Eight ladies from my knitting group had lunch here today. It wasn't busy inside but carry out was booming. Gen Tao Chicken was very good. The pieces were juicy & moist & served with a good portion of rice. The egg roll was large & also very tasty. There was no problem with giving out separate checks; which pleased everyone. read more

Decided to try a new Chinese carry out place to support a local business. Ordered egg drop soup, crab rangoon, general tsao chicken, almond boneless chicken, and roasted pork lo mein. Portion sizes were large and enough to feed multiple people. The general tso chicken was overly salty while everything else was pretty bland. The fried rice had little flavor and was dry/hard. We will probably stick to our regular Chinese take out place from now on. read more

I was looking for some quick Chinese around my area, and decided to go here. The carryout was quick, and the portion was huge, however, the chicken in my garlic chicken combo was NOT very tender. It was very tough, almost as if it had been cooked and sat around being re-heated. Mixed drinks like Zombies for $4.50 A dine in lunch special for $4.50 and a staff that is all smiles. My test for Chinese places is always the Almond Boneless Chicken, and this one was spectacular. 2 gigantic chicken breasts with a light, crispy batter over lettuce and fried rice, covered in the thick brown Hoo Mee gravy that i'm fairly certain has addictive properties. Won Ton soup was great, Egg Roll was great, it was all just... great. Got a simple hot and sour soup... how can a Chinese restaurant mess that up!! It was all broth with some slivers of bamboo shoots and two pieces of chicken. I took it back inside told me to have nothing in it they added some mushrooms and took out the bamboo shoots I should've known after coming here a few times. We got seated moderately fast, but the server didn't come over for at least ten minutes. Wtf. Food- I asked our server if they had fried wontons and she said "yes, with nothing in them". Wtf, really??! You don't even have pork ones? That sucks. That's my favorite thing to get at a Chinese restaurant. I ended up getting the sweet and sour chicken, which came with an eggroll and soup. The soup and eggroll came out before my Pepsi, which made no sense but wasn't a huge deal. The soup was just OK. Nothing special. The wonton in it wasn't very good. The eggroll was OK, but not terrible. The entree was absolutely awful. The rice was really gross too. I won't be going again. There has to be better food somewhere :( read more

Came here Christmas day 2015, with a party of 10 people, worse meal I have ever had in the 28 years coming here, they were out of egg drop soup , pork ribs were burnt tasted like crap, dinner came out a couple plates at a time, then as I was eating my chow mein, there was a large piece of plastic that ended up in my mouth cooked in t he food, gross!! There are other places to go for food and believe me this is not the only place around. Prices are extremely high with bad customer service. China kitchen saved my marriage. I absolutely love Chinese food, but my wife hates it. We have visited every Chinese place we could find since we moved to the east side in 2007. There are three things I look for in a Chinese restaurant: 1. Wonton's that don't taste like garbage. 2. Egg rolls stuffed with beam sprout mixture, not cabbage. 3. Fried rice that is not drenched in oil. China kitchen not only passes all three tests, but has actually converted my Korean wife to a Chinese food lover. I have to say, the food here is completely standard/mediocre. I have been here a few times, and nothing stands out at all. I would give the food three stars. HOWEVER, the drinks. Man, the drinks. I love corny restaurants with ridiculous drinks. Almost all of the cocktails here are under $5.00 and they are huge, fancy (always some ridiculous pom-pom thing in them), and strong. For $10 you can get a "volcano" which comes in a giant bowl with - no joke - a fire in the middle. It comes with 17" straws for you to share with your pals. I'd give the cocktail menu 5 stars. Also, the ambiance is great. It looks like a set for an 80s movie. Gorgeous murals on the walls and a nice, big fish tank. So, come and grab some standard grub, get a mai tai or something, and wander over to the movies when you're done. Great place. read more

The best crab rangoon in the area! No joke. This place has good service and good food, but the rangoon KILLS it. They are really huge, over stuffed pockets of sheer delight, and unlike other places, they use REAL crab meat. When you walk in it looks like any other Chinese place. At your table they list the daily lunch specials, all at $4.95. That's what drew us in the first time we went. Never have we been disappointed with anything here. Without a doubt this is one of the worst meals I have had in my long and well travelled life. Having just moved to the area, we were looking for something quick and healthy, which Chinese food usually is......not here. The noodles were stale tasting and the duck sauce had been watered down. This was the point at which we should have left. The wonton soup was tasteless, the hot and sour was flat and tasted strongly of beef consommé powder. When the soup was brought to the table, both bowls were spilled by the waitress. The egg rolls were over cooked and dripping in grease. The Chinese fried shrimp were also tasteless and as greasy as the egg rolls. I had oriental chicken and expected, as the menu promised, veggies with the chicken, which was delivered swimming in a dark, very salty sauce. The fried rice was soaked in soy sauce. The waitress was angry with us when we declined to take the leftovers with us. I am sure that there are some good Chinese restaurants in this area, this is not one. Drive on. read more

Greed is not a good thing. Have been going here for a while and the food is decent however their egg rolls are not to my liking. I noticed on the menu that the spring rolls and the egg rolls are the same price - when placing my order today, I asked if they would exchange the ER for a SR and was told there would be an $1.00 up charge. A whole lotta food for such a low price! The combo plates are the way to go....soup, egg roll, dinner roll, and then main course. I went there with my fiance and dinner for two was $22.00. I'm not a huge chinese food fan, so I can't really bring myself to go much higher than a 3... but the price probably would make it a 3.5. This is pretty much the only ACTUAL Chinese food place I will eat from, at least in my area. It comes across as clean and not "mystery meat" ish that too many places seem to serve. The price is a flat out steal and they will add extra to your dish for $1 more if you ask (which still comes out cheap). Combination plates come with soup and eggroll and they serve you in courses if you sit down to eat (you end up being stuffed before your food arrives). The last time I ate there the chicken fried rice was a little "burnt-ish" tasting... but that's not usual. It's a typical "mostly-carryout" place and servers are not going to win any awards but they are much nicer than most Chinese food restaurants (they actually act like they like you!). I enjoy coming here when people suggest Chinese - it's pretty much the only place I'll go to without saying 'You get carryout, I'll stop at Panera." So it HAS to be good. And, again, you CAN NOT beat these prices either. read more

This resturant is not good! I ate here with my husband. The food is greasy and lots of oil.the fried rice lots of oil too and soy sauce. We bring home our left over. The next day we ate our left over food. We woke up in the middle of night my husband and I our stomach was so upset! We did have diarrhea after eaten the left over food. Additional for that the waitress are not friendly and the owner of the resturant always seated at the bottom corner of the place inside. You people who think that this place is awesome are absolutely crazy. Almond boneless chicken soaked in grease so disgusting. The gravy look like it had lard and mixed with a slurry. The fried rice was not even fried rice. Egg roll and spring roll both not worth a penny. If you want good Chinese food I stand by Golden Chopsticks on Jefferson in St Clair Shores.
