Rose Dukbokki

First time at this location and it was very big/spacious with a drive through. The servers were nice and it was clean inside. I ordered the rose tteokbokki supreme from the shareables sections and it came with cheese, gimmari (which I've never had it was yummy), and pot stickers. I couldn't find the supreme version on their official menu online though. My friends had bulgogi and soy garlic chicken which they said was good.

Love their boxes! Got the popcorn chicken box. Taste was amazing. Chicken well fried. Super juicy. A perfect combination with their sauce. Also a good variety with the glass noodles and salad.

The ambiance is really nice- spacious, light, bright, simple. Service is really great - a very nice lady helped me and she was very welcoming and had a big smile. They bring you the food to your seat and it is a fast casual style of service. You can help yourself to your drink and utensils. There's also a hot Korean tea. The food was awesome and reasonably priced. Asian restaurants in the area are either overpriced or the ambiance isn't very good, but this is neither of those qualities. Ordered: sassy fries - so good. It has cheese and spicy mayo Fried chicken wings - crispy and fresh- sauces are great. I did sassy sauce (kick and a sweetness) and a garlic sauce (hint of sweet) Bulgogi bento - so good- I loved the variety of items in there. The glass noodle was my favorite. Plus the dukboki pieces in the beef Bibimbap spicy pork- in a hot bowl- has a good mixture of fun toppings including kale, corn, and the glass noodle I"ll have to come back again.

Really flavorful. Wish it were a bit cheaper but I'll get two meals out of it! You get a lot of rice which is expected.

Spacious interior. The half bench tables are a bit dirty. Did a bit of cleaning since we can saw some red stains all over. The sauce from from the tteokbokki and the chicken sauces too. May be because customers bus their own tables. The counter staff that took our order was froenkh Ordered a medium popcorn chicken with the Korean sassy and supreme sauce, but are spicy sauces, tteokbokki, kimchi fries and two kimchi sides.$49.82 The tteokbokki is a tad too soft, but it's spicy and flavorful. The kimchi fries are good. The fires are still crispy and crunchy too. Double fried is a good thing. The popcorn chicken with both the Korean sassy and supreme are both yummy. The Korean double fry concept is genius, the popcorn and the fries were still crispy after we finished our last hite I so wish this franchise had Kimbap, that would make this meal even better for me.

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The wait is a bit long to get the food ready, they seem to have lots of online orders. We tried fried chicken. The Koren sassy sauce is a great option, I like it better than the supreme. The chicken itself has too much dough to my liking. Overall, it's decent but not my favorite type of Korean fried chicken in the area.

Bibimbap with bulgogi and kimchi

This is a great addition to the Maple/Coolidge commercial area. I believe Estia used to be in this space, which I mourn since it was very good. But this place is amazing! Great portions and tons of flavor. Reminds me of my favorite Korean restaurant outside Chicago where I know mom is cooking in the back. We got the bibimbap with bulgogi and kimchi, popcorn chicken box, and regular chicken sandwich with fries. The bibimbap had an absolute perfect egg on it, bulgogi was so flavorful, and the kimchi was spicy/tangy enough to complement the whole dish. I opted for traditional gojujang as the sauce. Lots of veggies in the dish, hefty portion of rice as well. I just wish there was more "meat" considering I ordered bulgogi and kimchi adds so I figured it would last the whole dish (only about half). Popcorn chicken box was delicious. Crispy chicken and great "Korean Sassy" flavored sauce. The sides were also good. Wish they would list what the sides are on the menu. Had to go off some Yelp photos. Chicken sandwich was good. Crispy and a little overly crispy on the verge of hard. But the fries were amazing! Good potato flavor, crispy but not hard. Great flavor. Overall, we would order again considering they are so close and online ordering took only 20 minutes to be ready.

Enjoyed having lunch here, the service was so great and the restaurant was so cute and clean. The flavor of the chicken was so good and it was perfectly crispy. I would definitely recommend getting the soy garlic flavor!

I love the box and how it is divided up. I got pretty full before I could finish it all so make sure you have an empty stomach. I like that you can try different sauces but I was confused on which ones I could pick but it was delicious anyway. The white sauce on the side helps you cool down with the spicy chicken but it is still really flavorful.

Probably the best Korean fried chicken around! The chicken was so crunchy and full of flavor. We got popcorn chicken and wings. The popcorn chicken has sassy sauce and soy garlic sauce on top. It was extremely flavorful. The staff is very nice and welcoming!

Sambong Korean Restaurant

This place absolutely delivers. The service alone is worth noting. Our server explained that the owner makes the myun (buckwheat noodles) fresh in house, using the ultra thin style that absorbs the broth if you don't eat quickly. That detail alone told us we were in the right place. The hwe naengmyun (spicy cold noodle with raw fish) was exactly what I was hoping for. The fermented, salted raw fish had that sweet, sour, spicy, deeply umami flavor I missed, with a chewy texture that pairs perfectly with the icy, refreshing broth and noodles. I'd give it a 4.5/5 only because I personally love it even more aggressively fermented, but that's purely preference. At the end of the bowl, adding yuksu (hot beef broth) is the move. It softens the sharp vinegar edge and adds a deep, savory warmth that rounds out the last few bites beautifully. We also ordered mandu guk (dumpling soup), which is pure comfort. A milky, rich beef bone broth with hearty dumplings, perfect for a Michigan winter day. This is an easy 5/5 when the broth is this good. The bindaetteok (mung bean pancake) was another highlight. Crisp on the outside, soft and savory inside, and cooked just right. A solid 4.5/5. Sambong is a place I'll happily return to. Not just for the food, but for the connection to traditional Korean dishes that are hard to find elsewhere in the area. This spot feels special.

After working out at a nearby gym, my friend suggested Sambong Korean Restaurant for lunch. I was…read moreinitially hesitant. Since I live in an area with plenty of Korean restaurants, I don't usually go out of my way to eat Korean elsewhere -- especially not in the most corporate area of Troy. That said, I was hungry, craving meat, and my friend insisted that Sambong was worth trying I kept my expectations low. The restaurant is set up cafeteria-style and completely self-serve, which means no tipping culture. We ordered at the counter, found an open table, and grabbed utensils and napkins from the self-service station. There are also two large jugs, one for barley tea and the other for beef broth, available to enjoy throughout the meal. While waiting for our food, my friend and I sipped on the piping-hot broth. It leaned a bit too salty but was incredibly soothing given the windy, chilly weather. COMBO: MUL NAENGMYUN + PORK NECK BBQ - 21 (after tax) My tray came with a large bowl of naengmyun and a sizzling plate of grilled, marinated pork neck. I started by tasting the cold broth on its own, which was lightly sweet and tangy. While I prefer a tangier broth, adding a good amount of mustard and vinegar helped intensity the flavors. The buckwheat noodles were plentiful, chewy, and soaked up the icy broth nicely. The pork neck was incredibly tender with a delicious marinade, though definitely on the fattier side. I was able to enjoy a piece of pork with nearly every bite of noodles and broth. The contrast between the cold, tangy noodles and the warm, sweet-savory meat was extremely satisfying. Overall, I definitely recommend this combo, as it was delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. Yum! After we finishing our meal, we returned our trays to the designated stand, completing the self-service experience. This is a great spot for comforting Korean dishes, especially in the Metro Detroit area. I'm shocked to find such a solid Korean restaurant in Troy. I ending up drinking three cups of the beef broth, which was addictive. Even on a Monday afternoon, the restaurant was more than half full, and there were quite a few older Koreans diners, which is always a good sign.
