Right around the corner!!! Just moved and what a delight. I was 2 towns over and starved. There was a Chinese restaurant w/in walking distance but the gal in the office told me to come here. I've just been here a month, so I hadn't had a chance to try it. It's nice inside. Old style Asian. Gr8 service. Helpful staff. Egg rolls are made with bean sprouts, not cabbage- they were small, but very good. Their Veggie Wonton soup was DIVINE! A larger size and it was just enough with 2 egg rolls. Moved to Chesterfield in March haven't found a "Decent" Chinese Restaurant in the area and was willing to travel. Found this place on Yelp and figured we check it out which was a 20min drive but the town it's in has a great Main Street with little shops to visit so definitely worth the drive. We went on a Friday night and the place was dead only 1 other table was seated. Throughout the dinner it seems they make their money on carry out service. The restaurant is very typical Chinese Restaurant decor seemed half way decent on being cleaned no food or trash in the dining area. The food was good my GF thought it was also good but seemed that the prices didn't match the food you received. Skimpy on her dish with both meat and veggies mine was a decent amount of food. The soup I was expecting Wonton Chips... instead received crackers... plane jane crackers The egg roll was very typical I felt it was over cooked the shell was very hard but it was stuffed with plenty of veggies and the sauce was decent. I prefer them for carry-out only. I'm not crazy about the dining-in experience. The waitresses can never pick up the dirty dishes, no matter how many times they come to your table. On every visit. Not to mention they all seem to sit at the roundtable together too much, when they could be waiting on the customers and clearing the dishes more. Nothing wrong with taking a break, but when your customers are trying to get your attention and your back is to them that's not good. The sesame chicken is pretty good and also the triple war bar delight. I'm not sure of the spelling on that dish. Almond cookies always good. This place is not what it used to be. Ordered pepper steak with extra steak, no extra steak but was charged for it. Wait time is about a hour for dine in. Don't waste your time or money. Wow. Just wow. This was our first time at the won ton palace. There were no signs saying whether to seat yourself or not and no one was manning the front of the restaurant so we sat down. We came in at 7:30pm It was at least 10 minutes before anyone asked if we had been served. The restaurant was more than half empty at this point and we got our drinks which were 90% ice. There was so much ice in the glass that putting the straw in the cup made the ice spill out. We ordered two rangoon dishes, an extra eggroll and two meals. The waitress told us there was a bit of a wait which we were fine with. Then my fiance joked "as long as it's not an hour" to which the waitress responded "It shouldn't be but the take-out wait time is an hour and a half" We almost left but she reassured us that was just the take out wait time. So our meals came with rice, eggroll, oolong tea and soup. We were served the soup with terribly stale crackers. Whatever. Then came the rangoons, which were thick but actually super garlic flavored and quite delicious. Then the eggrolls came(think cheap frozen eggrolls) and the waitress forgot the extra eggroll. Oh well? As long as we aren't charged for it. Then we waited and waited and waited. We never got refills on our drinks, the waitress rushed by everytime. And we never got our oolong tea. It wasn't until 9:15pm the waitress told us our food was almost done. We decided to get it to go because we were tired. She boxed it up before bringing it out in a tied bag at 9:30pm. We paid $34 and I tipped the waitress very well because I felt bad for this highschooler running around trying to wait so many tables. We took our food and drove 10 minutes home. Got our forksout ready to eat and our dishes were both extremely overcooked to mush. They were both served with the exact same brown sauce even though one of us got a spicey dish. And they forgot the rice. We called to get our money back immediately and they closed early. We are going back tomorrow to get our money back. I can't even feel bad for our waittress anymore. The service was terrible, all the food was disgusting except for the soup and rangoons. I am just so extremely disappointed. Never go here. read more

Best Chinese food I've ever had. I keep trying other places hoping that I can find a place closer than 30 minutes from my house, but while Leong's will do in a pinch, I more often find myself making the hour round trip to get Wonton Palace. My only complaints are that they charge the same amount as other Chinese restaurants for less food, and the restaurant hasn't been updated for at least 20 years, it is exactly the same as I remember as a kid. Egg rolls are the best I've ever had and I cannot get enough of the Chinese fried shrimp. They also have very good fried rice, almond chicken, sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, and crab rangoon. read more

