Kin Dee - Had the spicy pork noodle soup with a moscow mule !!! - Thai Near Me - Houston, Texas

Celebrated a birthday and the restaurant was amazing. We had a table outside to help with social distancing. I was pleasantly surprised that they had decorated the table to celebrate my birthday. The food here was delicious! Particularly - the appetizer sampler, Thai flower dumplings and mango sticky rice. They put a nice twist on Thai food that I haven't experienced yet and really appreciated. The drinks were delicious, too. The staff was excellent, very attentive and able to manage a large group of diners. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the food was a bit on the pricier side given portions. I would definitely come back for another special occasion. read more

Right off the back when you walk in it is very aesthetically pleasing. Good color combinations that catch the eye and also bring out a little bit of Thai decorum. The service was a little slow in the beginning, we weren't approached for over 20min before I had to get the attention of the bartender. However, everything from then on made up for it. We decided to order some appetizers so we could try a little bit of everything. First was the flower dumplings, they had a nice and sweet doughy dumpling consistency with a delicious nutty inside. A must in my opinion. Secondly we ordered the sample appetizer that consisted of money bags, meatballs, chicken satay, Golden baskets, and pork skewers. Out of all of them the money bags and pork skewers really stood out to me. I'll definitely be back to try some entrees and some other drinks!! read more

Every dish is delicious & hello, gluten free, vegan dumplings?! Yes, please! Their cocktails are also amazing if you're imbibing.

Cocktails were great, food was amazing, the decor is lovely, the service was friendly and helpful! The co-owner checked on us, too. By partner and I got the Sabai and Tom Yum cocktails - both were phenomenal! I swear the sabai had a coconut flavor although it doesn't have anything doughnut on it, apparently, and our friend agreed with me. The Tom Yum cocktail was slightly spicy, and my partner doesn't usually like that, but ordered a second because it was subtle and tasted great. Our friend got the Purple Rain, which he loved, but I admit that was not the one for me. A little on the sweet side, almost tasting like grape. The others enjoyed it! Unfortunately, they were out of a lot of dishes by the time we went in - it was pretty late, about an hour before close on a Sunday - so we didn't get to try appetizers we were interested in. Almost everything not on a stick was 86'ed. For entrees, we had Pad Thai, Thai basil chicken, the shrimp Tom Yum noodle soup, and Kin Dee dumpling soup. Everything was wonderful! The only downside was that they were out of eggs, so the Pad Thai wasn't traditional, and the Thai basil chicken dish could not have a fried egg on top, which is recommended by the menu. We were somewhat disappointed by that, but again, we enjoyed the dishes we got. We'll have to go back! read more

This is an updated review. I went back to this hidden gem but I took my mother this time. Once again this place was amazing. I ordered the Royal Thai dumplings, and grilled pork with rice. I also (for my mom) ordered the shrimp in a blankets. She loved them. This time I ordered the Kin Dee fried rice with pork and wow absolutely delicious!!! So much flavor my mom had the thai shrimp with curry and rice. She loved it. Definitely will be coming back again and again!!! read more

Cozy neighborhood Thai. Those purple dumplings are divine. I cannot eat enough of them. Pad Thai and other Thai food staples are good.

I love Kin Dee! Everything I've had is great. I highly recommend the appetizer platter and the pad thai if it's your first time here. The northern and southern thai plates are fabulous! The real reason that I keep coming back is that the service is always great. The drinks are perfect. Food comes out quickly AND it's very clean. read more

Came here on a whim after my husband saw some reviews online. Ambience was fun and food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

Came on cold night and we sat inside. The place looked pretty busy but the tables were few. We were seated right away and a server came almost immediately, took our drink order but that is we're all the excitement of a new place ended! Food was slow and I mean 20 min slow to come out and when it finally arrived it was cold, flavors were off as well. The only drink for the table and we asked for it twice, never arrived! Manager was apologetic and we did get desserts on the house and a discount on our check but I think personally, I will not comeback I most say on their defense that the appetizers were good! read more

Ok so I found this cool spot on Instagram after seeing these pretty purple dumplings and I had to come try. Now when I walked in I was WOWed by the interior decor of the place. Even the dishes were spectacular from Gold lined water glasses, to golden chopsticks and cutlery, to beautiful purple elephant Dishes. Seriously so much attention to detail. There is an outside patio as well. Now I tried the oHandcrafted Flower Shaped Dumplings made from Butterfly Pea Flower and they were very...nutty. Worth a try but not sure if I would get again. I also ordered the fried rice with chicken which was reallllly good. Would return to try to cocktails! read more

Amazing Thai, menu prices more on the higher end but totally worth it. Great svs & presentation

Amazing food and service. Very cool vibe and great cocktails too! I would highly recommend it!

Delicious Thai food! Wonderful ambiance! Great drinks! The pad thai was covered in an egg - so creative!

Overpriced for what taste like fast food. I miss Thai Gourmet. I've tried it three times now and it's hit or miss.

Amazing every bite! Couldn't find nothing that is not some of the best food around Houston. These ladies have set the bar high. Flower, Money Bags & the Thai Shrimp I could every day. read more

The chicken Pad Thai was delicious! I was pretty surprised to have it wrapped in a thin layer of eggs, but it was super tasty and unique. My friend got the Drunken Noodles with tofu (medium spice) and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will come again. read more

Great time! Went to celebrate a birthday and had a blast! Great staff and food! Recommend!

