Kung Pao tofu and almond boneless chicken
    Bridget S.

We've heard rave reviews about this place. There's something about hearing a lot of folks speaking in a language that you don't understand that gives you the impression that the food is going to be good- and it was. While I am not a vegetarian, I appreciated the variety of tofu and fake chicken options. I had essentially kung pao tofu and liked it. My husband stayed more traditional American style Chinese with Almond boneless chicken and fried rice. We also had the pot stickers. I'd like to go back and try more authentic dishes but that tofu was really good.

Never disappointed when I come here and eat! Great for large groups and catering to a range of taste buds. Excellent authentic Chinese options here. The price is more than reasonable. Service is like traditional Chinese places - don't expect fine dining service level and be vocal about your needs. The menu may be overwhelming at glance but if you need help, the waitresses are more than happy to assist. Especially for veggies that are at peak seasonal quality. Personally I recommend to not miss out on the specials - they do not disappoint! I've heard from others that have picky kids, this is the place to take them too! - 清蒸豆腐鱼 Steamed Fish with Tofu - this one me and my bf INHALED with rice. It's dangerously delicious!! Even the kids love it! - Mongolian Beef with a request to some added broccoli - one of my new favorite ones. The sauce sinking into the broccoli and the onion. The super soft flavorful beef on top of rice. It's really an amazing combo. - 松鼠鱼 Squirrel Shaped Fish w. Sweet & Sour Sauce - this one is one of the chef's specialty so I would wait for particular chef is in-house to make it - StirFry Pea Shoots - I love this lighter green dish. Can't ever go wrong with this one. Restroom: Yes; they have for male and female. Ambiance: Chill, pleasant. Can get rowdy with a crowd! Parking: Plenty of parking, it's in a plaza!

Consistently good food. We come here for authentic Chinese food at a reasonable price and a reasonable quantity. You can't really go wrong with any of the dishes you order. We were happy with the quantity as well as the authenticity. The service was very average and the waitresses did not come back after serving us water and food the first time. In terms of the ambience, it was pretty crowded for a Saturday evening and there was quite a few Caucasian as well as Asian people dining. This means that they have catered well to both populations. I was surprised that there are quite a few tables that ordered more dishes than they could handle. Which is a good sign. Will be back for more if we crave Asian.

It lived up to the hyped expectations. Everyone in the family was happy with every dish. I do wish the Mongolian beef had less onions but other than that seriously everything was great. Everyone else in there was Asian too.

    21. Yibin Flame Noodles

Authentic Chinese (Szechuan) food is the best. This place is one of the few places of that category in the metro Detroit area but I am so glad to have found it. I have been looking for noodles like the Yibin fire noodles my whole life, they were amazing and perfect amount of heat and flavor. The potstickers were awesome as well 10/10 for both.

Great Sichuan cuisine here including spicy cold noodles and fried fish with chili flavoring. They also have the Walovi herbal drink in a can and Diet Coke as well. Service very accommodating, prompt and attentive, and the interior atmosphere is rather spacious, with plenty of tables and chairs. Recommended!

Everything beside the cold appetizer were not good. Crispy squid, the batter is too hard and dry. I don't know how they make it like that. Probably frozen then dump it in the fryer. They do not know how to fry things here. Cumin beef the seasoning wasn't cook all the way through. I think they sprinkle 5 spice powder at the end and therefore you will taste raw seasoning. Service is pretty quick and they check on you but the food is meh. You really have to pick the ones that they have experience in the menu otherwise you will end up wasting some money

My toddler children are super picky eaters. But one thing they'll never refuse is the lo mein. It has to be only from Trizest too! We have to buy two orders of it. I think they love the texture and flavor. We've tried other places and they don't like it. We usually order the salt and pepper shrimp, sichuan green beans with pork, and sometimes the general tso chicken. The chicken can be a hit or sometimes sometimes it's dry - but yesterday was really good crispy on the outside and they're on the end. The green beans are always on point no matter what the shrimp flavor is the shrimp sometimes it's a little softer than expected, but it's still good. We wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who wants to try good Chinese. If you choose to sit inside, it's spacious and sorta has been updated. Good for a casual meal and good for groups as they have large tables.

Salt-and-pepper squid on a bed of shredded lettuce.

