Thank you Miguel! You were amazing I came for the pad Thai, and I stayed because my tongue signed a lease. This place nails it--no soggy noodles, no sad shrimp, just a perfectly balanced flavor bomb that makes you question every other pad Thai you've ever eaten. The service? Like being welcomed into a spicy noodle cult--but with smiles and water refills. Now, a PSA from someone who learned the hard way: respect the spice level. They ask you how hot you want it. LISTEN TO THEM. Don't be a hero. I foolishly inhaled mid-bite and got a nostril full of chili vengeance. 10/10 would still order again... just maybe with a side of tissues next time. Bottom line: delicious chaos in a bowl, served with heart. Go now. Just breathe carefully. read more

Winner, winner, Thai dinner! I had scoured the internet and food blogs for the best Thai restaurants in Houston. Kin Dee caught my eye and intrigued my taste buds with the visual artistry of food presentation. They did not dissapoint tonight. We did not have reservations so we grabbed a seat at the bar. The female bartender was so helpful explaining each ingredient and how to eat each order. We started with the vegan dumpling with a beautiful blue hue. These dumplings were beautiful and packed with crunchy peanuts and flavored filling. Our bartender suggested we wrap them with cilantro and cut a small piece of thai chili pepper for flavor. She nailed it. These were 5/5 easily. She had also encouraged us to try the salad wraps. 4 individual royal leaves, grown by the owners daughter formed a cup for dried shrimp, shaved coconut, small piece of thai chili, and sweet sauce. They were to be eaten in one bite. The flavor and explosion of taste was memorable and incredibly delicious. This is a MUST TRY. Another great choice! Our final choice was the pad thai and it did not meet the previous dishes. The pad thai was wrapped in an egg or light pancake roll. The roll was bland and dry. It took away from the juicy flavor. The choice was fine but a real let-down compared to our previous selections. Overall, this dining experience was good and close to great. They deserve a 4.75 / 5. Please treat yourself to a dining experience for you taste buds and your eyes. The combinations with exception of the pad thai, were fabulous. Kin Dee has a young, hip vibe as a DJ was setting up as we left. There is nothing but positive energy here. Good job, we will be back! read more

We were able to walk in on a Saturday afternoon with no issues. The waitstaff was kind and we had multiple employees help us throughout our meal. The appetizers stole the show. Driving up there is plenty of parking in the back. The place located at the end of the building on the first floor right by the valet. The outside seating is super cute and the inside is very elegant. You definitely know you're going to a nice restaurant once you walk in. The staff was very friendly and helpful, top quality. This place has a list of unique fancy drinks so we had to try them. I had the margarita. The drinks are pretty expensive but they do look extravagant, taste is good, alcohol percent is alright. Started with the Tom kha soup. I love Tom kha soup but this one was alright. It was definitely very good but it didn't blow me away. The panang curry was also a bit disappointing, I think mainly due to the plating, it would be better if served in a bowl. The drunken noodles were the best one, definitely recommend getting them spicy. Last the mango sticky rice was very good. I think the ice cream was a pandan ice cream which was my favorite thing. I recommend trying it if you're looking for a new Thai spot. It's a perfect date spot. They have live music, it's a cool scene. read more

The hubby and I were finally in The Heights & finally we got to eat some damn good Thai cuisine! (This place apparently gets busy, so make a reservation.) We enjoyed drunken noodles, green papaya, salad, the famous flower dumplings, glass, noodles, and the mango sticky rice... Oh, my goodness! I definitely could've had more of the mango, sticky rice and I'm not even a dessert person. The portions won't leave you leftovers, but the flavor & ambiance are worth it! Looking forward to coming here again & again! Sorry to have skimped on the pics! read more

