Amazing choices! The portions are solid. The pricing is respectable, could be a little more friendly in some of the choices. The service was busy and direct, which we liked for take out. The only knock was the tofu was so water logged. They didn't dry it before they fried it. Big bummer, but there are more vegetarian options on the menu. read more

Pricing went up and the quality of the food went way down. The kung pao chicken isn't even kung pao, it was mostly celery with baby corn, no spice or that distinct kung pao flavor, just a salty sauce with no flavor. The fried dumpling aren't what they used to be, they're not the crispy bottom dumpling you get at authentic Chinese restaurants, they're very thick and the inside is bland. The egg rolls we got they went into the trash, absolutely no spices or even salt added to the filling. The lady that takes your order is pretty rude, I tried explaining to her that the online prices are way lower then what she tells me but I guess she doesn't really understand English well because she kept saying that I'm not looking on their website...she charged us $8 more then the prices they have listed online. Good comfort Chinese food, decent portions. Ratio of meat to vegetables in both the chicken lo mein and pepper steak dishes was just right. Sweet and sour shrimp - puffed up breading on the shrimp which is what I like, sweet and sour sauce was ok. I prefer their sweet and sour sauce from the egg rolls to put on the shrimp. Egg rolls taste like most other local carryout Chinese restaurants with the season bean sprouts and cabbage, the distinction which made these better is that these were fried upon order vs other takeout places that fry their egg rolls ahead of time and let them sit until they are purchased. The food was good enough that I would reorder everything again. Orders come out quick - I placed my order in person and it was done in 15 min during a very busy dinner period for them. read more

Love this place! Highly recommend giving it a try, most people do take out, but we live quite a ways away so always eat in. We all love their egg rolls Mongolian beef and Mongolian chicken! But we have tried many things and never been disappointed. Located in a strip mall and they are very busy with takeout orders. Amazingly delicious a must try! I have been on a hunt to find a good Chinese place in Shelby Township, and I have finally found it. I feel like so many Chinese places get high ratings solely because of the portion of food they give you. What's good about Chinatown is it's a normal sized portion and it's actually freaking good. I am a die hard 'Orient Express' fan but on Christmas Day, China Town was my closet local Chinese restaurant that was in operation and it would have to suffice. Nothing stellar, nothing awful. The General Tso moonlighted as Orange Chicken with pepper flakes; Sweet n sour chicken was quite soggy; Pepper Steak was the star, being very tender and most flavorful; Chicken Pad Thai was tasty enough; Vegetable Lo Mein, although untouched by myself (due to mushrooms), others stated that it was pretty appetizing. I heard they had scallops and I actually didn't believe it so I went back. Truth be told, they do not have scallops! If they actually served 'genuine scallops' with 12 pieces it would cost $20-30 just for the product, not including restaurant mark up. They are serving Surimi which is a paste made from various fish and meat ground into a gelatinous product which is cut into cylinder shapes. And they should advertise as such, but people in Michigan are pretty gullible from my experience. Anything outside their normal diet of Italian, Polish and Middle Eastern goes unnoticed. They taste good! If we only knew what the ingredients were, Pollack, shark, cuttlefish? It makes a difference if you're watching your mercury intake. Other than that, everything else is delicious! Szechuan and Hunan can be made spicy, all vegetables are fresh and crisp. A little heavy on the sugar syrup which makes it classiclly 'AMERICANIZED'. read more

Since moving to the Metro Detroit area, I've looked for a really good Americanized Chinese place. China Town is probably the best I've found that fits into this category. It's solid guilty pleasure American "Chinese", with all your expected dishes. Unfortunately for me it's too far from me, a friend and I get take out when I'm visiting her, this is her go to spot. I think that what China Town does well is that they do use a good amount of fresh veggies, and do not over cook them. My friend and I split the beef with mushrooms, chicken and broccoli, and egg drop soup. I'm not sure why they only identified one veg for each dish as they each have plenty of other vegetables mixed in. The one spot that is not impressive is their egg rolls. I'm not sure what it is about Metro Detroit Chinese, all the egg rolls taste the same wherever you go, a slight variation between terrible and edible. Is there one company that provides frozen ones to all the restaurants in the area? I've only done take out here, and it seems like basically a take out place. Worth checking out if you are like me and have been searching for a solid place. read more

I remember going to this restaurant a few years ago on a Christmas Day when I flew home from a vacation and nothing else was open. So this year I went on Labor Day in the evening when everything else had closed down and this was the only place open other than bars. The restaurant was really busy between the seats being full and nonstop phone ringing for carry out orders. Considering all that was going on, the service was actually pretty good and the food came out fairly quickly. I ordered the chicken pad Thai which is traditionally a dish you would order at a Thai restaurant but it actually was very tasty. I asked for it to be medium spiced and to me it was a little bit mild so I think if I go there next time I would order it spicier. Normally when I go to a Thai restaurant if I say medium spice it ends up being very spicy. My friend ordered the sweet-and-sour chicken and it was very tasty according to him. This is a fairly small restaurant in a strip mall on 26 mile road so there aren't many seats but they seem to do a large carry out business. read more

We were visiting relatives in the area and decided to pick up some take out. Had some difficulty getting phone call through then immediately put on hold and rushed through ordering process. They got a little curt with me when they repeated the order back to me incorrectly and I had to correct it. The food was ready and waiting at the given time, but apparently had been waiting for a few minutes, as the fried items had cooled and were no longer crispy. This used to be my go to spot for Chinese but I moved to Omaha and came back and I think it must be under new ownership or something as all of the dishes have changed. I ordered chicken fried rice and fried dumplings and the dumplings were different and the fried rice was so bland. It was basically rice some chicken and bean sprouts. My boyfriend and I stopped in here last night after I have been craving Chinese food for about a week (I mean who doesn't always crave it?) For a Sunday evening the place was quite busy. There were several people ahead of us waiting for their to-go orders and several people came in while we waited for ours. This place must be tasty then! And it certainly was! My boyfriend ordered the Szechuan chicken, while I opted for the sesame chicken. Both dishes came with pork fried rice and an egg roll. Amazing delicious food! The portions were huge and everything was made fresh. Huge pieces of chicken in both dishes and love the fresh veggies. While my boyfriend was eating his meal he was listing all the veggies he kept finding. I lost track of all of them but was so amazed at how many there was. The only thing I would say negatively was that our dishes could be a little spicier but we know for next time. Definitely didn't stop us from devouring our meals. The fried rice was made with pork and tender. Definitely not overdone and nearly black like some other places I've had. The egg rolls are huge, crisp and very fresh. Best part is that they are made with chicken so everyone with shellfish allergies can enjoy them. For $17 we got enough food for at least three meals. I love this place! My sister recommended I try this place and it did not disappoint! My boyfriend and I actually go out of our way to get take out from here (even though there's probably about 20 other Chinese restaurants closer to our house!) That itself says how good their food is! We've been here a few times now and we cannot complain. Our usual order is the chicken pad thai, sesame chicken combo, and an order of the crab rangoon. Everything is reasonably priced and it's about $20 in total, which is a STEAL considering we have meals for the next 3 days -- always! The sesame chicken has never been too chewy and never too boring. The sauce isn't too spicy, although I'm sure you can get it spicier if you'd like. The rice is SO GOOD! I could eat it all the time. The pad thai is a bit spicier but still amazing! The sauce for the rangoon's is sweet. We live in Sterling Heights so it takes us about 20 minutes to get back home. We got carry out here for my birthday dinner. The food was so fresh and tasted great. It wasn't greasy like some other Chinese food I have had. You can tell they use fresh vegetables.
