at Pho Bowl & Grill. They have two tables for outdoor seating and since no one was sitting outside and the temp was nice enough, I asked to sit outside. No problem for the guy taking care of me. He was the waiter, the guy answering the phone, the guy making sure take outs/deliveries were happening and cashier, and he got it all done! What a magician. He was pleasant enough as Asian service is about getting down to business so he took my meatball pho and diet Coke order and got to work on it. Meatball pho was delicious and piping hot and the side veggies were all fresh and abundant. Meal was very casual, I ate and slurped in peace and then went inside to pay. Great, low key spot that makes good pho. Id definitely return.

The portions are a great size for 1-2 people, and they are very quick to deliver. The restaurant is spacious and the staff is very friendly! They also give coupons out for your next use if you pay in cash It is the best pho in town with great portions!

Luckily, we got there around 630ish (PM), because not too long after, there was someone coming in every 2 to 3 minutes until it was packed-this place is popular! Anyway, when we came in, we were told to just pick a seat anywhere we wanted. There are plenty of tables put together (family style) and once seated we were able to order right away. Like I said, after we came in, it started getting a little busy so the wait for our food was a little longer than I had expected (but not too bad, maybe about 10 minutes). However, we did order some spring rolls for appetizers and those came out right away..... later, when the broth came out it was nice and hot! Everything was delicious, the beef brisket and flank steak were flavorful on their own within the broth and nice and tender. Of course, the broth, like I said earlier was very flavorful and that's definitely what you want to expect eating pho. All of the wait staff were great, cheerful and happy/attentive. We'll definitely be back, as this is definitely our go to for Oceanside pho in this area.

A quick search on Yelp gave me a few decent options but Pho Oceanside won because they were opened later than the other businesses. Our party of 3 arrived at 7:45pm on a Friday night to a pretty quiet restaurant. There were only 2 other parties dining- one being a table of about 8-9 guests. The staff let us know we could pick our own seats and provided us with menus. The offerings here are very typically of what you would expect to find at a Vietnamese restaurant. Kudos for the vegetarian options for those non-carnivorous eaters. Dinner consisted of: *P14. RARE STEAK, FLANK, TENDON & TRIPE PHO (TÁI, NAM, GÂN, SÁCH) *L6. SEAFOOD (MÌ XÀO HẢI SẢN) Calamari, shrimp & fish ball *VIETNAMESE SANDWICH- GRILLED PORK [Cucumber, pickled carrot & daikon, onions, cilantro] So this is where the visit took a dive. The one male staff member cane by with a plate of veggies for the pho. What was provided had to be the worst portion and quality I had ever received. There was only one... YES, ONE!! sprig of basil and the basil was limp, crusty, and honestly just SAD!!! I was honestly ready to throw in the towel and mentally prepare myself for a poopy meal ahead. Thankfully, my guy spoke up and made a request with the gentleman in charge- he came out with an abundance of fresh thai basil. Food was surprisingly pretty good. My daughter enjoyed her seafood chow mein. The pho was alright but the broth could have been a bit more flavorful. The banh mi was my favorite of the night and i totally didn't see that coming. The sandwich wasn't aesthetically pretty on the eyes but the pork marinade was delicious. The cuts of meat were tender and the bread was soft yet crunch in all the right places. 4 stars overall. My only bit of advice is providing patrons with fresh, crisp herbs if you are going to skimp it down to 1 sprig per person.

Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making sure we had a great meal. They even boxed up our leftovers for us which was such a thoughtful touch and treated us with some free desserts since it was a holiday. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a nice ambiance. The food was absolutely delicious and tasted very authentic. We loved the Vietnamese dishes since that's our ethnicity. But it's great that they also offer some Chinese and Thai options on the menu. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful and clearly made with care. One thing that really stood out was how accommodating they were to my mom, who is diabetic. They kindly substituted extra vegetables in place of noodles for her without any issues. We really appreciated their willingness to help and make sure she could enjoy her meal. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and excellent food. We will definitely be back the next time we're in town and can't wait to try more dishes from the menu!

I ordered take out for dinner, Rice with BBQ Pork and Pho with Lean Brisket Steak…read more The BBQ Pork came with white rice, side salad (w/ sliced cucumber, shredded carrots, and tomato slices), and one little portion cup of fish sauce. Fish sauce was enough to pour over everything, rice, salad, and pork. I devoured it and would definitely order again. My husband ate the pho. He said the brisket was alright by itself. He's had better. Adding hoisin sauce helps. The dish only included two packets of hoisin. (I keep a bottle on hand because I normally like hoisin with almost every bite whenever I eat pho. Restaurants never give enough.) Be sure to ask for extra! The noodles came in a bowl which is convenient. Other establishments may have the noodles in a Chinese take out box and you supply your own bowl. Overall, he was happy with his meal. The restaurant only had one table with guests. Two more tables were taken by the time I left. I don't know if I've ever seen this place packed. The decor is the same from the previous business that occupied that spot. The restaurant is fairly quiet with the exception of a movie playing on tv. I don't know the movie. Didn't pay much attention to it until I heard cussing. A lot of it. Tense scenes. The lady servicing the front paid no attention to it. Probably background noise to her. I wasn't a fan. Not exactly family friendly and poor taste imo. I went here because my usual spot is closed on Tuesdays. Overall, it was a decent experience.
