The first time I went to this restaurant, I ordered shrimp egg foo with two orders of shrimp fried rice, and they forgot part of my order. But I decided to give them another chance. This time I ordered the sesame chicken combo with shrimp fried rice and an egg roll, and it was Fresh, hot, delicious, and a lot of food. I'm glad I gave them a second chance because the staff was friendly, the food was ready in about 10 minutes and I really enjoyed my lunch break. One Star (and that's being generous). I rarely write reviews this harsh, but this place deserves it. Walking into Ping On today was a mistake. It was 85° outside and sweltering inside -- no air conditioning running, making it feel like a sauna rather than a restaurant. My 13-year-old son wanted to order a smaller lunch-sized portion, something reasonable for his age. Instead, the waitress informed him that he'd be charged full price if he chose that option. That's ridiculous and shows zero customer consideration. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was absolutely dead -- not a single other table.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] That alone should've been a warning sign. On top of that, the waitress reminded us twice that they were closing up soon and "just doing carryout now." I even asked if they wanted us to leave. She said no, but the entire tone made us feel like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. There seems to be a serious cultural disconnect here when it comes to hospitality and customer service. Combine that with the oppressive heat, bizarre pricing policy, and the awkward pressure of being told they're basically closing -- it all explains why the place was empty. If you're thinking about dining here, don't. Save your money and your time. There are far better Chinese restaurants in the area that actually value their customers and create a welcoming atmosphere. read more

I took my Aunt here (see the photos), who was impressed by the portions of the meals, which were all quite large. The bean sprout egg rolls were really good, as was the ABC that my Aunt ordered. There was only one server, who seemed to also be putting carry out orders together, which is okay depending upon how busy you get. Since our server, who was super nice and had a warm smile, was indeed a bit busy, we tried to get the busser to help us a bit (more water, extra napkins, etc.), but she unfortunately could not understand us, so we were left waiting a few times for some things. Overall this place has really nice food (not great, but if I lived closer I'd likely come 1-2 times a month) and is worth a lunch or dinner, either solo or with others. read more

Grateful for the option to dine inside at a Chinese restaurant. For a long time this was take-out only. Comparing with the other local Chinese restaurants this place fell in the middle for taste. The portions are huge. The servers were friendly. The ambiance is real nice with old-school red booths and various Chinese-themed decorations. There is an old phone out in the lobby bringing more charm to the environment. We will be back...we won't 'run' back but we will definitely return. read more

Just stay away. Remember this place for how good it WAS. The new menu that rolled out 3 months ago has very subpar food. The service on mother's day consisted of one waitress to manage the entire dining area and made getting your food almost a 1 hour wait after being seated. We got a carry out and they use syrofoam containers that are oozing and leaking everything. My counters and floors are oozing in goo. What chinese restaurants use syrofoam containers they only LEAK. If you order Chicken Chop Suey, be prepared for a couple pieces of celery, a bit of sliced chicken and it's all bean sprouts. Never have I ever had NO veggies with chicken chop suey. Don't even get me going on the Egg Foo Young! The brown gravy they say come with it? Is like tan at best. Oh My God, Worse place ever! The sweet sauce with egg rolls? Is so old and gooey. We ordered take out from here for the first time in years and the portions are large. The wonton soup is great, with lots of stuff in it! The cashew chicken was cooked well but rather bland. The husband enjoyed his curry fried rice with chicken. I made a big mistake ordering online. Even though my intention was always to pick up the order, I was charged Grub Hub prices! Have used take out many times. You always receive a great amount of good food. Have had Kung Pao chicken, chicken chop suey, vegetable and chicken fried rice, and always an egg roll. Food is always hot and ready "on time". Great! read more

This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. It was Mother's Day, we ordered carry out and they told us an hour wait to pick it up. That is fine no issues with that. I went to pick up an hour later, at least 18 other people waiting. They told me another 15 minutes, ok it was Mother's Day. From the time I called to when my order was ready was 2:35 minutes. Kept being told they are working on it. Some one walked in a placed an order after I had been waiting an hour and he got his food before me. The food was cold, not fresh. We had almond chicken the batter was greasy. The egg rolls were soggy. The pepper steak had no meat, it had a ton of black beans instead. The sweet and sour sauce was off. The pork chop suey had what appeared to be a pork noodle for the meat, no flavor. The fried rice was just balls of rice no flavor. So disappointing . The total for the food was over $75.00 for 4 dinners and 2 extra egg rolls. What a horrible experience. Maybe the should of not accepted any more orders. Ordered chicken lettuce wrap appetizer. Food came out cold, asked them to reheat. It then tasted old like dried wood. They said they could remake fresh. 3 1/2 stars. Sweet and sour chicken a four star, wasn't gummy like most places. The chicken was white meat , the carrot and green peppers were crunchy not soggy like most. The pineapple juice was canned. The roll of as soft and rather tasty. The egg roll was average. The egg drop soup was little better than I've had. I felt a little rushed to order and to eat. I've been coming here since high school and I'm 42. the prices are consistent the food is spectacular and the service is awesome! please do not pay attention to people who are nitpicking! I love Chinese food and now I live in Fenton. When I come to visit my parents we always dine. Called this place and they said they were open until 10pm. Drove all the way there and arrived at 9pm only to find out that only the carry out is open until 10pm. That would have been nice to tell us before we wasted a trip. That said my first impression is that the place is dirty and musty smelling inside anyway so I am glad we didn't get to eat here!! Yummy yummy food. Had the Szechuan lo mein. It had nice sauce and a lot of shrimp and chicken. It was spicy and hot and a lot of food. Also had the sesame chicken. It was yummy and a big portion. This has been our go to place for so many years I can't even give a date. LOL. Today we ordered our usual:General Taos chicken and Mongolian Chicken. The first thing we noticed was that the rice had no pieces of scrambled egg, pea nor anything other than brown color rice. It had zero flavor. The generous portion of General's chicken was soggy and it too lacked flavor. The breading did not have that crunch/texture of old. There was very little chicken in the Mongolian dish. Egg drop soup was great. The sweet roll, typically my fav was very dry, not as sweet, and an odd color. I tried to soak it in the soup and it took forever to soak some up. The roll still had a strange dry texture and flavor. Honestly, If someone would have put this in front of me and I did not know it was from here I would have said the food came from a different establishment. Not sure I would return. Wow, this is the best Chinese food I have had a while. I moved here from California where good Asian food is everywhere. However, this place is one of the few I have had where every dish was delish! The chicken egg foo young was greasy and what wasn't greasy, was dry. The chicken tasted old. That was overpowered as well by the flavor of old grease. A common theme with anything I ordered that was fried there, including the egg roll. Specifically asked for hot mustard and it was not included. Second time this has happened here. Clearly somebody's skimping on not including extras and not changing the oil. Garlic chicken was beyond bland and the chicken was dry and tasted old. I regret that I ordered from there and will not be going back again. Just too many good Chinese options in the area to suffer through this again. I love leftovers but, sadly, threw these away.
