Lotus Pond has very quick service. The best item we've had from there is the egg foo young. Post covid their dining room has still not reopened. They've turned into a carry out location. Other items from here such as the orange chicken and sweet and sour chicken were okay. Not very flavorful but definitely okay. The fried rice is very firm and also not very flavorful. I got Lotus Pond since I heard from others that it was the "best" Chinese food in the area and I am on the prowl for a good Chinese restaurant. I ordered the Egg Roll, the Chicken Fried Rice and the Shrimp Lo Mein. The egg roll was really good actually and definitely worth the price. The shrimp lo mein was super saucy which is usually a good thing but this sauce was horrible. To make matters worse, the lo mein was mostly vegetables so I didn't even get much noodle which is the appeal of lo mein. I pretty much ate saucy vegetables and mushrooms. And the fried rice... was (and I am not being hyperbolic) the driest fried rice I have ever had. It tasted reheated and not moist at all. It also lacked flavor and the chicken inside tasted like cardboard. I only had a couple bites of both these dishes before putting it away. I technically paid $23 for an egg roll is how I view this meal. I hate that I have to give a negative review to a local place but I have to stay true to my integrity. read more

When I lived in Warren seven years ago, I always ordered the orange chicken combo. My husband enjoyed it too, but he got tired of it because I ordered it twice a week! It was that good! Now that I'm visiting Warren this week, I had to go to Lotus Pond to get my favorite dish--the orange chicken. And let me say, it's still as good as ever! Disappointing experience. I ordered via DoorDash. I chose the beef lomein. The menu clearly states that an egg roll and soup are included (either wonton or egg drop). I specified in the instruction section that I preferred wonton. I also added an extra egg roll to my order. Immediately after placing the order I received a notification that my order total had been updated. They charged me for the soup. So even though the menu states it came with it, apparently it did not. When my order arrived, it only came with 1 egg roll so apparently that didn't come with either even though it was stated that it did. Next up is the food. It wasn't good. The lomein was so over cooked that the vegetables in it were limp and soggy, the beef was dry and the noodles were so over cooked they were mushy. The egg roll was only ok. The only thing that was good was, ironically, the soup. Overall, I wouldn't order from here again, nor would I recommend it to others. read more

I love Chinese food and it's difficult to find a place that serves up something tasty. After a recommendation from a friend we decided to give Lotus Pond a whirl. The building was very nondescript, but the parking lot was pretty full, so that is always a good sign. Walking in it reminded me of my favorite Chinese restaurant I went to growing up. I always order Sweet & Sour Chicken as a baseline with any new Chinese place I visit. Theirs was pretty dang good! The fried rice, in my opinion, was better after adding a bit more soy sauce but overall tasty. With an entree you get a cup of soup (I ordered Wonton, really solid), a sweet roll, and cookies to round it all out. For the two of us, it ended up being around $20 and I left with 85% of my meal because of how big the portions were. This is my new Chinese spot! read more

Ordered this for lunch at work via DoorDash. Chinese takeout places are hit or miss, and this definitely fell in the latter. I didn't get my hopes up, but silly mistakes really made this experience worse. I ordered General Tso's Chicken (and it wasn't despite the fact they call it that) and there was an option to have it with a crispy batter, which I elected to do. I also got it with an egg roll and a cup of egg drop soup. The first issue I had was that they packed the chicken pieces into a tiny takeout box as opposed to putting it in a plastic container like so many places do now. This basically caused all the batter to get soggy, break off and become inedible. If that wasn't bad enough the sauce collected at the bottom and the top was too dry. They couldn't even be bothered to chop the green onions into smaller bite sized pieces. It's sad because the actual chicken prices were tender and flavorful. The egg drop soup was also a bland mush of cornstarch with no discernable taste. The egg roll was okay but you could tell it was probably frozen at one point. I really don't like writing bad reviews, but I can't excuse this. read more

20 plus years I've been ordering chinese from the fine folks here at Lotus Pond. We order a variety of menu items ranging from the sweet & sour chicken, almond boneless chicken, general tso chicken, and a few other dishes. Yes, I'm aware its mostly fried chicked with different sauces but the sauces, soups, eggrolls, bread, combos & consistency has been what sets them apart from your average around the corner chinese restaurant. I feel like the last time the Lotus Pond family went back to their homeland for their yearly month long vacation they sent someone else back to man the restaurant. All the sudden (past 3 or 4 visits) no one can properly answer the phone, the rice has been old, dry & looks like shit. They changed the recipe of the wonton soup, it now tastes like bean sprout broth & the dumplings are always blown out. They seam to forget something every visit, this time it was the won tons.... for the "Won Ton Soup", pretty frustrating when you live 5 plus miles away. The eggrolls are garbage now, we throw them away almost every time. The last time the four of us popped in we got stiffed when we asked for a 4th fortune cookie cause we only ordered 3 combos (kids split an adult order), come on. Not sure what the deal is but I hope they figure it before our next visit, would be a shame if it was one of our last. read more

I ordered the shrimp lo mein delivered. It arrived piping hot. It was a good portion - definitely at least two meals for me. It was loaded with big shrimp. The sauce was light and tasty. I always say that it is hard to find a good Chinese restaurant that is consistent. Lotus pond was recently recommended to me. The first time I ordered I did a delivery. I was surprised at how much food I received. I ordered the chicken and broccoli dish. Their chicken and broccoli uses a brown/oyster sauce instead of the white sauce I am used to. While, I really enjoy the other sauce on this dish, I still thought their's was pretty good. I got this same dish when I dined in and the meal was consistent with my last order. The interior is just like any other dine in Chinese restaurant that hasn't changed their look in years. My boyfriend enjoyed this as it reminded him of his favorite Chinese restaurant by where he grew up. I tried to egg drop soup this time and I thought it was great. We also got the wanton soup. It was SLIGHTLY under salted, but we would rather it be this way than too salty tasting. The egg rolls were pretty good and I really enjoyed the plum sauce. They also gave us the warm sweet bread, which I have not had in years. It was great and super carby. The other entree we ordered was the orange chicken. Very good dish overall. We thought the fried rice needed a tad more soy sauce, but still was really good. We noticed this place was really busy with carry-outs while we were there, so it obviously is doing something right. read more

Was disappointed in our order from Lotus Pond this weekend. We did DoorDash and everything on their end was great. However, the food was less than okay. My almond sauce for almond boneless chicken was basically yellow, thick, liquid corn starch. No flavor at all except for corn starch and there was thick balls of it mixed in. The eggrolls were tasteless and dry. My husbands pad Thai was made with plum sauce instead of the pad Thai sauce. Wonton soup was the only thing that was okay, however even that had very little flavor. This place used to be a go to for me about ten years ago and wanted to try it again with my husband.