We had a taste for Chinese and had not been to the Won Ton Palace in quite awhile. We ate inside around 4:30PM on a Friday. Not very busy at the time for dining in, BUT the take out was VERY busy. We both had Almond Boneless Chicken along with Wonton Soup and Egg Rolls. Everything was very good. The soup was NOT salty which often happens at many restaurants. The egg rolls were very good and the Almond Boneless Chicken was a good portion along with lettuce on the bottom, green onions sprinkled over the top along with a pretty decent gravy. The chicken was slightly salty, but the breading was thin and the chicken was very moist. We had it with the ooh long tea which was also very good. We finished off with Almond cookies that were also very good. The service was VERY good. By the time we left, the inside dining had picked up and they were quite busy. I know I've seen some reviews that complain about them being open only 4 days per week. To those people I say, be lucky that they are open at all. Help is hard to find, especially GOOD help. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! Tonight, my boyfriend, his roommate and I all ordered from this place. None of us got anything like we ordered. They charged us for the meals, and didn't include the fried rice or the egg rolls. On top of that, there was like four bites of meat and the rest was watered down sauce and crappy wanna be veggies. I don't know if it was the person that put in the order, or the person that made it but this was an awful experience. Really bummed out because everyone around here says this place is bomb but it's the worst take out I've ever had. 0 stars. My waitress was very nice today and patient with my residents and I we came in a little after 4 because we were running behind and the owner let my residents get the lunch price. Don't believe these reviews--Wonton Palace is terrible. My boyfriend and I came here after reading a bunch of glowing reviews, thinking that the one 1-star review was an anomaly. Guess what? It's not. The exact same thing happened to me. The girl at the register didn't acknowledge us when we came in, leaving us to look like a couple of idiots as we waited to be seated. Our waitress was...peculiar. Not really talking loudly enough for us to really hear what she was saying, making all of her actions (like leaning over to clean our dirty table), strike us as odd. Our food took an unnecessarily long time to get to us, given that the restaurant was practically deserted (at 7:30 pm on a Saturday--that should have been my first warning), and the table next to us, who came after we got there, was served before us. Now, let me tell you about this food. My boyfriend ordered sweet and sour chicken, which was half-way decent, but he also got some fried rice with no vegetables, meat, or eggs in it (which is pretty rich considering the fact that you had to pay an extra dollar for it). In addition to that, the soup he got before the meals came wasn't hot. I got a General Tso's Chicken dinner, which included the entree, white rice, an egg roll, and oolong tea. The tea never came. The egg roll was the worst I've ever had--I don't know if it was old or what, but it tasted like there was feta cheese in it. It took everything I had to not spit it out. And the General Tso's? Not even General Tso's. I asked our waitress if this was the General Tso's that she had given me. She said yes. It tasted an awful lot like chicken with garlic sauce. Clearly, they don't know what General Tso's is actually supposed to be--you know, fried chicken chunks with the reddish sauce and the broccoli? Everything about the meal was a disappointment. When the waitress came to ask if we wanted boxes, my boyfriend was trying to be polite and say that he was full and couldn't eat anymore, and she was like, "okay, so...boxes?" I wish I would have told her, "okay, so...check?" And then there's the restaurant itself. We almost didn't go in because there was a sign taped to the door that said CLOSED (though, upon further examination, it said they were closed on Halloween). The booths are torn up and gross, the lighting is weird and dark, and the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. So, to recap the meal from hell: 1. Run-down interior 2. Bad service 3. Worse food 4. World's saddest-looking clientele Don't even give this place a chance. If you want good Chinese food, go up to the China Lee in Sandusky or something. Don't waste your time or your money with Wonton Palace unless you want to leave $25 lighter and full of regrets. read more

Had an excellent meal here tonight. We live in NY, but are in town to visit family, and we always stop for Michigan Chinese food when we are here. You might not believe it, but there's a big difference. We ordered almond boneless chicken, because it's a Michigan thing and can't be found outside of this state. Our ABC, was fantastic. We also ordered a side of chicken fried rice, we got soup, egg rolls, and I also got oolong tea. The menu says the tea comes with the din we, but they only bring it if you ask for it. The service was great. The meals are large. We ordered 2 dinners for 4 people, plus 2 half orders of fried rice, and we still had left overs for at least a lunch for one person. read more

This is my local, at-home Chinese go-to restaurant. I recently ate here for the first time in about three years because I no longer live in the area, and I nearly SWOONED from how good it was. I was afraid that after so long that I had built it up in my mind better than it really is, but there was no reason to worry. I went away to school at UM in Ann Arbor, home of the Chinese/Japanese/Korean restaurant amalgamation, and in the past five years I've lived there I have yet to find a chinese/asian place that is as good as Won Ton Palace, and trust me, I have tried a lot. I often end up disappointed in Ann Arbor because I keep looking for somewhere to match this place. Wonton is truly a gem. My one quibble is that they are no longer open on Sundays, but their big sign still says "open 7 days" and that they no longer have menus available for you to take home if you're calling to order carryout instead of eating in. I called in my order from a menu that had to be nearly 10 years old that my parents had in the junk drawer (Suprisingly though, the prices from the old/new menu I saw at the front counter had not gone up very much at all, despite major food price inflation during this time). If they are not going to give away printed menus, then they really need to have a complete menu with prices on their website, which is severely lacking. Otherwise, this is as close to perfect as I think I will ever find a chinese place. read more

I personal think that the Won Ton palace has some of the best Chinese food around. I've gotten Sesame chicken at different restaurants, but none are like this. Their sauce is a dark brown sauce, which has just the amount of heat to it. It's divine. My only complaint would be is that there Chicken fried rice is bland. read more

Well, we liked Won Ton Palace so much we went back. Different wait staff. Not as friendly or professional. Different cook? Potstickers were very good but greasy. They weren't last time.
