This is a great Chinese restaurant for all those staples you expect. The first time I went here it was delicious and I really enjoyed the egg roll more than any other place I've ever been. I had gotten the lunch special of sweet and sour chicken. The last couple of times I wasn't as impressed. We love the crab rangoons and egg rolls. However the Mongolian beef and second time getting sweet and sour chicken (which we received orange chicken) were kind of flat. No flavor or just muddled plain flavor that wasn't exciting. We will probably give it another go trying to replicate that lunch order but we may go back to our old Chinese place. read more

Had this order delivered so in-seat service could be much better. Ordered Wonderful Honey Chicken, and an order of crab Rangoon. I've never had honey chicken that was essentially sweet and sour chicken doused in a dark brown sauce. I'm guessing it's a teriyaki sauce? Doesn't taste like Honey Chicken. The chicken is not to my liking. The crab Rangoon were mediocre. The rice actually had flavor. No points reduced for not including utensils as requested, but a bummer none the less. Decided to try Mui's since it's close to my new job and my coworkers highly recommended it. I got #23 lunch combo sesame chicken. The portions were big and the food was piping hot! My rule of them is if the egg roll is good, the food will also be good and it's never steered me wrong yet! . The egg roll was crispy and good flavor. The sesame chicken was amazing! Light crispy batter on the outside, hot juicy chicken inside! The sauce was the perfect amount of sweetness, not too sweet but just right . I was craving Chinese food for dinner tonight and decided to check this place out. I frequented the chicken shack and was always curious about this place. It looks like a hole-in-the-wall place, which in the past has been delicious finds for me. I went with the number 5 sweet and sour chicken with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. When I got home and started opening up my carry out and at first, I thought they forgot the sauce and was about to get upset but realized that they put it on the chicken. It was the right amount. They weren't the typical shape, they were more like crab pizza pockets. I really enjoyed the Rangoon. The General Tso's was good portions for the American Chinese take out. The chicken was good, tasted fresh, if that makes sense. The shrimp in the shrimp fried rice was small salad shrimp. The rice was good. Ordered sesame chicken combo, when I get to my office the sauce was every where. The chicken pieces were huge and there were barely any sesame seeds. The rice tasted very funny, but not good. I had the white rice. The egg roll was one of the worst egg rolls I had ever had. My friend ordered the egg soup and the hot and sour soup. She said it was terrible as well. I decided to try Mui's based on the fact that I was dying for some Chinese food. When I called to order, the person of the phone was nice, but I could tell she was busy. I am somewhat partially in what I ordered, so I was praying nothing was messed up- it wasn't. When arriving, I go in to pay, as usual, and you guys, this place was BUSY! You don't have a restaurant with not so stellar reviews, be as busy as this place. We ordered General Tso's combination, wonton soup, vegetable soup, and plain fried rice with sprouts and onion- no egg. The food was sooo good, and dare I say, better than our usual spot. I usually do Far East across the street (the two times I've done Chinese carryout since I moved to Troy, anyway), but wanted to try someplace new. I got the cashew chicken with wonton soup. Both were good and came with their (sweet bread, I guess?) and crispy wontons. Only thing I don't really like is that the sauce was a white sauce - is brown sauce with cashew chicken more of an American thing, I guess? I prefer it but haven't found it yet with takeout. I was a little leary to try this place after reading the reviews, but felt a little better once I arrived. A couple more customers came in while I was waiting for my order, a few called in for carryout, and they have a framed letter behind the counter referencing them as one of 2017's Best of the Best. They were good though, I'd order them again (and hope I don't get dumplings instead...lol). I won't order that again...it was a little salty, and there is shrimp and beef in the lobster sauce. Another reason for the 2 instead of the 3...who puts beef in shrimp with lobster sauce? This time I had the shrimp egg foo young and the dumplings/pot stickers (yes...I finally got them, no...I won't order them again). Our regular place has closed permanently in light of the pandemic, so we were in need of a new place. We had tried Mui's probably a decade ago and deemed it "serviceable," but decided to try it again over the weekend. Let me tell you...we are IMPRESSED. Firstly, they have reconfigured the restaurant with the utmost care regarding COVID-19. It's like a person-portal, with a plexi-glass window and small counter. It was pretty clever. They wiped my debit card, wore mask and gloves, had sanitizer on the counter. A+ for pandemic protocol. The food was great. We got dinner for two with almond chicken and sesame chicken. The food was fresh, HOT, crispy, tender and tasty. Also, their fried rice was the best we'd ever had - it had lots of chicken in it, bean sprouts, minced onions and egg. I am not your typical ABC girl, but their almond boneless chicken is incredible. Maybe its the MSG.... maybe its their light, fried rice that accompanies the crispy crispy breading encrusting juicy chicken and warm, smooth gravy... I don't know and I don't care. This place is always delicious. Mui's is hands down the best Chinese takeout in the area. Completely amazing every time. I opt for the spring rolls instead of the included egg roll, but both are very good. I usually get three meals out of one lunch combination. Their rolls are heavenly... soft yet dense, somewhat sweet and always perfect with butter, ready to dip in the ABC gravy. And they come with every combination. I have tried other options from there... The Emperor's Garlic Chicken is good, the Honey Chicken is pretty good too. General Tso's is excellent, but with all of these I would recommend getting the sauce on the side (I am not a big fan of soggy breaded chicken). We were able to comfortably make three meals for two from our $50 order.
