steamed mixed veggies and pork with brown sauce on side.

King Wok should be dethroned! I ordered their "Healthy selection" pork and mixed vegetables with brown sauce. The meat was very very dry! Even when dipped in the sauce it did not help. It was unpalatable! My two daughters were with me and they ordered sesame sesame chicken and sweet and sour chicken. Neither of them liked their food either. These are meals we have eaten all throughout our lives and can compare. Next time I walk into a restaurant and it is empty I will tu around and run.

Ma Po Tofu
Joel L.

Authentic! Three of us had dinner on Christmas Day and every table was taken. The service is terrible. We saw perhaps only two servers for about 20 tables. We had to flag someone for every phase of our meal. The food was really good. The Ma Po Tofu was delicious. The Dumplings were very good. The Eggroll was good too. I enjoyed the Fried Rice too.

Dim Sum
Paulina T.

3 stars for dim sum this place is an okay quick fix for your cravings but don't have high expectations. It's just average and a little bland. Probably (at least it taste like) some items are frozen ready made dim sum food. But what they do pretty good here in flavors are their chicken feet and shark fin dumplings. Their turnip cake is a bit thicker and dense and has no dried shrimp flavor to it like it should. The shrimp rolls and BBQ pork bun isn't as sweet like its suppose to be. So you may need to use a bit more soy sauce, hoisin, etc... To give more taste to the food. For authentic Chinese food menu, it's pretty good! That is why its scoring itself a 4 star. They have live fish that they take out of the tank and cooked. Not many places do it here, but abundance in other city's Chinatowns. The authentic menu is pack full of flavors and definitely won't disappoint! They may have English barriers but just get pass the awkward stage and enjoy your food afterwards! That's all to it! So I would def recommend to go here for dinner and their authentic menu.

Plate underneath is NOT mine & I could only stomach 1/2 of my Pad Thai.

I had the worst Pad Thai ever. There were no sprouts, green onions, sauce or seasoning, only oil & cracked red pepper as the sauce. Also, there was not even a lemon to squeeze over for SOME flavor. When she brought the bill I told her so, but she still charged me even though I only ate half. She left to run my card for payment & while doing so she left someone else's dirty plate on my table.

King Wok has awesome lunch specials and even serves dim sum on the weekends. I eat here for lunch quite often and have never been disappointed. It's not the best Chinese food in Cincinnati but for the value and service it's a great place to grab a quick meal.

Standard par quality with a smaller portion size than I would expect. Not terrible, not great.

Go here for lunch. It is cheap and good. Gourmet? No. If you want to pay more for pseudo-gourmet, go elsewhere.

The gentleman asked if we had reservations. We did not. He simply said, "Then we'll have three more guests for the evening" or something along those lines. He was very kind. Before our friend arrived, a woman stopped by to welcome us. Top notch service so far! The ambiance is beautiful. The lighted tree and decor behind us was a lot, but it felt tasteful. Jack, our server, stopped by to get us water. When our friend arrived we had a lot to talk about. Jack stopped by several times and was very chill about us taking our time. He said he didn't mind if we still weren't ready and he'd return to check on us as often as necessary. Again, kindness and patience abound at Oriental Wok. The Ma La Dumplings were absolutely delicious. The filling was delicious and the spice level, which we knew would be spicy, was perfect. Truly a wonderful bite. I had Five-Spice Tofu. The tofu was crispy as advertised and the greens were in a very light and delectable sauce. Green onions were sprinkled with the greens. I feel sometimes greens like these are an afterthought at many restaurants. At Oriental Wok they were as much a star as the crispy tofu. Mark had Orange Chicken and thoroughly enjoyed it. He mentioned the orange flavor was perfect. Either Jack asked if we wanted dessert and I missed it or he didn't ask. Our friend thought maybe he did and she said no, but she couldn't be sure. I just remember him stopping by to ask if we needed boxes. Anyway, next thing I knew we had our checks. I really wanted dessert, but I took it as a sign it was time for us to wrap up. I'm absolutely certain he would have been more than happy to bring us some dessert and update our checks, so going without was on me and that's cool. I think it's safe to say we will be back!

I would definitely come here and I like the fact that it's open late so they can make sure that you eat if you've been drinking all night . The menu is really good and they have a lot of options. You can do vegetarian if you want as well so they have something for everybody . You'll park outside on the street and you'll come in. There's a bar when you first get in there where you actually can just sit down and they'll handle seating you and anything you need to drink from there . The staff was super cool and I definitely had a good time enjoying talking with them. They explained the menu very well so I wasn't going in blind. Even though they do have a spice level that I needed to decode, I started with a 7 and then went down to a 5 because I hear it was advisable to do that. I probably could have done a 7. Either way they can customize the spice for you so just keep that in mind . Hunan chicken and shrimp - I thought this was really good. Like I said above, it is a 5 for spice but it could have gone spicier. It definitely cleared out my sinuses. It was mad flavorful and super filling. They gave you a nice portion of it too, with a little side of rice, so it definitely hit the spot for sure Crab Rangoon - I thought that the crab ragout was pretty good even though it felt like it wasn't a lot of filling in there. The filling that was in there was very tasty and super flavorful. The sauce they gave was really sweet so if you want something sweet, this will be your deal. Think of a sweet chili without the kick Egg roll - egg roll was pretty good but it was a standard egg roll so nothing out of the box. The same sauce they gave with the crab was the same sauce they gave with the egg roll. It was savory and the sauce was super sweet so it balanced out Chili wontons - I thought these were really good and I could have eaten probably 15 more of them, lol. They came in a little bowl and they put the chili sauce all over it. It was sopping at the bottom so you basically get all the spice you were looking for. What I did was I poured the excess chili oil on my actual dish so I got extra kick to it. That actually helped a lot. These definitely stung a little bit but it was a good burn because it was a really good flavor to them . Shanghi noodles w chicken and shrimp - this was like a curry situation but that let me know what it was going to be like. The flavor was really great and super savory. This wasn't spicy at all and I usually prefer spice but it still had a very good and savory curry flavor to it. The dish had plenty of chicken and shrimp packed into it. Overall I thought this spot was amazing. I don't know what it was about it but it was super good and I would definitely go back, especially because I can go back for a late-night dish or I can go back before I start my night!

My stir-fried beef was tender, fresh, and tasty, and my shrimp tempura were hot, fresh, and a nice crisp bite. The hits around the table appeared to be the Singapore noodles and orange chicken -- all well-made, delicious, and appreciatively consumed. I love that they offer brown rice as an option. My only disappointment was on the amount of rice they supplied you with -- a small dish of rice isn't enough to accompany the meal and definitely isn't enough to take home for tomorrow's meal of leftovers. What we didn't expect, however, was such a fun, playful, creative experience. The building is huge, with bright red walls, fun decorations, and mood lighting, plus a piano player providing live music through the entire evening. Our waiter was very attentive, coming to our table & taking drink orders as each person arrived, and making sure we had everything we needed every step of the way. And then there were the presentations of the food -- my "Viagra shrimp" (jumbo shrimp) in skewers with blue m & m's imbedded in the sauce at the bottom of the plate -- the statue of the "peeking duck" placed on the table for the diner who ordered that particular dish -- and the birthday celebrations -- ice cream with a sparkler, the traditional song accompanied by a gong, and bubbles!!! They weren't exactly authentic Chinese traditions, but they added a spark to the enjoyment of the evening, and were traditional for this epic restaurant, that's been providing service for the Kentucky and Cincinnati area for 49 years!! Well, done, Oriental Wok!!
