Ordered take-out via DoorDash and everything arrived hot and fresh (hats off to our Dasher). I had the Sweet & Sour Chicken (I know, very basic), my husband had the General Tso's Chicken with Lo Mein Noodles, and we each had an order of Crab Rangoon with a side of Sweet & Sour Sauce. Everything was delicious and my husband called the store to ask about substituting noodles in the for rice that normally comes with the meal, and we were advised by the staff at the restaurant how to notate the order for that option. I wanted some Chinese food for dinner one night so I ordered from King's Garden in Carmel through Uber Eats. I have driven by this restaurant many times and from what I can see, the ambiance is very nice and has an eclectic decor inside. I ordered the crab Ragoon appetizer because it was a buy one get one free special offer and the sweet and sour chicken dinner with fried rice. Both were excellent and very good. The texture of the crab Ragoon was just right and tasted amazing. The sweet and sour chicken was very flavorful and had a nice texture as well. The fried rice was good, but lacked a little flavor and consistency. I cannot speak to the service because I ordered the food through Uber Eats, but when I do go to the actual restaurant, I will update my review and provide a better explanation. For now, I can say that the food was decent from King's Garden, and it does seem like a good Chinese restaurant to try out for dinner or lunch if you are in the mood for Chinese. read more

I swear the food her just gets better over time. I must admit when we first started going here years ago I thought the food was ok but not great. The past couple years it just seems to have gotten consistently better. We ordered he's last time on Christmas Day. They said it would be an hour to jour and a half. No worries. When I got there the place was packed with people picking up orders. Fast and efficient, they did a really awesome job. Organized, food was flowing, the guy staffing the cash register was polite and quick. Food was fresh and hot, packed well. We always order a lot to have extras the next day. Fried dumplings were delicious. Lo mein, beef with broccoli and garlic shrimp was all delicious. Egg rolls were probably the best I've ever had. My order was not ready when I arrived, so I paid and wait in my car. The owner brought the food out for me. This restaurant is small, but very clean. I have been next door to this restaurant over 100 times but never went. I was craving some shrimp fried rice so went and it's a pleasant spot. Service was great and food served very quickly. This is mainly takeout although they do have several tables for dine in. The fried rice was full of shrimp and was not spectacular but overall hot and fresh. I like dumplings with thicker skin that are pseudo home made... a little irregular and flavorful. King's garden does not use the frozen manufactured ones. They were a perfect bite with the Mei fun noodles. I took out a plate full, and the box still looked full. I'm glad I have others to share some delicious leftovers. They constructed a whole new plexiglass barrier with speakers, and seem to have the carry out game down. Just remember the number they give you when you order, otherwise it takes longer to hunt down the order. Would love it if they offered carside, but def hit the spot for Chinese takeout. read more

Typically, quality reviews on Yelp are an indicator of a quality restaurant. And rarely have good reviews let me down....until now! I can say that after tonight's meal, these reviews are overinflated and likely so because this is one of the few Chinese restaurants in the Carmel area. While my wife was happy with her meal, I ordered the Mongolian beef with a side of vegetable lo mein. For starters, the lo mein was heavy and drenched in whatever oil they used to cook it - certainly not like a lo mein I have ever had before. When I went to uncover the Mongolian beef, I honestly thought they had given me someone else's order. In fact, I had to call to verify that what I was looking at was in fact what I ordered. For those that haven't had it, this dish is typically made with flank steak and tossed in a sticky, sweet sauce. The beef they used in their version, however, was a mystery - chewy and flavorless - likely a cheap version of chicken or donkey meat. It sat in a soupy liquid at the bottom of the container and oddly.....tasted exactly like the oily lo mein. I attached pictures of every other normal version I've had, as well as tonight's mystery surprise! To top it all off, they added a bowl of soup to the bag, which we did not order. So obviously whoever came in after me walked out without a full bag or a smile. Needless to say, our search for acceptable Chinese take-out continues....this place was a HUGE miss! read more

The food is good. However, I ordered two different chicken dishes with noodles instead of rice. We have gluten sensitivities so I requested rice noodles instead of lo mein noodles. They refused to complete that request and did not have a valid excuse. I think that is unacceptable for those who need to accommodate for allergies and other dietary restrictions. My friend and I ordered delivery from here tonight. We were very disappointed. The positive is it was delivered quickly. To start with the prices are higher than comparable items at other chinese take out locations it seemed. When we got our items they didn't include any silverware. Not sure how they expected us to eat. The crab Rangoon's also were missing the sauce. The website pictured them with sauce. Both of our lo mien dishes were not good. They were kind of soggy and lacking flavor. Mine barely had any chicken. The egg rolls were ok as was the chicken noodle soup but the crunchy things to add in were stale. We ended up throwing away half of the food which isn't normal for us. We spend $40 for a bad meal. read more
