    Popcorn Chicken (Soy Garlic)

I recommend getting the popcorn chicken. I'm a big fan of Korean fried chicken, however I do like boneless wings more. The popcorn chicken is perfect for it - bite sized pieces, perfectly fried with enough crunchy skin you're looking for, with great taste from the chicken still. It's easy to eat, and is the perfect size. Whether you order in person or get carry out, it's one of my favorites in the area. The portions are very well priced for the amount of food you get. I like getting a side of rice to get with the popcorn chicken. Helps balance the flavors without it being too heavy.

Smaller storefront than their other location in Troy. I ordered takeout and the cashier was SOOO nice. She's so sweet and polite. I got the spicy rice cake and it was pretty good. Fairly spicy. But the to-go container it came in is so prone to spillage since my dish was saucy. It leaked in the bag. Overall, still delicious.

I came here for a lunch stop while running errands in the area (it's located right across from Oakland Mall). It's small on the inside, and was fairly busy, but I was able walk right up to the counter and place my order. I didn't want a huge lunch, so I just opted for the potato dogs, because they come in a set of two. They were the perfect lunch for me! It's basically cheese on a stick, battered and potatoes added, and topped with sugar. Also, be sure to add the ketchup on top! It sounds like a weird combination, but it makes the dish complete. It got busier while I was eating inside, but the staff seemed to still get orders out on a timely manner. I definitely want to come back! The sassy fries, duk-bok-ki and bibimbap are next up on my to-try list!

Popcorn Chicken Box (with the Korean Sassy Sauce!)

I went there twice in two days, that is how much I enjoyed Kimchi Box! In a world of bland American fast food, Kimchi Box is a breath of fresh air. It is a small strip mall shop with some seating and self-serve water service. I ordered the Popcorn Chicken box with Korean Sassy sauce. The sauce was perfectly spicy, the salad had a delicious lightly creamy dressing, and the japchae noodles were a nice addition. Service was not friendly and had good recommendations. My only complaint was that the rice was a smidge bland. Add some of their excellent sauce choices to liven it up.

To start, the gentle person behind the counter was fabulous. They were very patient as we checked out the menu - which is a nice size, but not huge. The food itself. Oh man... SO delicious. I chose the chicken and avocado box. Scrumptious! Seriously! It was hot and fresh and had so much flavor. I ended up with leftovers, I also got the gyoza and that might have been why... and I ate those leftovers before the day was over. I highly recommend Kimchi box for anyone looking for some quality food with a great price and even better taste.

Jonesing for some Korean fried chicken? This is the place! Choice of sauces, all you want to drink, so good, and that thin and super crispy chicken. Wings here, meaty and tender. Went back again the same week, it was so good. Great not-too-spicy sauces for people like me with shamefully low heat tolerances. Also have those cool potato cube covered corn dog battered fried cheese sticks. So bad for you, but soooo yummy. Clean place, good counter service. Can't wait to go back and try more!

Very enjoyable. Fresh, hot and flawlessly fried and crispy. Pleasant staff, and done quickly. Do yourself a favor, this is crispy chicken, eat at the restaurant so it doesn't "de-crisp" by the tim you get it home.

My partner and I had to come to Madison Heights to pick up a laptop at Micro Center. It was later in the afternoon, so we knew we wanted to find someplace new to try. After searching Yelp for what was close by, and what looked like the most fun and unique menu (there was a tie, by the way, so we shall stop at the other place next time.) We didn't know what to expect when we got there (and there is quite little up the street) and were not sure if we were going to eat inside (so small) but we had spent over an hour driving to Micro Center from where we live that eating dinner in the car didn't seem like such a great time even though we have done it. We opted to go ahead and stay once we got inside as there was no one there. As we sat there eating our meal -- no one stayed. It was literally pick-up order all night. I am not sure why no one stayed inside to eat. The staff is super friendly and answered all of our questions after we told them it was our first time here. There were quite a few tables and despite how small the dining area is, it didn't feel stuffy. Maybe so had there been a lot of bodies in there. I will be honest, I picked this place strictly for the pics of the Moz Dogs other reviewers had posted. But there were so many other unique items that caught our attention we will have to come back and try another day. The Moz Dogs didn't disappoint. The ooey gooey cheese with what tasted a lot like elephant ear or funnel cake batter was amazing. Coated in sugar, because that is what we all need in life, right? It is a good thing we only got 2, one for each of us. You really don't need more than that. Also, try it with the ketchup. Sounds gross and I rolled my eyes at it, too. But, seriously, so glad I tried it. Sassy fries. Best name ever for a plate of cheese fries with some sassy mayo and cream sauce. It's a whole lot of flavor fireworks going off in your mouth. Trust me. You will want to try them. The spicy pork box has just the right amount of kick. I wish I would have added the side of Kimchi for the extra $1. That was the only thing I would change. I cannot speak for the Royal Bulgogi box as I didn't try any of his meal. But I have had plenty of bulgogi in life, so I know its amazing when done right. He was completely happy with his box and stated more than once it's something he'd like to have again. Perhaps we can find something a little closer to home until our next trip south. If you are thinking about giving this place a try -- just do it. The food is fun and it's always good to try something new once in a while.

This time we got the bibimbap, black goat soup, and a bone soup. We also got Jap Che for appetizer. Everything was satisfactory. Both the soups were piping hot. We got barley tea, which was complimentary. The service was below average. It was busy but our server never came back once to check on us. She also had a lousy attitude in terms of simple questions I asked about the menu and seemed annoyed. Ambiance was warm on a cold day and pretty packed with many customers ordering Korean barbecue.

We had fried Mandu for an appetizer- they were delicious and crispy. We picked Combination A- which had bulgogi, marinated short ribs, chicken, and shrimp. All the meat turned out so good and tender. We also got the steamed egg- would definitely recommend this as well. All the Banchan that came with the combination meal were delicious. And comes with purple rice- we got one extra bowl so we'd each have one as the combination plate comes with 2. This was a good amount of food for me, my husband, and child. My 4 year old was a big fan of the food too- and they gave her a cute pink plate to use so she loved that. Also tried the Bokbunja, Korean raspberry wine, and it was good! Moderately sweet berry flavor, more of a dessert-y wine, it was fun to try!

The service isn't bad, but I think the expectation is that you will let them know if you need something. They don't keep an eye on your water or drinks, but they were quick to fill them once we flagged them down. We tried some of our personal favorites and new things. They had a corn tea, which I never tried before. The flavor is hard to describe and a bit outside my preferences. It has a strong earthy corn taste. It was hot and came in a big pot. The banchan were awesome. I loved their kimchi, cucumbers, and fish cakes the most. They also had a seaweed salad and bean sprouts. We have tried sundubu jjigae with pork, kimchi fried rice, fried dumplings, japchae, and pajeon. I wouldn't get the sundubu again. There was something strongly overpowering the soup that was too intense for me and kind of bitter. Ive ordered this soup before at other locations, so I was surprised that it didn't suit my palate. The pajeon was huge. I prefer them thin, and this one was crazy thick. It was also overpowered with garlic, and I don't think those words have ever come out of my mouth before. What I would order again---japchae, kimchi fried rice, and dumplings! I love that they have so many options, and I had fun trying new things.

Service is a bit more hands-off, but I personally prefer that so it was a good experience in my book! One thing I must say is that I felt the menu was a bit limited. A lot of the menu consists of soup, which obviously isn't a bad thing (I personally LOVE soup), but my partner felt a bit of disinterest as he's not too keen on it. We opted for bbq and a shared entree (I can't recall the name, but it had pork belly and squid) instead. Both were tasty! The bbq also came with sides and two bowls of rice.
