    It was time for an oil change on my 2018 Kia Soul. I called. The service tech asked if it had a 30K check? I said you have the records?! He said that it didn't. He told me it needed fluids to be replaced. I asked the cost? He said about $1000. I made the appointment. I found that I had a coupon for a free wax job. Upon arrival to the service department Damian took my information. He then presented me with different option. $1600, $1400 & $1000. He didn't explain the differences between them. I choose the $1000. He said the car would be washed and vacuumed as well. I said I have a coupon for a wax job. He said he didn't have anybody there to do that. He also said it would be 3 hours! I choose to wait there. The waiting room was a joke. It was combined with the show room and where the sales Teams were taking potential customers info! The "coffee bar" was the biggest joke!! There was a filthy popcorn machine there. Not in use. An assortment of teas, with no hot water and coffee with no cups!! Damian came out to tell me my battery was no good. I said really. The car has 32k miles. He said a new one would be $389 with a $50 install??!! I told him I would pass. Upon completion of the service, we made an additional appointment for the wax job. I would have hoped that he offers to pick up my car. But instead, I would have to make time to take it there, I work as well. I paid. Damian didn't walk me through the services that were performed. He did walk me out to the car. It was washed, but not vacuumed. After I left, I went to Point S to do a load test on the battery. They said everything was fine. They said if it did need a battery, it would be $150 installed.

Got a jump and let the car run for 20 minutes while beloved Bride got dressed for the cold. Drove to Competition Auto Parts (fictitious name) and their price for a replacement was $200+. Decided against this price. Drove to Advance. Their agent told me he would NOT sell me a battery until they tested the on I had. Fine. Their battery was about $30 less, so even if I had a brick, I'd be okay. Testing proved my battery after 45 minutes of being recharged by running engine was now ALIVE! "Ha ha ha! Give my battery LIFE"! (Thanks to Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder). So, they fine folds at Advance did not charge me, sent me on my way and gets my eternal gratitude. If you decide to go there, tell them Perfesser Howard sent you. They'll have no idea who I am, but free advertising never hurts.

He was extremely patient, over 3 phone calls, in helping me find AAP. When I arrived he was helping a non-native English speaker find a rare part. AAP didn't have it and couldn't order it. Shea was infinitely patient. He found it online and wrote down for the foreigner where he could get it. Then Shea installed my battery. Krystal (Shea's boss) - Shea's a great employee.
