RUN - DONT WALK!!! Okay, I don't usually post Yelp reviews but it's been almost 24 hours since I indulged in my first bite of the Northern Curry and it is all I can think about. This was one of the best meals I've had it all of houston or really ever. The service is impeccable - we were greeted by floor managers throughout our meal and our waitress delivered 5-star service. She actually recommended the Northern Curry as her favorite dish - I had full intentions on getting the pad Thai prior to arriving and I am so glad she guided me to the curry instead! Not to diss the pad Thai as my boyfriend had it and it was chefs kiss. BUT THAT CURRY THO. drooling just thinking about it. Side note - they also made one of the best dirty martinis I've ever had which was a very pleasant surprise. I had to get the award winning margarita too, it's so beautifully presented! I have nothing but great things to say about this place - I'm so happy we discovered it and can't WAIT to be back!!! read more

I came here on a Sunday night, and they had a live singer! The staff were extremely friendly, and the food was delicious. We ordered the money bags, pad see ew and crab and egg omelette. The star dish was the mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream! The ice cream alone was 11/10. Sadly they do not sell pints of it because it was the best coconut ice cream I've ever had. read more

I have to say both the wife and I were a little bit disappointed with our experience here, especially after reviewing all the raving reviews. We got the flower dumplings, chicken, satay, skewers, and crunchy salad to start out. We didn't have any problem with any of the appetizers. It was more the main dishes that were a little bit concerning. Penang curry and drunken noodle and both were....interesting. The curry had too much fish sauce in it, and did not have any vegetables or peanuts... It was just curry sauce and chicken pieces. That's it and it tasted very fishy. The drunken noodle was a very hearty interpretation, but it hardly was spicy for supposedly being "medium spicy" level, and the flavor was somewhat lacking, compared to the thousands of times I've had this dish at other restaurants. Service during lunchtime was good. I was very pleased that they packaged hour ago instead of throwing boxes at us. The ambience was pleasant. Very upscale interior, especially as far as Thai restaurants go. Bottom line... I will not be making a trip to the Heights again from Tomball for this place . read more

Wow, great Thai spot! If you're in the mood for some Thai with a nice ambiance and execution that's on point look no further. We tried the papaya salad, it's very simple and to the point as it should be - glad they didn't try to make it something that it's not. My favorite dishes so far are the Northern Style Curry and the Spicy Pork Sauce Noodle Soup. Also the Thai Basil Chicken is very good - the smell and flavor reminds me of my trip to Thailand. Been to Kin Dee twice and can't wait to go again! Will try the chicken wings and Thai Flower Dumplings next! read more

Had no idea this place was tucked away in the plaza, but now that I do I definitely have it on my radar for a return trip. There was ample parking in the back lot when I went in on a Sunday afternoon. The ambiance is great. Very clean, open, and modern with a lot of indoor and outdoor patio seating. All of the drinks I ordered were presented beautifully. If you're looking for a refreshing drink on a hot Houston day, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The Thai papaya salad delivered the refreshing spice you would expect and the Thai flower dumplings were one of the most unique Thai appetizers I've had in Houston. Our waitress was very helpful with recommendations for mains. Maybe next time I'll embrace the spice and dial it up a notch. read more

Came here for a girl's night dinner with a friend, and absolutely LOVED IT. The vibes inside are so fun. It's a really cool spot, lovely decor, great ambiance. It's more of a casual spot - large groups, families, etc. but they did have a singer the night we came playing cover songs and it definitely added that fun element to the ambiance with high top tables where people were drinking, dancing, etc. We shared the pork belly as an appetizer which was DELICIOUS! Cooked perfectly. I ordered the Panang Curry with no rice, and loved the curry. Perfect flavor and the shrimp was juicy and delicious. The wait staff was kind, timely, and we had no issues whatsoever. All in all a 10/10 experience! Would definitely come back if I'm craving Thai food read more

I came here on a random week day evening to catch up with a friend. I'm not sure if they have this every night but when we came, they were playing live music. It was a nice vibe, but the music was pretty loud, so I had a difficult time hearing my conversation with my friend. We had to yell to talk lol. I would say this is probably a slightly more pricey Thai place. The portions are still good, but I've had other Thai places that are a little less pricey for the same size portion. The presentation here is very aesthetic though. I would say you're probably paying for the vibes and aesthetics. We tried the Thai flower dumplings and pad see ew. The flavors in each were all so good. Don't try the Thai flower dumplings if you have a peanut allergy though. They were very pretty and tasted so good. I saw a lot of tables around us ordered the "all in one" appetizers, which included a large variety of appetizers. I would probably try that next time I come here. That way you get to taste a little bit of everything. Service was great, and food didn't take too long to come, despite how busy it was. I came at around 8pm on a weekday evening, which was honestly still really busy. I recommend making a reservation beforehand. I had a reservation and was seated right away. The parking lot was big with plenty of parking. read more

