broccoli and meat in a white sauce

I ordered $40 worth of food and it was horrible They wouldn't issue a refund Sesame chicken was bitter and tasted like I've never tasted before. Chicken n broccoli had this disgusting white sauce when every place I've ever went it was always brown sauce. So dissatisfied and only thing they could say was different places use different sauce! I've been to places all over Michigan and Toledo and never did I experience this sauce so gross!!!! Will never go back

Tried this for the first time. Horrible. Just got home and it's hard to even eat this. I don't want to write a bad review but this is the worst almond chicken I ever had. And the orange chicken is the same style chicken breast with an orange sauce on it. Even the egg roll was awful, took a bite and all the filling came out. I would've drove an extra 15 minutes to get to L.C's Kitchen in Madison Heights.

The most disgusting lo mein. Not cooked and I'm a slime sauce.

GROSS! I am posting pictures of our food along with this review. We ordered Sweet and Sour Chicken along with Shrimp Lo Mein. This was our first time picking up food at this restaurant. Never, ever again. This restaurant is in a strip mall located next to a party store. A little sketchy after dark, but figured it was worth a try. Upon walking in the door it is very similar to a doctor's office waiting room with a reception window where you pick up food. The overall appearance was very dirty. From my vantage point, I could see a couple of fish tanks with the dirtiest water I had ever seen that were only half full. My only hope was that they weren't keeping the seafood that is being ate in them. The Sweet and Sour Chicken that I get at most places has the pink sweet and sour sauce in the side with breaded white meat chicken. HERE, it is breaded chicken (the absolute toughest I have ever ate) already coated in a sauce. The sauce can only be described as vinegar mixed with apple and gross. The Shrimp Lo Mein looked like no lo mein I have ever got. It didn't look cooked at all. The sauce on it can only be described as slime. Both meals went straight in the garbage after only one bite. The meals only cost $15 and were enough food to feed a family of 4-6. Would be a fantastic value if they weren't completely inedible.

Huge order of General Taos chicken.
    Gavrilo I.

Order General Taos chicken, egg rolls and wonton soup. First I'll say the outside was a little rough but the food inside is great! The general Taos was very flavor full and they give HUGE portions. It was a whole large container full of just chicken and then a medium contain full of rice. The egg rolls tasted good as well. Only down fall was the soup was bland. I will definitely be back to try it again.

This is our go-to Chinese place. Wish they had a paper menu with accurate prices on it. Would could carry out every week if I could.

A "local favorite", for some unknown reason…read more 1) Tried to talk me out of ordering what i ordered, General Tsao's Tofu. "You sure you don't want chicken instead? Because for tofu we have to heat the oil in the fryer..." Like .... "Huh? What? Yeah, I'm sure." Honestly never had this experience before. I would think heating up the fryer is all in a day's work; and it was about 6 PM. No way was I the first person that day to order a fried dish. You don't wanna heat the fryer?! Nobody's forcing you to run this horrible restaurant! 2) General Tsao's has a lot of sauce. They packaged it in the cheap Styrofoam type of container. Of course I took precautions to have it not spill on the drive home. Of course it leaked all over, anyway. And I know they at least have the soup containers. They could have packaged the sauce separately. But no, too stingy. Literally did not want to spend an extra 25 cents to give a better customer experience. 3) The dish wasn't even what I ordered! It was Sweet and Sour, not General Tsao's. 4) It wasn't even good! 5) Before I served it, I rinsed off the container and everything else in the bag, so I didn't get sauce all over my self, my kitchen, my whole house honestly. Later when I went to eat the fortune cookies, one was soggy. So, there had been a hole in the wrapper before I even tried to open it. Great. I wonder what else is going on in their kitchen. Of course everything that enters the restaurant is brought in through the dirty alley... 6) ***NEXT DAY: DIARRHEA.*** ..........Thanks! 7) Much of this might have been avoided if they weren't still milking the whole "no dine-in", since COVID. I'm not about to turn around and go complain after I already drove home with the food. That's why they don't want you in the dining room. If nothing else, all the money they're saving, could go to buy the better containers. (I mean... they have a lot fewer dishes to wash, right? Assuming they even did that.) 8) What about explaining the problems with my meal over the phone, though? Well, first of all, I was hungry; I wanted to eat, not call Customer Service. But also, here's a scene from the "director's cut" version of the review... ;) While waiting for my food, I got to listen to the hostess talking on speakerphone to someone who was trying to order carry-out. She was trying to explain that if they came in to order, they would get more chicken, and fewer veggies. Seriously for 10 mins she's trying to explain it. Well, not really *explain*; more like she was just saying it over and over. Honestly it sounded like somehow the chicken would magically turn into vegetables, if they placed their order over the phone, but that wouldn't happen if they came in to order the carry-out in person. (Don't ask. I don't get it either!!) Finally the caller just gave up, and said she'd come in. (WHY?!) When the hostess got off the phone, she explained to the people in the lobby "she no understand". By the looks exchanged among us customers, I'm pretty sure none of us understood, either. So, trying to explain my situation, over the phone, and having to deal w/ a comprehension and communication gap like that? *Don't forget they didn't even want to cook my food in the first place!* No, I think it would be healthier for me to just chug a whole bottle of MSG.

I ordered the Egg Roll, the Chicken Fried Rice and the Shrimp Lo Mein. The egg roll was really good actually and definitely worth the price. The shrimp lo mein was super saucy which is usually a good thing but this sauce was horrible. To make matters worse, the lo mein was mostly vegetables so I didn't even get much noodle which is the appeal of lo mein. I pretty much ate saucy vegetables and mushrooms. And the fried rice... was (and I am not being hyperbolic) the driest fried rice I have ever had. It tasted reheated and not moist at all. It also lacked flavor and the chicken inside tasted like cardboard. I only had a couple bites of both these dishes before putting it away. I technically paid $23 for an egg roll is how I view this meal. I hate that I have to give a negative review to a local place but I have to stay true to my integrity.

This usually includes appetizers and dessert. Instead, the luncheon consisted of 10 entrees served family style. We were cool with this, and saw it as a great opportunity to sample the vast menu. For beverages, we had green tea. While my husband and I couldn't sample every dish due to allergies, I would say we tried at least 6 of the dishes. Of those 6, I think there was only one we didn't particularly care for (the eggplant). All other dishes we tried were quite tasty, and the service was great. The teapots were quickly refilled, the food was delivered promptly, and the staff was very cordial and professional. For ambiance, the decor was a little outdated, but not shabby. Regardless, I am happy when places focus the attention on the quality of their food rather than on any fluff. There didn't seem to be a time limit for our party, and none of us felt rushed by the staff. We all felt relaxed enough to enjoy our meal and conversation. One thing I felt bad about is there were a lot of uneaten dishes. Even when shared among tables of 10, ten entrees is a lot to eat! And that was without rice! We were told by our table mates that the restaurant didn't offer takeaway for unfinished meals. That is a shame because that meant a lot of food was going to be wasted. An area of improvement I would suggest is to offer takeaways for uneaten portions, so as to reduce waste. I was going to suggest serving rice as well, but in all honesty we didn't miss it. My husband and I plan to return to Golden Harvest so that we can sample appetizers and explore the menu a little more, but until then I will give my luncheon experience 4 stars.
