The CFR was dry especially the chicken which was white meat - maybe thigh meat would make it less dry ?? The wonton soup quart was mostly bean sprouts and the wontons were mostly dough with barely any filling. I enjoyed the plain broth. I don't think I'd come back. read more

I visit every-so-often. They have a full menu of Chinese and Sechuan offerings. Being that I am not an aficionado of Chinese cuisine, I don't usually delve too far into the menu. Instead, I go with dishes that I am familiar with Every meal I eat here is scrumptious. The food is well-prepared. The tea is much to my liking. Food is always good and consistent! Sesame Chicken is our go-to and really good. Love the wonton and hot and sour soup. Always friendly and the decor is spot on classic Chinese Restaurant. This place has been here forever and still remember the exact same decor from my childhood and going here. It's been going strong for 48 years plus. It's a step back in time for me and the decor is not old and dirty but well maintained and in good shape. Highly recommend you try. Not a huge menu but no complaints here. Chicken fried rice was tasteless, overcooked, and had maybe two pieces of chicken in it. Sweet and sour sauce was your basic sauce, pineapple pieces were sour. Really REALLY wanted to like this place, if not LOVE this place. They deliver and less than a mile from the house...it would have been a beautiful relationship! But no. I've ordered from them 3 times and each time the food has been bad. Sweet and sour sauce is super watered down. The egg rolls taste horrible! I can't even describe it, they're just nasty. The Crab Ragon I swear was just a scope full of cream cheese. But what really pushed me to the end. I ordered broccoli beef and it was so horribly bland! I had to salt it! I ordered sweet and a sour chicken dinner for my mom. Who was craving chinese food. I was disappointed when I noticed the chicken was the same chicken used in almond boneless chicken. Barely any pineappleas or carrots. They used the wrong chicken. Not coming back. Have been going here on and off for twenty yrs. I even gave a dollar tip. There was noone there at noon. I asked for plastic ware as my mom is in a nursing home and needed utencils. I was not provided plastic knives which was needed to cut the wrong size chicken provided. Ugh read more

It had fresh bean sprouts thrown in there, and all the other components in the soup were excellent. The General Tsao's was a different twist on the dish, but very good. Red naugahyde booths that have seen better days? Check. Sparsely stocked bar with drinks with names like "Zombie" served in umbrella decorated mugs depicted in menu illustrations? Check. Chinese Zodiac laid out on pieces of paper at each place setting? Check. Imperial Palace is your classic downtrodden, kind of divey, but still reliable Chinese restaurant. The kind of place you can eat at alone and not feel conspicuous since it's usually almost empty and you can bond with the depressing vibe. I still need a newspaper to look at, but I don't have to absolutely bury myself in it like I might someplace else. The staff is very nice, and overeager to please. Seems like they do the majority of their business in carryout. The food is a bit on the greasy side, but it does the trick, especially if you haven't eaten all day. The spring roll was good, nice and crisp. And my Szechaun shrimp was generously doused in gravy. The leftovers might not be all that a few hours or a day later, but fresh and piping hot this Chinese food warmed my belly on a cold winter day. And I got a regular cookie in addition to my fortune cookie. It's neither Imperial nor a Palace, but you could do worse than Imperial Palace. If I was Jewish, I definitely wouldn't mind coming here on Christmas. read more

The service was ATROCIOUS. We were one of THREE tables in the place for the lone server there. After taking our drink order, it took over FIVE MINUTES to get our drinks. And she forgot one person's drink entirely, and forgot to take the same person's meal order too. This happened all night. She would disappear for unreasonably long stretches, for no logical reason. She sure wasn't overworked. My father-in-law and I had identical dishes (minus the kind of rice). She told us they were both "out and ready" from the kitchen; he brought my FIL's, but mine came a full five minutes later. It took her FIFTEEN MINUTES to split our check. We even helped her identify what dishes were whose, and she still seemed stumped, like we'd presented her with the Theory Of Relativity. And then there's the food. When mediocre is something to aspire to, closing the doors should be an option. So many of the dishes look identical, even the waitress got confused when she was passing out plates, putting one person's dish in front of someone else because of the similar ingredients. The crackers that came with the soup were distinctly stale; they tasted musty and old. Dishes marked spicy have as much kick as table pepper. My dish - szechuan beef - was composed of 90% vegetables and 10% beef. When I pay for a MEAT-BASED DISH, I expect a MEAT-BASED DISH, not a salad with a tablespoon's worth of steak shavings tossed in. Not to mention there was so much of their watery "sauce" in my dish, the entire plate was swimming in it. It was like having a second bowl of soup. This is as bad as it gets. You will not find a staff more incapable of performing the basic functions of a job, nor food more mediocre. PF CHANG'S is more authentic. Save your time, your money and your tongue and stay away at all costs. read more

I've been on a search for a good local Chinese restaurant most my adult life and I have finally found it, and for 9 dollars for a huge combination plate, you cannot beat it! The food is delicious and the price is far lower than average for Chinese food. The only negative I could possibly say about the food is the spicy dishes are not hot. I used to love this place, I have to drive past two other Chinese places to get here. My last order I was shorted an order of Chow Mein, so I called and they said I could get it next time I came in. Today I call and place the order tell them I'm getting my replacement, when I show up the guy wants to charge me for it. I told him I already paid for it and he's like well that was a month ago, you should have got it sooner. (I only eat Chinese food once a month or so.) I really liked this place. The prices are great, food fresh and quick service. This is NOT a fancy place to eat so if you are trying to impress your girlfriend go somewhere else. However, if you want a really GOOD meal, that is freshly made, clean and relaxing go here. I had the chicken mushroom chow mien. It was great.
