Dumplings in the soup were plump and delicious, though they skimped on the soup greens. Crispy noodles included free. Szechuan dishes had great variety of veggies though a little heavy on the onion. Sauces were plain and watery with little flavor. Meh. Pork Egg Foo Young patties were delicious. The gravy was a tasteless glop of goo. The fried rice was plain Jane. Egg rolls were the same cheapo product most places serve today. Anyone old enough to remember the fresh handmade eggrolls of the 1970's? Oh how I miss them. Huge, fat and full of micro-shrimps, fresh cut grassy bean sprouts, enveloped in a crispy-crunchy wrapper fried in animal fat to a deep brown color. I miss that bliss. Today's pre-frozen eggrolls pale in comparison. Carry-out only. Ambience is hoarder-like. Service was fast and efficient despite the usual language barrier. I wish Elaine still ran the place.
