My husband wanted to have dinner here. We had been here when it was under a different name. The decor remains to be the same and the name of the previous place remains to be displayed on the front wall as you enter. I don't know if if it's the same employees but the service is not inviting. They are fast to bring the food out though. Could be because we were early dinner customers. As with the last business it is extremely warm inside. Before we entered, we saw the doors were closed so we were hopeful that it would be nice and cool inside. No luck. We had an extensive order for just the both of us, but we like to try as much as we can, and have leftovers for the next couple of days. We ordered -Dan Dan Noodles (complimentary dish for orders $60 & up -Shrimp Dumplings -Pan Fried Pork Shrimp Buns -Green Scallion Pancakes -Chicken Chow Mein Noodles -Sesame Balls -Fried Shrimp -Peach Seltzer water (Bottled) Of all that we ordered I enjoyed the Sesame Balls, Scallion Pancakes and the Chicken Chow Mein Noodles. The portions were plentiful. I think I would try the Green Bean dish if we decide to eat here again. But maybe we will get it to go or come when the weather is cold. Plenty of parking in this strip mall. There are charging stations. The restaurant is clean and spacious. The server could use some table training/manners when placing food down in front of the customers, but friendly enough. Food comes out hot and fresh. The sauces taste similar to our other dish so no variety in flavors. Fried shrimp was on the salty side.

(People did start trickling in around 6pm and the place was full.) We were seated at a booth. We couldn't decide on what to order and all the ones we were interested in were on the Family Tasting menu so we order that along with a Black Sesame Budino, a pot of Blue Chamomile tea (I was told that I could use it 30 times and was given it to take home to have more. I must say it really lasts about 15 before the flavor and color fades when soaking it for 3 mins), and a Melville. Everything was delicious but our favorite was the jiaozi with doubanjiang butter with scallop shrimp and charred pineapple which blew us away. The menu changes with the seasons which gives you an opportunity to return to try something new.

We ordered about half of the menu but the standouts were the swordfish birds nest, the beautifully wrapped jaozi, and the Seitoku sake. My only qualm is the ambiance left a bit to be desired, especially with a Michelin title. Aside from this, my friend and I really enjoyed our dinner and would recommend if you're looking for a nice dinner spot in the Oceanside area.

I love chicken wings and chose it for my one-item combo which includes fried rice & chow mein. Huge meal for someone very hungry...or 2 meals easily shared. The Huz had the shrimp fried rice (which they make to-order, and takes just a tad bit longer to receive) and my sons had a one-item combo with chicken teriyaki as the main. The chicken teriyaki has a sweet flavor and the boys liked it. The service is friendly and helpful. The dining area is medium size and if you can snag a table on a less busy time, it's quite comfortable and clean. This will be a regular stop for us when we're in the area.

But it's the first faster Chinese meal that did not make me swell up or like I needed to drink a gallon of water. The orange chicken was crispy, the chow mein not dry and full of flavor. The veggies were so good too! Enough garlic and not dry. Portions are huge for $13 too! Very generous. In addition to the food being good, the girl working was just so nice. She said the food traffic has decreased due to services like DoorDash and such which is a shame because she was so sweet and easy to interact with. We'll be returning soon!

Costco, Trader Joe's, etc. freezer versions are way better. chewy, room temperature. no flavor. nasty. and still gave Chin's five stars. yeah, everything else was that good. CASHEW CHICKEN (white-meat chicken wok-tossed with celery, mushrooms, green bell pepper, and cashews in a sweet garlic plum sauce). apparently, we got the nearly cashew-free edition for people with nut allergies. that was a bit confusing but still delicious. SHANGHAI CRISPY PORK (braised pork wok-tossed in a sweet and sour Shanghai sauce) was perfect. this is what I was craving: sticky, sweet, and lots of meat -- Chinese-ish American food the Chin's way. looking forward to many return visits in the near future. this time, won't even wait for a Santa Ana. ps: seems strange there's a freak weather condition named for the Mexican general responsible for the death of Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, etc. I still have a coon-skin cap in my sock drawer. Remember the Alamo.

Located in Carlsbad Village, Chin's Szechuan has been rated by San Diego locals as one of the best Chinese restaurants in the area. They serve both old school and more modern Chinese cuisine. I ordered the House Specialty, Kung Pao Three Flavors. The three flavors were chicken, shrimp, and scallops. They can adjust the spiciness of the dish based on your tolerance which I ordered on the medium side which was perfect. The sauce was a bit on the heavy side but tasty. Portion size was generous. Service was good and friendly. Besides hot tea, they also offer soft drinks, wine and beer. Parking is easy as it is located in the same Baron's Market shopping complex.
