We really enjoyed our experience here! We came for Houston Restaurant Week. I got the papaya salad, which I wasn't a big fan of personally, but I think others would enjoy it. It was my first time trying Drunken Noodles, and I was not disappointed! The flavors were on point, though, in terms of spice, I wish it was spicier. I asked for the spiciest they had and it was more mild than anything. The mango sticky rice can with a scoop of coconut ice cream, which was perfect with the sticky rice. And the mango was perfectly ripe, sweet and tart, perfect. I think the coconut ice cream is needed with the rice, without the ice cream, the rice isn't very sweet and doesn't have much of a taste really. I LOVED the decor, the silverware (goldware really lol), and the dishes, absolutely beautiful. Outside of the HRW, their prices are up there, but I'd come back to treat myself for sure! read more

Went to Kin Dee for lunch in the heights! Thankfully there's a huge parking lot so you don't have to worry about street parking. I got the pad Thai with chicken and also had a taste of the shrimp tom yum soup. The pad Thai is wrapped in an egg blanket, which is apparently the authentic way. I prefer it where the egg is more cooked and spread throughout the dish though. I felt like the tamarind flavor was a bit lacking here compared to other places, but don't let the size fool you. I really love the Kin Dee Thai aesthetic. The space is modern, clean, and just really well designed. The marble tables are a nice touch, and they also have outdoor seating, which would be perfect on a nice day. The atmosphere made it easy to chat and actually enjoy the experience without feeling overwhelmed, which I appreciated. For drinks, I had the lychee martini, and it was really great. It came with a nice garnish (including apple), and the flavor was on point. For food, I had the Kindi fried rice, which I really enjoyed. My friend also ordered a chicken fried rice, and that looked good as well. They do have soy sauce nut you have to ask for it. I do wish I could get fried rice (instead of regular) with one of meat entrees instead of having to get both or choose between but the waiter said that was not allowed. I also tried the mango sticky rice, and unfortunately, that was not my favorite. I did not finish it, and it is not something I would order again. Something about it just did not quite sit for me. Had some lovely thai food at Kin Dee. Started with two appetizers. First were, of course, the Flower Dumplings because just look how beautiful these are of course I'm gonna order it. Had a nice crunchy peanut filling! Second we also had the Chicken Satay which were pretty simple, grilled chicken with a peanut sauce, but good! For my main I chose the Premium Tiger Cry which was a marinated steak that was cooked well, but it came with this unbelievable sauce that like shocked me at how good it was omg. It was called North Eastern Special Sauce which I'm not sure what that means but wow thats divine like I don't think Ive ever tried a flavor like this sauce before. Rice and veggies were good and loved the little container the rice came in. For dessert I had a Thai Tea Creme Brûlée which yes, it is as good as it sounds. This place is absolutely adorable! The atmosphere is really cute, and the food completely lives up to the vibe. We ordered a mix of dishes for the family, and everything was delicious: We started with the chicken wings, I completely forgot to take a picture because we dove right in, but they were perfect--incredibly crunchy on the outside, and perfectly nice and juicy on the inside. This is such a great restaurant for a date night or girls night! The vibes are super cute and the chairs are comfortable. My husband always orders the northern style curry with bone-in chicken, and it is truly one of the best dishes we have tried in Houston. I usually get the panang curry with tofu and it's always delicious and well-seasoned. The purple flower dumplings are iconic and a must-try. Was very good blend but the cup to drink from was very small, about the size of a shot glass. We then got the flower dumplings which were sooo yummy. Basically pad thai in dumpling form. I got the pineapple fried rice which was interesting but very good. Had raisins in it which is not what i was expecting! And also came in this large pineapple bowl lol. Solid Thai food, and prices aren't crazy given inflation and the Heights location, so that was an unexpected surprise. Service is good. I really like that lots of items on the menu had photos, it definitely helps set expectations of what you're actually getting. I got the Northern Style Curry (Khao Soi), which came with a whole chicken quarter. Slightly disappointed with the minimal pickled mustard greens that I LOVE having with my Khao Soi. My girlfriend got the Shrimp Tom Yum, which I thought was a bit watery and didn't have enough sourness to it. I hadn't been to Kin Dee in years. I had gone once during Houston Restaurant Week and remember not being all that impressed, but the restaurant sent me a coupon not long ago for $50 off my meal as a returning customer. How could I turn down a free $50? So, I decided to give the restaurant another chance, and I'm glad I did! Parking was easy, although we went earlier in the evening. I know that particular lot to get pretty full pretty quickly. We also made a reservation, so there was no wait at the restaurant. The ambiance was great - more upscale than what I am typically used to for Thai food, and their place settings were beautiful. I did have to ask for a clean glass because mine was dirty, but the wait staff ameliorated that quickly. We ordered several dishes including the drunken noodles, Pad Thai, and Panang curry. Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented! My favorite was the drunken noodles - pad kee mao with a combination of proteins, veggies, and Thai basil. So yummy! The portion sizes were generous and ordering family style was a great way to try several dishes. The price tag is a little hefty for Thai food. Even with my $50 off, I still paid a good amount for the meal. Kin Dee is a great place to visit for good Thai food, but not if you are on a budget! read more

Kind of sad I can't give it a full 5 stars because when I came here back in 2021, I was blown away by the food, service, and atmosphere. I came in for a solo dinner, and my order was taken within a few minutes. The food came out fast, which I appreciated. I got the Tiger Cry and the stir-fried Thai basil chicken with a fried egg. The Thai basil chicken was stellar, and made for great leftovers the next day. The Tiger Cry was just okay for me; not very flavorful, and with so many other standouts on the menu, I probably wouldn't reorder it. I'd still give the food 5 stars. The service, though, just wasn't what I remembered. No one checked on me during my meal, and after I finished eating, I had to flag someone down for both a to-go box and the check. Cute cozy Thai restaurant located in the heights. They have plenty of parking in the back! The food here was amazing! The Thai tea tastes like it was freshly brewed! Our server Kay was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Without even asking she brought us chili oil, red pepper flakes, and peanuts in case we wanted more spice! I was slightly disappointed there was zero spice in any of the dishes and the portions were pretty small despite the prices. The restaurant itself is pretty small and might need a reservation if more than 2+ people during busy hours. We had a 5 person party but was able to get seated Sunday dinner on a high table. This time we had an amazing experience as well, our server Brittany was outstanding very helpful with the menu, and her service was excellent. I came here for dinner on a weekend night for the first time. We made a reservation but it wasn't too crowded, so might not be necessary since they have a sizeable space. I am vegetarian and have celiac (strict gluten-free), and they had several options available. They also cook a vegan batch of curries and a regular batch of their curries. We ordered the Thai flower dumplings for appetizers, which was the price of an entire, but also a very unique and delicious dish I haven't had before with a savory and slightly sweet filling, chewy dumpling texture and 5/5 for aesthetics. I had the panang curry with steamed tofu, which was savory and delicious, though a few vegetables might have been a nice addition. Thai tea was pretty decent, and definitely on the sweeter side. My partner had the Khao soil and said it was excellent! They have an interesting vibe, with the wall art and a live DJ. They had nice plates, which were even available for sale. The restaurant is midsize and was quite packed when we went on a Wednesday evening. We were a party of six and we got immediately seated, which was really awesome. The server was very kind and made a few mistakes with our order, but that's totally fine since we are vegetarians and made a few customizations.
