Booked this hotel via AMEX. The staff reached out to me to see if I would be in Seattle for a special occasion a couple weeks prior to my arrival. I let them know it was a pre valentines vacation, one weekend before the 14th. They said they would note that. Upon my arrival at the front desk I was greeted with a smile by a nice younger lady who allowed us to check in early which was wonderful, I never expected that. But before heading up to our room she also mentioned that we would be getting something special brought up to our room. We settled down and headed to the cold windy city to explore for a couple hours. When we got back to our room we had a nice note written with some goodies left for us. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. This is a good hotel in Seattle. Rooms are very comftorable and it's walking distance from all the main attractions downtown-pikes place, space needle, museums, aquarium, etc. The gym is small but was mostly empty and had everything I needed. Lobby is beautiful, nice place to sit and relax. People are friendly who work here. We got free tickets to the art museum and a 10$ food voucher each day. The restaurant is spacious and very pretty. I went one more for breakfast and just grabbed some yogurt. It was good. Valet is pretty expensive 75$ a day but you can take your car in and out no charge. We had a recent stay in Seattle with our two young kids and dogs. It's nice to find a location in downtown that is family friendly as well as dog friendly. Valet was super helpful and friendly. We loved the walkability to the waterfront. Staff was always kind and inviting whenever we had questions or needed help with something. Our room was big and fit all of us perfectly with lots of room to spare. I loved the nice robes and thoughtful yoga mat provided during our stay. One of the best hotels I have ever stayed, even if it was under rennovation during my stay. Both the room and service were extraordinary. First, the room was very quiet -- good sound proof so that I did not hear the construction or vehicles on the road at all, and the air conditioner/heater and fridge operated quitely. Second, some designs in the room made my stay convenient. For example, the hooks in restroom could change directions, so that I was able to hang several clothes and the towel in the same time. Third, I really like the design of my room -- simple but artistic. For example, the lights had elegant shapes, and the hooks near the entrace looked like small birds. Last but not least, the staff who did daily room service paid attention to every details. For example, she helped me fold the clothes and classified them according to usage (sports/daily use/sleeping). She also noticed the side of bed I slept, and put my sleeping T-shirt at that part and put the extra pillows on the other side. These details really made my stay convenient and relaxing! PS: After I expressed my satisfaction of stay to the front desk at check out, he generously gave me a ticket to the art museum nearby! read more

Loved our stay while in town for 3 nights, they were helpful when needing tips. The only parking offered is valet which is $75 but you are able to come in and out. They also have complimentary tickets to either the sky view, museum or cruise tour. Their staff was friendly and helpful. The TV is not a smart TV therefore plan accordingly. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my stay at the Seattle Monaco Kimpton. This is *not* the level of quality I expect from a Kimpton property. The hotel feels incredibly outdated, and the room was in awful condition. Upon arrival, I found a bug floating in the water jug in the lobby provided to customers, which was just the start of the issues. The walls and curtains had stains, and there were red boogers on the shower curtain. The bathroom grout was covered in mold, which was beyond disgusting. The TV was old and couldn't connect to Netflix or AirPlay, making it essentially useless for modern needs. The closet door was chipped, and the bed frame was chipped too--honestly, I lost count of how many things in the room were damaged or worn out. It felt like a cheap inn, not a Kimpton hotel. There was also renovations that wasn't told to us during the time we booked and starting from 9AM it was nonstop banging. Fortunately, we were able to switch rooms, but not without one of the front office staff flipping out on us. To be noted everyone else was fine except for her. This was a far cry from the clean, well-maintained experience I've had at other Kimpton locations. I will not be staying here again. Not your typical amazing Kimpton experience unfortunately. The construction was annoying, but could be overlooked. Aside from the fact that we were told it would be finished a week before our stay (now another month or two, but things happen.) Main gripes are the suite storage options (3 drawers next to the mini fridge for a family of 4 to store a week's worth of clothing), and just a general underwhelm about everything else. Rooms don't feel as unique or as special as other Kimpton's, staff doesn't feel as attentive (with a couple of exceptions for a few people who clearly embody the Kimpton vibe.) This hotel was really wonderful. Seattle is pricey. Period. Parking is outrageous wherever you go downtown, but this hotel has valet parking and any way you slice it, it's going to be the MOST convenient. You'll pay one price (that sounds expensive, I know) but you can go in and out of the garage as many times as you like during the day. The staff is EXCELLENT. Very accommodating and professional. Super friendly and welcoming from check-in to check-out. We have stayed here now twice and each time, they are flawless. The hotel restaurant is also excellent. Many times, you'll go to a hotel restaurant and they are sub-par, but not