I came on the 2nd Friday since they opened. My bf and I had mini salad wrap, northern style curry, red bbq pork dry noodles. First off, the ambience is pretty nice. It's a higher end Thai place with a bar inside and some outdoor seating as well. Service was attentive. As for the food, their noodles are great. I see why it's advertised as a noodle soup place. The northern style curry dish was definitely our favorite. I'm not sure about the mini salad wrap. The taste is fine but I was confused as to whether I'm supposed to be eating the leaf or not. The pork dry noodles was also just ok. The noodles were good but the pork was overly dry and kind of tasteless. Overall, it's a solid place and I would come back to get more noodle dishes. read more

Our initial experience was great. But that quickly soured. We ordered appetizers and drinks. I ordered a lemonade which took over 10 minutes. Then we ordered our entrees. And that was the last time our waiter stopped by our table. Our food was delivered by the manager. I needed to ordered another lemonade but we could never get our waiter's attention. So we asked another waiter, after waiting for 10 minutes we asked another waiter. Still no luck. We finally got the attention of the manager while trying to get the attention of our waiter. She came over and finally got my lemonade. We were going to order desserts but after waiting over 20-30 minutes in total to get a second drink. And the fact that our waiter had completely abandoned our table. We did not wanted to be there any longer. The food was okay but the service completely ruined our meal. read more

Pretty overpriced food, and even their happy hour deal isn't good. It's very vibey and has a lot of beautiful cutlery and plates, so this is definitely a good restaurant to take aesthetic food photos at. When I went with my friends, service wasn't great. There weren't that many people but it was really hard to track down a waiter to order, get our check, and have our check returned to us. We ordered the pretty flower dumplings and some fried rice, and both were pretty mediocre. The flower dumplings are not worth the price tag, and it was quite bland and made me wish the outer filling was of a different consistency/texture. The fried rice was alright, but I've had better at far cheaper places. read more

We were here for lunch this past Saturday and the place is not too crowded which is good because of the COViD19. It made us feel much safer. The restaurant also did a good job of spacing out the guests. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance. They also have a small patio for outside seatings. Service is wonderful. Presentation is very good. Food was mediocre for my taste. The only thing we liked the most was the Thai flower dumplings. read more

I came here for the first time on a Saturday night and it was a vibe! There was a live DJ, so it was a little on the loud side. The food was amazing! We first had the Thai Flower dumplings. It was really soft on the outside, but the inside was crunchy and full of flavor! I would definitely recommend. Next, we shared the All-in-one appetizer platter. Everything on the plate was delicious. The chicken and beef satay were very tender. For my main course, I had the Northern Style Curry. The noodles were crispy, which added a nice texture to the soup. I would recommend trying this dish. Last, I chose mango sticky rice for my dessert. It did not disappoint. The sticky rice was nice and warm and the coconut ice cream had just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Neighborhood Kin Dee? Huge Yay. I went here on girl's night and we sat outside on the patio surrounded by cozy space heaters. Adorable YES. Trendy YES. This is SHOULD be your next date night spot!! Or better yet, GNO. So we ordered a few of everything and decided to share. These were a few of my favorite things: First up, a drink- Asia-Tini. The asian tini was sweet- but not too sweet and had a nice pairing of pears as a garnish. The flower dumplings (delicious) and surprisingly gluten free. Your girl, can appreciate these things!!! Sweet, savory, and cute presentation. Thai papaya salad was spicy and refreshing with a bit of a crunch. Exactly what you'd like prior to your meal... Lastly, the mango sticky rice. A classic dish, but important in representing the basics. Delicious, beautifully presented, and a very enjoyable end to the night. One of the gals was gluten free, and the other vegetarian, the kitchen was so accommodating and the waitress was very informed on what we could and couldn't order. read more

The atmosphere was lighthearted and the service was warm. We ordered the Thai Flower Dumpling and Shrimp Tom Yum soup. Both satisfyingly decadent. Kin Dee is such a beautiful restaurant, inside and out. Since it was a nice spring day, I decided to dine on the front patio facing Shepard (there's a back patio as well). I tried the money bags which came out piping hot, compact but crunchy and full of flavor. For my entree I ordered the glass noodles with shrimp. I almost always have leftovers when I eat at restaurants but this time I ate every bite and still Could have tried more. Everything was just that good. I will surely try more of the menu next time. While I'm pretty loyal to my favorite Thai spot around the corner, I was excited to try Kin Dee at their Pride benefit brunch. We had such a fun time together and the food was authentic and amazing! The prices and portions definitely have a more upscale feel, so you'll want to get an appetizer and possibly share an entree or two if you really want to feel full. I highly recommend the sampler appetizer dish and the tom kha soup. Their brunch dishes were also really good, as were their very unique cocktails. Service was a little slow, but like many restaurants they seemed understaffed. The manager was very attentive and came to check in on us often. Make a reservation, have some patience, and enjoy a long meal! read more

