    Oink Oink Adobo

The food was decent. The price was not that decent for the portion size. The rice to the adobo ratio was off. The rice was like a giant rice ball in its separate bowl (it's not a problem it's in a separate bowl, just that's how it was served which is fine.) and the adobo itself was a bit saltier than what I expected so having the extra rice would be nice (pretty sure it's an extra charge though considering steamed rice was also listed in the menu as a separate thing. The drink was good though! I enjoyed it even though there was a long chunk of ice in it. It was a punch with ube. The server was nice though and the food came out relatively quick. The interior was nicely decorated and pretty casual. The part that icked me out was the 20% gratuity charge regardless of your party size.

Kilig was a wonderful introduction to Filipino cuisine and a restaurant I'd happily recommend to anyone looking for flavorful, comforting food in a casual setting. We ordered the Shroom Shroom Fried Rice with chicken, Pancit Canton noodles with chicken, Fried Oink Oink Adobo, and a Pandan Old Fashioned. The standout dish was easily the Shroom Shroom Fried Rice--packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. The Pancit Canton noodles were another winner, full of savory flavor and perfectly cooked. The Fried Oink Oink Adobo was tangy, rich, and satisfying, though I was surprised it didn't come with a side of rice. For drinks, the Pandan Old Fashioned was well-made with a subtle pandan flavor that complemented rather than overpowered the cocktail. Service was friendly and efficient, and all of the food arrived fresh and surprisingly quickly. The atmosphere is vibrant and casual, with a comfortable dining room and a few bar seats. We made a reservation, but on a Sunday evening there were plenty of open tables, making for a relaxed dining experience. Overall, Kilig delivered flavorful dishes, great cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere. A spot I'd definitely return to explore more of the menu.

What a fun and cute place! Had no idea this existed in ID. The cocktails were great and the portions were pretty filling. They played great music and from the looks of the posters around the restaurant, they host some fun events.

A cool Filipino place located in the Chinatown area of Seattle. We came here for a late lunch and ordered a few items to share among the two of us. We order the pancit tinola, shroom shroom fried rice with Chinese sausage, and bulalo soup. The food was enjoyable with the shroom shroom fried rice being my favorite. This place is worth checking out.

The service was awesome! They were having some burgers event so their menu was just limited to these 3, despite that, their food was good, maybe except for the regular burger. I did like the Ube burger more, because of the longganisa meat. However when my food came my longganisa was a bit undercooked, so I had to return it to the kitchen, and maybe it took another 20mins or so to get it back but I think that was just their timeline because everyone came in at the same time. The owner was super nice enough to gift my mom a bottle of tanduay. My mom has always been looking for one in WA state but couldn't find, she uses this for cooking and surprisingly the owner just gave her a bottle for free. O_O E

Kilig is located on 8th Ave, toward the quieter end of Chinatown, so traffic is noticeably lighter compared to other nearby spots. This restaurant is the sister restaurant of Musang. While it's more affordable than Musang, I still find it a bit pricey for the portion sizes. That said, the restaurant is spotless, and service is fast and attentive. Kilig describes itself as a panciteria, which traditionally refers to an inexpensive, casual Filipino eatery, and a bulalohan, meaning a place that specializes in bulalo (slow-cooked beef shank soup). Personally, I don't fully agree with the "panciteria" label given the pricing. However, despite the smaller portions for what you pay, the food itself was phenomenal. One thing to note: a 20% service charge is automatically added to your bill, whether you're dining solo or in a group. What We Ordered Lumpiang Shanghai Fried pork and shrimp egg rolls filled with water chestnuts and carrots. This is one of the most classic Filipino dishes, and it's hard to go wrong here. These were very crunchy and served with their house-spiced vinegar, simple and satisfying. Sinigang Wings These were just okay. They're standard fried chicken wings with a light salt and vinegar tang. There's an option to make them saucier (hot honey glaze) for an extra $2, which we skipped, but probably shouldn't have. That might have added more flavor. While they were crispy and not dry at all, it's hard to justify $17 for this appetizer. Bulalo Beef Shank Soup A comforting boiled beef shank soup with corn, charred cabbage, and potatoes. The portion size was good, and the bone marrow was delicious. However, some of the beef was on the fattier side, and the broth itself was a bit bland, could've used more salt. Oink Oink Spicy Adobo Our favorite dish of the night, though the portion was disappointingly small. Don't expect a lot of meat. That said, the flavors were excellent: braised pork adobo with baby potatoes, shishito peppers, rice wine vinegar, and spicy habanero. If you're sensitive to heat, definitely eat this with rice, it helps balance the spice. Drinks Tepache Sazón Pineapple Beer Hear me out! I know it's Mexican beer, and we're at a Filipino restaurant. I'm also not a big beer drinker. But this was amazing. It tasted like pineapple juice with a light, fermented kick, refreshing and easy to drink. I'd honestly come back just for this.

