Food and customer service has gone down hill... The lady was rude I asked for soy sauce and she said "you need more" I said I didn't open the bag and she handed me 2. I checked the bag and there was 2 in there for 2 meals.. You use to be able to get veg or pork fried rice with your meal and now they won't let you. And only ONE BROCCOLI STEM with my chicken. This place use to be the best around and would hook you up. This place runs like a well oiled machine. Orders coming in left and right. Walk ins and calls non-stop while I was there and I can see why. I ordered at the counter all in the midst of the chaos totally prepared to wait a bit because I didn't call ahead. That being said my order was still done in about ten mins. Even with all the chaos of other orders. I give them huge props for this because my food was delicious. Super hot and fresh. Loads of fresh veggies and an amazing Szechuan sauce. Friendly staff ready to take orders and to make them quickly. Not much of an area to sit so don't expect a bunch of booth or seats. Just a small business for mainly take out. My order made it at least 15 mins drive and was still hot. I also asked for a little extra heat with the chicken and they delivered without it being disgustingly spicy. It was perfect. A little sweat on my forehead but I can't stop eating it. Can't wait to try more from here. read more

I've been in Port Huron for just over a year and this restaurant comes the closest to my favourite Chinese restaurant down in Jackson, Mi. They take my order(s) quickly and always have it hot and waiting for me when I get there. I tend to lean towards the lo mein and the shrimp fried rice. The lo mein always has plenty of veggies, meat and of course noodles. They put it in aluminum foil bowls so do NOT put the containers in the microwave unless you want to buy a new microwave. read more

Under the criteria of Chinese Takeout food, the place is worthy of 5 stars. I'm not comparing it to a sit-down restaurant, as I feel that expectations should be different. With that said... The service at the Great Wall is excellent, on par with what I would expect from ANY restaurant. The people are courteous, efficient, and helpful. An important value is if a restaurant is willing to "adjust" the dish to a customer's needs. For example, the combination meals come with fried rice and an egg roll. I asked for broccoli as substitute to the rice. There was a $1 upcharge, which is normal. The staff person was accommadating. Everyone has their preferences when it comes to Chinese food. I like the chicken dishes like Sesame and General Zhao options. Chicken itself was tender and good chunks. The meal portion was perfect. 1-2 people can enjoy one of their combination meals. If you're looking for a meal to take home or a hotel, this place is a definite winner. read more

Our family favorites are the Shrimp Lo Mein (lots of veggies, noodles, shrimp and sauce), Cashew Chicken (lots of cashews, celery and other crunchy stuff), Almond Chicken (lots of sliced, batter-fried chicken and gravy), Sesame Chicken (lots of chunky chicken sprinkled with sesame seeds and sauce), and Beef and Broccoli (lots of beef, broccoli and carrots). All are fresh and full of flavor with NO MSG added. After a long day at work it's always so nice to have service with a smile too. ALWAYS a smile. Great Wall has the best Chinese food in all of Port Huron. I would rate them five stars, and I would help them bring them more business by spreading the good word. However, they have absolutely no customer service skills, and they especially have no regard for me every time I come here. For this, I rate them two stars. Yes, I've never had anything bad here. In fact, everything is absolutely delicious. Everything from their egg drop soup to their lo mein. They have plenty for us vegetarians. The omnivores love their dishes too. The portions are MASSIVE for the price. You can't get much better than this anywhere, even in Chicago. It's cheap, it's super good, and you get a lot for what you pay for. However, I find it very unfair that they cannot make the tofu dishes in small sizes when every other dish is available in small sizes, even seafood. I hate getting large portions. I am a tiny person, and I always have leftovers, and it is wasteful, which is why I always order the small size whenever possible. Everyone else in my party when we go to Great Wall gets to order their entrees in a small except me. When I first went to Great Wall, I tried to order General Tso's Tofu and I asked if they can make give me a small portion. They said "no". I ordered it anyway. I called a few hours later and tried to speak to the manager or owner (who was unavailable). She told me that they will do it for me next time. Next time comes around and they told me that they would not honor that request. I was not given a reason. They told me they wouldn't do it. I mean, really? I understand that they do not sell the tofu dishes very often, if at all. We're in a small city in Michigan. But, tofu doesn't cost very much, even at market price. Maybe ~$2 at a neighborhood grocery store. It's not like I'm asking them to change the recipe! Anyway, I was annoyed and angry that they told me that they would honor that request and they didn't. Plus, they aren't a friendly bunch anyway. At least, the lady who runs the front and takes orders. Yes, I would go back, but very reluctantly. I and my boyfriend's family like Chan's Buffet and Mongolian Grill. Oh yes, I went there. I listed other restaurants in this review. This place seems to be stepping up their game. They have been here for quite a while, but recently I have noticed the food is better. Some of my friends rave about the soup. The quantity and prices are good. 10 minutes for most orders, so you can't argue with speed. Not crazy about their egg rolls, but other than that a quick over the counter Chinese place. Friendly. Their kitchen is clean, their staff is remarkably fast, and the food is pretty good and the prices are hard to argue with. Hung up on 3 times before I could finish telling the woman that answered the phone our order. Was yelled at for wanting different rice. First, let me start off by saying that I haven't eaten here in a year or two. I love the beef fried yellow rice that comes standard with most of their dinner meals. I've yet to find another Chinese restaurant that does this. Their sweet & sour chicken is on par with other places as well. They have a house special (chinese chow mein) that is really good, a bit greasy (most chinese food is...) but good! Their sesame chicken is also extremely good! They usually aren't the friendliest but they're quick. They also have a few tables to eat in as well but from what i remember it's a bit noisy. They don't use Styrofoam containers for their dinners, they use foil pans and plastic lids although sauces come in a Styrofoam bowl (assuming the soup does as well.) read more

This used to be a great place for Chinese take out. I ordered almond chicken and I swear it is pork. Taste nothing like chicken and also looks like a boneless pork chop.