I have had Kin Dee on my list for a while, so I was super excited to try them out this weekend. My husband and I went for lunch and tried an assortment of apps, entrees, and desserts. The grilled pork skewers were probably my favorite item that we tried, along with the Thai tea latte. The pork was just so juicy and tender. It had a fabulous Thai bbq flavor with a hint of char. It also came with sticky rice...man, the combo was delicious! The Thai tea latte was just stellar - extraordinarily flavorful and light. I could have had a few if we didn't order so much food (lol). I wanted to like the duck soup, but it was just too much duck, and the flavor profile was pretty sweet. The Tom Yum soup was decent and had a bit heavier broth than other restaurants, but you would probably want that for the main dish. Not pictured was the mango salad (very spicy, even the mild, but had a nice flavor), the mango sticky rice dessert, and coconut ice cream dessert. The coconut ice cream was made in-house (I think) and was light, creamy, and flavorful. It tasted great with the mango sticky rice. read more

Been here once on a Saturday night and really enjoyed it!! We came here very impromptu and managed to get two seats at the bar. I recommend making a rez as this place does get busy and we just got lucky. Super fun. The music and the wait staff all helped create a fun vibe and I was there for it. I could have sworn I already written a review for Kin Dee, but apparently I haven't. We visited earlier in the year, I believe around the end of February. We walked in without a reservation and Covid guidelines were still heavily in place, but we were accommodated. The restaurant is beautiful, everything was well presented, and there was also live music. In addition, service was above standard and the owner even came to visit our table and suggested that one of my daughters try Dr. Pepper with lemon, which was one her favorite twists on the soft drink. However, we were slightly disappointed with the food and they were also out of several appetizers that we wanted to try. The food wasn't bad, but I wasn't wowed away. I think I had higher expectations than what we received in the flavor department. See pics for what we ordered. If I had to highlight anything it would be the mango sticky rice. read more

Overall rating: 4.5 happy hour 50% off 2nd drink! Food :classic Thai cuisine such as Pad Thai, purple dumplings, and minced chicken Texture: oily and coated in sauce, the pad thai melts in your mouth while being firm Pricing: plates range from 15 to 30, drinks are 13-40 depending on size Ambiance: red and white with outdoor dining too and sacred elephants on the wall for art! It's open and well lit Seating & Parking: plenty of seating I adored the red plush chairs Service: friendly and quick, they sometimes bow which is very sweet Music: pop and sometimes Thai music Bathrooms: male and female Final comments: a solid spot in Houston for authentic Thai food! Kin Dee - this place is kind of confusing but 3.5 stars First the ambiance is a lot (at least Saturday night it was) It's so loud inside. The DJ/music is extremely loud so everyone is yelling to have their conversation lol. The staff is friendly so that was nice - the owner/manager awkwardly danced around all night and did not approach any tables asking if we were enjoying our meals or anything. I worked in a restaurant for 6-7 years when I was younger so that was kind of weird to me especially because I think this place is newer. Not a turn off but He's very noticiable hahaha. My friends and I found it entertaining. ‍ My main complaint: our food and drinks took entirely too long to arrive to our table. Drinks took maybe 35 mins. We honestly had to ask about them because we were like what? Then it took about another 30-35 mins for our food to arrive. We ordered a second round of drinks half way through our meal and those didn't arrive until we were done eating and wanted the check. We arrived at 8:30 pm and left around 11:10pm and that was primarily because of how long the service took. Would I come back? Sure but I might order to-go. They were also out of a few drink options so I may swing by for a happy hour. read more

Cute place with pretty food and nice drink selections. The food were very visually pleasing and tasted good. The taste was not, however, 'wow.' It certainly was more prettier than being tasty. We ordered the famous flower dumplings, panang curry, and the all-in-one appetizers. I ordered the cocktail, "Tum Yum" which I loooved. If you love spicy yet citrusy cocktails like me, I can guarantee that you'll love this. I would still come here again, because the atmosphere was nice and the yummy cocktails. Definitely glad that my husband suggested that we try this place out for lunch on Memorial Day. Everything we ordered was flavorful and they take pride in their presentation. The drinks we ordered were definitely strong but paired off with great tasty food, made for a wonderful dining experience. The establishment alone is very clean and well maintained. Very good Thai dinner if you're wanting a more upscale experience. Their cocktail game is so strong, in terms of aesthetics and alcohol. They have really cute garnishes, my ice cube Ahmad a Thai chili frozen into it! The parang curry was super flavorful and creamy, but not too spicy. They have spices to add onto your dish if you want more kick. The chicken skewers were a great starter and came with a peanut sauce. The pad Thai is served wrapped in a thin egg omelet almost and was really tasty! The flavors were a little more tomatoey and sweet but I love all pad Thai.