Kin Dee has ruined other Thai places for me, in the best way possible. I have always loved Thai food, especially Pad Thai, and Kin Dee has made my love of it even greater. The standard take out places just don't even compare anymore. The service is always great and ambiance is so nice, although I could do without the loud music during dinner, making it difficult to talk with my group. My favorite appetizers are the Thai Flower Dumplings and Money Bags. They are a bit pricy for the portion sizes though. The All in One is a great way to try multiple options for a more reasonable price. And everything in it tastes great. For entrees, I always have to get the Pad Thai with chicken and shrimp. It comes wrapped in an egg omelette, which feels more unique and so delicious. It has a great flavor - very well balanced and not overly sweet like other places. The Panang Curry is also great. We recently tried the Mango Sticky Rice which was good, but different than other ones I've had. And honestly, I prefer other places better. They also have excellent cocktails. The Purple Rain is my favorite. I have also had the Sabai, Butterfly Pea Margarita, and Saneh Jan, which are great as well. They are all well balanced in flavor and just delicious! read more

Insta-worthy Thai restaurant in the greater Heights area. Service was attentive, recommendations were made available if needed. My partner and I went on Saturday afternoon, around noon and were seated immediately. There were about 8 tables occupied when we arrived but there was plenty of seating both inside and on either of the two patios (yes they have two). For lunch we both got the Pad Kaprow aka Thai Stir Fry Basil. Ordered it mild but was served with the spices in a separate dish, which I loved since I like to make it a tad spicy. I would give it a 4.5 out of 5. Here's a tip, get it with the egg and then mix everything up in a big mess, then enjoy. Add spices if needed. For dessert, we tried the Mango Sticky Rice. It's a coconut based ice cream over sweetened rice with sliced succulent mango. This is a 5 star dessert. read more

Kindee was an absolute delight on a Saturday night for the ELEVEN of us that visited. Despite being such a large group we had the greatest of service and super nice waitresses and waiters that really took care of us. They even were able to split the bill. 10/10 service Food was both authentic and beautiful. The flower dumplings have a peanut filling that's delicious but the money bags were my favorite. I love a place that has adequate spice and they gave us like 4 spicy sauces. Drinks are out of this world gorgeous and like many people said, STRONG. so you get your moneys worth and that feels nice tbh. The mango sticky rice dessert I mean I have no words, just please get it and eat it. Restaurant itself is also beautiful and they had live dj/music when we went. Overall, a moderately pricey place but nothing unreasonable and I would 10/10 recommend! we will be returning!! read more

We've been wanting to give this place a try and we finally made it today! The restaurant is located in a nice neighborhood in the Heights and there's a nice outdoor parking lot at the back of the restaurant. Upon entering, I was impressed with the chic, exotic interior design and the shop is overall well decorated. Our servers were pretty attentive and helpful and the manager, Alex, was super friendly and came to chat with us a couple of times throughout the lunch. My favorite dish along all was the purple flower dumplings! It's super yummy and beautiful to watch - tastes as good as they look . The Tom Yom Soup with shrimps was huge and delicious. Pad Thai, to my surprise, was not particularly impressive but the shrimps inside are really good and the presentation was beyond good. One of us ordered fried crab omelette and I would recommend against it as it's a little too oily and not flavorful. Lastly, their cocktails are all very presentable. I ordered Phuket, which is a pineapple cocktail in a huge real pineapple container. A friend ordered a purple one with a lychee on the bottom - yummy and chic ! Overall I give 3.5/5 for the food quality, 4/5 for cocktails, 5/5 for food presentation and 5/5 for interior design. read more

The most kind and attentive workers! The food was delicious and well seasoned, and the portions were satisfying.

