We each had a Fun Guy (mushroom) burger. The house sauce was so thick that we couldn't really taste our fungi - just this salty, mustard-y sauce. And the burgers seemed smaller than the first time I went there, as far as the amount of stuff on the bun. Disappointing. However, the fries were tasty and cooked to a crispy golden brown, if a bit salty for my wife's taste. Finally, I think the location is a bonus, not a detriment. We did some great people-watching sitting at the window seats. Amazing how far Eugene's downtown has come since I moved here in the mid '80s. And... no 80's metal music! Not the best place for a sit in meal, waaaay to loud and always to crowded, I enjoy the Jose Mendoza burger but it's not amazing, honestly cornucopia burgers blow this place out of the water but their alright for a little downtown burger joint, it's a hit or miss with the food, my only advice is order your food to go. OMG, so loud. I was informed music couldn't be turned down (store policy) but they'd be happy to do my food to go. If I wanted to eat at my office, I'd have brought my lunch to work. So let's see other than that, service was friendly and fast, food was average and about what you'd expect at this kind of place. I work downtown and love a good burger every now and then. Went here for the second time recently. I walked in and sat at the bar waiting for my wife who was going to meet me there. The bartender didn't acknowledge me. No waitress came to help me. There were two off duty restaurant workers drinking at the bar. Sat around for 10 minutes or so without so much as eye contact with anyone willing to take my money. When my wife arrived we just left. Granted the barkeep was busy. He was taking phone orders and doing stuff. You just expect a bit of acknowledgement when your wallet is fat and you are thirsty. I've been here several times now, and am never disappointed. The burgers are amazing (especially the Peanut Butter Bacon Pickle, my favorite), and the service is great, too. I'll start by saying that the burger was great, I mean it was freaking great! the hanging menu sucks. There was nobody at the counter for 10 min to take my order. the music was so ear-splitting I ate outside so I could hear myself think. and once at the outside tables I was in the land of the lost, never saw a waitress the rest of the time I was there. The Killer Burger from Killer Burger is yummmmmmy. I used to like Red Robin before finding this place.

We went on a Friday night around 6pm and we were able to find a table outside quite easily, though the line was long to order. Staff was friendly and moving quickly to get food out to tables as fast as possible. Between three of us, we had a Classic, a Teemah and a Barnyard, all girly sized. Get the small one if you want room for dessert- the burgers are huge and the fries are plentiful! All three burgers were really tasty. The Barnyard could have been more delicious with an over-medium egg so it had a runny yolk. That didn't stop my son from enjoying it! The fries were hot and crispy and it was excellent for quick service burgers. We'd all go back! read more

I did take one star off because of the atmosphere outside the restaurant was not awesome. Too many homeless people sitting around in front of restaurants and on street corners. Walking around downtown Eugene with my wife and two daughters was an uneasy feeling. The Eugene police department needs to clean this up and make it a no solicitation or vagrants. Took the family in there tonight...great burgers. Crap music. After reading the reviews I was expecting it to be blaring music, it was not. Average level, just not a fan of rap music. Ordered the epic burger...really tasty and juicy. Wife had the Jose Mendez burger, ton of cheese and really good. Kids were really satisfied with their kids burgers. We will be going back. We first experienced Killer Burger in Portland downtown three years ago and we still talk about it. Eugene was no different. Juicy beef patty, crispy bacon, sweet onion and tomato on a fresh bun and LOTS of paper towels, which are provided on the tables because you are going to need them. Totally bizarre experience. The bartender was acting drunk. She totally forgot about us because she was busy setting the bar on fire with those flame shots that are ordered every fifteen minutes. Which we didn't mind waiting because afterall, it's just food. I finally made eye contact with the bartender and she took our order. I got the killer and my wife got the barnyard. Pretty good burgers. I had to lay down afterwards ( I waited til I got home to lay down). I still think Marche has the best burger in town. However, killer burger was still really good. They seem to have a great beer selection. The man who dropped off our burgers said "good luck with that" as he set them in front of us. The bartender asked me seven times if I liked the Cole slaw. Then she brought me pepper because she eats hers with pepper. She asked me one more time if I liked the slaw. I said "it's killer". Then she asked us if we already paid because she forgot she took our order. Then the bouncer had to isolate this one dude behind us because he was acting like a drunken fooligan. More fire shots were ordered. The woman wiping tables was doing a dance. The fries were really good. It's very loud inside but what do you expect when you are downtown on a Friday night. A friend go mine lit up with joy after hearing a Killer Burger had opened up in Eugene, so under his suggestion we decided to check it out. We arrived during "Crazy Hour" their take on Happy Hour. Which takes place 2-5 Mon-Fri and includes the fantastic deal of $5.99 Killer Burger or Peanut Butter Bacon Pickle Burger with bottomless fries. I ordered the PBPB and he the Killer Burger. First off, the decor is an odd but good mix of hard rock and 'Portland/Eugene' casual. Like others have said, there is loud music, but it isn't unpleasant and didn't take away, distract, or interrupt conversation. The employees were friendly and knowledgeable, and the food arrived in a timely manner. Now, the taste. The Peanut Butter sauce reminded me of one someone might find in a Thai restaurant. It worked well with the generous amount of bacon, pickles and "smoky house sauce." The burger was well done but still juicy, however the other ingredients seemed to mask the flavor of the meat itself a large, but not overwhelming, amount. The bun did not crumble or become soggy, which was nice, and the fries were crisp. I was not able to take advantsge, however of the bottomless offer, though because of the initial serving size being quite large and filling, but if one were to stay and watch a game and stay longer than a casual diner, the bottomless fries could be a great ammenity. Finally, before leaving I asked a friends 'Killer Crew' member a few queries on the ingredients. The fries are not made in house but are packed frozen and fried there (not an issue with me, they cooked the fries better than most burger joints with frozen fries) but when a I asked the origin of the burger meat she replied that her supervisor had only told her it came from their "distributor" which makes me wonder, but not too much again, as the meat appeared not frozen as they cook the burgers fresh-picked onto the flat top in plain sight of customers. Overall a nice addition to Eugene and a nice place for a afternoon meal with great value. I know I'll be back. read more

