Kiki Bakery in North Seattle, located next door to Asian Family Market in North Seattle has been in business since 2016. However, surprisingly I've not stopped in or purchased anything until a TGTG pickup back on 12/2/25. Asian bakeshops tend to be based with fluffier, softer dough, not laminated, and not overly sweet. Cloyingly sweet with additives or preservatives are usually a hard no. I was at another indie cafe and saw that there was availability for a TGTG pickup on the way home. I spontaneously thought this would be a great way to finally check them out. Nice, clean retail shop with pastry cases full of eye catching products and pleasant counter staff. Note that there is no available indoor onsite seating, just takeout. My TGTG bag had some heft to it. Once I got home, I saw that I was provided with a nice variety of baked goods. Some were garnished with sliced almonds, raisins or just plain. Some were filled with red bean or cream based. Again, these are intended for same day consumption for optimal freshness. They can be refrigerated, but I recommend only 3-5 days tops after briefly microwaved. Typical of most Asian bakeshops, these pastries were individually plastic bagged. Great for transport, sharing or treat giving, but just too much discarded packaging (not recyclable or compostable). Of course, this observation is not applicable to their nicely decorated tarts and cakes. Kiki Bakery's Taiwanese baked goods originated back in 2004 in Los Angeles. Celebrating ten years at this North Seattle location in 2026! This is also similar to other businesses found in the greater Seattle area such as 85C Bakery Cafe (2007 in Shanghai, 2008 in US), Tous Les Jours (1997 in South Korea, 2004 in US), and Paris Baguette (1988 in South Korea, 2005 in US) - as points of reference. Fun and tasty treats with good filling overall with reasonable prices. Not as fancy as your local Tour Le Jour but does the trick. read more

The "Kiki's Delivery Service" theme immediately caught my eye and so did their pastry selection. I purchased quite a few sweets on this trip including a panda tiramisu (I'm still thinking about it). Every good Chinese grocery store needs a nice bakery nearby, and Asian Family Market is no exception. Kiki Bakery is located right outside the mall-like area and serves everything that someone could possibly expect from a Chinese bakery. On our last visit, we purchased a couple of items: Pork Floss Bun ($2.75) - This is a soft bun topped with sweet mayo and salty pork floss. Interestingly, it's cut through the center of the bun and left mostly unfilled except for a dab of additional mayo on one side. (4/5) Ham & Egg Sandwich ($2.50) - This is a pretty simple, aesthetically pleasing sandwich. It's very tall with four pieces of fluffy bread sandwiching ham, cheese, and cucumber cream cheese. The sandwich is much lighter than it appears, making it more of a snack than a meal. (4/5) Vanilla/Chocolate Triangle Cake ($2.50) - Again, this sandwich has a super fluffy bread base and is filled in the center with sweet cream. It's sweet but not too sweet. (4/5) Overall Kiki is a pretty solid bakery. I think it's a lot better than the bakeries that are typically inside of the grocery stores. read more

We stopped by on a Sunday morning. We purchased some pastries (egg tart, meat floss taro cake, and okonomiyaki bread) and they were reasonably priced and tasty! I stumbled upon this hidden bakery with a coworker. The house made Asian style deserts were delicious. I got a Parmesan sweet bread and a napoleon. The consistency was really fluffy and flavorful and not too sweet. I was transported back to Vancouver, CA. What stood out to me was that the baked goods tasted exceptional towards the end of day. I came here years ago and was disappointed. IDK if it was an off day or I didn't know what to get. Flash forward 5+ years--- they have stepped it up! The pastries there are fresh and delicious! The sweets were good. Some of them didn't quite match our tastes, but overall they were pretty good. The blueberry cheesecake was light, but also fairly dry and crumbly (not recommended). The strawberry cake was very good, but a little overly sweet for some of us (some of us liked it quite a bit - recommended if you like sweets that are reasonably sweet). The matcha cake was a hit (recommended). The breads/rolls were good (recommended). Service was very good - prompt, friendly, helpful. The ambiance is what you'd expect of a Chinese bakery. It was clean and sanitary, but small (no seating). Value is pretty good. The cakes at our time of visit were $4.95 each slice and the breads ranged from $2.50 - $2.95. You'll pay much more for comparable food on the Eastside. I'd say it's worth a try if you're in the area and like Chinese bakeries. read more