First time trying this place and I was not disappointed. To be honest I was a little hesitant because their prices are a bit higher than other Thai places I usually go to. I placed my order online which was pretty easy and I chose the curbside pick up option. My order consisted of the money bags, pad Thai with shrimp and the mango sticky rice. I received a phone call after placing my order to insure I wanted the mango sticky rice as a plate and not a drink which is also an option. I found that to be nice of them to make sure they were preparing my order correctly. I approached the front of the Restaurant or what I thought was the front. I called the number as instructed to inform them I was parked outside. After waiting 5 minutes I called again and was told they didn't see me. Turns out I was parked on the wrong side. I would suggest a sign where curb side pick up is. Now I'm home with my food and the money bags were okay. They had a nice crunch but the filling lacked flavor. It did come with a sweet and sour sauce but not enough in my opinion. The pad Thai was good and came with a good amount of shrimp. Not spicy at all, but was wrapped in an egg omelette which was the first time I've seen that. The mango sticky rice was a let down. The mango itself wasn't sweet which I guess isn't their fault as it's not mango season. The sticky rice was dry and lacked that sweet flavor. read more

I've been searching for Thai food that will knock your socks off. I think I finally found it. My food was so flavorful the perfect amount of spice. I almost licked my plate. If there wasn't people around, I think I would've. The drinks. Also have a ton of different flavors infused. I'm not too big on green tea, but the crème brûlée was actually pretty good. A friend of mine kept telling me about this place so, I was finally able to go for an early dinner. There is construction going on right on Shepherd Dr. so don't go there with a small car, you will bottom out trying to get out of the back side of the parking like right now. There is a good sized parking lot in the back of the building which was nice. When we walked in we were able to sit down right away, I don't recommend the hightop tables though if you're short like me, they are a bit uncomfortable. We were sat at a hightop but they were really nice and allowed us to move to a shorter table that opened up. My friend recommended the Thai Flower Dumplings which were different from any dumpling iv'e had so far but were really good. We also tried some chicken satay skewers which were really juicy and flavorful, usually when skewers are cooked the meat is dry. For my meal, I had the Pad See Ew with chicken, and they bring out all the spices for you to flavor your dish to the spice level that you like, and I appreciated that. This dish was great without adding any spices, I only put a bit of the red pepper flakes and that was good for me. I also tried the Crab fried rice that my friend ordered and it was really tasty and had really lump crab meat. Lastly the dessert was fire! I didn't know how I felt about the coconut ice cream but that combined with the sweet warm sticky rice and the mango was really good. The service was awesome as well, the waitress explained how to properly eat each dish and all the sauces and spices. She made sure we had what we needed at all times. Came here with another pair on a weeknight. Parking is plentiful in the complex where the restaurant is located. We made reservations and were seated immediately. Customer service was outstanding from start to finish, with our waitress Esther stealing the show. She explained all the dishes as they came out and told us how to properly eat each items with its accompaniments. The manager was very present and made sure everything was good. The menus was available digitally. Proper pandemic protocols were present as well. On to the food. Between the four of us, we ordered quite a bit of the menu. We tried different drinks, but my favorite was the Phuket which came beautifully presented in a pineapple and had a tropical taste to it. Of course we ordered the flower dumplings which I feel is what brings people here (guilty). Out of everything, this was the most underwhelming flavor wise, but not bad at all. We also got the All in One which had a variety of different appetizers items. All were tasty. For entrees we tried Thai Basil Chicken, Pad Thai, Panang Curry and Drunken Noodles. Not all items were customizable as far as heat levels go. I'm not used to that at Thai restaurants. That being said, the levels were just right for each dish. My favorite was the drunken noodles and chicken dish. I would order all these items again as they were all delicious in its own ways. I would definitely come back here if I'm the area. We left completely satisfied! read more

Overall a good Thai restaurant. Papaya salad was tasty but not quiet as refreshing as few other places in the H. The Pad Thai was good and probably deserved 4.5 stars. The Kao Soi was very good. Another 4.5 star dish with my only knock was its not as rich tasting as a competitor. I would get it again though. Mango sticky rice was just OK. Def have had better in other locations. Service was knowledgeable but drink refills were hit and miss. Strangely, the server asked how spicy we would like our salad but didn't ask about the entrees. My wife had an issue with her Pad Thai being to spicy for her. Overall a good location that feels hip. read more