Not really a fan. I mean my food wasn't bad. Burger was good, messy, but good. The music was way too loud my group of friends came here for lunch and we had zero conversation because it was just so loud. Few issues... My friend wanted the lunch special but didn't want American cheese, they couldn't make that substitute for her. So she had to pay $3 for the non special burger with cheddar. Kinda silly, but whatever, she didn't have a problem with it the issue was the guy behind the counter was almost arguing with her.. Saying it makes more sense to just get the special with American cheese. Like bro, shut up. Ha. Finally she paid the extra $3 for her burger with cheddar! When she got her burger it wasn't cheddar.. My husband and I tried Killer Burger for the first time in Bingen, WA about a year ago. We were ever so happy when they opened one in downtown. We decided to start our Thanksgiving pants swell with lunch here. He had the Teemah, and I had the Fun Guy with a couple of beers. These are seriously awesome burgers. I am not a fan of bacon so I had them put all my bacon on my husband's burger at his request, not because I'm trying to kill him at 40 with a heart attack. The very nice woman taking my order was happy to make that happen for us. My burger was superb, filled with mushrooms and melty, cheesy, saucy heaven on a perfectly cooked burger. The fries were fantastic although I didn't get to eat many of them. Bottomless fries is more like a dare than a discount. The place was packed but the food was fast. We were in and out in under an hour at a peak lunch rush time of day. The decor is good as is the booze selection. Overall, yay. read more

They don't offer kids veggie burgers which doesn't make sense because their menu says any burger add a dollar to make veggie burger but regardless of that there should be a veggie option for kids. Just like two stars says, "Meh, I've experienced better". While the burgers are HUGE and the fry portion is nice, I just wasn't a fan. I wanted to try something unique so I had the peanut butter burger. It was not what I totally expected. It was just so sweet and way too rich. I couldn't finish the entire burger it was just too much. My husband had the Killer Burger. It wasn't anything special; and he also stated that it was just too much. Because the food was so rich, we both did not feel good after eating here (I will spear you all the details). The major complaint on yelp is that it is too loud, we totally agree with this assessment. My husband was worried he wouldn't hear the lady call his name because it was so loud. Completely not necessary. I am also not a fan of the parking here, there is no parking lot and due to it being busy downtown we had to park a few blocks away. Man what can I say I had the PBPB I've always loved the combo of peanut butter and bacon, they did not shy away from the PB, very delicious burg. my son had the epic burger which he absolutely devoured, declaring it the best burger he's ever eaten. My girlfriend had the Jose Mendoza I believe its called "metro" style, which she loved at times its hard for us to find places to eat as she a vegetarian I am not we both thoroughly enjoyed this place. as far as noise goes its not any louder than most of the other eatery/bars in the area, some people just always have the need to gripe about something. Maybe their lives are just that empty...anywho the customer service was also top notch, I was checked on about 3 times by 3 different employees. Everyone was really enthusiastic and energetic and seemed really pleased to be working there great all around experience. I do plan on dining here regularly in the future. read more

Kids meals are great, think first though about ordering the house sauce, it's a very smoky version of fire sauce and I am personally not a fan of. I ordered the kids meal with house sauce on the side add pickles and that was great. However, my sister is a vegan, and she made that very clear to the cashier about her order. They served her beef instead of tofu which she ate, vegans and vegetarians should definitely check their meals first before eating. This is very upsetting to me that this happened and that my sister is no longer considered a vegan which isn't her fault, we got a full refund and also got the burger and the waitress apologized. But they really need to be more careful about things like this. The waitress was however very kind about it and the food was great. Overall I had a pretty positive experience but the fact that they served the meat instead of tofu definitely damages their reputation. but they also have unlimited fries! Anyways the burgers are good but if your vegetarian or vegan be careful also the diced onions are cooked in bacon grease. read more

This place seems geared for late night drunken college students. Inefficient use of space with lots of tall chairs at counters. Burgers and fries were nothing particularly special - just large (and prices reflect that). Music is very loud and, at lunchtime, when asked to lower the volume so we would not have to shout our conversation, were told it is "policy NOT to lower the volume." Special requests like no bacon on the burgers and ranch dressing for the fries were completely ignored. Will not be returning. read more