here. This restaurant's service and food were absolutely wonderful. Check them out. The rooms were a bit on the small side but they have everything you need, plus extra amenities you won't find anywhere else. And very clean. Really disappointed with this stay... especially for how expensive it was. We usually stay at Kimptons and have great experiences, but this one completely missed the mark. They overcharged us $120 for parking and never sent a receipt. Had to chase them down with multiple emails (no response), then finally call. Mistakes happen and we eventually got this money back, but this was just the beginning. The room and lobby had zero ambiance. It looked unfinished and bland. A basic Marriott has more personality. If you're mid-renovation, don't charge full price like it's a luxury stay. The light sensors were maddening. The bathroom lights would turn off every 45 seconds (almost impossible trying to take a shower having to stop every 45 seconds to get out and wave around to activate the light again), and the hallway light sensor would turn on during the night when we moved over in bed. Sleep?? Not happening lol. The valet situation was unprofessional at best. No one greeted us. No help unloading. We stood there while the staff chatted. Brought this up to the front desk and they offered free breakfast... which we couldn't use because of an early departure. Ughhh Overall, not worth the money or the hassle. Won't be back!! And will take hesitation if we book at Kimptons in the future. read more

The hotel is well situated for going to the symphony which is why I chose it. It's also walking distance to the art museum, Ivar's, and Pike Place Market. However, I felt misled by the room description. The room I reserved was listed as a King Premium Seattle View. When I got to my room, the window looked out at a gray wall with vents in it. I questioned the front desk and they told me that is the correct room. The explanation was that there are no rooms with a view because of the building's location. If that's the case, then I suggest they change the wording on their website to Standard King so one never expects a view. The other thing that was off putting was the $25 resort fee that other reviewers have complained about. It was never explained to me that I could use the money in the hotel restaurant or for snacks in the little snack bar located in the lobby until I was checking out. If I had known earlier, I would definitely have taken advantage and bought myself one of the yummy sounding but incredibly expensive milkshakes I saw advertised there. I was charged for two nights when I did not stay for nights. I was told they charged me for two cars. Again wrong I didn't have two cars. So I am taking away a star for that. My stay at the Kimpton could've been better. Prior to arrival, my job booked a High Level Room at a particular rate about 2 months before. We flew in from the East Coast and arrived close to 11 PM. I even got a text earlier that day advising my room is ready. As I walked into the hotel I caught the front desk agents vibe already. The front desk agent seemed annoyed that I distracted her from her book. No smile, no greeting, no nothing. She began checking me in and assumed my co-worker was my romantic partner. She then wrote my room # down for the 3rd floor. My coworker checks in and she gives him a room on the 11th floor. Why does he get a high level room and my room is on the 3rd floor even though I checked in first? I tell her my job booked a high level room and I could tell she cracked a little as I wanted to challenge this. She then says some randomness which I believe is total BS about she provided a complimentary upgrade. She never mentioned this prior and I believe only said this as a line began to form and wanted to toss the blame on me. I exchanged a few word about my stay previously at the W and she began saying views in Seattle are not that good the higher you go. Completely pointless and just poor service. She checks me into a room on the 7th floor and I just take it. I'm still concerned why I was given 3, and my coworker 11 if I checked in first and our reservations were identical. After this experience I noticed a trend. Service at this hotel seems rather bad! Anytime I went into the lobby I wasn't even greeted with a smile or any words. This could be a Seattle thing but I will tell you, poor service was definitely given during my stay!! The room was rather spacious but not quite my style. I'm still appreciative but the décor is a mixture of Vera Bradley meets your grandmothers furniture with flares of modern. I say that not to be funny.... The bedroom also had 2 lights out with broken handles. Would I stay here again. NO! I'd choose the W again or hearing from other colleagues the Olympic Hotel. On a weekend getaway to Seattle, my husband and I stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco. The location was great as it was walking distance to most of the things that we wanted to do. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating - we arrived very early in the morning, but could not check in until early afternoon and they were more than happy to hold our bags for us while we went out and explored. Additionally, they made sure to give us a phone call as soon as our room was ready, which ended up being almost 2 hours earlier than our scheduled check in time. We appreciated their consideration and willing to work with us. The room itself was clean and spacious, and the bed was comfortable. Great hotel! I stayed for two separate weeks in two different rooms and had a great experience both times! Love that it's so dog friendly and there's no fee! They even have a gated area with a code behind the hotel to let your dog out in a safe environment with artificial turf, a gravel area, wooden platform with chairs, and umbrella covered doggy bag and trash bin area. Service here is great! Everyone is friendly and accommodating. Love their complimentary morning coffee and good quality tea bags/station, evening wine hour, and water bottles at the front desk. They also can microwave something for you if needed. The room itself has just a mini fridge. There is a nice gym, free pinball arcade machines, and valet. If you enjoy the kimpton hotels I think you'll enjoy this one! read more