This place is the sister restaurant of Musang in International District. We ordered many things to try and sample. The sizzling sisig was very good. The pork shoulder was very soft and tender and lots of flavor with a slight spicy kick to it. The og palabok was also very good little shrimp and pork ragu, the flavors were very well match with the glass noodles. The sinigang wings and lumpiang Shanghai were also very good albeit a bit pricey for lumpia imo. Fried very well, crispy and flavorful along with the great hot honey dipping sauce. The bulalo beef shank soup was good but felt nothing to write home about. It was very tender but nothing too crazy. The Ube panna cotta desert was excellent! It was not overwhelming in ube and not overwhelming in sweetness and soft. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. She was very accommodating of the kid we had with us for kid friendly utensils which saves many a headache. The decor is cute and has a bit of a bar vibe if anyone is looking for that.

I was so happy to see a Filipino restaurant in ID! The place captures the fun Filipino spirit while keeping it still on the gourmet side. Food was pretty good but servings were a bit on the small side.

I had no idea about this restaurant. My brother wanted to eat Filipino food, so I found this on Yelp. It was earlier than we would usually eat dinner. I was surprised when the host asked if we had a reservation. It was a little after 4 pm and the restaurant was empty. That should have been my first clue. Music was loud. That should have been my second clue. We had our choice of anywhere we wanted to sit. I chose a table next to the wall. Looking at a the menu I couldn't tell if the food was for individuals or family style. The waitress said they were healthy portions and could be shared. The lumpia was posted at $14. I asked, how many in the order. She said , "four". I must have looked at her like she was crazy. She then said, "they are this long" signifying they were longer than the usual size. Third clue - Lumpia Shanghai are thin. I ordered them anyway. I also ordered the fried chicken wings. She said there are eight to an order. They were supposed to be flavored in tamarind sauce. I asked that they be plain with out the sauce. They were good without the sauce, but I happened to have extra vinegar sauce that came with the lumpia. So I tried it in my chicken. It was the bomb. So far so good. For the main course, I asked if we could order the spicy adobo without the Spicy habanero. She said no that's how it's made. My family obviously comes from a different province. If anything, we add sugar. So we didn't order that. We ended up with Pancit Canton with chicken and Palabok. After the main dished came, we quickly realized we needed steamed rice. I have to admit these dishes were pretty wonderful. We each had second helpings. I was surprised how good the food was until the bill came. They charge a 20 % service charge. The bill came to over $124. I kept thinking about all the frozen lumpia in my freezer at home. Okay I admit the food was very good. Wait staff were friendly, attentive, and not pushy. I would go back, not frequently, but perhaps on special occasions.

I got to try the sinigang wings here as part of the CID food walk. They were super crispy and a little crunch even, with a slightly tangy taste. I almost felt like I was eating chips with the specific flavor profile. The wings were nice and juicy though, and I did enjoy them a lot. The inside of this place is quite nice and well decorated - it seems like a good spot to grab a yummy dinner!

As a Filipino-American, I had so much Filipino pride walking into the doors of Kilig since just a seemingly short few years ago there weren't very many sit-down Filipino restaurants with chic and modern interiors to go to in the Seattle area. A common sight were the simple, "turo-turo" counters where food was kept warm under heat lamps. Kilig offers a casual, yet semi-fine dining atmosphere with prices reflecting more of a special occasion outing with humble and traditional Filipino dishes that are given an elevated and often creative twist. Chef/owner Melissa Miranda has helped to lead the charge in changing the Filipino restaurant offerings and landscape in Seattle. Among her three restaurants, and comparing their ambiance and authenticity of the Filipino food they serve, Kilig is the perfect middle ground between Musang (more fine dining and not as traditional) and CheBogz (more casual and traditional). Kilig is located in the Chinatown/International District of Seattle. Expect street parking only, which is free on Sundays and holidays. I enjoyed Kilig's food, ambiance, service, and I think that it is overall "Panalo" (winning in English). I am excited to come back here soon to try more dishes and to simply enjoy the community vibes at this restaurant and support the struggling Chinatown/International District. Please help to spread the word and always #supportlocal and #supportsmallbusiness.

This place is delicious. We had no idea what to get so we just asked and they happily described and recommended. Highly recommend this ordering method. Drinks were spot on. 10/10 will return.

Stopped by Kilig for the second time and I'm so glad we did! We ordered the lumpia, which was perfectly crispy and so flavorful. They served it with a vinegar dipping sauce--I've never had it that way before, but I definitely will from now on. We also had the pancit palabok, bulalo, and shroom shroom fried rice, and every single dish was packed with flavor. Everything came out quickly, but a chef even stopped by our table to drop off some adobo to apologize for the wait--which honestly didn't feel like a wait at all. I'm glad we got to try it though because the adobo had a nice kick and paired perfectly with white rice. The ambiance was very welcoming with plenty of seating, and our server was kind and attentive--constantly refilling our waters. 10/10 experience and can't wait to come back again!

