This is the largest buffet I've seen in this area. However, after the third visit on a Friday night when it was overrun by unsupervised kids it rather turned my stomach. With so many kids they would have to have staff watching the serving areas and making sure little fingers didn't touch the food or let utensils drop into the serving trays. Place has good (not great) food during the weekdays, and great food on the weekends. But if you come 1.5hrs before closing time (10:00pm on weekdays) they will stop cooking food and the trays will be half empty with cold food. If you come before 8:30, you will enjoy this restaurant, if you arrive after 8:45, you better avoid this place. They charge $13 for the dinner buffet and it won't be worth your money if you come towards closing time. They also DO NOT serve crab legs AND coconut shrimp during the weekdays, which is disappointing for a $13 dinner buffet. If this place corrects their deficiencies, they will be a killer chinese buffet in the DC metro area. I've read a lot of reviews and I agree with another yelper and think people are looking for more authentic Chinese.... if that's what you're looking for, keep going lol. This is good for what is is...Americanized Chinese and it's a buffet so you can't expect a whole lot considering you're not paying a lot lol. It's 3:09p on a Tuesday afternoon and there's a steady, nice size crowd. The food is all hot and fresh. Service has been quick and courteous. I'm not generally big on buffets because they're buffets AND I don't eat a lot lol. However, I was hungry, in the area and remembered it from the only other time I'd been here. It's just as I remember from a few years ago. In my book you can't beat $9 for all you can eat buffet and all you can drink hot tea. Not sure what tea blend they use but it doesn't taste like regular black tea, it's quite delish and requires no sugar (if you really like hot tea lol). I've been to many buffets, by far this is the best. I know the owner since this was a little teeny carry out place in Dumfries Va. They have a huge variety for the price. I always go here and I've never had an issue, everything is replenished on time. I went recently to another buffet close by and freaked when I saw how much I was charged! And they didn't even have all the variety as this place. I paid for all my kids! Here my 2 yr old doesn't pay...I don't think my 5 yr old even pays. All they eat is jello! The only complaint is that they try to cramp you in tiny spots with kids, seats, and all. Most of the people are over weight (including myself) and can't fit all into a tiny space, especially when you have to squeeze through with a plate of food! It's hazardous! We went later at night (8pm) so the food selection was probably not as great as if we had gone at 5 or 6pm, but we recognize that is our own fault. Just got their lunch buffet paid 6.23 for two veggie spring rolls, 9 pieces of fresh sushi,9 large marinated mushrooms and a few tempura fried shrimp, Let me tell you the spring rolls were FANTASTIC , as was everything else! Vegetable dishes are very fresh, I like the fried rice noodle, sea food, Zong Zi, and a few broccoli dishes. The hot and sour soup is also tasty. The place is clean, waiters and waitress are attentive, but not to an annoying extent implied by one of the reviewers. The only thing I wish it had is chocolate cake.