Was a fan of Kimpton hotels before pandemic. Liked the restaurants typically, staff was usually a little better trained and helpful and rooms were usually a bit nice than your average Hilton or Marriott. And they had great coffee service in the morning. My business is early starts. Most important thing is a cup of coffee. Both days at this location no coffee at 5:30 or 6:00am. Time to shake off the pandemic excuses and brew some beans! Today at checkout, the front desk person was sleeping. We had a lot of equipment and my colleague had to go in, load the cart and take care of it herself. We waited as long as we could and had no one to get our bill ao left without it. Room was nice and clean as expected. Restaurant looked like ok place to get a drink. Lobby me as well appointed and comfortable. Kimpton needs to get their groove back. Staff: This was my first time in Seattle and I stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Monaco for a month. This hotel is really nice, but the staff is what makes it great. Caelan is wonderful and had great recommendations for restaurants and local activities. Lucy and Saffron are always so cheerful and helpful. Chandler and Jesus are wonderful. The cleaning staff are on top of everything, clean sheets and towels every day, made the bed every day, as well as two bottles of water every day. I have only requested a couple times that the room be vacuumed (again, due to the length of my stay). Room: I travel a lot for work and generally don't sleep well in hotels. I have found that not to be the case here. I slept very well! The room (king) is spacious, clean, and comfortable. Location: The location is great and central to major tourist spots and attractions. Negatives: The only negative comments I have are not staff-related. This hotel is currently under construction/renovation, so it's very noisy during the day. The showerheads are very outdated, I would have expected a showerhead with an additional arm extension. The headboard is scratched in multiple places, a detail I would have expected the hotel to replace. There are no laundry facilities on-site (washers/dryers, coin/card operated), only the valet laundry option. This might be a hotel that typically caters to short-term stays, but I stayed here for a month, and on-site laundry would have been a very convenient feature. I have had to send my laundry out through an additional service. There is no microwave or coffeemaker in the room; both have to be requested through the front desk. There is a $100 incidental fee/hold that is charged daily (ended up being $3000 for my stay, which I thought was excessive). There have been multiple nights without hot water due to construction/renovation. They let me know in advance, but still inconvenient if you shower at night. Also, I've found the water doesn't ever get very hot, even at the maximum temperature. It's just warm. The hotel is on a main street, which is super convenient, but you also hear traffic all night (fire trucks, ambulances, etc.). You may want a white noise machine/playlist if that type of noise tends to keep you awake. There is no continental-style breakfast offered, which would have been another nice feature. Valet/Parking: I don't have any comments on valet/parking, as I didn't have a car during my stay. The staff are wonderful, which makes the whole visit worth it. The Hotel Monaco in Seattle is a great property in a fantastic location. The rooms are beautiful and well appointed. The staff is very friendly. During a recent stay in June 2025, I also dined at the revamped restaurant, Marin, and had an excellent meal. Executive Chef Robin Posey's menu, and the awesome servers, hooked me into definitely returning again the next time I'm in Seattle. Huge disappointment. Previously stayed at gorgeous Klimpton hotels in Los Angeles. The amenities list on the website is full of lies, no minibar, no chair dryer, no coffee maker or bathtub. TV remote is impossible to navigate. Went for a pre surgery overnight. Asked for fruit juice and a few other small items, 2-1/2 hours and 3 phone calls later . . . lobby under construction. No bathroom on main floor, no ice machine on most floors, no seating in the Lower Level lobby even though there is space. dark dreary colors, all gray and black. Called the hotel about a hour before our arrival to see if we'd be able to check in early (11am) and the staff was able to accommodate our early checkin despite it being pride weekend! Pros: Room was spacious and beds were comfortable. Staff was nice throughout our stay. There's also a peloton bike in the gym, but I never had a chance to use it. Close proximity to pike place and train station Cons: room didn't have full length mirrors, door chain/secondary lock, and only came with 2 towels even though our reservation listed 4 people. HIDDEN FEES. Ok, so there are always going to be extra taxes and fees than you expect. But in this case, a $300/nt rate ended up at $500/nt after taxes and fees. That just doesn't sound right. Worst was the $75/nt "resort fee." There is no resort!! No pool, no lounge. Typical hotel gym. PLUS, despite these fees, NO HOUSECLEANING. Part of the upside of any decent hotel is coming home to a room with a freshly made bed, fresh towels, etc. NOPE. Their only explanation is that they are short staffed due to the pandemic. Ok -- so hire more people! Or ... don't charge $500/nt!! Other reviewers mentioned the nice on-site restaurant. Well, that was closed off for a private event. Ok, that happens. But then the coffee urns were also empty. Two days in a row. I'll still give two stars, as the staff were decent (they seemed embarrassed and apologetic), and the location is convenient. We had 2 stays at this location within a month. The first one we got in earlier than planned and didn't call ahead for early check - in . " Caelan " did what he does well and got us a room. Later that afternoon, he saw me in the lobby and asked how things were and if I needed anything as far as restaurants, tourism ,attractions etc... . On my second stay I was helped by another clerk . Everything went smooth as expected. After a long day of exploring I came downstairs to visit the restaurant and just happen to see " Caelan " and he asked things were going and let him know if we needed anything. The hotel was good , the restaurant ( Outlier ) was good , all of the associates were good ( no issues at all ) but Caelan work ethic is why I will return. A building is a building . If they keep it clean , its a good purchase . Great customer service & clean building makes it a great purchase . Customer service is a priority to me . Great job Caelan !! read more

Came here for a mini vacation. Love staying at this boutique hotel! Close to nightlife and the public market. Loading and unloading is a little sketch at this location, you feel like your parking in traffic. Front desk and valet staff are friendly. Front desk is prompt, had to wait for a valet. Try to get parking included with your room, if not, you're paying tons. I got a room by the elevator and ice machine, it sucked! Check out was quick. Will definitely stay here again, but as far away from the elevator, as possible. read more

Hotel is nice, room was nice just definitely a smaller room which was fine for the night we were there and it had a desk for my husband to work from. No surprises as the room we booked online didn't make us think it would be enormous. We were never able to connect to internet and there was no coffee pot in our room, we had to call and have them bring one up. Location of the hotel was great since we had no car and were walking. If this is what a boutique hotel is I am not fan and won't stay at a Kimpton again, especially this one. However friendly and clean it was, for the price it was not worth it not to mention they charge a resort fee and for what I am not sure, they should pay us a resort fee for staying here and it not being a seamless stay. We got charged $25 for amenities yet no coffee in the room, wifi did not work and the room was super stuffy since no bathroom fan. Glad we paid $25 for nothing. Disappointment and average service. Had been wanting to come here for a staycation for awhile. So booked a king suite for a belated Valentine's Day this past Sunday for my wife and 8 month daughter. At $270 plus $50 valet this was a very disappointing experience. Especially since have had far superior stays at a better price point at many other Seattle hotels. I have no issue with a valet fee. But when I pull up and no one comes out, so I Sherpa the bags and baby. Then when checked out no one tells me the valet won't be there but have to hunt them down and learn keys were at front desk after searched for the valet for 5 minutes again towing bags and baby it is unclear if thee Monaco knows what valet means. The room was fairly nice and was spacious and liked the curtain to separate the living space from bedroom. But the bed wasn't comfortable and the bathroom was a standard tub with a poor shower head and a look dated back to the 80s. What was really annoying is they advertise their restaurant with room service every day till 10pm. But learned not on Sundays and when called room service reroute to front desk that was fairly rude and said "we don't have room service." When have an 8 month old this is frustrating since dining at restaurants often not a real option and when booked you said you did. I had to door dash valentines dessert. Would not be an issue if they noted this when referencing they have this service as an amenity. So look elsewhere:The Paramount is better location, has room service and better beds. The W and Thompson are far superior and sadly even the Grand Hyatt was a better stay and all well under the Monaco price point read more

Having had excellent experiences at Kimpton hotels in the past, we went out of our way to stay at the Monaco during a recent Seattle visit. Despite a couple of high points, the overall experience was somewhat lacking. The biggest thing I hope to find in a hotel room is comfy seating - I've never been able to use a hotel bed as a place to read or to watch TV. I was initially encouraged to see a stylish sofa in our room, but a lack of both lower back support and arms made this piece of furniture unusable. My only alternative was spending my waking hours for our 48 hour stay in the desk chair. Perhaps due to Covid, this is the only hotel I can recall without a coffee maker in the room. My wife checked the options in the lobby, and they did not have a decaf (doctor's orders) option there. Another missing item was a fridge. There was an empty minibar cabinet, possibly another victim of Covid. Before our visit, I knew that we'd be staying in a part of town that was uphill from the waterfront, but upon arrival discovered that the building behind the hotel is taller, so it appears that no rooms have any kind of view to the west. While making reservations, we were pleased to find out that there was a valet parking discount for hybrid vehicles. At checkout, they initially did not apply the discount, claiming it had not been logged correctly by the valet, who was standing nearby and was unhappy to be used as a scapegoat.