Between the ongoing road construction and power outages in the area, I hesitated to drive the long distance to Sterling Heights for lunch. However, I was in the mood for Chinese food, and according to Yelpers, this was the place to be. Tucked into a run-down strip mall, I found it difficult to locate this place. Compared to the photos that I reviewed, the restaurant seemed like it underwent a renovation. Gone are the old carpeting and boldly painted columns. When I entered at lunch, there were a few tables occupied, but soon afterward, the restaurant was buzzing. I had already reviewed the vast menu online and the photos on Google and Yelp, so I knew what I was ordering: salt and pepper squid, double-flavored squirrel-shaped fish, and orange beef. The salt and pepper squid was deep-fried and served with peppers on a bed of lettuce. I enjoyed the lightly coated, lightly seasoned squid and the refreshing bites of fresh lettuce. The squirrel-shaped fish filet, cut to resemble a squirrel's tail, is deep-fried and served with both sweet and sour and savory sauces. I rarely see this on the menu, so I had to have it. The orange beef was flavorful and fantastic. All portions were large, reasonably priced, and well-seasoned. While a number of the dishes had fire icons next to them, none of them were overly spicy. Or maybe the server could tell that I am a spice lightweight. The server was super friendly. I appreciated how she managed all the needs of the various tables. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly the meals were prepared.

I don't understand any of the bad reviews. I have been craving this salt and pepper squid on a daily basis. Is it a little expensive? Yep. But is it totally worth it? Yep yep yep! I am an incredibly picky person and if something is under seasoned or not cooked perfectly I will definitely let them know, but this is addictive. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, can't say I've even tried anything else, but this salt and pepper squid will keep me a Trizest customer for the rest of my life.

    Mapo Tofu w. Ground Pork

We finally had the chance to try Trizest after receiving a recommendation from a friend. There aren't a whole ton of authentic family style Chinese restaurants in Metro Detroit, especially ones that specialize in Sichuan cuisine. We stopped by for a weekend lunch and Trizest wasn't particularly full - maybe only like 2 or 3 other parties. We ordered a couple of dishes: Sichuan Style Green Bean w. Ground Pork ($14.99) - These green beans had good blistered skin with the insides still al dente. These were mixed with tiny green onion pieces and small amounts of meat that's almost of a dehydrated texture. There's a bit of spice from pepper seeds. Mapo Tofu w. Ground Pork ($14.99) - I thought this dish had a bit of a one note flavor of chili oil. There was only the tiniest hint of mala and the black bean sauce didn't contribute much. There's a bit of ginger and garlic mixed in as well and a very small amount of ground pork to round things out. Overall almost a little too bland for a mapo tofu. Maybe undersalted as well? I think they rely a little too much on the chili oil and not layering the spices as appropriate. Squirrel Shaped Fish w. Sweet & Sour Sauce ($19.99) - This fish had great tenderness on the interior with a light exterior crisp. This was served in a very viscous, cornstarch thickened, sweet and sour sauce. It's much less red than I'm used to seeing in this dish. There was quite a bit of ginger added and the taste was very apparent, perhaps even a bit overwhelming at times. Spicy Cumin Beef ($20.99) - This dish smelled the best coming out with a super nice fragrance of cumin and spice. The beef is wok fried, with nice texture more on the dryish side, and a good exterior. There's some ginger flavor and a ton of green onion and chili peppers mixed in. This was the spiciest dish on the table by far - the only one that got me sweating a little. The restaurant has a mandatory 20% service charge and this information is not given in the menu which is kind of skeezy. We only saw on the receipt when the bill came back. Our party was only 4 people which usually doesn't trigger this charge at most restaurants. Trizest is one of the only Sichuan cuisine restaurants in Metro-Detroit, so it's always nice to see one. While the food isn't the best I've had in this cuisine, it's enough to satisfy.

I've been to trizest many times, and it does not disappoint. I just found out about this place a couple months ago and I've been here already a few times. If you love spicy food, this is the place for you. The service is so kind. There are two employees that we always see when coming here, and they are always so nice and helpful. The food comes out so quick too and so fresh! The food comes out family style and the portions are excellent. We always have food to take home. The environment is quiet and never too busy when we come in. This restaurant is very different from the traditional Chinese restaurants. It has an authentic Sichuan style! My husband and I love coming here. Again, if you love spicy foods as well this is the place! The popcorn chicken is one of their popular foods and it's delicious! We haven't tried anything we didn't like yet!
