    Orange Chicken combo.
    Jennifer W.

When I lived in Warren seven years ago, I always ordered the orange chicken combo. My husband enjoyed it too, but he got tired of it because I ordered it twice a week! It was that good! Now that I'm visiting Warren this week, I had to go to Lotus Pond to get my favorite dish--the orange chicken. And let me say, it's still as good as ever! I can honestly say this is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the world. Better than Panda Express! 5/5 stars.

Beef lomein. It was so overcooked it was terrible.
    Eileen P.

Disappointing experience. I ordered via DoorDash. I chose the beef lomein. The menu clearly states that an egg roll and soup are included (either wonton or egg drop). I specified in the instruction section that I preferred wonton. I also added an extra egg roll to my order. Immediately after placing the order I received a notification that my order total had been updated. They charged me for the soup. So even though the menu states it came with it, apparently it did not. When my order arrived, it only came with 1 egg roll so apparently that didn't come with either even though it was stated that it did. Next up is the food. It wasn't good. The lomein was so over cooked that the vegetables in it were limp and soggy, the beef was dry and the noodles were so over cooked they were mushy. The egg roll was only ok. The only thing that was good was, ironically, the soup. Overall, I wouldn't order from here again, nor would I recommend it to others.

More half fried bread than chicken in the General Tso's Chicken Dinner...

Absolutely never getting take out from this restaurant again. I ordered General Tso's chicken. Pros +Prompt with the order +Egg roll was okay - More bread than chicken - The dish was lacking in sauce; some pieces of chicken were completely dry. -Wonton soup had no chicken

Sweet and Sour Chicken w/ Fried Rice

I love Chinese food and it's difficult to find a place that serves up something tasty. After a recommendation from a friend we decided to give Lotus Pond a whirl. The building was very nondescript, but the parking lot was pretty full, so that is always a good sign. Walking in it reminded me of my favorite Chinese restaurant I went to growing up. I always order Sweet & Sour Chicken as a baseline with any new Chinese place I visit. Theirs was pretty dang good! The fried rice, in my opinion, was better after adding a bit more soy sauce but overall tasty. With an entree you get a cup of soup (I ordered Wonton, really solid), a sweet roll, and cookies to round it all out. For the two of us, it ended up being around $20 and I left with 85% of my meal because of how big the portions were. This is my new Chinese spot!

    Very disappointing

Ordered this for lunch at work via DoorDash. Chinese takeout places are hit or miss, and this definitely fell in the latter. I didn't get my hopes up, but silly mistakes really made this experience worse. I ordered General Tso's Chicken (and it wasn't despite the fact they call it that) and there was an option to have it with a crispy batter, which I elected to do. I also got it with an egg roll and a cup of egg drop soup. The first issue I had was that they packed the chicken pieces into a tiny takeout box as opposed to putting it in a plastic container like so many places do now. This basically caused all the batter to get soggy, break off and become inedible. If that wasn't bad enough the sauce collected at the bottom and the top was too dry. They couldn't even be bothered to chop the green onions into smaller bite sized pieces. It's sad because the actual chicken prices were tender and flavorful. The egg drop soup was also a bland mush of cornstarch with no discernable taste. The egg roll was okay but you could tell it was probably frozen at one point. I really don't like writing bad reviews, but I can't excuse this.

One of my go-to restaurants for take-out. Good food for the price! Also, the serving size is great.

A "local favorite", for some unknown reason…read more 1) Tried to talk me out of ordering what i ordered, General Tsao's Tofu. "You sure you don't want chicken instead? Because for tofu we have to heat the oil in the fryer..." Like .... "Huh? What? Yeah, I'm sure." Honestly never had this experience before. I would think heating up the fryer is all in a day's work; and it was about 6 PM. No way was I the first person that day to order a fried dish. You don't wanna heat the fryer?! Nobody's forcing you to run this horrible restaurant! 2) General Tsao's has a lot of sauce. They packaged it in the cheap Styrofoam type of container. Of course I took precautions to have it not spill on the drive home. Of course it leaked all over, anyway. And I know they at least have the soup containers. They could have packaged the sauce separately. But no, too stingy. Literally did not want to spend an extra 25 cents to give a better customer experience. 3) The dish wasn't even what I ordered! It was Sweet and Sour, not General Tsao's. 4) It wasn't even good! 5) Before I served it, I rinsed off the container and everything else in the bag, so I didn't get sauce all over my self, my kitchen, my whole house honestly. Later when I went to eat the fortune cookies, one was soggy. So, there had been a hole in the wrapper before I even tried to open it. Great. I wonder what else is going on in their kitchen. Of course everything that enters the restaurant is brought in through the dirty alley... 6) ***NEXT DAY: DIARRHEA.*** ..........Thanks! 7) Much of this might have been avoided if they weren't still milking the whole "no dine-in", since COVID. I'm not about to turn around and go complain after I already drove home with the food. That's why they don't want you in the dining room. If nothing else, all the money they're saving, could go to buy the better containers. (I mean... they have a lot fewer dishes to wash, right? Assuming they even did that.) 8) What about explaining the problems with my meal over the phone, though? Well, first of all, I was hungry; I wanted to eat, not call Customer Service. But also, here's a scene from the "director's cut" version of the review... ;) While waiting for my food, I got to listen to the hostess talking on speakerphone to someone who was trying to order carry-out. She was trying to explain that if they came in to order, they would get more chicken, and fewer veggies. Seriously for 10 mins she's trying to explain it. Well, not really *explain*; more like she was just saying it over and over. Honestly it sounded like somehow the chicken would magically turn into vegetables, if they placed their order over the phone, but that wouldn't happen if they came in to order the carry-out in person. (Don't ask. I don't get it either!!) Finally the caller just gave up, and said she'd come in. (WHY?!) When the hostess got off the phone, she explained to the people in the lobby "she no understand". By the looks exchanged among us customers, I'm pretty sure none of us understood, either. So, trying to explain my situation, over the phone, and having to deal w/ a comprehension and communication gap like that? *Don't forget they didn't even want to cook my food in the first place!* No, I think it would be healthier for me to just chug a whole bottle of MSG.

This usually includes appetizers and dessert. Instead, the luncheon consisted of 10 entrees served family style. We were cool with this, and saw it as a great opportunity to sample the vast menu. For beverages, we had green tea. While my husband and I couldn't sample every dish due to allergies, I would say we tried at least 6 of the dishes. Of those 6, I think there was only one we didn't particularly care for (the eggplant). All other dishes we tried were quite tasty, and the service was great. The teapots were quickly refilled, the food was delivered promptly, and the staff was very cordial and professional. For ambiance, the decor was a little outdated, but not shabby. Regardless, I am happy when places focus the attention on the quality of their food rather than on any fluff. There didn't seem to be a time limit for our party, and none of us felt rushed by the staff. We all felt relaxed enough to enjoy our meal and conversation. One thing I felt bad about is there were a lot of uneaten dishes. Even when shared among tables of 10, ten entrees is a lot to eat! And that was without rice! We were told by our table mates that the restaurant didn't offer takeaway for unfinished meals. That is a shame because that meant a lot of food was going to be wasted. An area of improvement I would suggest is to offer takeaways for uneaten portions, so as to reduce waste. I was going to suggest serving rice as well, but in all honesty we didn't miss it. My husband and I plan to return to Golden Harvest so that we can sample appetizers and explore the menu a little more, but until then I will give my luncheon experience 4 stars.

My favorite meal everytime I'm home. We always get the same dishes and they always hit!read more