Wanted to try this place out after work, stopped in and was pleasantly surprised they had a table right away. Even being outdoors, the waiter pulled the heater close to our table right away. A+! The drinks were interesting and beautifully crafted. I had the Asian-tini and it was really good, the pear vodka really came through the lychee flavors. A. However, it took a good 15 minutes for the drink to come out and that was when I felt this was going to be a loooong dinner. My friend got one of their wines and it tasted very flat, like it had been open for a lengthy period of time. We ordered two apps - the salad wrap and the golden basket. Both good but not unique. Apps took 30 minutes. The salad wrap had a thai chili pepper in it so it had a kick. Lots of water drinking afterwards. Main entrees came out about an hour after our order, which I thought was really long. I ordered the Drunken Noodles medium hot, and they were mediocre honestly. The ratio of noodles to veggies was 2:1, which I didn't like. The taste was nothing special and it was not spicy at all. Our table also ordered the Tom Kha Soup, the chef's special poultry rice, and the Khao Soi. Rice did not come with the Tom Kha. And the Khao Soi didn't come with the rest of the entrees, but rather like 10 minutes later. When it finally did come, it didn't come with chicken quarters and we had to send it back to the kitchen, which took another 10 minutes. The thing was at the end of all this, the manager never came out to apologize or speak to us about the slow kitchen service. Our server graciously asked them and the "best" they could do was give us a dessert. No one really was in the mood for desert at that point in time. From ordering to the drinks to the food, a whole dinner here took 2 hours. Which for a neighborhood pick me up, I felt was LONG. The food itself took 1 hour to come out after the appetizer. Shoutout to our waiter Jordan for the excellent service and checking in on us throughout the meal. He earned the second star. Will most likely not return here again, and would rather drive 15 extra minutes to Thai Gourmet or 5 minutes to Thai Street Food Market for more authentic (and cheap!) thai food. read more

Very clean and covid friendly. Good spacing, cute ambiance and attentive staff. I don't typically rate this low, however we were a little disappointed. Because the food was just ok... for the price we paid there would be other places we would go. APP: All in One - 4/5 good sampler to start off Thai Flower Dumpling - 4/5 pretty and unique MAIN: Thai Boat Noodle Soup - 2/5 wouldn't order again it wasn't very hot when it came out and it had an odd flavor. Small portions, so you won't over indulge like you would if you ate a bowl of pho. pretty presentation. Pad Thai - 2/5 we ordered this bc a lot of reviews suggested if it's your first time. It was very sweet, had a strong fish sauce flavor (which I LOVE fish sauce, but it was overwhelming in this dish) and the meat was overcooked. Oddly saucey. The egg wrapping is very delicate and good presentation. Kin Dee Fried Rice - 5/5 good rice, flavorful and delicious! NON ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Thai tea latte - 5/5 delicious and not overly sweet. Butterfly pea Flower Tea - 2/5 it came recommended by the waitress. It was too sweet, no distinct flavor. It was cool that it came out blue, and turns purple when you squeeze lime juice into the tea, however it tasted like Koolaid. Wish i got another Thai tea instead which i requested for, however it wasn't brought out. COCKTAILS: Night in Bangkok - 5/5 Asia Tini - 3/5 not impressed. Mango Mai Thai - 5/5 much better than Asia Tini Phuket - 4/5 very fun to drink and instagram worthy. DESSERT: Mango sticky rice 5/5 - i loved it. Must try this if you go! Maybe the chef was having an off night and was busy so the food might not have been to their normal standard. The kitchen did make a dish that was suppose to be vegan incorrect 2 times. Which by the time it arrived the rest of the table had finished their meal. It wasn't the wait staff's fault and they did everything they could, but it really didn't add to our dining experience. The wait staff also let us know they took time to address it with the kitchen at the importance of dietary restrictions, so that was nice. read more

So I wouldn't say this is your typical Thai cuisine, I would describe it more like "Fusion Thai". I ordered Chicken Satay, usually the it comes with a side of this cucumber dip and peanut sauce. Let me tell you the peanut sauce wasn't basic at all, it had some other ingredients that I made it so good, you kept wanting more after every bite. I also tried the Pork Dry Noodles, the entree has a lot of meat and is a great portion size if you are hungry. The interior of this spot is so cute btw! read more

Got take out today for lunch and it was quite delicious. The pad thai my daughter got was especially awesome. I got the Southern style green curry, and the only reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was because the potatoes were slightly under cooked in the curry. Liked that the curry came with noodles instead of rice. The flavors were well balanced and we will most definitely be back. Even though this was take out, I saw the inside (nice ambiance) and the server was super friendly who helped me out. read more

Tasty food and quick service! Also loved how all the plates and dinnerware were for sale.

First time here and the food was pretty good. Ambience was nice, as well. They had live music the night we went. She was amazing. Service was good too. The only turn off was they started stacking chairs and vacuuming while we were still eating. It would've been nice if they had just waited. It was still 30 min till closing and we felt rushed to finish our meal. No one wants to sit there eating their food while a vacuum cleaner is going off nearby. What started off as a nice evening ended with a nasty aftertaste on our way out. Would've given 4 stars otherwise. read more
