I placed an online order using Grubhub/Seamless and when I went to pick it up I was told the restaurant only uses Doordash. I wad taken aback because nothing like this has ever happened to me. staff bring their kids here and they run around and do handstands in the foyer. The kids were so loud and the staff were even louder. Everything about Cheap Charlie's can be improved. Food was substandard to say the least! Popcorn was stale, chef salad wasn't prepared correctly as there were large chucks of lettuce in the salads grilled chicken wasn't fresh and sure wasn't grilled. BLT was hastily put together with lettuce hanging off the out of the sandwich, bacon was a thin as a sheet of paper and the french fries were mediocre. The bread sticks were cold and hard ass rock. Just wow! I can only Wednesday and enjoyed the AUCE walleye. It was absolutely fantastic. Breaded. But, lightly seasoned to let the yumminess of Walleye shine through. Sides we more than adequately portioned. This place is top notch! See ya next Wednesday! read more

A small town legend. This place is a hometown classic. The food I had recently was pretty decent. The cook even came out to make sure everything was tasting good. The service was friendly and attentive. Spacious restaurant. Big parties or small. Tables and booths including a bar area. This time around we got a baby pepperoni pizza and an olive burger. Everything was hot and delicious. I do wish I could have got a rare burger. This is one of the places that cook everything to a medium well. It was still delicious and juicy that being said. A standard here is the bread sticks and cheese. On another note; I really wish they would incorporate their branding better in the menu. The characters they have etched on the glass partitions are so cool and I wish I seen more of a cohesive brand identity. I'm a graphic designer so I can help but think about these things. read more

Had a tremendous deep dish square pizza here last week. "The Kitchen Sink" was the name of it, and it would be similar to a Jets DC-10, but a bit lighter. Enjoyed it but, be careful of the cheap wire racks that the set the pizza pans on to save table space. They will launch a pizza off the table if even slightly bumped. read more

Absolutely atrocious customer service experience here. Upon arrival, we were given a menu that was 5-6 pages long with an assortment of food ranging from burgers to stir fry to pasta to tacos. I was kinda skeptical of how many wildly different options there were on the menu- this is typically a red flag that the kitchen has too much going on- but I decided to stay optimistic and try to get excited about the wide variety of options. After bringing a batch of popcorn to the table as a starter- an odd but I suppose unique choice- I ordered a "wet" chicken/bean/rice burrito. When it got to the table, I was immediately put off by the lack of freshness exuding from the plate. The wrap was hard and looked uncooked, and upon cutting into it the chicken looked stiff and dry as well. No worries. I mentioned- politely and kindly!- to the waitress that I didn't really feel enthralled with my choice and asked if I could swap it with another choice. She was very nice about it and said sure, offering me a menu and a few minutes to look it over and decide on something else. After she walked away, an older lady- I'm assuming the manager, judging by the dress shirt she was wearing as opposed to a uniform shirt like the servers- came over to ask if everything was okay. I said that the rest of my family was enjoying their meal, and I was just deciding what else I wanted to eat because I wasn't super impressed by the burrito. I was being really, really nice about it, because I already felt awkward and embarrassed that I had sent it back- I usually never do that, but it was just so unappealing to me, I wanted to gag even thinking about taking a bite. I'm also pregnant, so maybe that played into it. Anyway, the manager took it from me and said "it's a burrito. I don't know what you expect a burrito to look like." And then stormed away. I was appalled at her behavior, as I had worked in the service industry for several years in the past and would NEVER imagine berating my customer for their choice, ESPECIALLY if I was a manager. I felt so uncomfortable that I just ended up not ordering anything else. I can't tell you if I was charged for the burrito or not because when the server brought out our receipt, my spouse handed her his card without double checking. The cost was only $25 or so, so I'm assuming they did not charge us, but wow. I can't believe a manager would be so rude to a patron. I was being as polite as I could and had no issue reordering something new, I understand that sometimes things don't come out the way we expect, I just wanted a dinner that I could actually stomach eating. Super uncomfortable and upsetting experience. I would absolutely never recommend this restaurant to anyone. read more

My wife and I just moved to Port Huron and are trying out the local restaurants. This was on our list. We were greeted in an odd manner - the greeter said, "Hello, Fellas", which is an odd and inappropriate way to greet a man and woman. They sat us near the kitchen, where several of the waitstaff were arguing with the "manager". It's always fun to hear the complaints of the staff once the manager is out of earshot. They brought out stale popcorn (presumably from the GFS behind the restaurant). As we were looking at the menus, we noticed that there were several mistakes. It's just a pet peeve, but I hate when a menu is full of spelling mistakes and wrongly used apostrophes - It makes me feel that the restaurant lacks attention to detail. I ordered a medium burger and fries with a side of mayo. My wife ordered a club sandwich and fries. The waitress didn't write anything down, so we hoped her memory was good. After a short wait the food came out missing my side of mayo. The waitress didn't come back to the table for 15 minutes. So we just went on with the meal. The burger was well-done and a little dry, but overall, the food was OK. During the meal, an older woman near us wanted to order chicken tenders without fries and the manager came over to tell her (in a VERY condescending way) that they only do that for children. The highlight of the meal was that UofM beat OSU. I gave the experience a 2 because the food was palatable. I'd give it a 1 for service. I never did get my side of mayo. read more

We came to Port Huron to sit by the water and thought we would give this place a try. I'm not really sure what affect they are going for with the words on the menu spelled out phonetically but it was so weird and hillbilly. I've had a Big Mac pizza other places and loved it; but here it was horrible as the meat had no flavor but overall it seemed to be missing something. The steak had huge amounts of fat, was tough and the onions could have been cooked longer. The sketti was good and so were the jalepeno poppers but they are deep friend hard to mess that up( forgot to take a pic) we each got chili with our meals and if you like spicy chili you will probably love it - I'm just a wimp with heat but my friend said it was tasty. The drinks were cheap- I think they were like 5&6 dollars for jack and makers mark and I liked the old school glasses they came in. They were short staffed but we were not in a rush and that did not effect the rating because they were kind and I always had what I needed. If anything we left here kinda feeling grossed out. The best thing about this place is the extensive people watching you get to do. While my expectations for a local chain was very low, this place was everything I thought it would be. We ordered beer and it was flat. We waited over 30 minutes for our food. Server dropped 1 full order and part of another. The dish that was dropped took over 15 minutes to be delivered to the table when they said it would be out shortly. Everyone else was already done eating. The food was dry some fries were salty and others weren't salty enough. Our waitress was not very attentive. When my husband went up to talk to the manager about our service all she did was make excuses and no apology. She was rude, she said she was one of the managers and turns out she was the owner. This was a surprising delightful experience! Took our 6 yr old grandson for late lunch not expecting all the extra touches of experience! Our waitress Jillian arranged for a happy birthday sera made along with balloon and cupcake and freeze pop! Not to mention the very generous portions! Excellent kids meal selection!