As walk-in guests, we waited several minutes before being offered bar seating, despite the bar appearing to have open seats from the start. Having worked in restaurants myself, I understand how busy things can be. The meal itself was wonderful, but I hope the FOH experience becomes as polished as the kitchen. If bar seating is available for walk-ins, I think offering it earlier would make for a much smoother first impression. We walked in, explained that we were a walk-in party of two, waited while availability was checked twice, were told there wasn't a table available, and that next table wouldn't be available until 8:30 p.m. only afterward were offered seats at an open bar. Perfect timing if you want to beat the rush and take a look around before it fills up. The restaurant is located in Beacon Hill, right next to the Beacon Hill light rail station, which is super convenient if you're coming from downtown or the airport. No dedicated parking lot, so you're looking at street parking. The setup is counter service. You order and pay up front, then find a seat, and they bring the food out to you. It's a nice hybrid of quick-service convenience with the personal touch of table delivery. Just remember to bus your own table when you're done. They've also got a station set up for washing your hands and mixing your own dipping sauce, which I thought was a really thoughtful touch (if you grew up with Filipino food, you know). I went heavy on the sinamak (spiced vinegar). Seating is flexible. Counter seats if you're solo or just grabbing something quick, and regular tables that can accommodate four or more if you've got a bigger group. We ordered the bangus-silog, island combo, and cassava cake. Bangus-silog:Came with garlic rice, two eggs, and milkfish, and it hit exactly the way silog should. Yolks were slightly runny, rice had that good garlicky flavor, and the bangus was perfectly fried with head and tail. Island combo: Came with two lumpia, two inihaw ribs, pancit, white rice, two longanisa, and two butterfly shrimp. Great way to sample a bunch of things in one go if you can't decide. The lumpia was crispy and had a good amount of filling. The ribs were tender and had a nice char. The pancit had good noodle texture, and the longanisa had that slightly sweet, garlicky flavor you want. Nothing special about the butterfly shrimp. Also don't skip the baked goods section near the register. It's definitely worth a look on your way out. We tried a slice of cassava cake for dessert. Dense and not overly sweet. Good way to end the meal. Staff at the register were friendly and patient the whole time. They answered any questions about the menu. Overall, a solid and casual spot for Filipino comfort food. Some of the noodles were on the dry side, but I did like the cabbage and green onion throughout. Pickled veggies were a nice addition, adding more sour flavor to the overall entree. For someone who hardly ever has Filipino food and desperately misses mom's cooking, I was just happy to have Salu-Salo bring some adobo to the area. I would definitely recommend checking out Salu-Salo if you ever see their stand around. They don't update their social media channels, unfortunately, so is a little difficult to find where their stand will be. And when I asked if they participate in any markets, they do not. But the owners did mention that they visit downtown Seattle often at other office buildings around. Therefore, I have a feeling I'll be seeing them soon and getting my Filipino cuisine on. (Plus, bonus points for the owner being from the Bicol region of the Philippines, which is where my mom's side is from. Love that!)

Salu-Salo put Fillipino food on the map for me, and thank god for that…read more I do not know why it has taken so long for this cuisine to become popular in the U.S. because frankly, its freaking delicious! Salu-Salo offers a wide variety of dishes with unique flavor profiles. With some of the dishes, I can't compare them to anything I have ever tried before. For example, my favorite dish on the menu is the Laing Express, which is made with coconut milk, taro leaves, topped with a delicious crispy piece of pork belly. With a topping of pork belly, how could anything go wrong? This dish has an amazing earthy flavor, with a bit of a kick to it. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. How often to you get to eat purple desserts? Ube cake gets its color from purple yams! Salu-Salo's ube coconut topped ube cheesecake balls are not just adorable, they are addicting. Not overwhelmingly sweet, and perfect for sharing, these are a treat. For those with dietary restrictions, Salu-Salo is a great option because there are plenty choices. As someone who is gluten free, all of the main dishes are fair game. This is often very rare when dining out for me!! Here's to Salu-Salo for exposing Seattleites to what Filipino food is all about. Rosario's cuisine feels like a healthy take on comfort food. Each dish bursting with flavor, yet still accessible to all ages. The idea behind comfort food is all about the thought that goes into the prep. After tasting Salu-Salo's food, I promise you can tell a lot of care goes into the preparation of each dish. I am looking forward to this becoming a Seattle institution, and hope it inspires more Filipino cuisine to start popping up in the PNW.

It's weird but so good. - 8pcs Chicken half spicy: 4.7/5 it was really good. The half spicy was really good, not spicy to me but that's not unusual. Got hot sauce in the side and it was really tasty! - Mochi Cake: 10/5 so freaking good! Service was fantastic and the inside is really cute. Small but welcoming. TL:DR: Is it cheap? No. But it's a gluten free fried chicken that is actually good, the sides are bomb, and the price for the value is there.

Kaboom! Best fried chicken I've ever seen or eaten. Yes, one look at all the pieces (ordered the…read more8pc) and you can see beauty in its creation and attention to detail. Got the half spicy half normal and dusting of spice was perfect. The fact that this is gluten free (which is fantastic for all GF folks in our family) is even more Amazing how they got everything right with the crunch and flavor. Potato skins and garlic rice were good too, though less garlic would have been better. Could easily make this into a garlic egg fried rice and larger portions. The staff were super attentive and took time to explain everything to first time visitors. Steady stream of take out orders as seating is limited. Would come back to try the other sides too. Happy to report no reaction for gluten free member of our family, top marks for safety.
