If it wasn't for the fact that every other Chinese restaurant within a full tank of gas is complete garbage, this would be a "1". To their credit, it's cute how when you call in carryout, she asks your name, and you're like "Tom", and she's like "OHHH! TOM!!!" like you've been friends since the war but she hasn't heard from you since 2004. Seriously. It's cute. But the experience... It's peculiar how the matriarchs at Chinese restaurants try this Jedi mind trick with bad food. Last time I ate there ... she's like "These rolls are so soft and so sweet!" ... I try the roll. It's rock-hard. ROCK-HARD. But it *was* sweet. Or was that the blood seeping from my broken tooth? Just had to share that experience. Bon appétit! read more

This is our go-to Chinese place. Wish they had a paper menu with accurate prices on it. Would could carry out every week if I could.

Dank. This place is a hidden gem event from the parking lot. It looks closed but it's not. To-go only. I got the almond chicken and the broccoli beef the chicken was exceptional and the gravy that came with it was perfection. Huge portions, ate off my plate for 3 days. The wonton soup is probably the best I've ever had and packed full of wontons and veggies. I was one of three people in the lobby waiting for my food. Both of the other people had been eating there for 15 and 20 years. The one guy paid for my food, because he was so excited that I found the best Chinese food and all of Michigan! I'm going back for sure. read more

Over charging for food. The prices on the website are way under what you are quoted when you go in store and they have no explanation or excuse except it's an old menu. read more

This has now become our go-to spot for weekend Chinese food. The food is good, but they have no printed menus. We also wish that they were open at least 1 hour earlier to accommodate an order pickup straight from work without having to go home. read more

I ordered $40 worth of food and it was horrible They wouldn't issue a refund Sesame chicken was bitter and tasted like I've never tasted before. Chicken n broccoli had this disgusting white sauce when every place I've ever went it was always brown sauce. So dissatisfied and only thing they could say was different places use different sauce! I've been to places all over Michigan and Toledo and never did I experience this sauce so gross!!!! Will never go back read more

My guy decided to get takeout for Mother's Day so I didn't have to cook. Our family of three loves Chinese food. Soon Lee is right around the corner and is our default place to go. I always do the ordering and I think Soon Lee knows my voice. I always tell her it is a take-out order and give her his name. He gets the same order every time, Chinese fried shrimp with sweet and sour sauce, ABC with gravy on the side. I have convinced him to buy combo plates because the amount of food will make it last for another meal or two. We also ordered beef and broccoli, wonton soup, egg drop soup, and chicken with Chinese vegetables dish. The fried rice was good. It did not need any extra soy sauce like many other places do. The fried shrimp were big, perfectly fried, and tender. The chicken and vegetables had plenty of fresh vegetables in a light, tasty sauce with plenty of tender chicken pieces. My beef and broccoli combo was great. The beef was tender and there was plenty of it. The broccoli was cooked the way I liked it, a lot more tender than usual. The sauce was flavorful and made a nice addition to my fried rice. The ABC was crispy with a tasty gravy, on the side as requested. We also received a large container of white rice. The egg rolls were crispy and full of goodness. The egg drop soup was good. The wonton soup was perfect with plenty of stuffed wontons in a clear broth with some veggies. I do miss the fluffy dinner rolls they used to have but the pandemic made them virtually impossible to find. Overall, we received some tasty food. We will have at least two more servings per person and I don't have to cook tomorrow either!! Thank you Soon Lee for serving our community great food! read more

Tried this for the first time. Horrible. Just got home and it's hard to even eat this. I don't want to write a bad review but this is the worst almond chicken I ever had. And the orange chicken is the same style chicken breast with an orange sauce on it. Even the egg roll was awful, took a bite and all the filling came out. I would've drove an extra 15 minutes to get to L.C's Kitchen in Madison Heights. read more

Delicious Chinese food for several decades. It's take out only now. They give large portions. One order is enough to feed 2-3 people. It's a great value. I love this place! read more

GROSS! I am posting pictures of our food along with this review. We ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken along with Shrimp Lo Mein. This was our first time picking up food at this restaurant. Never, ever again. This restaurant is in a strip mall located next to a party store. A little sketchy after dark, but figured it was worth a try. Upon walking in the door it is very similar to a doctor's office waiting room with a reception window where you pick up food. The overall appearance was very dirty. From my vantage point, I could see a couple of fish tanks with the dirtiest water I had ever seen that were only half full. My only hope was that they weren't keeping the seafood that is being ate in them. The Sweet and Sour Chicken that I get at most places has the pink sweet and sour sauce in the side with breaded white meat chicken. HERE, it is breaded chicken (the absolute toughest I have ever ate) already coated in a sauce. The sauce can only be described as vinegar mixed with apple and gross. The Shrimp Lo Mein looked like no lo mein I have ever got. It didn't look cooked at all. The sauce on it can only be described as slime. Both meals went straight in the garbage after only one bite. The meals only cost $15 and were enough food to feed a family of 4-6. Would be a fantastic value if they weren't completely inedible. read more

