My family has ordered from New China Gourmet for almost 20 years and it has never disappointed. The owners have always been so friendly and really take pride in serving the best quality Chinese food in the area with generous portions and reasonable prices. The vegetable fried rice and almond boneless chicken are my go-to entrees and the crab Rangoon are my ABSOLUTE favorite.. I am a crab Rangoon snob so I don't say that lightly. They stopped doing dine-in service after Covid and are only carry out, but the space is very organized for to go orders and the kitchen alway looks to be kept clean, even during a rush. We recently ordered for Christmas Day, which has become a tradition for us! We ordered our food around 2 PM to have it ready for 4 PM because you definitely want to order ahead on those expected high volume holidays. The timing worked out perfectly and our order was hot, ready on time and absolutely delicious! This time I tried shrimp and broccoli for the first time and was a little surprised when the sauce was a clear, whitish color with more cabbage/onions than broccoli. I had seen a picture online that showed it to be a brownish sauce and just broccoli. It's possible that the review I saw was a special order, and I would've preferred the darker sauce but overall it was still a yummy dish! read more

Located at 23 Mile/Card this is an easy location to get in and out quickly. I really like the portion size (not 5 lbs of rice like everyone else), and the food was good. I ordered vegetarian Pad Thai. I asked if they could add Chicken because I really wanted a lot of vegetables for which they charged me more. The noodles were mush, there weren't that many vegetables, and the quality of the chicken was not so great. At a small portion of it and the rest went in the garbage. The food here was OK. It wasn't great and it definitely wasn't bad. We tried a few dishes chicken dishes. They all had good flavor and were not overly greasy like considering the chicken was fried. Great service for how small and intimate the place is. I usually call to order for pickup, and receive great service on the phone. Very polite and kind people. The wait time is always fast and the food is fresh. For Chinese food in a place like Macomb, this restaurant is great. I am never disappointed when I go here. Price is reasonable, authentic Chinese food. The food taste great just as they advertised. We like the sweet n sour chicken and the house special lo mien. The rice is of high quality and also delicious. I haven't tried all the menu yet but so far it's been great. The only thing I don't like is one with beef, kinda chewy just like every Chinese restaurant I've been, unless you go to PF Chang or Pei Wei. Where can you find Meals for 2 for $22.00? It comes with 2 choice entry, 1 big choice soup, 1 pint rice, 1 side, 2 crisp eggroll with sauce and cookies! Can't beat that! Plus they speak Chinese! Now that's authentic! Lol. Tried this place on the recommendation of a golfing buddy, and he was on the mark (about the restaurant, not his golfing). Best eggrolls around (get the shrimp eggrolls) and we've had several items off the menu and all have been delicious. Fried rice served with the dinner combos is excellent.