Was in the area looking for Asian cake and found Kiki bakery via Google. Very convenient location near the Asian grocery store. They have a variety of cakes, cookies, and baked goods. Everything looks super tasty! We got the matcha cake and tiramisu slices. Tiramisu tasted standard, not too sweet. We weren't super impressed by the matcha, it had an interesting floral scent to it and did not seem like it was made with ceremonial grade matcha. As part of a monthly lunch together between my aunt and whoever else in the family can attend, my aunt bought a number of Kiki Bakery & Cafe items for us to share. Out of the items, I chose to go with an egg tart. The tart came in a small to go container that was easy to open and did a good job of keeping the tart fresh as I stored it in the fridge overnight. The egg tart had a slightly sweet flavor and the custard filling was smooth and slightly springy. The crust was similar to quiche crusts I have had. I've passed this bakery many times but I never thought to go in here for boba. I was shocked because I loved it so much! I hope to go back soon. LOCATION & PARKING // This is located inside the huge strip mall/plaza, with Asian Food Market, Sprouts, Hobby Lobby (ugh), etc. While there are a ton of parking spots, I will say it does get full so you might have to drive around to find a spot. The bakery itself is next to the Asian Food Market and a bit small but it's easy to find. AMBIANCE // It's definitely a grab-and-go type of place. Imagine 85 but a bit smaller. There are pastries along the wall that you can grab to pay for at the counter. If you're just looking for drinks, go straight to the counter. I walked in around 6pm so there weren't too many pastries left which was fine since I assume they sold out through the day. Keep in mind there are no tables in here so you cannot hangout after ordering. FOOD & DRINK // I ordered: TIGER SUGAR MILK TEA WITH BOBA: I originally wanted the Grass Jelly Milk Tea but they said they were out of grass jelly which made me sad. While I enjoy brown sugar/tiger sugar milk teas, I find them hit or miss since they can sometimes just taste like straight milk with a little bit of syrup or too sweet. I thought this drink was a perfect balance. It was flavorful throughout the entire drink experience! I would honestly get it again. COCONUT PASTRY: I also picked up a coconut pastry because they are my favorite. I really judge different bakeries' pastries because sometimes they get the bread to coconut ratio off. I hate it when there's too much bread and not enough soft coconut flakes. This place nailed it though. We decided to go do some grocery shopping next door first and then come back. When we got back, it was busy! We narrowed down our choices and grab the following things: Savory trio (4/5) --- super soft and fluffy, I like the difference flavors on top. My favorite is probably the corn one as it was more sweet and savory. Sausage and cheese bread (4/5) ---suoer soft and fluffy, I definitely wish the sausage was cut slightly smaller and distributed more around the bread but that's just personal preference Salted butter bread (5/5) ---this was such a pleasant surprise. I love that buttery taste and the salt gave it a nice oomph. It's a little more dense than the other two but it was really good. It definitely grew on me. Egg tart (5/5) --- I really enjoyed this egg tart because it has a nice flakiness but still soft and the custard inside was abundant. I grab a plate full of goodies from custard buns, napoleon cream, their special pudding custard, taro bun, tiramisu, and desert tofu. The breads were decent but could have been on the softer side. The pudding custard with the soufflé cake type on top was dry on top and was disappointing. The napoleon was horrible because it had mold on it so I tossed it immediately when I got home. The sprinkle cookies were hard as rock. The service was fine but they may miss ringing some items up. It was a pretty busy place. The only thing I would give good rating to is the tofu dessert. Cute little spot in a big shopping plaza. Parking is plentiful, but there are a lot of buisnesses here, so sometimes it can be a challenge. Every time I stop in, I try something new and I've enjoyed everything. The egg tarts are quite tasty, as are the pineapple tarts and I've yet to try a bun that wasn't yummy. I had bought a cake and put a $5.50 cup of Oreo shortbread on the counter. Due to the price that I was charged, I thought they didn't charge me for the shortbread and I changed my mind so I put it back. When I saw the receipt, I realized my mistake and went back to have it corrected. They couldn't verify that I had put it back, so they wouldn't refund me or let me take the shortbread. WOW. Over $5. I like Kiki a lot. I have enjoyed all the pastries I bought here so far. The taro bun is my favorite and better than anywhere else. I got some recently and I felt it tasted even better than before. Kiki is a Taiwanese bakery. If they weren't so far from me, I would go a lot more regularly. Their breads, buns, and cakes are always reliable. I typically like to grab different ones to try and some old favorites, including the Korean Style Baked Sesame Mochi bun (the Chinese text shows it has a nickname of Dinosaur Egg). I also like their taro mochi bun, which can be difficult to locate. The Danish Vinyl has layers and layers of crispy pastry to unwind, kind of like a croissant. They also have frozen zongzi (Taiwanese style sticky rice wrapped in banana leave). I didn't try any, but I've heard good things about it. They are in the same plaza as where the Asian Family Market is located. Be sure to drop by and pick up a few pieces. read more

I've loved Kiki Bakery and Cafe since I first stepped foot in it 7 (maybe even 10) years ago. I live 330 miles away now and even still when I'm in the area, I make sure to stop by for some custard buns, taro buns, and bubble tea. The service is almost always polite, and the cafe is as cute as ever inside. While at Hobby Lobby and I saw this bakery and stopped in; what a great find! Such a great variety of Taiwanese baked goods it was hard to select a few. Not going to lie, kind of disappointed. I got three items, and didn't like any of them. The matcha bean cake sure was green, but didn't taste like matcha, so I think it was food coloring. The dark chocolate roll was dense and not fluffy. The cheese cake was also dense, not fluffy. I had chosen this place hoping to be reminded of the sweets I got while I was in Japan. Was asking for an item that I forgot the name and the cashier with glasses was not even helpful. She is a little annoyed with me ( Don't deny it!) Fortunately, she got the correct name which as tofu pudding...answered me "Not today"!, "we did not make today." So why do you have to put a sign and poster outside of your store if you do not make it everyday? I am in the servicing line for more than a decade and her reply to me was rude and unacceptable. She can apologize first at least, because I came all the way from Renton just to have that tofu pudding. Very solid selection. I was just walking by looking for a quick bite and this place caught my attention. I came in and got two savory bread for lunch and it was really good!