This was my first time here. I have been meaning to try it but haven't made it there yet. It is a bit hard to find with the construction, but I finally figured it out. It was crowded at 8 on a Sunday night but I was able to get a table quickly. I am guessing it gets very busy on peak times. I had the sampler appetizer and it was very good. Lots of variety. I also had the northern curry. This is very different from the normal Thai curry places and I loved the difference. There are so many different things to try and would like to get back there to try a few more things. They had live music which was also very nice and unexpected. the service was very good and everyone was very nice. Loved the ambiance here! This is not your traditional Thai restaurant, but more on the trendy/modern style. The center has plenty of parking which is convenient in the Heights. Kin Dee would be a great gathering spot with a small group of friends or for a date night, especially on live music evenings (check their website for schedule). We were greeted by friendly employees, and were checked on regularly and waters refilled often, the service was great. We ordered the Money Bags appetizer to start with which were yummy and like fried wontons. We then ordered Thai Wings, Papaya Salad, and the Drunken Noodles (medium spice) which was pretty spicy but delicious. The presentation from the table set up to the plating of our food was all really nice! The prices are a bit steep as portions aren't as huge compared to other family style Thai restaurants. Overall, we had a great experience at Kin Dee, and as their sign on the main wall said..we sure lived well since we ate well! read more

This was by far one of the favorite dines of this year. They have ample outdoor seating weather permitting. Also ample: off street parking. With the logistics out of the way. Some of the photos online had me fearful that it was an Instagram restaurant that would lack flavor or authenticity. -WRONG That vanished instantly when the picture perfect, Thai dumplings arrived. The server shared for the best experience take a small bite of chili with the dumpling and chase it with a bit of cilantro. I paused jumping in, artful flavors became a vivid photographic flavor of Thailand. The money bags were delicate extra crispy trophy's . The best I have ever tasted.. the oil they were cooked in also beautifully clean. The pad Thai had an extra boost of protein with the delicious omlet style delivery. Overall, everything was priced 20-30% more for what you get. Given the competition for thai restaraunts, not sure I'd go back unless I was in the area. The flower dumplings were really small in size, maybe about half the volume of a traditional dumpling. (And seemed really over priced. Apparently they are hand made though) Panang curry sauce was good, it lacked in the spicy department, and the chicken was very rubbery. The coconut ice cream was the highlight of the meal. Service: One thing that stands out the most about Kin Dee is their excellent customer service, every staff we encountered while dining here is super welcoming, friendly and helpful. We celebrated my mom's birthday here, they brought the HBD sign for her along with a complimentary Thai tea crème brûlée, which was absolutely delicious and unique. Food: everything was great. -Thai flower dumplings: they are aesthetically pleasing, they taste sweet, I would actually recommend them for dessert. Money bag: the filling is made of ground chicken and shrimp, very juicy and meaty, outside skin is perfectly fried and crispy. Pad Thai, Kin Dee fried rice, stir-fried Thai basil chicken are all very tasty. *Note-they charge you extra for any meat, tofu, egg, or combination of meat added to those dishes. Parking is a little difficult around here, especially there's construction going on right now. We had to park on the street in the neighborhood. But there's valet parking available if needed. read more

Came for dinner right when it opened at 5 and the restaurant filled up pretty quickly. Our waiter was still attentive though and the food came out quickly. We got the Thai basil chicken, the Tom yum soup, and the pad see ew. The basil chicken was delicious and very spicy as requested, the Tom yum soup was really flavorful and not watery at all like some restaurants, and the pad see ew came in a massive portion with a good balance of flavors. Also a very family friendly restaurant since there's a different type of food for everyone, and almost every week they have a live performance by a musician which is always interesting. I had been looking forward to dining at Kin Dee before it even opened, so when opening day finally arrived, curiosity piqued, the restaurant met and exceeded all of my expectations. Typically, when dining at or ordering from Thai restaurants, I stick to my comfort zone of pad thai, curry or a soup, usually tom yum soup. However, at Kin Dee, my order consisted of the Miang Kham (mini salad wraps), which are served in four small glass containers, and Kuaytiaw Rua (boat noodle soup). The Miang Kham are royal leaves wrapped around a shrimp and pepper mixture. This is an appetizer not often seen on Thai menus in Houston. The savory soup broth of the Kuaytiaw Rua was one of the highlights of the meal. The chicken satay is also really good. From the Drinks menu, I ordered a Phuket, which is a beautiful, well presented rum-based cocktail served in a pineapple. It is made with mango, jasmine syrup and lime juice. But what really stood out for me re: is how great the service was at Kin Dee on the first day. Had a really good conversation with staff (and perhaps the owner) regarding the decor and how it was inspired by Bangkok, wild life (the elephants) and Thai culture. I definitely look forward to returning to this place which brings more culture to the Heights. read more