Order General Taos chicken, egg rolls and wonton soup. First I'll say the outside was a little rough but the food inside is great! The general Taos was very flavor full and they give HUGE portions. It was a whole large container full of just chicken and then a medium contain full of rice. The egg rolls tasted good as well. Only down fall was the soup was bland. I will definitely be back to try it again. read more

Soon Lee - General Tso's Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Warren, Michigan

They have amazing Chinese food and the price is very reasonable. I've always enjoyed going there.

Just tried the sweet and sour chicken to go - it's okay. The meat and breading are good but the sauce isn't sweet enough. Really thick and unlike any other sweet and sour I've had. The rice is really good and the lady was very sweet giving me a huge thing of fortune cookies. I was surprised my meal was only $6 and it made me question the quality honestly. The inside is also really dirty, stains all over the floor, and just visible dirt on the floor and walls. Idk if I'll be back read more

This is out favorite spot for Chinese food! Everything we tried has been amazing! My go to is the sweet and sour shrimp with shrimp fried rice. The egg rolls are amazing and are huge! My husband is allergic to onions and they always are carful not to include them. Soon Lee is also the sweetest. read more

The food is pretty good and very filling. I usually get the pepper steak combination plate for only $6. It fills me up for the whole day. The only downside I would say is the carry out area is a little junky. I've gone 3 times during the last month and the same empty bag of chips has been on the floor. I hope that's no indication to how the kitchen looks. The lady that's always there is very nice. read more

I was looking for A new Chinese restaurant in my neighborhood. I stumbled upon Soon Lee. So I went in for lunch I had sweet-and-sour chicken. The price was good but unfortunately the food was not.I can't quite pinpoint what was wrong but ,I just know it wasn't very good. So with that being said I won't return.. read more

I sat inside and ate here today. The woman who runs it is so nice and friendly. They don't have fountain drinks so get cans of soda. I ordered the general tso chicken, it comes with a bunch of vegetables and you can order it in any variation of spicy. The dining area kind of feels like a storage closet so I'll probably just do take out when I come back. Overall it was good. read more

Soon Lee - Menu - Chinese Near Me - Warren, Michigan

It's pretty good to me, I would buy 2 quarts of rice and quart of gravy for under $4.00, it would give me 3 or 4 filling meals, which kept me from starving to death during a severe low point in my life. When I had enough money I would order a dish called har kow, it wasn't spectacular but when she repeated the order back it sounded like she said " you want the hot Karl?" With her accent, that would always give me a good chuckle. Tons of MSG though, that was the only downside read more

Not a fan, I had such high hopes based on previous reviews. I ordered the generals chicken combo. They added way to much sauce to it everything was soggy and drowning. I also asked for it spicy, and there was zero spice to it. The only good thing about it was the choice of vegetables. Using places serve with just broccoli but there were carrots, mushrooms, and water chestnuts. The egg rolls were gritty, almost like there was sand in them. Such a bummer. Wasn't even worth keeping the left overs, threw right in the trash. read more

We really like Soon Lee. We have been getting carry Out from here for about 3 years. The lady there always acts like each person who comes in is a long time valued customer. She really cares. They are usually busy and she is good about her estimates on when to pick up. We have tried almost all dishes and have our favorites, but haven't found anything we thought was bad. Their prices are a good value and portions are generous. They have a very low tech reward system that is great. One of the best gems we have in Eastpointe. read more

This Chinese place doesn't look like much when you show up. But the food is 10 stars. Very good. Best Chinese I ever had. The chicken was thick, and like everything else it was cooked to perfection. Great prices. Very friendly. I hope to be going back here for years to come. read more

I have been going here for over 10 years. It's the only Chinese Restaurant I will eat at. The food is delicious and never disappointing. The prices are great for the amount of food you get! The interior needs to be updated and fixed up a bit. Only negative. read more

Wonton soup was awesome everything else was bland and flavorless like it came from a pre packaged chinese frozen dinner.

Crab Rangoons are delicious and fresh made, not the store bought frozen and fried kind you find at the most restaurants! The sweet and sour chicken and shrimp are also delicious! The sesame chicken is great if you get it medium and like spice! The lady there also makes the experience, she's always happy and friendly and very welcoming!! read more