Some places have mastered the art of culinary destruction and Kin Dee is a prime example of that. Unfortunately, it's not alone in a sea of mediocrity. Kin Dee has garnered the hype thanks to the freeloading Instagram influencers who overhype the place in exchange for free food and drinks. Service was good without being overbearing. Live music also added a nice touch. Place has cozy ambiance. Now let's get to the food. Drunken noodles: whatever this was, it wasn't Pad Kee Mao. This was a bad joke on an otherwise amazing dish. It was a complete miss. It seemed to be missing key ingredients and looked more like Pad See Ew than Drunken Noodles. This dish had no soul. To anyone thinking of ordering drunken noodles at Kin Dee - Don't! Panang Curry: just looks wrong. To anyone thinking of ordering this or any other curry at Kin Dee - Don't! Drinks: look at the visually appealing pictures of the drinks on the menu and that should be it. Or stick to beers. If you like Thai food - you'll do yourself justice by not coming to Kin Dee. Go to either Street Food Thai Market or to Rim Tanon for far superior food. Or just get some frozen food from Trader Joe's or Costco and you'll still get better flavors. If you want to just enjoy the atmosphere, then perhaps you can waste your $$$ and time at Kin Dee. read more

I had a very good experience coming out for dinner with a friend. Our wait staff Ebenezer, was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful regarding the menu choices, and provided excellent customer service. The facility is super clean. I made reservations for 5p, and for most of the time we had the place to ourselves. Drinks The Mango Mai Tai was delicious!!! Served in a large wine glass. A little pricey for the volume. The Phuket comes in a glass or pineapple. Of course I went for the pineapple. Also delicious but extremely low volume for the price. Overall drinks were very good, but extremely overpriced. A happy hour, and an increase in volume would be quite beneficial. Appetizers The Flower Dumplings were not only beautiful, but delicious. Highly recommend those. The Din Dins We ordered the lump crab meat friend rice in lieu of another appetizer. This was okay. The flavorel was fried rice with some crab in it, versus crab flavored rice. It was over priced for what it was. Had the flavors been reversed I might rate it differently. The slow cooked duck breast noodle soup was okay. The duck was a bit try for being slow roasted and in soup. The broth had good but low impact flavor. Had the egg been soft boiled, it may have helped too. Not bad, but not amazing enough to get again. Looks fantastic on pictures though. The drunken noodles, LOVED! Along with the flower dumplings, these were well worth it. I went with the combo that included chicken and shrimp, at a spice level of 4 of 5. It had heat. If you liked spiced, go with 3 or lower. If you want sustained heat, go with 4. If you like fire, hit the 5. Dessert Mango Sticky Rice, nothing amazing here. I'm also not a huge dessert fiend, unless it's something I've been wanting. I'd rather have a bigger meal and skimp on the sweets, with certain exceptions. My companion chose this one, I'd give the roast a try next time. Overall, a good meal but not great. Most of it was okay, making the price a bit high for what we got. The service was top notch. The place looked great. A happy hour would be good here if they had one. If the drinks were bigger, and the other flavors were a bit more impactful, the price point would be worthwhile. Not quite there. But still a good time out. Have to try it to know. read more
